This is a nice hotel centrally located in Dublin. We loved the bed and pillows. So comfy which is high up there for me in importance. The room was very clean as was the whole hotel. It is a lovely hotel and nicely appointed. Most of the staff working at the hotel were helpful and pleasant. However some of front desk staff were not the most well trained compared to other staff we have encountered at hotels we have stayed at in Europe. It was an expensive room and it was quite small. Did have a nice bathroom. It was hard to move around in there along with my partner. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had high quality food. There were plenty of choices of yummy things to eat including some vegatarian options. The best part was how quiet our room was which means they had great sound proofing. Over all a good stay. We found Dublin was busy and like a typical big city and the hotel was easy access to all of that. There we're homeless people haging out right next door to the hotel just something to be aware of. read more

Inside, there's a Courtyard Restaurant, Brunswick Bar & Lounge, and a Courtyard Garden. The best rooms are executive supporting 3-4 adults located above and historic fire brigade. I stayed here a few weeks ago while on vacation. The staff were incredibly helpful before and throughout my stay. I was able to get quick responses via email about luggage storage (I had an early landing in Dublin) and transport to the hotel (I would recommend Air Coach Buses). The hotel is a quick and safe walk to Trinity College and Temple Bar. We opted to book our stay with breakfast included, which was super reasonable. On days where we had early bus tour pickups, they were able to provided a "grab and go" style breakfast, which was really helpful. As expected, the rooms were clean and modern too. read more

We ate breakfast there every morning, there was a great selection of ready to eat food and we could order things like porridge or eggs to be fresh made and brought to the table. We also ate a lunch and dinner in the bar. The room was a good size. Only complaint was not enough counter space in the bathroom, clearly not a deal breaker. The beds were comfortable. Robes and slippers provided. It's in a great location, easy to walk and access public transport. It's above a fire station but you really don't hear that at all. Very kid and family friendly. This hotel is located in a busy area. But it is an easy walking distance for a lot to do. There are restaurants and bars within walking distance no need to get a taxi, and the staff was very friendly when we arrived. The hallway always had a wet smell. The elevator needed to be faster. We took the stairs, and they were smaller in size. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. We were lucky that the AC was working to keep the room cool during the day. At night, it was a lot cooler, but we heard other guests had a problem with the AC, but we didn't. The decor in the room was very chic and cute, the bathroom was small, and the towels were thin and small. You can hear guests in other rooms if they speak loudly, which is a lot. I booked this hotel through Hotwire. Wasn't sure exactly where I wanted to stay in Dublin, but I only had three nights and wanted to stay pretty central for convenience sake. The staff was generally friendly and helpful, but this hotel wasn't really for me. I'm not sure about the person that checked me in, but she was chatting with a friend or colleague at the desk and I felt like I was interrupting her or something. The keycards she scanned for me didn't even work, so I had to go back to get them reactivated. She seemed a little perplexed by my request to keep an item in their fridges (since my room didn't have one) and suggested I go to the restaurant/kitchen to ask them myself. It felt a little weird doing it on my own, and I thought the process would be more straightforward. I stayed at a budget hotel in London and they didn't bat an eyelash. My first impression of the room was that it was pretty basic. Actually, mine smelled like stale cigarette smoke which was perhaps wafting through the vents as it was strongest in the bathroom. The bathroom was okay, but felt outdated and basic. There are two sets of windows; sliding partitions on the inside and a standard window on the outside. The outside window had no latch and did not close all the way. The inside sliding windows were a little temperamental and did not move easily. The carpet in this area was discolored, probably from the outside elements getting inside. The weather was nice during my visit so, not a big deal, but I would not be pleased in the winter time. Noise comes in from the hallway rather easily. The lobby and common areas are overly fancy in comparison to the rooms and at the price, it felt like more fluff than substance. I suppose a large part of the price tag is the location (the airport shuttle also drops/picks right on the doorstep), but I personally felt a little uncomfortable and would have been happier in a more budget hotel. I wonder if I just got one of the 'bad' rooms because I booked through a third party discount site (though not much of a discount). Location is pretty fantastic... nothing 'wrong' with the hotel, but it is definitely overpriced. Frankly, I've stayed at much cheaper places and felt much more comfortable and with the same/better service. read more

This is a gem in the heart of Dublin. Right across the street from Trinity College and a really short walk to the Trinity Bar scene and river. Staff was amazing. By the end of our 5nights they knew us by name and went out of their way to give us great service. We were in the Georgian suites which were spacious and tastefully done. Only draw back no elevator only stairs. I would stay here again 100% and recommend it to anyone coming to Dublin. read more

Beautiful hotel and wonderful stay. The inside was decorated so cute for Christmas. We were able to check in early and our room was upgraded free of charge. Room was immaculate and recently updated. My only complaint about the room was the bathtub has a strange door that is kind of difficult to not get water on the floor. We booked directly with the hotel and we're given free champagne at the bar. We did eat dinner at the bar and the fish was great! I did notice there was construction going on and I could see how if you were on that side of the building it was prob noisy. We visited here Monday 25.07.2022 for drinks & dinner after exploring Dublin on foot all day. We had stayed here on our honeymoon in 2006. The Trinity Hotel is highly recommended for service, value, & location. This time we just came for drinks & dinner. Bar & restaurant is open to all from 12-9:30pm 7 days/week. We had a some drinks at the Brunswick Bar which is always comfortable and has great service. Lunch is served in the bar from 12-5pm. Dinner in the Courtyard is 5-9:30pm. Also there is a breakfast buffet in the Pearse Room 7-9:45 M-F, 7-10.45 Sat & Sun. A great value for E12pp. We then went to the Courtyard for dinner. We were seated by a hostess the n the server brought menus and took our drink orders. My bride had Traditional Beef Bourguignon Slow cooked feather blade of beef, spring onion mash potato, pancetta, baby mushrooms, pearl onions, chantenay carrots (E23). She said that this was well prepared and was as good as her own. I had Wings n Ribs Trinity spiced chicken wings, smoky BBQ ribs, giant onion ring, rainbow slaw, gravy, hand cut chunky chips E17.50. A generous portion served piping hot. There are always cheaper dining alternatives but the Trinity Hotel has top notch food & service. We highly recommend a visit here when in center Dublin City. We arrived via Aircoach and walked about 7 minutes straight from the stop to the front door. We were a little early, but were allowed to check in early. Check In was fast and easy. The staff was friendly. The room: Big and clean. The bed was super comfortable. The AC worked well. We did have a problem turning off the beside lamps off the first night. I had to go to reception since the line was alway busy. It was a super simple solution, but they should make it more obvious. The do not have an iron in the room. We did have trouble with the outlets. They really need more. I couldn't fine one in the bathroom for my hair iron, so I had to do my hair on the floor. The restroom: Clean and big. The toiletries smelled awesome. The shampoo and conditioner are combined. The shower door does baffle me. It seems like most hotels have it and I think it makes more of a mess. You have to be careful with water coming out. I didn't have breakfast included, so I can't comment I did enjoy the special extras like infused water and fruit in the lobby. One word, "Groovadelic." In the heart of Dublin area, housed in the former Dublin City Fire Fighters Housing is this colorful Hotel. Purple is the the theme along with other fashion statements such as the wallpaper, art work, lighting, seating, and into the rooms. We enjoyed a two night stay while on tour. The staff and services are good by all comparisons. We did have leaky plumbing in the rooms (ours & our daughters). The problem seemed to stem from the tub/shower drain that ran onto the floor. The girls had a street view onto Pearse and we fortunately had a view of the ACTIVE fire department & alleyway. With all that said, I slept well, in our twin beds. FYI - confirm your sleeping arrangements before check-in. Our breakfasts were standard UK & Republic buffets. With eggs, scrambled or fried, haggis, bacon, blood sausage, sausage links, grilled tomato, mushrooms, yogurt, cereals, dried fruit, pastries, and breads. Each day, here & at others, I would mix up the regular. There's also a breakfast menu, but Tours buses aren't that patient. From the Hotel, we could easily walk to Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Durry Street, Oscar Wilde Monument & Marrion Park, the Quay's along the river. read more

We stayed 3 nights - a Thurs, Fri and Sat night - in a 1st floor room just above the Courtyard Restaurant patio. The noise that continued late into the night made it the worst room I've ever stayed in. I repeat, The Worst Room. Maybe the room was perfectly fine and the amenities, shower and bed were fantastic. But I don't recall any of that because it was too noisy to get a good night's sleep. It's been two weeks since we checked out and I still recall how progressively noisy it got late into the evening, particularly on the Friday night we were there. It was like we had 100 strangers talking loudly in our bedroom for hours. Any hotel that sticks me in a room like that for 3 nights should expect a negative review. My lack of sleep won't allow me to give more than a star. And of course we asked for a different room. But it's a touristy hotel in the middle of tourist season and we were told nothing was available for 3 consecutive nights. The staff member at reception was nice enough to give us hope when she said she would try. But nothing came of it. I suspect that may have been because we were part of a tour group staying there and we were all housed in the same wing. The irritation with our room and the constant restaurant noise detracted from this hotel's convenience to Trinity College and numerous shops and restaurants. Our breakfast was included and that was very good. We had drinks and a snack at the bar one afternoon and it was all delicious. And we had the hotel do our laundry and they did a great job with that. But it's the noisy room over the restaurant and the lack of sleep that I'll forever associate with this hotel. No one was happier than me when we checked out on the Sun morning and moved to the much quieter Conrad Dublin. read more

Wonderful walkable location which is very close to Trinity College and the Temple Bar area with all the fun pubs in old town Dublin. Also easy walk to St. Patrick's Cathedral. We received an upgraded room in the Tara Section of the hotel. The decor speaks charming boutique hotel, absolutely gorgeous. The decoration was themed in very dark colors, so the room also seemed dark - especially the bathroom. Tough to see in there. The room was large and very comfortable but was missing a refrigerator. Typically 'Suites' include a mini fridge and not having one means trips to the bar for ice buckets to keep water & wine chilled. I guess perhaps I'm spoiled. So overall, very pretty but missing a little function. read more

I loved the location being so close to Trinity College, the river, Temple Bar, all an easy walk. If you want to get to Guinness it's best to take a cab or have good shoes. Front desk was friendly, our room was a complimentary upgrade to one of the Tara Bedrooms and was quite nice. Spacious, decorated in a contemporary style, comfy bed and pillows, nice bathroom. We felt very much at home here. I didn't know until our last day here that there is complimentary coffee past the restaurant host stand. I had bought coffee down the street till then. But that place has inexpensive breakfasts so there's a tip for you. Out the door make a left. Same block. While it wasn't perfect we enjoyed our stay. The bathroom lighting is very dim and the shower is kind of quirky. But I'd come back. read more

Can get really noisy when the alarms go off. Front desk has two people checking in 60. Really trying esp if you have to revisit because your room isn't ready. Wait staff for breakfast can be a bit odd (2 of 4). Breakfast is pricey and often not included. Rick Steves tours also uses this hotel. While waiting in line had to listen to about 50 people complaining loudly. Most seemed to be boomers from CA. (So the level of entitlement was high). read more

Im really glad that I stayed at this hotel. All of the hotels in the area were around the same price, definitely a little cheaper but I don't regret spending a few extra dollars to stay in a beautifully designed, well- maintained hotel. The interior design of this hotel is picture worthy. The rooms are not quite as whimsically designed as the common areas but they were done nicely and have a classic, modern design. As a designer there were a few things that bothered me about a few elements in the room. I'm being very nitpicky but these are a few items they could improve on. -I hate it when you have to step in the shower in order to turn it on and then get wet with the cold water as you wait for the water to warm up. -Another thing is that there is an electric tea kettle sitting in an open shelf. But there's no outlet adjacent to the shelf so you have to move the whole thing in order to plug it in. -Another item is that there are a lot of mirrors but none for makeup application. -Lastly, there's a switch to turn off all the lights on one side of the bed but not the other which I slept on. So I had to get up every time I wanted to turn the room lights on. The bed was really comfortable and they even provide a cotton robe and slippers in the room for guest use. When i went downstairs in the evenings there were a lot of people everywhere. I didn't eat at the restaurant or drink at the bar cause I wanted to go to more historically established venues. The hotel is in a great location, right smack in town but not too close to Temple Bar that you'll be affected by the raucous late night noise. The hotel lobby is very kitsch (see picture) and the bar small but sufficient. I had a lovely Sauvignon Blanc with a couple of mates visiting from London who were staying there. They raved about their hotel rooms but I didn't get a chance to see them - all in all, would recommend my mates who will be visiting to stay there in future. read more

So this is a difficult place to rate. As with most hotels, I find it comes down to expectations, and how the reality compares with their star rating. Trinity City are apparently a four star hotel, though I would definitely suggest that a three star would be far more accurate. So. Let's break this down a bit to figure it out. Good points: - Have you seen the reception and main areas downstairs? A mixture between Indian and Moroccan and nearly otherworldly decadence. A lot of care and expense has been taken here, and it shows. - Very central location - hard to beat really - I asked reception for ear plugs and they unfortunately didn't have any. (See below for more detail..) The next day, I arrived back to my room where a little envelope awaited me upon my bed, containing two sets of earplugs. I thought this was a lovely touch and very indicative of the staff here. Not so good points: - The walls were paper thin in the room - those ear plugs were really badly needed! - The TV only worked occasionally, only had 5 fuzzy channels, and looked like it might be on it's last legs - The gym doesn't open til 9am. What good is that to people who are staying in the hotel for business - the ones who are most likely going to be using the gym? - The lift also wasn't working before 8am or after 8pm. Interesting. - The amazing decor downstairs really sets you up for super sad times upstairs - it's drab, dated, dark and depressing. - My shower wasn't much more than a drip of water. Maybe they're saving money cos of the water charges?!! - Breakfast - really awful quality, shoved along the corner, hardly any choice. All in all, honestly despite the lovely staff and location, I'd be very hesitant to recommend the hotel again. Just all a little bit too meh for me.. read more

I had a pretty darn good experience of staying in the Trinity City Hotel, but there are definitely areas for improvement. I stayed for 4 nights in October and will do my best to break it down into the very good, the good and the areas for improvement at this swish establishment in the heart of Dublin. So, I arrived waaaay too early for check in on a Sunday Morning. I got to the hotel at around 9:30am (check in is at 3pm) and was welcomed by a chirpy, friendly and helpful Porter. Having been travelling since 5:45 that morning (from Birmingham), I was pleased to be able to leave my bags (and my trusty hat) in his care as he whipped all my belongings into the storage room so I wouldn't have to traipse around Dublin with them. I went to inform the staff I was there next. This, again, was swift and easy with super helpful staff who took my details (and my phone number) and promised to give me a call when my room was ready. My first impressions of the hotel were great! With it's swanky purple boudoir style entrance area and neat little outdoor smoking area, I knew I would be in good hands. As promised, I received a call at around 12:30pm to tell me that my room was ready. Once I had gotten back to the hotel I grabbed my key and zipped on up to the fourth floor to look for my room. I was a bit confused for the first few minutes as I couldn't find it in amongst the standard sized doors to the right of the corridor, I was delighted to note that my room (414) had a big wooden double door so I couldn't wait to get in and have a nose. I had a deluxe bedroom, which I believe was a complimentary upgrade (probably due to the fact that there were no standard rooms left). Once through the doors and a curtain (making me feel like I was stepping onto a stage) I noted that there was a wardrobe/cloakroom to the left hand side, a desk area next to that, a big bed in the middle, additional doors (leading to the bathroom) and a seating area built into the walls. It felt more like a mini apartment than a room! With this upgrade you get a bottle of water in your room every day and some additional goodies in your bathroom... not to mention the biggest perk - A JACUZZI IN THE BATHROOM! This was the winning element for me. Now, the areas for improvement... Firstly, no temperature control in the room meant it was like an oven for most of my stay. Secondly, we were given our own breakfast room (as there was so many of us staying) and this offered a more limited selection of items than the main breakfast area. I didn't realise until the last day that I could use the standard brekkie area and have access to the wonders of black and white pudding! Also, no fried eggs - Only scrambled! Lastly, the TV in my room seemed to offer the wonders of netflix, internet surfing and many other great perks - however - it wasn't connected to the internet! I didn't figure out how to do this during my stay and thus couldn't listen to my beloved BBC6 music (or access Netflix) for nearly a week! I would say there are some tweaks to be made, but I was very happy with the staff, the layout of my room, the cleanliness and the hotel overall. I think with a few changes, this could be the hottest place to stay in the whole of Dublin. read more

The place is very impressive interior wise, with a very suave staff that will cater to your every whim. Food is pricey, but I wasn't paying so it was all good. Very cute hotel. We arrived alive after quite an adventurous flight. A flight that was supposed to take an hour ended up taking 6.5 because of winds. The receptionist said she upgraded us for all the hassle we had been through that day. When we arrived in our room, which faced the courtyard, I was almost certain it could not have been an upgraded room. It was a double bed (she told us we were given a king). It really wasn't that big of a deal - just a little bit weird. The only bad part was the outlet at the desk didn't work and we really needed to charge our items after a long day. We called and waited for about 15 minutes for someone to come fix it, but just asked to change rooms because we didn't want to wait any longer - we wanted to get out and explore the city! The new room was actually an upgrade, and it was lovely. Another oddity of the hotel - it was SO COLD when we entered the room. I understand saving on heating costs when no one is in there, but seriously it's the coldest room I'd ever been in. Even after a few hours with the heater running while we were out to dinner, the bed itself was still freezing when we got into bed that night. The wi-fi is blazing fast, not 200 as they said, our speed test said 75Mb (which is still super fast). However, my husband takes his classes online and he had a lot of problems with the streaming failing. For most people, that won't really apply to you, but beware if you are in that boat. However, with those few minor problems - the hotel itself was still great. Really nicely decorated, luxurious linens, very nice staff. I would recommend this place for a stay in London! FYI - we took the 700 bus from the airport (Aircoacch) to the Trinity City stop which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It was 7 euro one way or 12 euro if you bought the return trip in advance. It was a nice coach bus that runs about every 15 min. The 16 bus from the airport is around 2.50 or 3 euro one way, so much cheaper, but takes an extra 15-20 minutes. I think that bus only runs every 30 minutes. Either option should work well! read more

We are very disappointed with our experience at the Trinity City Hotel. My husband and I were celebrating our final night in Ireland and our 3rd year wedding anniversary. We arrived at 11 am to check in and were told rooms would be ready between 1 and 3 pm. Very typical, so we decided to do some sightseeing before checking back in. We returned by 5 pm eager to shower and get ready for our anniversary dinner, we assumed this was more than enough time. Unfortunately, our suite was still not prepared, despite checking in 6 hours prior. We were asked to sit by the bar, as they offered us a complimentary cocktail. An HOUR went by and we had yet to hear from anyone. My husband had to again go to the front desk demanding the status of our room. Their excuse.... They were waiting for a "cot" to be removed... Finally we arrived in our suite that was an outdated version of what appreared on the website, rushing to prepare for our reservations. After returning from our dinner, we tried to turn on the airconditioning, which did not work. The front desk offered us a small plastic fan to keep us cool, along with keeping the windows open to the loud city. In return we received a complimentary breakfast, to ease our anger. I'm most disappointed in the service in general. There is no way a room takes 6 hours to prepare in a boutique hotel. There is no way that the COT was the issue. There is also no way that you didn't know that the air didn't work in our suite. I would of much appreciated being told the truth upfront and being discounted the cost of the room, oppose to covering up the issues in hopes we wouldn't complain. The hotel is not nearly worth what it costs, nor do they truly appreciate their clientele. We will not be referring our clients here for future. read more

Totally acceptable hotel in Dublin! As others have noted, the lobby furnishings and appeal are quite grand and interesting. They don't quite translate to the rooms unfortunately, but the guest rooms are standard, clean and very much fine. The housekeeping in good order. This hotel accommodated our group of 60+ quite well, a few missteps here and there but overall everyone was pleased, rested and enjoyed their stay. One point of improvement would be group planning for breakfast -- as it was a bit last minute (perhaps a gap/lack in communication) and though we had a private space, we had a very limited menu each day and would've been better off interspersed with the regular guests and full offering. Noted for next time. Oh, and the elevator kerfuffles plagued the courtyard room guests...also something that should be managed better and made right to the guests (ie; stuck in an eleveator, what!?) Not fun. The regular breakfast is quite a spread, served with fresh tea and coffee of your choice and a very large seating area, even an outdoor space in the courtyard to enjoy during warmer temperatures. I'd certainly venture to stay again on a return trip to Dublin. All staff I dealt with were great. The location is grand and easily within walking distance to many city sites and restaurants/bars. Wifi is easy and free...well done! Also, how can one resist taking a photo sitting in the beautiful plush oversized armchairs...!? read more

I ended up staying here for a total of 7 or 8 nights after the Icelandic volcano extended my Irish vacation by 5 days, so I know it pretty well. The hotel is very beautiful inside, and will impress you with its victorian-meets-modern decor. There is a TON of comfortable seating in the lobby and around the bar/restaurant, so it's fun for sitting around talking and using the Internet - there is free WiFi in the lobby only. For the location and nice-ness of the hotel, it is very reasonably priced. When I stayed there, rates varied between 80 - 100 euros per night. It's clean and the rooms are pretty nice. The beds are comfortable and I slept very well. The location is right across the street from Trinity College, and a short walk from Grafton St., Temple Bar, and most other places you'd want to go. A few cons: -The showers are water-saving... probably pretty standard for Europe, but the water comes out in a trickle, making it very hard to wash/condition hair. Pretty nice bathroom with a big tub besides that though. -Because the room rates are low, they charge a lot for other stuff. Internet in your room is 25 euros per day!!!! We asked if they'd comp our room WiFi since we had been staying there so long, but they said no. Not unreasonable, but it would have been nice, since we were stuck there and helping them make up for all the business they lost from travelers that couldn't get to Dublin because of the volcano. The bar/restaurant is also expensive - I got a regular cup of coffee one morning in the lobby and it was 3 euros, which I thought was a lot (but I'm also converting to American dollars), and the breakfast is 10 - 15 euros for a buffet that is just OK, and isn't included - I'd skip it. Go to the Spar the night before and buy some croissants or bread for breakfast instead. -Some of the staff was SUPER nice and very helpful, but there were also one or two who were very brusque and rude. It's just hit and miss. -Finally, although the location was key, it also makes for loud noises. The hotel is right on a busy main street, so there's traffic noise. It's also located right next to a fire station, which has weird, loud noises all night, even if they don't get a call. I'd ask for a room that's on the street side - the noise is a bit more tolerable than the fire station side. If you're going in the summer and it's warm, this is especially true since you'll want to open your windows (the hotel doesn't have AC, but very few places in Ireland do). In general - a great deal if you're past your days of staying in hostels, but don't have money to spend on a fancier hotel. Just don't expect a lot of extras included for the price. We had a reservation to stay at this hotel in March for St. Patrick's Day until all of the coronavirus outbreak. With the travel bans, restaurant and bar closures our trip has been cancelled. The hotel would not work with us even with the travel ban. They would not refund our money or give us a credit for a later date (which we plan to visit this summer now). We will be traveling to Ireland this summer but will not be giving Trinity City another chance. read more

The hotel was beautiful but it was the staff that really made the experience for us. We had a two night stay in Dublin and we couldn't have been in a better location. Everyone from the front desk reception to the valet was beyond helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Joanne, the GM, truly was an amazing example of hospitality. So much respect for what she is doing with this hotel. Our room was stunning and no detail was left overlooked. One of my favorite hotels of all time and a real highlight of an extended Ireland trip. We will 100% be back the next time we are in Dublin! read more

It might be due to the fact that I stayed at the Trinity City around 6 years ok that I only give this place a 3 over a 4 but it certainly seemed like it's dated a bit and become a bit tired since we first gazed upon its reception and rooms all those years ago. Staying for 4 nights in October, I had a courtyard room which was nice with views of the hotel and bar area and giant balcony windows. The bathroom was clean and tidy and the only criticism of the room was the lack of tea bag options with the kettle (no peppermint, camomile or the usual's you'll get in other hotels). The cooked breakfast was ok and a few nice options such as porridge were on display down in the main breakfast room. The hotel bar was cool for a quick drink although their English breakfast tea with milk was absolutely awful - some of the worst I've ever had so I only had half a cup and left the rest of the pot. Goodbye 2.50 Euros! The staff were pretty friendly - there's nothing wrong with this hotel at all, there's just not that much wow factor and doesn't seem to offer much more than budget hotels. read more

I stayed here for four nights on a work trip and overall, left with a pretty good impression of the place. As other reviews have mentioned, the foyer/reception area is pretty unusual - lots of deep, lush purples and ornate decorations so you know this place is trying a bit harder than your average hotel. I had a standard room and can't fault much about it - a comfy bed, a bath and tidied to a really good standard every day. It did face the road and the weather was surprisingly warm, so having the window open meant it was noisier than ideal. There was a small fan in the wardrobe though! The one aspect I wasn't impressed by was the breakfast - as we were a large group they served us a separate buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms which were all decidedly average on the flavour front. There was also a problem with the toaster which meant your toast might catch on fire but the staff didn't seem overly concerned about this! Staff were helpful and they have a large storage room for leaving your bags if you check-in early or don't need them until later in the day. The hotel is in a great location for checking out Dublin and most things will be within a 20 minute walk, and the awesome shopping area is just 10 minutes away. read more

Stayed here for 6 days on our first trip to Dublin. We really enjoyed our stay here! We first arrived a few hours before check-in. We were really jet lagged and it probably showed on our faces b/c the girl at the front desk offered to take our luggage and try to find us a room. It took about an hour, but was still 2 hours before check in which was nice. The room was nice, tidy and looked just like the picture on the website. The bed was large, the bathroom was nice and modern. We slept in daily, so left our room about noon and when we returned our room had always been cleaned. We stayed in the Courtyard rooms, which are the budget rooms but it was more than enough and exceeded my expectations. Apparently there are no air conditioners in the courtyard rooms, but since it is February we didn't need it. The hotel itself is very unique. As many have commented before it looks like something out of Alice and Wonderland. Very large furniture in the lobby, lots of mirrors and unique accent pieces, very fun. There's free WiFi which is awesome. There's also a small exercise room with a treadmill, an elliptical, a stair stepper, a yoga mat and a balance ball. There's water and fresh towels provided in the exercise room with is a plus. The location was GREAT! Walking distance from all major attractions and pubs in Dublin, but tucked away so not right in the middle of it all. Just what I like. There were 2 cons and that was the thin walls and the food. We could hear everything going on in the hallway and could hear voices from the rooms adjacent to us. This was a bit disturbing on those nights when we just wanted to crash early. We decided to have our last meal in the hotel bar and boy were we disappointed. The prices for the bar food weren't bad, but the taste was. I had the pasta arrabiata and it was very bland. My fiancé had the burger and there was a huge hunk of not so tasty mayonnaise on it. The pasta was so far from what was advertised (no sundried tomatoes, no garlic) that I mentioned it to the waiter. When I did he said he would tell the chef. He returned a while later to say that the chef himself tasted the sauce and agreed that it was bland. He apologized and took the charge off the bill. That was very nice of them. All in all a great stay that I would highly recommend. read more

I was yesterday with a group of friends, the place was such an amazing , very beautiful and relaxing place, especially the cafe,bar inside the hotel " Cairo cafe" the services in the bar was great ,people there very polite and the prices are great, they offer many kinds of drinks and many selections of food , the music that I was listening was from Turkey I guess and also from south america. I like the colors of the walls and the photos and very nice furniture and very clean and quiet. read more

This is the most amazing hotel I've ever stayed in, simply because of the decor. I felt like I was Alice in Wonderland. The furniture, art and rich, beautiful colors just had me wide-eyed and excited to be here. Great location as well for a tourist not comfortable taking public transit, as you are within walking distance of many things including shops, tourist attractions and some great pubs. read more

This really doesn't fit the bill for a 4-star hotel by my standards, though considering European standards may be different that might not be totally fair. The decor was hideous; they are in serious need of an update. I thought the rooms were underwhelming, and the bathroom was a bit ridiculous. It was really hard to take a shower without flooding the bathroom because the shower was on equal leveling with the rest of the bathroom. The breakfast and coffee were great, however! read more

Fun hotel in a convenient location and affordably priced. Be sure to check out the courtyard with all of the interesting decorations. I loved the privacy hangers on the door. My only regret is that I didn't nick one. read more
