Let me start with WOW. So lucky to have selected this hotel for our trip and we were never disappointed. Staff is amazing and displays the perfect level of attentiveness from every segment of the hotel; entry, front desk, housekeeping, food service, all of it. Beautiful building with well appointed rooms and excellent HVAC. Great location across from the park and a short walk to the shopping district and tour bus/public transportation. I cannot recommend the Shelbourne any more highly. We are looking forward to a return trip and our stay here. 6 STARS!

Wow!! Everything was perfect! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Room was lovely and had a Christmas tree in it! Large bathroom and very clean. Walking distance to everything you need and then some! Breakfast was included with room and was excellent!

What a fantastic stay at the best hotel in Dublin. It was a flawless experience from start to finish. The only hiccup was our early check-in, which didn't happen. The hotel: nice sized rooms, well-appointed and beautifully decorated for the holidays. It was also quiet in the rooms, but common areas were always crowded and it was nearly impossible to get into the bars and restaurants later in the week. They said this time of year is when they get more local traffic, and since their bars and restaurants are small, it makes it hard to go relax over a drink and appetizers. Luckily, they have a residence lounge, which was mostly available except for one night when it was closed for a private event. We took advantage of the residence lounge (1824 Bar) but note they don't offer food, just table nibbles like crackers. We were in room 661 and the view was meh. We had to keep our curtains closed because we were right by an office building and could see people working. To be honest, we were so close if their monitors were turned we might've been able see what they were working on. The staff: We ate breakfast at the hotel in The Saddle room and the service staff was top notch, very attentive and professional. Several times we enjoyed drinks and oysters at No. 27 The Shelbourne Bar and service was generally good. As I mentioned, later in the week it became impossible to get in. The 1824 Bar staff was a highlight of our week and we visited nearly every night. The maid service and turndown was stealth in the very best way. We also asked for ice and it was delivered in short order. For the maids we left tips to thank them for their service. The food: everything we ate at the restaurants and bars was really tasty with the highlight being their oysters. A letdown was their lobster, which was over cooked and very chewy. That was the only bad thing we had. The breakfast buffet was pretty sizable and you can order off the menu if you wanted something like eggs Benedict or an omelette. We were booked under The Shelbourne experience so breakfast was included with our stay. I also ordered a few of their blended juices, which weren't included in the breakfast so paid out of pocket. They were really good blends! As far as value for the amount we paid for our stay, I felt the prices were fair for the service and experience. I'd book this hotel again and again. Other hotels should send staff to The Shelbourne to see how it's done and what great service looks like.

Superior Service, Location and, yes, Value We have stayed at multiple top hotels in Dublin over the years. I'm kicking myself for not starting at the Shelbourne. The suites we had at the Shelbourne combined with its central location and overall hospitality were incredible. As good as the hotel is, I believe it is an even better value than its marketing conveys. One example - the breakfast offered in the Saddle Room is the best hotel guest breakfast I have had. Even though it is buffet style, everything is fresh and of superior quality. The food is served right where multiple chefs are preparing and cooking the items. I don't believe anyone would know this unless they stay at the hotel.

I've been here many times but this year I decided to spend Christmas here with my family. 5 days. Would I do it again for Christmas yes but I'd change the dates slightly. The food is great but the junior staff have to work so in the main bar and restaurant it was slow and chaotic for no reason. My photos are self explanatory. Prices high €25 for a sandwich. €1000+ a night for a basic room. Reservations needed for all meals even for guests.

My daughter wanted to try an authentic tea experience while we were on holiday and we couldn't have been more pleased with the Shelbourne's version. The dining room in which it is served is sun-filled and lovely. The tea sandwiches and desserts were delicious and plentiful as they would bring more upon simply asking; and the presentation was unsurpassed, as the desserts were not only delectable, but also exquisite. The tea selection was extensive and varied. Our server was most efficient and personable. The woman dining next to us said she had just had afternoon tea at a well-known location in Paris the previous week and the Shelbourne was far better. Treat yourself to this unforgettable experience, as you won't regret it.

Came here a few days before Christmas for an afternoon tea. Really recommend it! There was so food. You can order extra sandwhiches as many as you like. The scones were one of the best I've tried in Dublin and the desserts were great too!

King suite complete with fine linens, robes, slippers, soaking tub, & 24-hour room service. Live here for a minute! I keep coming back to this, maybe it's simply life during a pandemic... tomorrow is never guaranteed so live for today. There may not be many opportunities to treat ourselves to extra special moments... the finer things in life, so to speak... oh, but this location will afford you to the opportunity to do just that. Beautiful location, iconic reputation, wonderful service from the front desk staff, bell staff, and restaurant staff! Well done.

Just stopped for an espresso but have been here before and love the place. Feel like a part of Irish history!

I was in town for business and decided to extend my stay and see a friend who popped over from the UK. I always believe you only live once and checked myself into the Shelbourne. This is an historic hotel that has hosted previous dignitaries and is across from St. Stephens Green. It's not far from lots of things to see. The rooms are nicely sized and there was enough room for me to work and also had decent internet speed. The weather was meh and my friend and I had breakfast in the hotel - meals were great and we also had lunch there one afternoon as it poured. I love fish and chips and mushy peas and it was truly delightful. Next time I'm in town, I'll do the same. Extend my stay and check myself into the Shelbourne.

Take me back!! The most amazing hotel in Dublin. Perfect walking distance to all sights and sounds of the city. Right next to the park as well. Service was top notch as well. The room / suite was to die for and after an unexpected flight cancellation the hotel quickly worked to accommodate us for another night. We will be back!

Lovely hotel in perfect location. Miscues on service were a surprise, but the manager rectified it the next day.

This intriguing mode of entry really roused my interest. Upon entry, ascend the white-washed walls laden with a whole conglomerate of paintings and photographs old and new. The Back Loft is a bright and roomy multi-disciplinary loft located at the back of La Catedral Studios. It is a multi-purpose space for the arts in a reclaimed Victorian industrial loft. Refurbished to a bare minimum to preserve the raw fabric of its past time charm, this inspired space is an unconventional artists' playground which embraces any art related project. The space may be hired for art exhibitions, live art events, theatre plays and rehearsals, workshops, intimate music gigs, dance, life drawing, photo shoots, film location and functions, to mention a few. The Back Loft is particularly open to experimentations and to adventurous site-specific work, to individual and collectives' curated projects and is an ideal springboard for emerging artists. I recently attended a photo exhibition here organized by a college friend who was able to get her hands on the venue relatively easily. Since its establishment in 2005, the Back Loft has played host to a great array of events independently curated by individuals and collectives. From what she said the studios offered a nurturing and supportive environment with 24 hr/7 day access, wi-fi, visibility on the studios' blog, kitchen and chill out space, free attendance at the back loft events, participation in an open studio event at Culture Night, negotiable rates for hire of the Back Loft and free access to the Back Loft for private use. I have attended a separate function here where I witnessed the use of one projector, one sound system (mixing desk and two speakers), two microphone stands, one microphone, one upright acoustic piano and a rack of gallery spotlights to further emphasise it's unique resourcefulness. From a punter's point of view the space's great natural light as a result of sky-lights running the length of the space and original pine timber flooring provide the ideal backdrop to witness pioneering artwork like no other.

For centuries, it was the headquarters of English (and eventually British) rule in Ireland. In 1684, a large fire destroyed a large portion of the castle. Instead of matching the original Gothic style, most of it was rebuilt using a Georgian style, similar to what you'd find in the French Palace of Versailles! It's quite the contrast. When you visit Dublin Castle, you can choose to explore it in two ways: with a self-guided tour to the state apartments or with a scheduled guided tour that visits the Viking Excavation, the Chapel Royal, and the State Apartments. When you first enter the courtyard, you'll immediately see the newer Georgian architecture in the neat red brick buildings surrounding the square. From the 13th century to the early 20th century, the castle was under British control. It served from being a royal palace and parliament to a prison. Dublin Castle was eventually handed over to General Michael Collins on the 16th of January in 1922. Collins was a soldier and a politician who lead the Irish people through their fight for Independence Dublin Castle plays a huge role in Ireland's history and a walk around the grounds is time well spent. Today the castle is a government complex and tourist attraction. Stroll through the famous Chester Beatty Library if time permits
