Pros: Great location and walkable to most sites Excellent, top notch service Beautifully appointed rooms and lobby Multiple restaurants All employees are friendly and professional Cons: We asked about sticky toffee pudding and the concierge reserved us a table at a local restaurant. When we got there, we were told they don't have this on the menu :( Pro tip: It's on the pricier side, but well worth it! They even turn down your bed at night and give you slippers!

The Merrion is one of my favourite dublin city wedding venues. The hotel is stunning, the rooms are elegant, and the gardens are such a peaceful escape right in the middle of the city. The staff are super welcoming and professional. It is a brilliant choice for couples planning a wedding in Dublin because it has that mix of classic style and warm hospitality that makes the whole day feel special.

Dad with the lovely Merrion staff!

Writing review for my parents who stayed at the Merrion in October 23 on my dad's last international trip. My dad had dementia and spent time on that trip in a wheelchair and the team at the Merrion were angels to him and my mom. They were helpful and sincere and we are very grateful for their assistance and kindness. Because he was not very mobile they ate in the hotel restaurant for several meals and praised the food and service and raved about the dessert part of an afternoon tea and how they should have had a tray each! Thank you for your comfort and kindness. My Dad passed this month and we were looking at photos of him and once again remembered how special the Merrion is. Thank you

Art inspired pastries at Afternoon Tea

Hotel stay was wonderful, this may be one of my favorite hotels. The staff was accommodating, the rooms comfortable, and the food wonderful. Good location, we saw must things by walking around the area. We used the car very little while staying here. We enjoyed the Afternoon Tea, which is a little different since the pastries are inspired from the art collection in the hotel. This was interesting and fun.

Matcha mocktails

Hands down, this is the best afternoon tea experience I have ever had. The food and tea were amazing (please try the chai and puh er if you get the chance), and the service was even better. My husband and I felt so well taken care of. We will definitely return the next time we are in Dublin again.

The Merrion Hotel was a wonderfully luxurious hotel to stay at during our first two nights in Ireland. Prior to our 8am arrival we knew our rooms would most likely not be ready so we were dreading walking around the city after spending the night on an airplane. The Merrion was kind enough to offer us access to the hotel's spa so that we could shower before exploring Dublin. I cannot express how much this small gesture was appreciated! Once our room was available at 3pm we could not have been more pleased. Our rooms were gorgeous and stocked with plush bedding and towels, high-end bath toiletries, and comfortable bath robes. Everything was very crisp and clean, yet the room had a very welcoming feel. The lounge is open 24 hours for all hotel guests so if you are in the need of a cocktail or a snack at any hour the hotel is available at your beck and call. We had the pleasure of enjoying cocktails by the fire one evening and it was wonderful. The service is so friendly and attentive. All of the staff was so friendly during our stay and would always go out of their way to say hello or offer help. Besides the amazing rooms and service we also enjoyed the location of our hotel. The Merrion Hotel is a few minutes (walking) from Merrion Square Park, Stephen's Green, Trinity College and Grafton Street. The bars in Temple Bar were about 10 minutes away and St. Patrick's and Christ Church were a 15 minute walk. The only time we took a taxi was to go to The Guinness Storehouse. Would definitely book a room at The Merrion Hotel in Dublin again!

Everything has been beautiful. Service standards are high. Centrally located. Live music in the cellar bar. Lots of little 'snugs' ... looking forward to trying the food! I think very important for a hotel- the rooms are large, beds very comfortable and well decorated.

Stayed here for a week on a business trip to Dublin. Located in a great area of Dublin, everything is a short walk away. Directly across from the Department of the Taoiseach (High Government Building) on Merrion Street. Service was impeccable throughout my stay. The room had all the necessary accoutrements one could need. Clean, well kept and maintained throughout. Turn down service each night. The staff is extremely helpful and polite. If you're not adventurous or just plain tired, the hotel offers several restaurant options. The hotel also offers a health club, pool and spa. The sitting rooms look awesome to catch up and enjoy afternoon tea. The wood fireplaces add to the ambience. The Merrion is the choice for visiting diplomats and politicians. One night during my stay, Angela Merkel was in town, along with her motorcade, a hovering helicopter and security detail. I was kindly escorted to my floor that night.

An unforgettable stay! We had the most amazing time while visiting the Merrion hotel during our trip to Ireland. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Our room was spacious and very clean. My favorite part of our stay was the incredible staff. They catered to our every need. From the moment we walked in they made us feel right at home. They gave us some great recommendations to local shops and restaurants and helped us with anything we needed. We had breakfast at the Garden room restaurant and it was delicious. We didn't have reservations for afternoon tea but they were able to accommodate us and squeeze us in and I'm sure glad they did because it was amazing. We also had drinks at the bar 23 and the service was excellent. The bartenders were very friendly and made a wonderful drink called "the flip". If you stay there it is a must try! I can't say enough great things about this hotel. Thank you for the hospitality and wonderful stay! We will be back!

For the price, my hotel room smelled awful and it was super noisy from the HVAC outside. I would take the noise of Temple Bar over that. I wasn't really impressed with the decor. Everything was plain and bland. It lacked charm. It was ok but I will look for another option on my next Dublin trip.

We arrived from an overnight flight at roughly 9:30 a.m. and they were still prepping rooms but they stored our luggage and recommended a location to grab something to eat which was very good. Upon returning about 45 minutes later our room was ready and we found the room to be meticulous with a very comfy king bed, mini fridge, tv, and ample size bathroom. I saw a few other reviews that stated the bathroom doors would not stay open but I learned that is by design and we just asked for an extra towel that we used to prop the door open when needed. It serves to point out that the entire hotel is under a complete remodel so many of the rooms and features of the hotel are shinny new. They do offer breakfast in the morning and for the evening they do have a restaurant and bar. Just walk out the front door if you want a livelier crowd and more restaurant options The location of the hotel is prime as it offers proximity the River Liffey, plenty of shops, pubs, and attractions. We walked to the Jameson (25 min walk) and Guinness (30 min walk) factories as it also gave us the ability to take in things along the walk. You are close to Trinity College and both St Patrick's and Christ Church Cathedrals. lastly, I cannot say enough about the staff, Anne at the front desk was a warm and inviting pleasure and very professional, Marvin the concierge and bellman was super helpful and pleasantly informative, the house staff was attentive and always looking to make sure we were comfortable. The Brooks comes with my highest recommendation.

If you come prepared, they have a concierge and a genealogist on site to help you find your ancestors from Ireland. Many famous people and politicians have stayed in these walls as well. That said, this was a truly special time of year when they're getting ready for Christmas! They took such care and were meticulous with their decorations. It was delightful to come home to each evening. Experience: 1. They will tidy your room everyday 2. Turn down service begins around 6 pm (they will get your slipper, robe, bed, water and chocolate ready for nighttime) 3. Their small guest room includes a king size bed that is superbly fluffy. 4. The deluxe guest room has a deep tub for soaking Staff: The entire front desk staff is very helpful, welcoming and efficient. Marta was especially helpful and kind throughout my stay! As for the porters were just right with their assistance. I did always feel bad that I had not gotten any Euro on my trip, but I will mention Karl was fantastic! Always helpful and nice to talk with. Michele in the health center was informative and helped me find all of the rooms for their current gym as it's under renovation. Facilities: They have a 5 star spa on site that includes one of the best relaxation rooms I have experienced in the world. It's the view and seating that make it amazing. They give you a blanket, fruit, spa water -- all while looking over st. Stephen's park... bliss! (I went on a rainy day which added to the ambiance) The facial with Elemis product was my favorite. PRO TIP! if you're from the states and liked Elemis, there is now an Elemis outlet store at Kildare Village, which is a short train ride away. I made it there in 35 minutes. DINING: Again, 5 star experience and the restaurant is always packed. Chef makes superb food and I thoroughly enjoyed the room service of fish and chips. TONS of fish, perfectly battered and fried. If I could give the shelbourne a 10 out of 5 I would.

It is in a convenient location nearby many tourist attractions, such as Temple Bar, Dublin's castle, St Patrick's Cathedral, etc. it was also a short walking distance to our car rental pick up at St Stephen's Green shopping centre. We booked this hotel for the first day of our trip. We arrived in the morning so our room wasn't ready for check in yet, but we were able to drop off our luggage in the lobby. This made it easy for us as we could continue exploring according to our plan (we took a 30 minute train ride over to Howth right after dropping our bags). Coming back to the hotel around 5pm, our room was ready and we were able to nap a bit before dinner. The superior room we booked was located in a renovated section of the hotel and had access to a shared outdoor patio right across from our hotel room. We didn't have time to use the patio but it was spacious and it seemed no one was using it whenever we passed by. Our hotel room was very clean, large (great for us as we had plenty of luggage) and we had two complementary water bottles in the room. We had breakfast the next morning and it was buffet style. There is a section if you want fresh made omelettes. Lots of variety I think but I stuck with the classic Irish breakfast items. So delicious and fresh! Check out process - we had a bit of a hiccup as I had given my credit card for authorization for breakfast charges when I checked in. The staff was asking for my credit card again which confused me as I had already paid. Despite the confusion, the service at Radisson was great and I would definitely recommend this hotel for fellow tourists!
