The food was very good but the counter help/cook (female owner) was rude and unaccommodating. I felt uncomfortable eating there.

Based on all the other reviews I've read, we must have caught this place on an off day. We came here because of the reviews, on a Sunday late morning, to get a couple drinks on our way out of town. The woman who helped us wasn't particularly friendly, and didn't seem really happy to be there. The man, who seemed like the manager, seemed to be in an even worse mood. Eye contact wasn't made, and we weren't made to feel welcome. My husband wasn't impressed with his coffee drink, and my hot chocolate was nothing to write home about. Kind of upsetting, considering all the rave reviews this place has received. read more

Who would have thought the best place to get a breakfast burrito ANYWHERE, was in Jerome at this little cafe. The inside only has 3 tables and a small bar area, but it's so cozy and has such a great vibe. I ordered a mushroom breakfast burrito with egg, roasted red peppers, some sort of pickled cactus part and cheese. They make this PHENOMENAL fresh cilantro salsa that tastes fantastic with that burrito. What a wonderful, friendly, cozy, and delicious way to enjoy Jerome. The Flatiron Cafe is on the corner when you drive into Jerome and is owned by Tom and Cat. The food was absolutely fabulous. My wife and I had both breakfast and lunch there and were amazed at the quality of food that we enjoyed as well as the friendliness that Tom and his buddy Chad rained down on us. They knew everyone who came in, greeted all newbies as old friends, and generally made you feel welcome as soon as you walked into the door. You would do well to make this your first stop when exploring Jerome!!! read more

My wife and I stayed at the Flat, and would come back in a heartbeat! We loved this little loft for its cozy. rustic atmosphere, with modern accoutrements. The views are enjoyable, as you are right in the heart of Jerome, and you can head up to the roof for some stargazing, as we did. The place was spotless, and the bed was amazing. We felt that The Flat was a good value, but the meal package really sweetened the deal. The Flat is owned by Vlad Costa, who also owns Quince, down the road, and the Flatiron Cafe below. We had a complimentary dinner at Quince (delicious!) and a breakfast at the Cafe (also delicious). I'd highly recommend staying at The Flat. The only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars is the informality of the meal package. It would be nice to have tickets or a voucher, so that the servers know you're for real. read more

I went in there wanting a hamburger. They don't serve hamburgers. So we tried a Turkey based sandwich and it was sooo good! Chad really knows how to combine ingredients into a mile high flavorful sandwich on a whole grain bread. There is more to a restaurant than the food. Thank God the food was good, because that is all this place has going for it. The (assuming) owner, was the opposite of friendly. Acted like we were bothering him. There was no one else there. After he took our order, he said. "Go across the street and wait on the patio, and I'll call you "This landmark building sits in the middle of a "y" , so I asked, "Patio across the street?" To which he pointed and said, "that's a patio and it is across the street". Seriously, dude? We walked across the street to the patio that was attached to another building that has a sign that said , "private residence". There were a few mismatched patio tables and chairs perched precariously on uneven layers of concrete-all of them dirty. I don't mean from the previous guests, I mean when I pulled a disinfectant wipe out of my purse and wiped our table off, it was black from dirt. We sat on the "patio" and when our breakfast was ready he came to the door and waved and yelled, "Hey!" And turned around and walked back in. We walked across the street and he handed me one of the small size paper plates with my food piled on top of itself precariously. I had ordered my toast with jam, but certainly didn't expect this huge glop of jam already on my toast. Treat your customers like you appreciate their business, clean your tables, you might consider a ceiling fan outside of your residence if you expect people to eat there. And for Gods sake upgrade your paper plates and plastic eating utensils if that is what you are going to use. read more

There's not too many choices for food in Jerome, so we went to this extremely tiny diner- at least I guess it was a diner-a diner with like 6 seats. Very basic, limited menu. I got a bagel with smoked salmon- not the greatest quality but whatever, it was edible. read more

Flatiron haunts (not spooks) me. Jerome is a copper mining town, but Flatiron Cafe is a diamond in the rough. My view of Jerome has been shaped by Flatiron. On a sunny, languid November afternoon, I was greeted by the warm smile of owner Tom. The staff was relaxed and welcoming, exuding an energizing lightness as they went about their work. The lentil soup with root vegetables was fresh, and the bread pudding warming - I don't mean the opposite of stale and I'm not referring to the temperature of the pudding. Extremes and hyperbole don't suit Flatiron. I wouldn't use words like awesome, exceptional, incredible or amazing. What I sought at the vortexes of Sedona, I found here: a peaceful and uplifting experience with sunshine balancing the cool air, nourishing eats and happiness all around. My wife and I visited Jerome as part of a three-day motorcycle ride across Arizona. A cool and funky town for sure. We stopped into Flatiron around 10:30 on a Friday morning. Previous patrons have described the Flatiron Cafe well, and as in any good act, its hard to follow or write anything different. For us, it was a cold March morning and we wanted something simple to tide us over until we got back to Sedona. Again, freshly made "bread pudding" was setting there on the counter in plain view and was too irresistable to pass up. My companion and I shared the fresh baked pudding with a wonderful cup of coffee...WOW!! We would definately go back and do lunch at a later time. Great ambience for a small town with limited seating, Staff, food and service surpassed even some of the finer restaurants that we had been to in Sedona. Very cute place, kind of small. We were seated at the larger table, it was the only one left. There were three of us. The woman who was working got our drink orders. When she came back for our food orders, only one of us wanted food. The others said they were going to hold off. That's when she told us we would have to move if a bigger party came in and we could go sit outside. As paying customers we shouldn't have to move. However, she didn't tell her friends they'd have to move. I don't recommend this place, and I won't be coming back. read more

I have been going to the Flatiron for years and years. I always come away thinking how great my breakfast was. The food is excellent. The quaint atmosphere, whether inside or across the street overlooking Jerome, is so homey and makes me want to bring my friends and family when they come into town. I actually have a nice story about The Flatiron. I met my boyfriend for the first time for breakfast there. We met for an hour, had great food, sat inside by the window and had a lovely time together. That was a great beginning to a wonderful relationship. We are now together 6 months and having a great time. We talk about that breakfast a lot and it is such a great memory. read more

If you are in Jerome and looking for a fresh and healthy meal, you must eat at the Flatiron. We stopped in here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the friendly service and great food. The vegan chickpea salad is amazing with tons of taste and the tuna salad is yummy too. They have 3 different types of milk alternatives (soy, almond, almond-coconut) for my lactose intolerant coffee-loving friends. Definitely a great find! read more
