One of my favorite bars here in Reno! The environment is great for large groups, it feels safe, and the staff are incredibly kind too. I always recommend getting here around 5:30ish before it gets too busy and it's right when they switch to 21+ only. The pizza here is fantastic if you're a fan of brick oven pizza! They always have a revolving special, but my personal favorite is the BBQ Chicken. They have food trucks too and being there for the La Barca food truck is even better! They always have a lot of cool events almost weekly, so it's always cool to check them out! Such as bingo, silent discos, Humane Society adoptions, alcohol release parties, etc. read more

The Eddy male bouncer denied our access after letting 2 of our 15 person group in to the bar because the bride of our bachelorette/bachelor group didn't know the address on her CA license (she moved and didn't get it updated). This bouncer then argued with the group and displayed very unprofessional behavior (yelling, argumentative). We definitely won't be giving The Eddy our business and they lost out on great business for this man's unprofessionalism. My husband and I planned to walk our dog along the Truckee River in town. It was a beautiful day so we decided to see if The Eddy was open for the season. Their Instagram story advertised Happy Hour is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday - Friday, so we decided to walk straight on over! It was bustling with people enjoying drinks, playing games, and having a fun time. For Happy Hour, they offer $2 off draughts, wine and well drinks. We opted for a couple IPAs. The eddy is one of the best additions to Reno that I have experienced! The drinks are very reasonably priced, and the draft selection is wide. The bartenders always seem to be positive and nice, even when totally slammed. The atmosphere is awesome. It is very family friendly during the day, and very young towards the evening, you get the best of both worlds. The games and activities are super fun, and add a whole new dimension to a night out. In the summer, the weather is perfect to go out and enjoy a game of giant Jenga, or to relax in some hammock chairs. You can bring dogs which is one of the biggest pros for me. I love to bring my dog everywhere I can, and he is always welcomed at the eddy by both the bartenders and bouncers, as well as by all the other dogs! Restrooms have always been clean, as well as the rest of the establishment which is saying a lot when talking about a bar that gets as much business as the eddy. The only thing I would add would be more food options, but other than that, the eddy is so awesome! I have never had a bad experience. read more

The Eddy is a staple in downtown for a place to get drinks and hang out with friends! It has an inviting atmosphere that people walking along the riverwalk see and want to go experience. I have been here several times and it is a great place to bring friends who are in town visiting. People love the outdoor environment of being able to drink outside, the lawn games (bocce and cornhole), the shipping containers that house the bars and some seating, and the food trucks that are usually open for a meal while you drink. They are also dog friendly which is a big plus for us!! The only downside is that this place gets very busy on weekend nights. There is usually a wait at the door and once you get in, you can be stuck for a while waiting in lines at the bars. They do have multiple shipping container bars, but they all can have long lines on weekends because of how busy they get. The Eddy is an awesome place to come for drinks and to hang out, especially when the weather is nice. Just be mindful that you may have to wait a while if you come during a peak going out time on the weekends. read more

This place is just what we needed along the River Walk. If you are hanging out down by the water, then you for sure should stop by and check this place out. Now well established in their location on the south bank, they really liven up the whole area, as whenever I have passed by on a summer's night there is always crowds of patrons having a great time. Walk right in, it's free to enter, and you are immediately in the center of a really nifty beer garden. A few neat art pieces for decorations, as well as games and activities ranging from giant Jenga and Connect Four, to the Bocce Ball courts, and even few small stalls for vendors and artists. And of course, you can just snag a chair or a table and hang out with your friends, which is always encouraged. Bike racks are provided inside the fenced area, too, for those riding around. Instead of having one large bar area, they have pretty smartly built three, count 'em, THREE bars, named Mountain, River, and Desert. But rather than be carbon copies, each bar will have several things on tap that the other two don't have. A neat bit of variety, and you can easily see what's available from their helpful menu screens. I have heard some people say they don't much care for this arrangement, but I like checking to see what each has available, and it helps spread out the lines, too. All the prices are pretty reasonable, especially for local craft brews on tap, and the service is usually pretty quick and on-point. Also, the one big addition they made from last summer is the addition of a more permanent food vendor tucked into the back corner of the lot. At first, it seemed the idea was to have food trucks rotate through, but now it seems this new setup, called Firetail Pizza, is pretty ensconced and looks to be there to stay. I recently tried one of their pies, a four cheese and white sauce pizza, and it was delicious! If the rest of the recipes are as good as this one, they will be doing great business for a long time to come. Definitely try them out if you're feeling hungry. As for downsides, there are a just a couple. Obviously the biggest one is that The Eddy is a victim of its own popularity. When I said there were always crowds here, I mean there are CROWDS. Seldom have I stopped by on an evening when it wasn't packed to the gills, with very few places to sit or even walk without bumping into people. The only times I have visited when it wasn't full up was the early afternoon when they first open. The place is pet friendly, but given the dense crowds, keep in mind all the risks and hazards that come with bringing your animals in here. Overall, though, The Eddy is a fun and happening place to stop by and hang for a bit. I am definitely glad they're here, and will certainly be stopping by again. read more

Super medium low. Attended a social club meeting this evening. It's a Tuesday so the vibe was a 3 out of 10. Totally get that. Club paid for a couple drinks per person, via tickets. First visit to the bar for a can of Long Drink and a small glass of tap wine in a hot glass was covered...added $5 cash for the bartender. Second trip to the bar with the exact same order, tickets and tip.....$7 supplement required. No big deal, but I don't get it. Others in front of us experienced the exact same situation, but needed to leave their spot to go retrieve cash. Bartenders took others out of line to wait on them in front of others who were in front in line. No redeeming reason to visit, in my opinion, and we're locals. read more

I'm on the edge between young person and middle-aged person, and I love that it usually feels like both a frat party and a place that retirees on vacation stumbled upon while on the riverwalk. It's also kid- and pet-friendly. It is a fabulous location, and it's easy to find street parking if one drives two blocks past The Eddy and parks at a meter or the public lot. I'd never experienced a container park before coming here, and I love the concept: the three bars are in what look like semi-truck shipping containers, and each bar has its own draft beer, wine, and cocktail list. Two containers host booth seating. In the middle of the containers are bocce and cornhole courts, jumbo jenga and connect four, eclectic sculptures, and many long tables and high top tables. It was pretty toasty in the open air space this summer, but they quickly built shade structures and installed misters to keep the environment cool and refreshing. There seems to always be at least one food truck parked inside. The Calle Taco food truck is particularly awesome and has a large menu. The $4 side fries are delish! The Eddy is more than just a bar. It markets itself as a "beer garden and community space," and that's totally accurate. If I lived downtown, I would totally take advantage of their morning fitness classes. I like that they host volunteer fairs and promote local art in the container seating spaces. Pro tips: sometimes the lines at the bar can get long, so it helps to have cash on hand to speed up the transaction. It's also not clear to me whether one is supposed to queue in front of the register or whether it's okay to communicate one's drink order even if one isn't sitting at the bar proper. If you have a not-complicated drink order and are paying with exact cash, I think it's appropriate to skip the line. read more

Came here on a Saturday at noon. This was our first time here and we had been ur younger daughter in tow. I love that there are 3 different bars! Each one has a different wine and beer selection so make sure you look at the menu before deciding. You can also open a tab at one and order from any other bar without changing your card. Really liked the selection of beer, and yard games. There were two food trucks just opening when we got there and a couple pop up shops. There was also a local artist working on a mural while we were there. Cons: it was very tourist heavy, which is not a bad thing it just got annoying hearing the bartenders repeat themselves a million times to non-locals. Great spot to hang out depending on the time of day and your age. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday midmornings the place is perfect. Very small older group, you have the whole place almost to yourself. Around 11 am is when the food truck starts to set up. Late afternoon during school season the college age crowd trickles in. From 7pm to close it is a mix of ages and pretty full. Since it's grand opening, The Eddy has continued to grow- it has added more seating and fabulous large sails to block out our full summer sun. But with its location along the river you get a great breeze passing thru. There are large scale lawn games- bocce ball, cornhole and connect four free for everyone to play. Several different bars pouring beer and cocktails. Depending on the time of day one to two food trucks are available at the back of the property. There are several different seating areas- large picnic tables in the middle under the sails, small booth seating in a couple of open containers, a circle of chairs a round a firepit towards the front along the Truckee Riverwalk. So far it is pet friendly, on leashes. But be considerate of the time of day you go with your fur baby and avoid the crowded times. This is such a fun little hang out place. I try to avoid coming here on weekends though because it gets too crowded. I came on a tuesday with a group of friends and we had a great time! Bar offers a good selection of drinks. Not much of a beer drinker, so I opted for a cider - bartender suggested to try the guava one and it hit the spot! They also have 2 food trucks serving Tacos and Pizza. Our group ordered food from both food trucks. Carne Asada fries were so good from the taco truck! Definitely a must-try!
