We started with the catfish fritters, which were a really good way to kick off the meal. For our entrees, we tried the braised oxtail and the SavannahBlue fried chicken. Overall, I really enjoyed SavannahBlue: great atmosphere, flavorful food, and a solid choice for a date night in Detroit. I'd happily come back and try more of the menu.

The chicken still had a nice crisp to it, which is always a gamble with fried food. The flavor absolutely delivered: perfectly seasoned with that signature spicy kick that builds without overwhelming. Juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside--exactly what you hope for. The sides held their own too. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting. If I had one note, it would be that the spice level might catch you off guard if you're not expecting it. But personally, I love spicy food, so no complaints there. Overall, a great experience even via delivery. I'd definitely order again, and next time I'm in Detroit, I'd love to try it fresh in person.

I didn't know what to expect since the word 'bar' has been added to their name. I had looked at their menu at home so I knew what I was going to order! Broasted 1/2 chix, greens, sweet potatoes, and potatoes salad! It came with cornbread! It was all quite tasty! The greens were so freaking good! But they do have meat in them so keep that in mind. The chicken was hot and had just the right amount of seasoning. Yams were really good but a little too sweet for me so I couldn't finish (although I enjoyed them). My kids shared 2 plates of the fried chicken (5 wings per meal) and got Mac and cheese and greens. They loved the greens but didn't love the macaroni and cheese. They are picky and didn't like the seasoning on the mac and cheese. My husband ordered BBQ salmon and got greens and yams. Our waitress was attentive and super accommodating -- even handled a special dietary request for a hamburger with no issue. Most of us stuck with the classic chicken and waffles, and I originally ordered the red velvet pancakes... but a mix-up brought me the Belgian waffle and chicken instead -- and honestly? It was perfect. No complaints here! The waffle was light and airy with just the right crunch, and the fried chicken? Hot, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. That seasoning was everything. I skipped the Kool-Aid this time since I remembered it being a bit too sweet for me on my first visit, but the food more than made up for it.
