This is one of my favorite places to frequent on any night of the week, but I especially love Fridays! They have karaoke on Friday nights and the best part is you actually get a turn to sing unlike West 2nd Street Bar. West 2nd Street Bar is always crawling with drunk 21 year olds screaming at the top of their lungs, and you almost have to bribe the DJ $20 to just be able to sing within the hour. I like the Library so much better because of this reason. The drink prices are not bad either. I love me a good Moscow Mule and the bartender makes them right. The hookah is not bad priced as well. Only $20 and it lasts us for about an hour and half and they are very attentive in making sure its not harsh and the coals are being turned. Overall, a great dive bar for playing pool, testing your voice at karaoke or just wanting to chill to have a drink and play pool. I recommend this place to anyone over 25 looking for great bar spot! read more

The 2 drinks I had tasted watered down but more Importantly there was a baby cockroach crawling on the side counter where my purse was while I'm playing pool. When I cashed out my tab I mentioned to a bartender about the cockroach and her response was; "there's roaches in every bar in this town." Touché, but I'd never seen one crawling on the counter in another bar scared it was going to crawl in my purse and me take it home. I won't be back. read more

Walked in to celebrate a friends wedding. First steps into the door the guy over the counter hit us with a loud I.Ds guys! We're a group of nearly 30 year olds I get carding however the approach was wrong. He also was rude when making drinks and on top of it all the drinks were terrible. Espresso martinis too sweet to drink, Moscow mule too sweet as well. We asked to comp at least one of the three espresso martinis and said it wasn't in his power. We're approximately 15 people bringing business to this bar. I was attracted by Yelp. This place looked fun to our surprise it's crickets. Avoid if possible. read more

Fucking amazing! Always a chill environment with cool ass people. The bartender is super friendly and always on point. I've met some wonderful people here and I always have an awesome time. While enjoying what downtown Reno has to offer, I stumbled across this location after visiting the park. I was in the mood for a dive bar, and this was closest. The staff was great and friendly, the environment was clean, and the customer base made me feel welcome. My only complaint would be the pour of my drink. I could not taste the liquor, although, for a $2.75 Happy Hour drink, I won't complain too much. read more

The bar was fun and full of energy. I came in with some gals to sing Karaoke. There wasn't a long line but many people that came in after us got to sing before us. The man handling the line seemed to be friendly with the other people who came in after us and would push them ahead of us. I don't mind a wait time and understand that many people want to sing and have fun; however, I don't like being pushed back and being skipped just because the person that got to skip us knows someone. Very disappointed with what happened tonight and I hope that in the future they will follow the list rather than letting their friends go first. It may seem silly, but we are all there to have fun and we rely on the staff to keep order (especially when most of the people in the bar have been drinking for a while). It just sucks when the staff lets there friends have priority over everyone else. read more

There is a new favorite (not so dive) dive bar in town. Previously "the waterfall" I was glad to see the facelift with the same local feel. We went in for a early happy hour and were impressed with the large selection of beers, including a sample of the "Angry Orchard Rosé". Later in the weekend we popped in for a delicious Hookah. Service and quality Is wonderful, nothing "dive bar" about that! The new owner West was lovely to boot! I plan to try out their DJ trivia. Pros: service, selection and great for affordable late night socializing Cons: if you hate dive bars, then it might not be for you. Well I'm not sure who the owner is but apparently he doesn't have a good reputation. Well here's my experience. I went in on a Saturday night with a few friends. The guy at the door was wearing a colorful shirt and pants and he had long curly ish hair. I'm assuming that is the owner, but he knew all the people I came in with and he hugged the guy in front of me and told him to come on in and then he saw me and was like, "oh, well, you're Asian, I don't like Asians, but you can go in" at first I was waiting for him to tell me he was joking but he was not and throughout the night he kept giving me dirty looks. So I left. Very rude. I rarely ever get weekends off since I work so early in the mornings. And I thought it would be nice to get out and have fun for a change well it wasn't worth it. I definitely will be finding out who this person is and letting everyone I know my experience. I'm still in shock. read more

This place is like home to me. It has a great open space so you don't feel confined like in some other bars. Everyone who works here is friendly. They have 2 pool tables and plenty of places to sit. There is a jukebox you can either pay or download an app to use. They have hookah, too. They have shows here sometimes and karaoke nights. Definitely check it out! read more

i always get happy when i can add another star to a review! well the library has been the most consistent bar that we have been to here. same friendly bartenders who are always quick, even when there are tons of a-holes such as my self in line waiting, especially during the crawls. the owner has been there both times we have been here and he was the same as before. funny and helpful. he remembered a conversation we had with him from before, and i didnt expect him to recognize us ! lets just say the chat was about... chewing tobacco,, and feet. lets just leave it at that ! they have belching beaver peanut butter stout ON NITRO !!!!!! i will keep coming here especially for that beer !! they do have alot of beers on tap, and its kinda hard to see the screen cause it changes often, but if u have a good eye u can see the tap handles. hooray for the library ! read more

They were very busy on a Friday night, but I feel the service was slow. I've been bartending for 7+ years and I could have handled that bar alone. Yet, it took us 10-20 minutes to get drinks because we had to wait for the bartender to serve and have drinks with a different group. I think they need better bartenders and pay attention to everyone, not just those who are drinking with the bartender. Let me just say; I have no problem with a drinking bartender... I've come to The Library Bar for a quick beer or nearing the end of the night, where I probably didn't "need" another beer, and have had a great time every time.
