My husband and I stayed here for a week and it was a great hotel! We stayed in a Green King room. It was clean, the bed was comfy and the bathroom had a great shower. We appreciated the daily housekeeping and the two cartons of water each day. It was also nice to have USB and USB-C ports in the room to charge our phones. We paid to have the hotel breakfast included in our stay and it was a decent breakfast to kick off our days. A good variety of food options. The hotel was also situated in a great area. We were able to walk to Trinity College, Grafton Street, Temple Bar, St. Stephen's Green, Irish Rock n Roll Museum, and even Smithfield Christmas Market. So much good shopping, pubs and restaurants within walking distance too. Would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Dublin. read more

A great location, fairly quiet but close to all the hustle of town and walkable to literally everything. The staff was hit or miss- some of the front desk staff was really awesome while we did have one man who accused my husband of vaping in the bathroom due to an "alarm" triggered which was false and off putting. Onsite breakfast is overpriced for what it is and is not great. Onsite bar on the other hand, was awesome and definitely had a trendy vibe great for drinks with friends or a date. The beds and pillows were the best in the country but the bathroom layout was funky, with little sink space, a toilet seat that didnt cover the full bowl? but nice products used. Very eco friendly, to the point they dont have lights on in the hall ways which was kind of creepy. Aircon worked great though and we got great sleep. read more

Located in the heart of Dublin, walkable to tourist attractions this was my favorite city hotel when we visited Ireland. The aesthetic with its variations of textures and color palette was right up my alley so was the cleanliness! Breakfast was included in our package and on the day we had to leave early to catch a tour the hotel prepared a breakfast to go for us. It included yogurt, croissant, a chocolate bar, orange juice, water and tea It was the best to go breakfast I've ever had. The outlets in the hotel room included US outlets. Everything was very modern while also having character. We have the deluxe king room, which was definitely roomy for a city center hotel. The day we left, we asked for a taxi to the train station and they were able to call One right from the computer and see how long it would take to get to the hotel. We stayed here for nine nights and are recommending The Green Hotel to everyone coming to Dublin for an extended stay. The location is ideal -- close to shopping, restaurants and buses. The hotel itself is in pristine condition. We appreciated the 24/7 front desk, room service, restaurant and lift. If you can, get an executive room as you'll enjoy the American king-sized bed and access to the executive lounge. A big shout out to all the maids who did a phenomenal job cleaning our room and supplying us with bottled water and coffee pods. Will definitely stay here again as we anticipate many more future trips to Dublin as we have nearby family. read more

The Green Hotel is a gem of a contemporary style boutique hotel in Dublin that is located across from the lovely St. Stephen's Green park and is within walking distance of numerous restaurants, bars , shops and Grafton Street in the pedestrian district. If you wish to take public transport, there is a tram station less than a 1/2 block away. We booked our 5 night stay there using points from one of our credit cards and used it as a base for exploring Dublin as well as other towns within a day's drive. From the moment we arrived until our check out, the management and staff made us feel welcome and ensured that our stay was pleasant. They were polite and courteous and quick to respond to any questions that we had. We booked a classic room with twin beds. This was perfect as the beds were side by side and ended up being a larger bed than what is known as a double bed in the U.S. The room was not the most spacious, but it was sufficient as we were not planning on spending much time in there. The bedding was comfortable and extra amenities included an electric kettle with tea and coffee selections as well as tea biscuits. For warmer weather, there is also a/c. It also features a decent sized bathroom with a ledge where you and your significant other (or travel companion) can put your travel kits. Rather than a bathtub, this room features a walk in shower, which certainly beats climbing in and out of a tub to take a shower. Both the room and the hotel were spotless. The lifts are very modern and quickly take you to your desired floor. Many of the room rates include the bountiful breakfast at the hotel which features a great selection of virtually anything you may desire. There was a selection of fruit juices, yoghurt with various toppings, dry cereals, pastries, breads, croissants, meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs, sausages, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and if desired, the ability to order eggs cooked other ways. The staff was attentive most mornings, though there were busier times when you had to wait for a desired item to be restocked. This wasn't a problem though, since there were so many other choices. If your room did not include breakfast, it was a 25 (Eur) per person. If you don't want to pay that much for breakfast, there are other places within walking distance. We opted for the hotel breakfast since many other places did not open until later, well after the time we started our day tours. When travelling, we also prefer to have a larger than normal breakfast and then have only a late lunch in lieu of lunch and dinner. There may have been issues with people not wanting to pay the price for breakfast as the young man in dining room mentioned the price twice each time we visited. We assured him that it was ok and each time, brought the credit card machine over prior to us eating. This seemed a little unusual, but when in Rome.......or in this case, Dublin. He was, however, very polite about it. In reading reviews for the hotel, I noticed comments about the area being noisy. We did not experience this. Granted, there is a fairly busy street in front of the hotel, but the traffic really abated after 8:30 p.m. Even sleeping with the windows open any sounds from below did not affect our sleep quality. If I had to express one area which I thought could use an improvement, it would be with the choice of placing a round table in the double room. Though it was nice to be able to sit at the table, it really made the area between the bed and window very cramped. I think a rectangular one would have fit better. We solved the problem by moving it to the corner. The next time that we head to Dublin, we will definitely return. read more

We really enjoyed our two night stay here recently - this location is super walkable to lots of iconic Dublin spots and everybody who worked here was friendly and helpful. Ines and Peter did an incredible job checking us into a room that would resemble living in old grandmas house, living room since the green hotel is build where grandma's house used to be. Jonathan, the hospitality restaurant and bar manager, was awesome not just in service and keeping bottles of best champagne chilled all day but also recommending best dining establishments as well as watering holes to fill the Day. However, as small is may sound, we had the best pillows and mattress we have ever experienced. This insomniac had the best sleep staying at the Green ever. I was not one bit impressed with this spot at all. For a start the front desk worker was exceptionally rude when I asked where the toilets where she just barked directions at me which took me back a little to be honest. Secondly the lunch service was woeful borderline rude in my opinion. The only reason why it does not get one star is that there was one female member of floor staff who did her best and was pleasant but she alone could not make up for the aloof rude service in general which made me have to leave my table twice to hunt them down which got no apologies by the way. The food is regular pub food, nothing to write home about but it's OK bit over-priced in my opinion for what you get. As I was there for business it was rather embarassing that after an hour of talking to my guest no one at all came to ask us if we wanted a drink etc - an hour people. What says it all to me is that when my guest joined me I asked him, "Would you like a coffee?" "Yeah I would but I will wait till they come and ask... The service here is very bad." Bad? Tragic. An empty enough area as well. At the end I could feel the servers hostility that I did not tip - are you kidding me?! Never ever again will I darken this place with my shadow it was embarrassing... And don't get me started on the wi-fi charge. read more

This is a lovely hotel with an exceptional location in the heart of Dublin. The hotel is located catty corner to St Stephen's Green, which served as a handy landmark throughout our trip. We stayed in a junior suite which included full-stop breakfasts during our 7-day stay and access to the executive lounge, a roomy living room with all access to water, soda. snacks, cookies, beer and wine. The hotel gym included all brand new equipment that worked properly, which is rare in a hotel gym. The staff were exceptional - very helpful and professional and multilingual. There was daily maid service as well. We thought there might be a problem with noise, it being so close to the city, but - no, our room was very quiet. We also were able to check in early, which was a big relief after traveling for 16 hours from the U.S. In all, a lovely hotel in a very convenient location. read more

The location is perfect. Across the street from Stephens Green and its tram stop, a skip from Grafton Street without being in all the hustle and bustle. The rooms are a little older - it's not the modern design you might expect from seeing the lobby - but it's clean and simple. The rooms are on the smaller side (we booked a basic King room) but it doesn't feel cramped and we're used to rooms being smaller in general in Europe. Service has been great and very friendly- no complaints there. Would definitely stay again next visit to Dublin, it really is exactly what we needed. read more

I have a fondness for this hotel! I stayed here 3 times in total I think, mostly for exams. I still think of it as kind of a good luck hotel-each time I stayed here I passed them! It's not the fanciest hotel in the world and the last time I stayed they still had blankets on the beds and hadn't decided to replace all the televisions with plasma screens as in many places. (I believe they have now). It had begun to look a bit faded. It is, however, more than adequately comfortable and very clean. Downside would be internet you have to pay for. In this day. Yikes! Why the 4 star rating? Location is very good-on the corner of Harcourt Street and Stephen's Green. It has the party potential of Harcourt Street without the noise factor. If you shop around you can get very good rates-including things like a junior suite for the price of a regular room. Staff are lovely and very accommodating-ask for a quiet room and you get it. One guy even asked me how my exam had gone when I walked back into the hotel! So, it will always be remembered by me as the place I stayed in when I passed my exams...and where they were always pleasant and made me feel welcome! read more

Here is the thing. When you stay in a hotel, what do you look for? Do you look for location, amenities, service, cleanliness? If your standards aren't very high, are on a budget, and want a great location, stay in this hotel. Here are the pros: relatively clean, friendly professional service, downstairs bar, adequate gym, right next to SG Park, wifi (which more or less works). Cons: Small rooms, barely edible free breakfast (complete with greasy bacon and powered eggs), staff while lovely aren't well versed in a lot of the newer bars and restaurants. Save your money in Dublin, and splurge at the Hayfield Manor in Cork, The Adare Manor (Adare), the Dunraven Arms Hotel (Adare), or the Dunloe (Killarney). Enjoy Ireland! read more

We stayed here for a couple of nights in a Junior Suite. The room was reasonably clean, but hadn't had a good scrubbing for quite some time. The furnishings and carpet were pretty dated and worn. Not what I would expect for a room of this caliber and price. At least the bed was pretty comfortable. The service in the hotel was phenomenal, which is why they earned 3 stars. O'Callaghan Stephen's Green Hotel is tucked away on a quiet side street next to Stephen's Green. The rooms are relatively modern with decent mattresses (they haven't been slept on one million times...yet) and neutral decor. The rooms have electrical sockets for European and American plugs, so, if you forgot a converter, you'll be okay during your stay. My room overlooked the street in front of the hotel and it was generally quiet. However, on the weekends, it was pretty humorous(but more annoying as the night went on) to listen to all the drunks on the street below, singing and yelling while stumbling home. If you're not into this, and you won't be by 3:00 a.m., I'd suggest bringing ear plugs or asking for a room in a quieter section of the hotel. Otherwise, the rooms are quiet; I didn't hear a peep from any of my neighbors. A couple of complaints though. The air system was generally useless. There was a wall unit to control temperature but it never worked for us during the stay. Also, even though Orbitz advertised that the hotel price included a complimentary breakfast, it didn't. This isn't necessarily O'Callaghan's fault but it would be a plus to include it in the price for all guests. So, to sum it all up, price is decent, location is great, but room is unmemorable. Stephen's Green, however, is beautiful, so, just spend your time there instead of in the room. read more

We chose this hotel for it's location and reasonable price, but ended up being very happy with it overall. While clearly an older hotel, it's very well maintained and still has an air of class and elegance. Our room was small (typical for Europe) but well appointed and quite clean. The staff was polite and helpful. The location is great, close to bus & train transport, and there always seemed to be at least one taxi waiting out front. It's also within easy walking distance of many Dublin attractions, including Trinity College and Temple Bar. One minor letdown was the business center...a small room at the end of the hall with a single antiquated computer and printer. We attempted to use the computer to check email, but got all kinds of virus popups and warnings. No way we were trusting our passwords (let alone CC numbers!) to that thing. We quite enjoyed our stay, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The O'Callaghan to others. read more

This place is nicely situated close to Stephen's Green and is a good meeting point since it's just far enough away from the crowds of Grafton St. The lunch is decent and I enjoyed my soup and sandwiches. It was easy get a seat at lunchtime on a Tuesday. I had to pay €3 for two hours of WiFi access. I really wish they would just make WiFI free since it'd entice more people to come and spend more money on coffee if they could easily work from here. I started off giving this place three stars but decided to reduce it to two since we were sitting there for an hour and no one came by to check if we needed anything. Disappointing visit to O'Callaghan's and we will not be back. We booked an Executive King Room for our two night stay and got a poorly maintained room with a queen sized bed, an old tv, an outdated bathroom, and beat up furniture. Yes, we called the front desk to notify them that we had been given the wrong room, but they were no help. They assured us it was a king bed (it's not - we have a king at home) and nothing could be done to help us. We spent very little time in the room, so that's fine. But when you pay extra for something and don't get it, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. For us, the wifi was included and worked the whole time, but it was little consolation for our crap experience. Just know that what you're getting is a place to lay your head and nothing more and don't bother paying for upgrades. read more

This hotel is well situated for Dublin city centre right next to St Stephens green and the Luas stop is 2 minutes away. Make sure you ask for a room in The new wing and these are spacious and well designed. The bed was huge and I had 2 great nights sleep here. Food was a little disappointing but very well priced. This hotel is a gem. We have stayed there twice. It has been renovated (2018) with great new clean rooms and facilities. It's close to everything but also quiet. A sort of boutique hotel. Nice bar and food menu is good. A great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. We stayed here for a week and were utterly underwhelmed. The hotel itself is rather lackluster. The food in the cafe was poor and overpriced. The desk staff seemed preoccupied and a tad surly. When we attempted to use the computer to print boarding passes we were told we would need to pay to use the internet which we found completely absurd. Needless to say, that didn't happen and the front desk printed our boading passes for us. In summary, sleeping in a pup tent alongside the riff raff in Stephen's Green would have been more enjoyable. read more

Stayed here for a few days with the missus while we were in Dublin. (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) Very nice location - far enough away from places that it was quiet, close enough that you didn't feel too far away from everything. Didn't try the 'award winning' restaurant as such, but did order some food through room service. It was really good the first night (I think I had the burger) but not so good the second night (fish). Tghe room was pretty much what you'd expect from a hotel - although the bed was quite big, very comfortable and very quiet. Would I go back here? Definitely. Would I recommend it? Can't beat the location but the rooms were worn and dated and the beds were sadly in need of replacement. The whole place could do with a deep clean, paint, carpet- a whole once over. I didn't help that half our floor was under construction- no notice by the way- and drills and load music started promptly at 0800 and didn't end until 1800. The staff were very nice young interns from across Europe and really tried their best but there is only so much they can do. A last resort when everything else if full type of place unless you are one of the drink until you vomit 20-somethings that seem to make it the place to be at 0500 when the bars let out...... read more
