Nice hotel in center of Dublin. Rooms are decent size and very comfortable beds. Theres a decent breakfast spread too. For me the location and room size are what I like about the hotel. One thing to watch out for is that during rush our taxis can take 10-15 to arrive. I recommend ordering one in advance so you aren't waiting around. read more

We stayed at The Fitzwilliam Hotel in Dublin and overall had a lovely experience. The location is fantastic -- central, convenient, and walkable to St. Stephen's Green, Grafton Street, and so many great spots around the city. The interior is beautifully designed with a modern, luxurious feel throughout the hotel. We especially enjoyed the hotel bar -- great drinks, lively yet refined atmosphere, and friendly service. It was a perfect place to relax in the evenings. Our only disappointment was around early check-in. We paid for an extra night so we could access our room early, but due to a flight delay, we ended up arriving around standard check-in time. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't offer any grace, credit, or goodwill gesture, which felt a bit rigid given the premium price point. Still, the stay was comfortable and the service was strong overall. We'd stay again for the location, design, and bar -- and hope for a bit more flexibility next time. read more

Spent a glorious weekend here in Dubln. Had a voucher to use from AerLingus so went for a few days before it was no longer valid. The weather was superior, so with the location of the hotel on St Stephen's Green, I was able to walk any where I wanted to go. The rooms are spectacular and the service is above and beyond. Citron, the breakfast room, had the best buffet and table menu. I didn't find out until checkout that is was all included. Ate [and drank] in the Inn on the Green Bar. The charcuterie was special with an assortment of Irish cheeses. The Shrimp Pil Pil was overboard. Didn't rain a drop until Monday morning when I was taxied to the airport. read more

At the end of two weeks of touring Scotland and Ireland, I treated me and my husband to a posh final night (in Dublin) at the Fitzwilliam, before our return home to the U.S. We were greeted by welcoming, friendly staff who had our room ready for us hours ahead of check in. We had anticipated having to just store our luggage, but we were so grateful to be granted early access to our room to freshen up before venturing into downtown Dublin. Soon after check in, staff arrived to our door with delicious cookies (which we enjoyed on the long plane ride home the following day). In the evening, staff returned with yummy chocolates and offered turndown service. We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar before heading out to dinner. As for our room, it was spacious and comfortable. I love having both bathrobes and slippers provided, and the room also included an umbrella for the chance of rain. The room also had a coffee/tea station and a few bottles of drinking water. We had a restful nights sleep in our very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also luxurious, with fluffy towels and great water pressure. The front desk staff provided breakfast boxes for us at departure, since we had to leave too early to enjoy their breakfast. They also helped ensure we got a taxi to the airport. We felt truly pampered from start to finish and staying at the Fitzwilliam was a wonderful treat with which to end our long trip. We had an amazing stay here! It's a great location that is very walkable to all the things you might want to see. The staff was so friendly and always happy to help. The breakfast was delicious! Although the potato cakes were a bit greasy, everything else was delicious! The room was spacious, the beds were so comfortable and the linens were great. They happily stored our luggage when we arrived early and helped get our room ready before official check-in. We found out while we were there this was the "Beyoncé hotel" as she had rented it out several years ago. If it's good enough for Beyoncé, it's good enough for me! Superb hotel. Located right on Stephens Green with a tram stop a couple feet away from the front door this is a super conveniently located hotel with wonderful service. The bell staff helped with luggage right when we arrived, the front desk checked us in and offered us glasses of prosecco, and the rooms are clean and comfy with lots of amenities like blow dryers and bathrobes. The showers were a bit small but had good water pressure. The Irish breakfast was THEE BEST we had our whole time in Ireland and I definitely suggest including this in your stay package. On our return stay at the end of our trip before returning home we were upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the park and it was heaven! The staff helped me post out some postcards to loved ones, they delivered bags to the room, and overall every single person there was a delight. read more

The best thing about this hotel is the staff - very professional. A five star hotel it is not. Our bath towels and robes were frayed and stringy. We were allotted only four ear cotton tips per day. The shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel came in big plastic bottles that were difficult to pump, the room was not vacuumed each day, and the usual amenities of a five star hotel such as razors, hairbrushes were not provided. LOVED this hotel! This was our first stop on our honeymoon trip, and we stayed for three nights. After a red-eye flight and traveling for 12 hours, we arrived early in the morning. The receptionist offered to store our luggage and then take it upstairs for us, and told us he would work on getting a room ready as soon as they could. We waited for less than an hour in the attached bar, and when our room was ready, he walked us upstairs to show us how the patio doors and lighting worked, and had our bags AND free champagne sent up! The reviews were all correct that this hotel had an amazing location. Every restaurant or bar we planned to go to ended up being walking distance. We walked to the Teeling Distillery, we had a 4th floor view of St. Stephens Green, the train station was directly in front of the hotel, and Grafton St. and Temple Bar were all short walks away. It did get a little loud at night with the nightlife downstairs, but we were in a populated area and everything was so convenient to get to. We paid for breakfast in advance (20 euros each per day) and only went once, which I regret. It was delicious though! The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and one evening, we came back to carolers performing on the stairwell. Our room was spacious, modern and cute. We upgraded to the four-poster-bed room. They provided umbrellas for our use, and nice robes. The bathroom (that's right, they call it the toilet!) was super nice, too. I would love to stay here again someday. So worth the price and had everything we were hoping for. read more

This is a fine hotel located just across the street from St Stephen's Green. The staff here was very warm, welcoming, and check in was a breeze. Our bags were handled from the car to our room. The room was spacious, fashionable, and very comfortable. Breakfast was not included but for twenty euro per person it was very much worth the price of admission. What a lovely hotel with truly kind people. Our guest experience was perfect! The hotel is well situated so that you can walk to many places. We walked to the Jameson tour, to trinity college and to st Stephen's green. The hotel is pristine, the beds are comfortable with excellent linens and the cocktails are excellent. I loved the oat milk lattes in the morning. One morning, Maria was working alone and she managed to make many guests feel welcome and cared for. ( someone must have called in sick). A few notes: - Showers and showerheads were new and modern: there was a rain shower as well as a separate showerhead - Rooms are very small but functional and has everything you'd need; lacking a bit in counter space but not a big issue - The room service and breakfast are amazing: every breakfast I had here was incredible - The lobby looks a bit dated and used, the FF&E could use a refresh, but it's ok as the location more than makes up for it, and the rooms are modern and comfortable Overall, would definitely stay here again. I've stayed at many hotels, and the Fitzwilliam stands out as one of the best. Luckily, I was able to stay here for almost a week when visiting Dublin for business. The hotel is in an ideal location in downtown Dublin, close to restaurants and shopping, as well as the LUAS stop directly across the street. All of their staff are friendly and welcoming, including the front desk, concierge, housekeepers, and restaurant. The services truly are what you'd expect of a five-star hotel. Their rooms are similar to a high-end American hotel. I had a king bed, with very comfortable feather pillows and a comforter. (They don't have separate sheets or blankets here, so I'd suggest turning down the a/c at night if you are a hot sleeper, like me.) And most importantly, the rooms are very clean! Their rooms have the typical amenities you'd expect in a luxury hotel, like toiletries, hair dryer, laptop-sized safe, and mini bar. The only thing you won't have is a clock radio, although they will offer a daily wake-up call, if you prefer not to use your phone. I purchased a small travel alarm as a backup. Wifi is free, and worked very well for being able to check emails and keep in touch with family from home on my iPhone. I didn't try logging on with my work laptop to be able to determine the speed, however. One interesting thing to mention is that there is only one plug in the bathroom for shavers. You will have to use the blow dryer in the bedroom, as they don't allow larger outlets in bathrooms for safety reasons. Don't forget to bring an adapter for your electronics, if you are traveling from another country. I kept my iPhone and Kindle charged each night using a handy three-input device I purchased from Amazon. When cleaning your room, they will leave you with two absolutely delicious chocolates (including one truffle and one dark chocolate). It's worth letting them come into your room for cleaning each day! Their breakfasts are really delicious. For €22, you can choose from either their menu or their continental bar. But this is not the typical "continental" you'd get in America. They actually have plenty of hot items to choose from, such as scrambled eggs, sausages (similar to U.S. sausage links, but larger and more delicious), black and white pudding (like sausage patties, but with oats, and ahem, blood in the black version), and tomatoes/potatoes. And their cold selections are also quite good, such as their fresh fruit (watermelon!), cereal, honeycomb (!), and pastries. Their full menu has options such as the full Irish breakfast, omelets, and benedicts. I've had the full Irish breakfast before in the U.S., and knew what to expect, so I only had this once. I ended up repeating the tomato/ham/cheese omelet a couple of times - it was that good! Their omelets are not like typical American omelets - they are cooked flat in a skillet, and every bite is a good one! Checkout is a breeze, even if they don't offer a quick phone checkout option available at most American hotels. Do ask the concierge to reserve a cab to return to the airport. We got our own cab from the airport to the hotel when we first arrived, and he charged more than €10 more than we got when reserving through the hotel. Even through the Fitzwilliam is a bit pricy, I'll definitely return! And hopefully next time, it'll be with my husband! read more

The service was great, and my room was delightful! This place had just about everything I needed: A good inclusive breakfast, an award winning restaurant in Thornton's, a large lounge area with fireplace, office center, and a bar. As for the room, it included: -a clean firm but soft mattress and down pillows -a/c controls -a small beverage bar/fridge. It'll cost ya! -tea and coffee station -room controlled stereo system -clean bathroom with a large bathtub -a big showerhead -bath robes -large closet -two room phones -a free umbrella to use -iron and pant press -a safe -room sandals, shoe shine -blow dryer -extra pillows -LCD t.v. -free wi-fi -total lighting control -after room service, they leave you a chocolate treat. I was giving the corporate rate of €150 / per night, which was pretty pricey, but worth it! I only wish they had a bigger gym. It needs an upgrade. And yes, as Jennifer C. suggested, check your credit card statement. Or in my case, check the room charges before paying, as I got hit with laundry service that I never used. Wow, what an unexpected gem of a hotel in Dublin! When I was priced out of old favourites like The Dylan and The Morrison, I was sceptical at best about the odds of The Fitzwilliam being on par. I really needn't have worried. Located directly across from St. Stephen's Green and just a moment's walk away from all the high street shopping and dining to be found on Grafton Street, I found the setting both convenient to the heart of the city, yet distant enough to offer respite from the hordes of Temple Bar. I detected a distinct Eastern European accent from many of the ladies at reception during the check-in process, but the lady that sorted me out was polite, efficient, and employed completely understandable English. In addition to getting me set up with a room key and all, she personally walked me to the lift to give me detailed instructions (including the number of steps I'd have to climb) to my room. In addition to a lovely bed with a view directly into the windows of the hotel(?) directly across the way, wi-fi is provided complimentary, along with your choice of still or sparkling water from the mini-bar. I mean... FREE bottled water. Can we appreciate this fact for just a moment? How often does -that- happen these days at hotels?! To top it all off, hot breakfast was included. If you know me, you know that it's my second favourite meal of the day. I don't function well without having some sustenance in the morning and this was for real. Sausage, bacon, eggs (which were sadly out), black and white puddings, a whole selection of continental breakfast items, and a wide variety of canned/fresh fruit were all on display. The French press coffee that a lovely server provided was just what I needed to wash it all down. I have to admit that for paying significantly less than those other highly rated hotels in Dublin's city centre, I feel like I came out way -way- ahead this time! read more

Town and no rooms were available in the entire city . The few that were available were double regular price and low quality at that. The staff at the Fitz worked hard to get us a room for the night we needed and did not gouge us in the price and we appreciated that very much. I stayed here about a month ago, found a pretty good deal on Hotels.com ($175/night for a queen size bed) The location is great. Right at the top of Grafton Street. It was definitely bad news for my bank account. Ha. The service was great. Viktor was very helpful in suggesting what to do in the area. I was originally going to check in early but after being out for about an hour I decided to spend the whole day around town. The Front was great in trying to accommodate my request and called me when my room was ready. I missed the call and they even called about two more times after. They even offer miles on select airlines for your stay at the hotel. The room is VERY cute! I love that the stereo has speakers in the bathroom. Awesome for me because I love listening to music while taking a shower. You can also borrow CDs if you want! Room was a good size. Bed was pretty comfy. The gym is very small. It looks like it was supposed to be a guest room but converted into the gym. Can't say there was anything wrong with this place... except that I asked the Front to mail some post cards... the addressee has yet to receive them :-( Oh well, minor loss. The Fitzwilliam is often described as Dublin's most luxurious design hotel...well not really, that's just what it says on the website, so everyone just rips it off from there! It's probably the best located hotel in the city, as it's right opposite St Stephens Green at the top of Grafton St. It's quite modern and funky without people being like...eh what the hell is that? IS it a chair? Is it a statue? Oh no...it's a tree. I come here for drinks sometimes and the bar is lovely. I always get a glass of their pinot grigio, which is yum, and they give you little bowls of peanuts (food is always a plus in my book.) As I've stated before, I live in Dublin so have no need to stay here, but from what I've heard and seen online, the rooms look lovely. The price is around €160 for a room at the moment, which I think is quite good really - that's only €80 is you're sharing, right in the heart of the city. read more

Very comfortable and the chairs were comfy to sit in. The only downside would be the water pressure in the bathroom. It would have been better if it was a little stronger. A cocktail as an extra included in the price was very welcome and the two options were a good choice. But the things I didn't like , or feel could be improved. That its in the bar was annoying, a birthday party happening was a distraction as I like quite conversation and reading as an addition to my afternoon. We were given the tea/coffee in addition to the cocktail before the food had arrived. Would have felt that the cocktail should have taken place at the end. But, in saying all of this we will be going back. We know what to expect and we know what kind of afternoon we would be in for. read more

The price is comparable other very high-end hotels in the area, like the Marker and Shelbourne, but by comparison, the quality is inconsistent. I've stayed here twice for business and booked the same rate room but experienced significant differences in room size between the two. My current room has a lovely view of the courtyard but doesn't fit much more than the bed. Pros: free wifi -- seems to be fast, convenient location, high design, beautiful spa tub, comfortable bed Cons: Poor workmanship/visible repairs work, inconsistent food quality, older furniture that shows its wear (did someone kick this cabinet?) I will say that I was impressed by housekeeping - I forgot to call out for laundry service but they took the bag I had prepared and returned everything same-day, quicker than what they cite as their turnaround. read more

I had some specific destinations in mind for Dublin and this hotel was within walking for several of them. After an overnight flight, I was planning on leaving my bags and walking to the National Archeology Museum until my room was ready. I usually need a couple of hours the first day to overcome jet lag. I was extremely happy to find my room was ready at 7 am. The location was great. It was a short walk from the Airport Express bus; the LUAS was across the street; two entrances to St. Stephen's park were across the street; and St. Stephen's shopping center was on the same street. I found the room to be very comfortable and spacious. There was a window alcove comfortable enough to be the television watching seat. Room temperature was excellent. I was happy to find featherdown pillows. The bathroom tub was immaculate and spotless enough to use as a soaking tub. Wi-fi was strong. I did not notice the evening noise (traffic and tourists) because I was in the back of the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I only had 1 meal in the hotel and it was a wonderful evening meal. read more

Popped in her for a quick cup of coffee and yes to use the loo! Ordered coffee and asked for a biscuit - I like to push the boundaries every now and again. Then headed off to find the ladies toilet. Found the toilet downstairs used the facilities and being clean minded etc washed my hands. PROBLEM no way to dry my hands! Looked for drying machine of which there was none - looked for towels and there were none - looked for hidden camera! Used toilet paper to dry hands. Back to coffee - yuck! Biscuit shop bought but okay. Wanted to pay for coffee. Okay being honest thought about doing a runner but I am not as fast as I used to be and I thought it might turn into a 'Benny' moment. I was referred to the bar to pay! Best bit - it has a good location and it looks okay inside. Service - 'What does that mean?' Bring you own alarm clock and check your credit card statement twice!!! We stayed in the Fitzwilliam for two nights. I'm not sure I've ever had a stay start out so pleasant, but end so poorly. I will say that the check-in process was wonderful and the staff gave excellent customer service as I was shown my room in person and my luggage arrived immediately from the bell hop. The room was clean and to my liking, and I was beginning to think I'd found myself a real gem of a hotel. We had an early international flight Sunday morning, and so we needed to wake up at 5:30am. Traveling from America, I knew my cell wouldn't work in Europe so I didn't bring it with me. There is not an alarm clock in the room, so my only method of waking up on time was to request a wake-up call. The man at the front desk cheerfully took my request and I *watched* him write it down in the 5:30am cell for the next morning. Our call came at 5:48am, and the man who called didn't even bother warning us he was calling almost 20 min late. We quickly got ready to leave and went downstairs to check-out. The man at the front desk told me I owed an additional 2.75 euros. I asked why and he said "mini bar charge". I explained I didn't take anything out of the mini bar except the complementary water. Apparently the min-bar fridge has these stupid automatic sensors that if they detect something has been removed they automatically charge your room. They also fire if you bump one of the bottles (which is especially problematic since they encourage you to take the free water out of the fridge), so apparently it's not uncommon to get erroneous charges. He assured me that it was no problem, that he would remove the charge and not to worry about it. Late to the airport because of the late wake up call, I trusted him and jumped in my cab. Sure enough...I get home and look at my credit card statement. There's the mini-bar charge that showed up 2 days after I checked out. It's not a lot of money (and I actually let my credit card company fight that battle for me by disputing it)...but what a disappointment from a 5 star hotel! However, since I had such a positive initial impression of the hotel, I decided to make my complaint privately before writing public reviews. I emailed the hotel company...and was completely ignored! I can certainly forgive a few missteps from a poor employee, but for the company to ignore a complaint from a customer speaks volumes about their commitment to customer service, in my opinion. After all, I paid more for those two nights in Dublin than I did to rent a cottage for an entire week in Kerry county...they could at least type out an apology. read more

This was a lovely hotel in a great location. The staff was beyond accommodating and friendly, friendly, friendly. Rooms were dark if the curtains weren't open. And like all hotel bathrooms in Ireland there is no plug to blow dry your hair in the bathroom so I didn't want the curtains open till I was finished getting ready. The biggest problem was the noise on the street at night from passers-by and the bar next door which meant the window couldn't be open. We turned on the A/C and it had an 8 second cycle up and down which was beyond annoying and almost as noisy as the noise from the street. I would absolutely recommend this hotel but buyer beware if nighttime noise is an issue for you. read more

The Fitzwilliam is a very, very unique hotel. Staff are very helpful and accommodating, there really isn't much of a comparison aside from staying at a b&b. Many businesses will tend to send people here if you're staying in Dublin. However, let's get to what truly makes this a five star place. On the way in, they already have the rooms prepared, clean and nice. The bathtubs are awesome and big enough for two! Your room may be a little bit smaller from it, but the view will make up for it. Then we get to things like a truly excellent continental breakfast, with a twist: they will indeed serve you an irish breakfast if you want one- however you want it. So even my partner in crime was able to get one vegetarian friendly, while I was able to try the blood pudding that turned out to be surprisingly good. Who knew? I had put that up there with things like eating spotted cock, or foods that were simply too culturally locally to capture my interest. On top of that, I wouldn't have even considered it if it wasn't for the staff suggesting I give it a try. Major kudos to them. I really wasn't ready to try the full irish breakfast and was shocked at how excellent it was, along with the things that the entire continent is well known for - such as fresh and wonderful breakfast tea (which they will keep bringing you perpetually). The staff know the area well, and absolutely are very helpful with finding unique places in the area. Had it not been for them I wouldn't have realized they had the equivalent of a food truck festival every couple weeks about 10 minutes walking from the hotel. Truly, the location here is excellent as well. There is one thing that when I came here clearly didn't make it 5 star - their wifi service was basically awful. If you plan on using it while you're there, I'd remind you that there is a 3 store within 3 minutes walking which you could get a prepaid internet service from - and for a far better experience. That may have changed in the years since, but I have no idea. On the contrast, their business (wired) internet service for business customers is phenominal. I was able to achieve 100mb up & down - this was actually pivotal towards the business part of why I was in ireland in the first place. Had that been 20 down, or even less? Having stayed at the Fitzwilliam (or the "Fitz") over a dozen times over the past year I have to admit I've started to like the place more and more. While initially I thought it was just another nice boutique hotel. But hidden behind an in my opinion quite ugly facade is a real gem. Rooms are spacious, clean, and give a real homely feel. Decor is modern but warm. Having also stayed in other top end hotels in Dublin like the Shelbourne, the Fitzwilliam adds a personal touch. Yes this is not the only hotel with a chocolate on your pillow, a good sound system and really nice bedding but excellent staff with attention for detail made me feel welcome from the first time I arrived. Food options in the hotel include a nice restaurant and a bar. In fairness though I would normally explore other eateries in Dublin as well as there is no shortage. All in all, the Fitzwilliam is one of my favourite hotels, not just in Dublin. It may not offer the absolute wow factor of some other hotels I've visited around the world but it offers exactly what its guests want and need and that's exactly what I am looking for in a great hotel. read more

This nicely appointed hotel is located in an area filled with restaurants, pubs, gorgeous parks, etc. You can walk everywhere from the hotel. We also took part in their wonderful tea service. The server was a delight as she poured delicious teas and served us a variety of delights. read more

Great location and rooms are nicely equipped. Shower poured buckets of water. I have never experienced a shower like this hotel. Visit the bAr for a night cap and service was excellent. No USB ports in the rooms. read more

My boyfriend and I spent a lovely weekend in Dublin here. Incredibly attentive staff and service, beautiful room, and all the amenities one could want. A perfect location - only a few meters away from Grafton street and many lovely restaurants and sites. When I return to Dublin (hopefully soon!), I will certainly stay at the Fitzwilliam again! read more
