The tower of nibbles ALL for Moi
    Fairy T.

It was a bittersweet afternoon of tea and nibbles at the Westbury, my last afternoon in Dublin before I headed home the next day. I spent the afternoon staring out the window and being greeted by a warm and kind French waiter with a set of beautiful blue eyes and dark curly hair. His name eludes me now but his kindness left an imprint on my heart. He was so gracious, checking on me and bringing me numerous pots of hot tea. Little did he know, I was under the weather at this last tea time but I gathered the last of my energy to attend this farewell tea time. The bites were very flavorful and I took my time to enjoy each and every bite. My first tea was the Peach Oolong, which did not please my fading palate. Next I chose a Chai tea and then concluded with a sparking tea cocktail. By my last pot, I was too full to enjoy my desserts, so I took them back to my hotel for later...which turned into breakfast the next day. On an entirely separate note, upon arrival to make my tea reservation several days prior, I had a sense of deja vu - I had been here before in another life. My final tea time did not disappoint and if I'm ever in Dublin again (this life or the next) I'll certainly be back for another high tea by the window.

The location is just perfect! You walk right into Crafton street and in the middle of action. Can't go wrong and never be board! The hotel has an impressive lobby, decor, and variety of bars and restaurants indoor and outdoor sitting. Plenty of workers to assist the guests with their basic needs. Chandeliers are abundant and make the place feel and look fancy and absolutely a 4-5 start hotel. I have stayed here for business 4-5 times and have had variety rooms ranging from a single, to a queen, and even an upgraded suite. I've found the beddings and large pillows very soft and comfortable. The bathrooms are tight and not easy to use comfortably as compared to US top hotels. But again the property is old and we all know Dublin is a tightly spaced city! The breakfast quality is very good. Continental or made to order selections are wonderful plus a full table service. The biggest disappointments for me are the smallest little gym that is around specially for such top end hotel. And only open at 7am. Which is really too late for the business travelers. I had to beg them to let me in early and they made some exceptions but I found it very annoying. The other option was to go across the street and pay €10 per visit!! Finally, the cost of the hotel per night is very pricey.

This was my worst hotel experience ever! After a 6 hour flight. I arrived at 5:10am to check in. Only to be told no rooms were clean and ready for my arrival. Booked in advance on their website, also letting them know of my early check in. So I waited, had a nice breakfast & tea (great breakfast Watched the sun rise because I had to wait a full 4.5 hours to have a room cleaned and available! Didn't get into the room till 9:30am. This is totally unreasonable. No, thank you.

Not sure I would recommend staying here. For a "Leading Hotel of the World," they have a ways to go. The room was dated and can't compare with The Shelbourne down the street. Service at the Balfe downstairs was very disappointing. They couldn't find our reservation (ultimately they did and offered an apology), we waited over an hour for our soup course and another hour for our mains with no update as to delay. Tons of servers and restaurant nearly empty (maybe 5 tables seated). Requested room service at 7:45 am, but they knocked on the door at 7:10. Called for someone to help with bags at checkout and waited 20 min. Carpet in room was stained in many spots, Phone connection (to ask for luggage help) was so static-y we could barely hear each other. Noticed there was pastry crumb in the phone receiver. Room was quite hot and air conditioning inadequate. Having spent time recently at the lovely Shelbourne a few blocks away, it's a no brainer.

My wife and I stayed here in late October for three nights at the end of our week in Ireland. We enjoyed our stay but didn't feel like the high room rate we were charged was justified. Service at times was great but other times lacking. One evening the AC in our room failed. Our call down to the desk was promptly answered with someone coming up to check for user error within minutes even though it was after 11pm. When it was determined that it couldn't be fixed until the next day, they offered to bring us fans to cool off which was much appreciated. Two thumbs up. When we arrived via taxi late in the afternoon, there was no one available to assist with our bags nor anyone at all. We were not initially uncertain which was the main entrance as the hotel is tucked into a corner. Also, someone was at our door just ten minutes after check-in for evening turndown service. We asked if they could return in 10 minutes as we were heading out for dinner. After returning an hour and a half later, we discovered we were skipped. Fortunately we found someone in the other hallway and redirected them. The room itself was in good condition and comfortable. Although being just a half block off Grafton St and there being road works close by, our room was quiet. Breakfast every morning was yummy but then again service was good one morning and lacking the next. The hotel does not have a pool if that is important to you but instead gives you a letter to use one in a nearby fitness center. Not conducive to visiting in your robe and slippers. The hotel's beautiful and spacious lobby has been transformed into a restaurant. There really is no public space downstairs although they did say we could sit in the restaurant area even without ordering. The Westbury has a great location but I feel they could do better based on their room rates.

A posh hotel right off of the best shopping area of Dublin, Grafton Street. Hotel was great about arranging car service from airport (we got in very late in the evening). Upon arrival, check-in was smooth. After traveling for hours, we saw that the bar was still open and wanted to get a bite & drink before heading to bed. However, when we attempted to flag a server, they said they would get our order and never returned. After waiting around for 10 minutes, we got the hint. Headed up to the room to order room service. We were booked in a suite and its Huge. Large living room & bedroom. The bathroom was smaller than expected with only a single sink. Room had a fancy Nespresso (I have one at home, but this one took me a little longer to figure out how to use). There's a stocked minibar, if you need a snack while waiting for room service. The sandwich from room service was delicious. The best part of this hotel is the convenience to the shopping, restaurants, etc.

The location can't be beat. It's literally on Grafton St. The service was good. A long line to check in but I didn't mind after I saw the yummy chocolates they leave in your room in the afternoon. The restaurant was a little pretentious except for one waitress that made us laugh and didn't take life too seriously, just my kind of people. The lounge is fun. Music. Great whiskey. Great ambiance. Room was spacious. But the bathroom was not. I chose a king size bed kind of room. The gym was awful. That's the picture. If you want something better you can walk a few blocks but guests of the hotel still have to pay. I won't choose this hotel if I go back to Dublin. I'll try the Shelbourne. We went there for tea and service was much better. Still a little pretentious. Or maybe I'm too.... what would be the word?

The Westbury is luxurious, beautiful, and optimally located; could easily walk anywhere. Nestled in the heart of Dublin, surrounded by great attractions, delicious food, and charming scenery. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The concierge booked a couple tours and gave us great restaurant recommendations. Beautiful, modern, and perfectly located.

For the price, my hotel room smelled awful and it was super noisy from the HVAC outside. I would take the noise of Temple Bar over that. I wasn't really impressed with the decor. We arrived from an overnight flight at roughly 9:30 a.m. and they were still prepping rooms but they stored our luggage and recommended a location to grab something to eat which was very good. Upon returning about 45 minutes later our room was ready and we found the room to be meticulous with a very comfy king bed, mini fridge, tv, and ample size bathroom. I saw a few other reviews that stated the bathroom doors would not stay open but I learned that is by design and we just asked for an extra towel that we used to prop the door open when needed. It serves to point out that the entire hotel is under a complete remodel so many of the rooms and features of the hotel are shinny new. They do offer breakfast in the morning and for the evening they do have a restaurant and bar. Just walk out the front door if you want a livelier crowd and more restaurant options The location of the hotel is prime as it offers proximity the River Liffey, plenty of shops, pubs, and attractions. We walked to the Jameson (25 min walk) and Guinness (30 min walk) factories as it also gave us the ability to take in things along the walk. You are close to Trinity College and both St Patrick's and Christ Church Cathedrals. lastly, I cannot say enough about the staff, Anne at the front desk was a warm and inviting pleasure and very professional, Marvin the concierge and bellman was super helpful and pleasantly informative, the house staff was attentive and always looking to make sure we were comfortable. The Brooks comes with my highest recommendation.

It was delightful to come home to each evening. Experience: 1. They will tidy your room everyday 2. The deluxe guest room has a deep tub for soaking Staff: The entire front desk staff is very helpful, welcoming and efficient. Marta was especially helpful and kind throughout my stay! As for the porters were just right with their assistance. I did always feel bad that I had not gotten any Euro on my trip, but I will mention Karl was fantastic! Always helpful and nice to talk with. Michele in the health center was informative and helped me find all of the rooms for their current gym as it's under renovation. Facilities: They have a 5 star spa on site that includes one of the best relaxation rooms I have experienced in the world. It's the view and seating that make it amazing. They give you a blanket, fruit, spa water -- all while looking over st. Stephen's park... bliss! (I went on a rainy day which added to the ambiance) The facial with Elemis product was my favorite. PRO TIP! if you're from the states and liked Elemis, there is now an Elemis outlet store at Kildare Village, which is a short train ride away. I made it there in 35 minutes. DINING: Again, 5 star experience and the restaurant is always packed. Chef makes superb food and I thoroughly enjoyed the room service of fish and chips. TONS of fish, perfectly battered and fried. Coming back to the hotel around 5pm, our room was ready and we were able to nap a bit before dinner. The superior room we booked was located in a renovated section of the hotel and had access to a shared outdoor patio right across from our hotel room. We didn't have time to use the patio but it was spacious and it seemed no one was using it whenever we passed by. Our hotel room was very clean, large (great for us as we had plenty of luggage) and we had two complementary water bottles in the room. We had breakfast the next morning and it was buffet style. There is a section if you want fresh made omelettes. Lots of variety I think but I stuck with the classic Irish breakfast items. So delicious and fresh! Check out process - we had a bit of a hiccup as I had given my credit card for authorization for breakfast charges when I checked in. The staff was asking for my credit card again which confused me as I had already paid.
