I think there were only two people working in the shop, the cook in the server/barista Savannah. We almost walked right by the place into the barbecue joint next-door because you have to walk down a few steps to get into the café. We would eat here again.

And then there's the food. Being the creature of habit that I am, I had to get the filet mignon again--and there is a reason I keep coming back to it. It is honestly one of the best filets I have ever had. Perfectly prepared, incredibly tender, and consistently outstanding every single time. We also tried their seasonal pumpkin crème brûlée, and it was KILLER. Such a great seasonal twist on an already amazing dessert and the perfect way to finish the meal. The Clinkscale has become more than just a restaurant we enjoy--it has become part of what we look forward to when visiting Jerome. Incredible food, an amazing atmosphere, and truly wonderful people. Michael, Lauren, and the entire team continue to make every visit memorable. If you are anywhere near Jerome, The Clinkscale needs to be on your list. My boyfriend said the rice was good but he also found uncooked rice immediately after saying this. Overall, I would say the food was far below subpar and I am shocked at the 5 star reviews. I think those who gave it 5 stars might be locals or come from a land of zero flavor. The restaurant aesthetic was just your typical Mexican restaurant decor and I do not think it is unique enough to rectify giving a higher rating. The service was also nothing to talk positively of. We were the only ones in the restaurant and you'd think we weren't even there the way the waitress sat on her phone the entire time. Don't recommend. Would not go back.

First off, I always try to write constructive, and honest reviews, but this place just killed me. So if you don't enjoy rants, maybe stop reading at this point. The restaurant is owned by a couple. Abby, who is super sweet and friendly, and Curtis, who I believe may be the world's biggest asshole. He's rude, condescending and just a downright dick. We made the mistake of taking a picture of a bumper sticker, which set him off. Apparently taking pictures of his establishment is considered rude. It just went downhill from there. It took everything i had not to knock him into next week. If you order the "really good oatmeal" it's not. It's instant out of a box with added sugar and butter. Great coffee, but incredibly over-priced otherwise. If you're lucky to just deal with Abby, then you're good to go. If you have to deal with Cliff, or whatever the hell that anorexic asshole calls himself, then good luck. . . 1 star, but Abby deserves 10 for having to live with this dick hole. read more

Would of given this place 5 stars if the guy prepping the food, think he could of been the owner, was wearing a mask and washing his hands after wiping down tables, in a small space and delivering food to patrons. Food was great, quaint atmosphere, good music and that warm historic Jerome feeling when you walk in. Visited here on vacation. Wife got yelled at by the staff for trying to swat a wasp that was buzzing her. Wife was bitten. Sting was swollen and itchy. They got my wife's order wrong. Expensive food. They seem to be worried about cruelty to a bug but happily serve ham on the menu. This is not the first review I have seen about abusive treatment by the staff in this place. That was the best parfait I've ever had. And I never say those kind of things! The fruit was like.. magically fresh! And the pecans.. So crunchy! And it really was picture perfect. The young lady working was social and sweet, but the hound man was very rude and sarcastic in a negative way. The didn't have many of the items on the menu. Didn't even get to taste the food because the you d man got on my nerves so much.
