BUG INFESTATION AND LOUD CLUBS. I highly suggest you do not stay at this hotel. I had multiple issues, but there were two significant ones. First, my room was right above an extremely loud club as you can see in the video (even though the video doesn't do it justice). I was told that there were bars in the area but I literally had to wear ear plugs just to sleep. Never in my life have I stayed somewhere that bad in terms of noise. And then in the middle of the night I woke up with extreme itching all along my ankles. It was so bad that I could barely fall back asleep. Upon inspection, I had big red bug bites all over my ankles, which I've included pictures of. I felt so gross that there were bugs in my bed. A hotel has to be truly filthy in order to have a bug problem like that. Other issues include the USB phone chargers in the room not working, the "queen bed" just being two twin beds pushed together, and the shower setup flooding the bathroom. Maybe if this was a cheap budget hotel, I could accept some of these issues. But no, this was an expensive spot and was not at all worth the money.

We stayed here on our trip last month and we were less than impressed with the hotel and amenities. We are used to smaller style European hotels, but the rooms in the new building we stayed in are not much better than closets. The door to our room wouldn't open all the way because it hit the bedside table. The only place to put your suitcase was under the bed, and to get from one side of the room to the other, you had to actually climb over the bed since there wasn't a walkway. There also isn't a closet, a hang bar, or even a hanger in the room; absolutely nowhere to hang anything. The room was filled with vintage knick knacks to match the hotel theme, leaving less floor space and no counterspace for even a purse or backpack. The balcony is huge and a waste of space with the luxurious view of the electric lines. Probably my biggest issue was that most hotels leave a drywall only space between the elevator shaft and the first room, however, our room shared the wall directly meaning you felt the wall vibrate every time the elevator went up and down, plus the accompanying noise. All this for 500 a night, and they charged us for items in the mini bar that we never had; they just weren't stocked upon us arriving to the room in the first place. The service was average but no complaints with check in or out (we weren't billed for the missing items until we'd already left) tried to order coffee at the coffee bar in the lobby and the lady helping was really nice but not able to fulfill our order cause she said she actually doesn't work there.. not sure on that story. Overall, it's a cute theme for a hotel. I like the vintage look. I'm just not down with it replacing functionality and then giving an excuse to charge a price that far surpasses the worth.

    lovely cleaned patio!

DO NOT STAY HERE. I cannot reiterate this enough. STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Stay in a cardboard box under a bridge and you are bound to have a better time than our nightmarish stay at The Dean. Dublin accommodations aren't cheap, but what you'll save at The Dean compared to its pricier peers won't be worth the maddening inconvenience and frustration you'll endure there. We stayed in a Townhouse Balcony Super Room in the new annex wing and from the second we reached the hallway and smelled the foul stench of MOLD, we knew we had made a mistake. Then we discovered our room was 90 degrees (despite being a chilly 60 degrees outside), there were BIRD FECES splattered and crusted all over the balcony and smeared on its glass ledges, and directly next door was an ENORMOUS, ACTIVE CONSTRUCTION SITE that looked like a war film set. We immediately called the front desk to relay our concerns and the employee we reached quickly and condescending invalidated them one by one. He told us that we should be grateful we had a room in general and especially considering we were staying in the new building versus the main one, which, as the vast majority of other reviews address, PHYSICALLY VIBRATES thanks to a shared wall with an ALL-NIGHT DANCE CLUB next door. He hadn't received any complaints about construction noise -- only the CLOUDS OF DUST that fell over the balconies during work hours (starting weekdays at 7:00 a.m.). A nice coating of dust and lord knows what else for our avian fecal Jackson Pollock painting of a balcony. Not a health hazard whatsoever! Over the course of our heinous three nights at The Dean, the faulty A/C was never fixed. Nor was the bird crap cleaned. But none of these problems, not even the early morning construction site noise, was the worst part of our stay. Even the room's various deficiencies -- no closet, spare space to store luggage/clothing/anything, clunky furniture that cluttered the already pint-sized space, a bathroom sliding door that had a penchant for sliding off its hinges -- didn't compare to the central problem at The Dean. That would be the hotel's completely unprofessional, rude, and inept managerial and front desk staff. Every attempt we made to request assistance to resolve our concerns was met with the poorest customer service we've ever experienced. The staff consistently gaslit us, saying that they'd address our concerns immediately -- to no avail, naturally. When pressed for updates due to the lack of progress, we were made to feel demanding and unreasonable -- all for wanting our room to be below 90 degrees in the evenings so we could, you know, SLEEP. Or for someone to clean up the balcony's bird feces mural that prevented us from ever using an extra amenity we paid for. Completely demanding and unreasonable behavior! Of all the lies we were told at this dumpster fire of a hotel, the funniest was that all the balconies received weekly deep cleanings -- that it couldn't possibly be as dirty as we suggested. You can see in the photos attached below that the balcony, much like the managerial and front desk staff, was full of sh*t.

Cliff notes for people who don't read -Don't stay if noise bothers you -Probably not good for kids -very centrally located -great lobby -great bed Stayed here our first night in Dublin, which mind you was a Friday night. My girlfriend warned me before we booked the hotel that it was on a busy street, and also housed a nightclub. So I feel like a lot of these reviews people are posting are a little odd complaining about the noise, I mean really it says right on there website about the noise. I knew I would be very jet lagged and could careless about the noise, which honestly was not that bad, I could hear the bass from the club, but thats about it. I mean they seem to really have a handle on separating the club people from the rooms. I have stayed in four star hotels where there were drunk people roaming the hallways talking loudly until 3am so I feel The Dean really has this under control. As for the room very well laid out, shower was wonderful. Even though I did not use the record player it was a very nice touch. The mini bar and snack selection was very well thought out and was very pleased by the free water upon checking in and also in the room. Honestly its small touches like that, that really make you feel welcomed. The bed was very comfortable and the tv is a smart tv which is nice because honestly who watches cable anymore. The lobby in my opinion was my favorite part, I know crazy right. They have a well appointed bar in there nice lounge chairs, but my favorite thing there is a communal table where you can charge your phone, and laptop which is great when you are coming off an international flight, and you have work emails to catch up on while you wait for your check in.

    Even the corridors are cool

I LOVED The Dean Hotel - it oozes class without even trying. If it had a beard it would be the best-groomed beard in town, if it had a man bun it would rival a woman's hair and if I came across it on Tinder I would swipe right every single time! What I'm trying to say is The Dean is absolutely unbelievable both in terms of facilities and service. It manages to have style and class while remaining chic, which is a very difficult balance to maintain. As soon as you walk in to The Dean you feel like you have arrived home, the casually dressed staff have a real easy manner about them, there is an internal sunshine that exudes form them all and you can just tell that they are happy to come to work in The Dean every day. Every single occasion I talked to a member of staff they were absolutely charming and extremely accommodating. There's free (quick) Wifi in the lobby area so if you're on business you can chill in the comfortable surrounding and get your emails sorted before you head off to the office. As you probably gathered from my intro, the hotel itself is a hipsters paradise everything is quirky and unique - even the typography they use on the signs. The corridors are dark and moody with mirrors on the ceilings creating a spacious feeling. My room was beautiful - decorated in a rustic minimal fashion that closely resembled a New York loft apartment. They pay real attention to detail in the rooms, there's real luxury but you never really feel like you are in a 'posh' hotel. I had a mounted smart TV, a record player with vinyl and an amp as well as a fully stocked snack bar featuring some old school treats (tea cakes, popcorn and mints). There's complimentary pod coffee on offer as well as so you don't have to dive in to the mini bar if you don't want to. My sleeping experience was perfect - I was on the third floor and could hear a wee bit of noise coming from the restaurant but nothing outrageous. - There's some earplugs provided if you're a light sleeper - alternatively you could join the party because every night is a party at The Dean Hotel!

    Nice simple menu

What a great spot to have in our new vibrant Dublin. It reminds me a lot of the Hoxton in London which is a great thing, but I certainly don't want to write a review based on comparisons. This is a review for the downstairs bar / reception / lunch area. I worked from here the other day and it's just exactly what I've been looking for. It's very funky and nicely lit, with lots of small tables that fit one or two, presumably designed for meetings and folks working from there. I'm told they will all have plug points as well which will be brilliant - you can tell they don't have it all quite together just yet, but it's coming. The wifi is really fast with no password which is a Godsend. They have an excellent salad buffet type scenario over lunch. The food was was a really high standard - fresh, lots of choice, good quality ingredients and creatively put together. You can either buy a side plate and add it to their rotisserie, or pay a tenner (I think?) for a large plate and refill as many times as you like. The staff were engaged, professonal and friendly. I'm reserving the five star til they have everything sorted, but so far so good!

I had an absolute blast at this well-located hotel during the Yelp EU Community Manager Week. First of all, I'm an easy sleeper so I liked the hotel. If you have difficulties sleeping, the Dean will not be your cup of tea. There's a nightclub in the building and you can easily sing along with the greatest songs from your room till 4am. That being said, the hotel is beautiful with a Scandinavian industrial vibe going on. The staff is so helpful and friendly and the panorama restaurant Sophie's is pretty amazing. The blue conference room was ideal for our 50+ group, well equipped, well lit and well catered. About the room: loved the bathroom and bunk bed, but I missed a proper closet to hang my stuff. (I stayed at the Dean for four nights). If you're a couple of friends who love to go crazy in Dublin for a weekend, this is your hotel.

Fantastic new hotel on Harcourt street. Totally different from any other Dublin hotel. There is a bar in the ground floor, function room on the first floor and Sophie's restaurant on the top floor. The decor is really unique - very modern and stylish but not prohibitively so. The restaurant on the top floor is breathtaking with views down onto all of the little streets in Dublin. Absolutely my new favourite spot. The service was also really good

Even the check in area is swanky!

I've been toing and froing as to what The Dean deserves and I sadly can't go above a 3. The decor and overall vibe of the hotel is a 5 without a doubt and the rooms are cute, modern and comfortable. The hotel is also fantastically located right in the middle of south Dublin, you pretty much can't get a better location. You may be thinking then why only a 3? Alas, the nightclub. No not the hotels nightclub, I'm not that naive as to diminish a review based that however the Dean hotel is sadly built on top of a nightclub, and by the sounds of it a popular one. I struggled to sleep on the 4 nights I was there, spared a little bit of punishment by the earbuds they provided but still left needing a good 5 of my 6 recommended hours! I really wanted to love it and walking in on the first day I said to myself this is definitely going to be a 5 star place, sadly not. The staff were brilliant though, friendly and courteous at all times and probably make this review a 3 star as appose to a 2.

After browsing through different hotels The Dean was the perfect fit for me. The location is a prime. I pretty much walked everywhere. Okay I read the reviews before booking this hotel. I knew about the noise level in advance so I brought a pair of earplugs :) which I didn't need cause the hotel had a pair by my night stand. If you are a light sleeper just use the earplugs! The front desk staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Yes I absolutely loved my stay at The Dean. Try the restaurant upstairs Sophie's and strike a conversation at the bar with the bartender's who gives great travel tips.

Ohhhhh what a pickle this review is. There's two sides to this story and I have to be honest... Side one: The Good. This hotel is seriously cool, very Shoreditch with quirky art work on the walls and the overall vibe. The staff are young, hip and very friendly, the decor is black - lots of shiny black, and the lobby area/bar is dimly lit with low furniture - as I said, very Shoreditch cool! Although my room was very small, I actually kinda liked my room - it was quirky. It was a box bed with a bunk bed on top which I didn't sleep in but I thought was cool. Bathroom was a great size and the shower was lovely but there were a few negatives (see below). Sophie's Bar on the top floor is truly stunning. There's a 360 view of Dublin and they have a beautiful terrace area. I have no doubt that they are very busy in the summer and rumour has it the food is good too! The hotel is kept clean and to a good standard, rooms changed daily and from an outsider looking in this hotel is the bees knees. Now to side two: The Bad. Bed sheets - the sheet wasn't big enough for the bed so I ended up battling with it every night. Highly frustrating. There was nowhere to hang clothes in the bedroom so I had to use the coat rack - although I liked the room, I think it was just a tad too small and if there would have been two of us sharing we wouldn't have fit! The noise. The Dean had been dealt a very bad hand as it is literally slap bang in the middle of not one but two night clubs, yes two! So if you're a big fan of sleeping then I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Sure they provide ear plugs but sadly they don't help the vibration coming from the base. Breakfast: I felt like the breakfast food could have been prepared slightly better. I realise there were a lot of us but no one likes soggy bread. Room staffing: we reserved a number of the rooms in The Dean for presentations/training etc and I felt like they weren't manned very well. We had to keep running up and down the stairs to ask for the water to be refilled and when we had ordered lunch it came 40 minutes late. Just a bit slack. It truly is a shame as this is a hell of a beautiful hotel but it's just too many things letting it down. I

This review is of The Penthouse at The Dean Hotel which I was lucky enough to stay in for 4 nights in January. I have to say, I was *super* excited to be staying in the Penthouse. Bordering-on-hyperventilating excited. The Penthouse is strangely located on level 3 of the hotel (the top floor is actually a bar/restaurant) and is more like an apartment with a bedroom at each end. The middle space is a really cool set up - large dining table, awesome couch with a bendy TV and kitchen. This proved to be a really awesome place to chill out during the week and the couch/TV was the highlight for me - the fabric of the couch was insane and really comfortable. On initial impressions, the bedroom was amazing. A massive bed, a freestanding bath and really slick interiors. But even after a few hours in it, a few niggles became apparent. Firstly, there was a large red wine stain on the rug in my room right next to the head of the bed. It was one of the first things I noticed when I walked into the room. Surely they could have even just re-arranged the rug so that it was hidden on the other side? The layout of the room and the placement of the bath meant that you had to walk the long way around to get to the bathroom as the bath was blocking the path from bed to loo/shower, which again, was just a bit weird. There was an ill-fitting cover on the bed and all up, it started to feel quite a bit less luxurious than what you'd expect of a penthouse stay. The other thing that bugged me was the room service. We were staying for 4 nights and for some reason, room service never topped up the fridges with more drinks. They also didn't replenish the loo roll which meant I had to ask twice at reception for more. Awkward. Finally, as everyone else has mentioned - this hotel is noisy. Seriously, why they thought a hotel was going to be a good idea right on top of a nightclub I don't know. I personally didn't have too much trouble sleeping and they do provide ear plugs, but I know a lot of people in other rooms had issues. The rest of The Dean is pretty cool - I would visit the bar for a drink, for sure and there's a cool space in reception. Staff were friendly enough and the only real issue we had was on Black Monday we couldn't get back into the hotel as they'd locked all the doors because of the club night on. Thankfully they rescued us after not too long. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to stay here again but for our needs, it was really handy.

We arrived from an overnight flight at roughly 9:30 a.m. and they were still prepping rooms but they stored our luggage and recommended a location to grab something to eat which was very good. Upon returning about 45 minutes later our room was ready and we found the room to be meticulous with a very comfy king bed, mini fridge, tv, and ample size bathroom. I saw a few other reviews that stated the bathroom doors would not stay open but I learned that is by design and we just asked for an extra towel that we used to prop the door open when needed. It serves to point out that the entire hotel is under a complete remodel so many of the rooms and features of the hotel are shinny new. They do offer breakfast in the morning and for the evening they do have a restaurant and bar. Just walk out the front door if you want a livelier crowd and more restaurant options The location of the hotel is prime as it offers proximity the River Liffey, plenty of shops, pubs, and attractions. We walked to the Jameson (25 min walk) and Guinness (30 min walk) factories as it also gave us the ability to take in things along the walk. You are close to Trinity College and both St Patrick's and Christ Church Cathedrals. lastly, I cannot say enough about the staff, Anne at the front desk was a warm and inviting pleasure and very professional, Marvin the concierge and bellman was super helpful and pleasantly informative, the house staff was attentive and always looking to make sure we were comfortable. It is in a convenient location nearby many tourist attractions, such as Temple Bar, Dublin's castle, St Patrick's Cathedral, etc. it was also a short walking distance to our car rental pick up at St Stephen's Green shopping centre. We booked this hotel for the first day of our trip. We arrived in the morning so our room wasn't ready for check in yet, but we were able to drop off our luggage in the lobby. This made it easy for us as we could continue exploring according to our plan (we took a 30 minute train ride over to Howth right after dropping our bags). Coming back to the hotel around 5pm, our room was ready and we were able to nap a bit before dinner. The superior room we booked was located in a renovated section of the hotel and had access to a shared outdoor patio right across from our hotel room. We didn't have time to use the patio but it was spacious and it seemed no one was using it whenever we passed by. Our hotel room was very clean, large (great for us as we had plenty of luggage) and we had two complementary water bottles in the room. We had breakfast the next morning and it was buffet style. There is a section if you want fresh made omelettes. Lots of variety I think but I stuck with the classic Irish breakfast items. So delicious and fresh! Check out process - we had a bit of a hiccup as I had given my credit card for authorization for breakfast charges when I checked in. The staff was asking for my credit card again which confused me as I had already paid. Despite the confusion, the service at Radisson was great and I would definitely recommend this hotel for fellow tourists!

Designed with a relaxed atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the hotel's formal Georgian drawing rooms, it offers one of the finest breakfasts I've ever enjoyed. The buffet showcases exceptional Irish produce, including a wonderful selection of regional honeys, artisanal yogurts, and kefirs sourced from counties across Ireland. The freshly prepared Full Irish Breakfast was, without question, the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked and featuring outstanding local ingredients. The hotel's wellness facilities are equally impressive. The indoor swimming pool is one of the most beautiful hotel pools I've encountered, complemented by an excellent sauna, steam room, fitness center, and luxurious spa that provide a tranquil retreat after a day exploring Dublin. The Merrion's setting is spectacular. Occupying four meticulously restored Georgian townhouses alongside a contemporary Garden Wing, it combines architectural beauty with every modern comfort. Yet what truly distinguishes the property is its extraordinary art collection. Housing Ireland's largest private collection of 19th- and 20th-century Irish art, the hotel feels as much like a museum as it does a luxury hotel. Among my favorite pieces were Sean Scully's striking Vertical Stripes, Jack B. Yeats' magnificent The Hour of Sleep, Louis le Brocquy's haunting Woman in White, and works by Paul Henry, Roderic O'Conor, Mainie Jellett, and William Scott. In the courtyard garden, Rowan Gillespie's bronze sculpture of James Joyce provides a fitting tribute to one of Ireland's literary giants. Wandering the corridors and elegant reception rooms became an experience in itself. What impressed me most, however, was the service. The staff possess an extraordinary ability to anticipate guests' needs without ever being intrusive. Our room was impeccably maintained each day, with thoughtful evening turndown service, replenished water, perfectly arranged slippers, and countless small touches that elevated our stay. One moment particularly stood out. An elderly family member who uses a wheelchair came to visit us during our stay. The compassion, patience, and professionalism shown by every member of the staff made what could have been a challenging visit completely effortless. Their commitment to accessibility and genuine care was deeply appreciated and reflected the hotel's philosophy that true luxury lies in making every guest feel welcome. The Merrion is more than simply Dublin's premier luxury hotel--it is a destination in its own right. With world-class dining, outstanding wellness facilities, museum-quality art, impeccable accommodations, and service that consistently exceeds expectations, it represents Irish hospitality at its absolute finest. I would return without hesitation, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

From the moulding to the kind staff to the extensive art collection to the exquisite linens on the plush bed, you are in for a treat. Now, if you expect "modern perfection" please stay elsewhere. There is history in this building. The creaks and cracks are called character. Aka soul. And I wouldn't want it any other way. The icing on the cake is that the Merrion is part of the Leading Hotels of the World Collection. That seal is another indicator of excellence. Be sure to visit the Bar No. 23 and sit by the fire with a cocktail. And bring a swimsuit for a dip in the indoor pool, sauna and steam room.

Check-in was early and we were told they would call us when a room was available (and that we were upgraded). Since they knew we flew in on a long flight, they pointed us to specific restrooms to use to freshen up and held our luggage while we went to grab lunch to pass some time. The room was lovely with plenty of space, lots of windows for natural light and comfortable bedding. You really see how they earned their 5 star rating. Every staff member we interacted with, from the front desk, to the gentleman who handled our bags to the room service team bringing food- went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed, ask us how our time thus far had been, and make recommendations. What struck me as well was how quiet the hotel was for sleeping- no elevator noises, neighbors slamming doors or anything to disturb us. A lovely gesture that really meant a lot to us was that they sent up a plate with macaroons and sweets with Happy Anniversary written on the plate. Speaking of plates- the food is great too! We enjoyed the vegetarian Irish breakfast and pancakes with fresh juices, fruits and croissants! Our favorite hotel stay yet, we felt at home, truly enjoyed staying in the room as much as we did exploring Dublin, and had such kind interactions with everyone we spoke with.
