Honestly, the Luas access makes this location a huge win. We work down near Sandyford but like hanging out in the city after hours, so this gave us the best of both worlds. The hotel is standard Hilton fare, but the restaurant is surprisingly good - do yourself a favor and get the burger. I had a tiny bit of construction noise during my stay (May 2025), but overall it's clean and low-key. The front desk staff really handles business, too; when I first checked in, the room next door was partying, but they immediately moved me to a quieter room with zero hassle. It is also right near the canals, which makes for a nice walk to some local eatery's. read more

We are enjoying our stay! We have spent 3 days at this hotel. And have one more night here. It's been great so far! The room size is decent if you get the King sized bed. King sized bed is the way to go! Especially if you have two travelers. And the bathroom is a good size. I like that the shower is open and you can fit in there even if you are plus sized. House keeping comes everyday and gives you fresh towels. Sweet! The room was clean. And the air conditioning works. This hotel was reasonably priced for Dublin! Total win! :) read more

Had 2 stays at this location with the first for 2 days and then returned after 5 days for 2 more days. The first stay was on the 5th floor at the end of a corridor. We thought that it was going to be perfect and quiet. It was cold and very noisy. There was an annoying sound that went on for 1/2 hr, and we called downstairs and the staff searched and found it and claimed that it was the ac unit in December! They fixed the noise. The walls were thin and the doors slammed, startling me awake. The room was equipped w/a generous amount of toiletries, rubber and slippers. The corridor leading to our room had fire doors after every room and I have no idea why. Also, our floor in front of the elevator had a coffee/tea station with cookies. Nice touch! Bc we planned to return to the hotel, they graciously held our luggage until we returned. The hotel was located next to a train stop and that was very convenient for commuting. Fortunately, our room was on the other side. When we returned we were given a room (215) on the second floor near the elevator, w/no coffee bar on the floor. Our second room had no toiletries, robe or slippers and no wash clothes. Our fee was the same. As long time Hilton honors guest, it was rather insulting to be given a room that was clearly not the same designation/quality. I noticed when checking in that the young male rep didn't seem as friendly or appreciative of our status/stay. And when we conversed w/ the staff who helped us our first stay, when asked what room we were in, they seemed surprised and assumed we were on the 5th floor again. The hotel is also currently under construction/remodeling. Wish we had known that bc it was noisy. In addition to the fact that it was holiday time and the hotel was hosting private events every single day we were there so there was an influx of non hotel guests always in the lobby area. That was annoying and noisy too. I appreciated that a key card was required to access the room floors. The showers in both rooms were very nice and spacious. However, the location of the faucet was a nuisance and ridiculously located at the opposite end and past the rain shower head. I had to wear a shower cap to turn on the shower. Thankfully, I brought one bc 1 was not provided 1 in our second room. Also, the shower soap should have been easier to reach and located where the shampoo was instead. We were also put in a room on the end where the train station ran. Our profile clearly states that I prefer a quiet room on a high floor away from the elevator. Thankfully, the first night of our second stay, the train was out of service. The location of the hotel was a distance from downtown and w/out the trains running, we incurred addl expenses to uber around. It wasn't as quiet a stay as I would have preferred but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, there's only 1 pub close to the hotel and it has lines out the door so we opted to get late night drinks and food at the hotel. Bc the bar is being renovated, it's been temporarily located in the dining room. The food and service wasn't great at all. There was a hair in my husband's food. However, on our last day with an early flight, my husband got the buffet and it looked pretty good. He ate very little so it seemed a waste of money. I don't like buffets so I opted out. My guest and I needed twin beds with a tub in the bathroom so our kind manager converted one king bed into twins, and then our attentive maid, Mariorara provided exceptional daily care by making delightful towel animal sculptures as a finishing touch. Very conveniently located in Dublin and adjacent to the lightrail Charlemont station which makes getting around Dublin city very easy and affordable. From the moment I walked into this Hilton, the staff was very friendly and welcoming and could be more pleasing over my entire stay. Very clean and well-appointed my room on the third floor facing Charlemont Mall and Canal Road. From what I could tell, the rooms facing this side of the hotel are the best, because the other sides of the hotel either face directions with no view or to an internal courtyard. Like many hotel rooms in Europe that are small, room 310 was no exception. It did have all the amenities and comforts of standard Hilton properties which please me. There was a work/ desk area, large TV, chair and table, personal bedside reading lights, a very large counter in the bathroom with one sink and a deep bath tub with two shower head options (one hand held and the other from a ceiling mounted "rain" fixture. The 3rd floor also had a Nespresso coffee station that was always well stocked with multiple beverage options and even free snacks, which was very convenient and appreciated! We dined in the hotel restaurant a couple of evenings during the stay and both times the food tasted very fresh, meticulously prepared and very well presented. The restaurant and lounge area were clean, well-appointed and comfortable. Lastly, I will say that the morning breakfast buffet was very impressive, with so many great items to choose from. Each day of my 6-day stay it was very easy to enjoy something different and with so many great choices it was easy to please everyone! While this hotel is somewhat a bit distant from the core of Dublin City, as I mentioned before it is easy to get to with public transportation and in my experience well worth it to stay! read more

This is not your typical Hilton hotel. The hotel is really pretty and the service level a plus. The hallways look more like an apartment entry than traditional cold hotel. The bathroom products are high quality. The room smelled fresh and clean upon entry. It's nice and modern decor. They have lots of personal touches around the hotel like candle lanterns and bistro lights in the courtyard. It is located walking distance to many interesting things and great landmarks. The restaurant and bar are quite celiac friendly and the menu truly reflects conscious preparation that was impressive. Really nice food and really good service. We were thrilled to hear a young man named Ivan with a melodic voice that had my eyes filling with tears of joy playing guitar and harmonica in the restaurant and singing so beautifully that I had to take video to send to friends at home to share the joy. I needed to ask for an upgrade (King to King Deluxe). I got the upgrade, but not the complementary benefits of it. Larger room than booked, but no turn down service, no bathrobes, no slippers (as announced on the website) and only 2 times mineralwater. I also needed to asked for body wash, because the housekeeping forgot about it. Not even a single word to my birthday during my stay. So disappointing as a loyal HH Gold Member! And at the check out they charged me the wrong amount than booked. 107,50 Euro more. So I had to go back and complain about it. At the end we got invited for a complimentary drink at the hotel bar. My sister and I had a great stay for our trip to Ireland, the staff where so helpful the whole time we were there. The hotel is very nice, very clean. Our room was a little small side, but we weren't in the room that much. I would stay there in a heart beat. There staff are wonderful, really only one person who couldn't stop to help us when had a problem, twice, he acted like he couldn't be bothered at the front desk. Booked this last minute using my points when we changed plans and came to Ireland a day earlier a few years ago. It has easily been one of our best Hilton experiences. I used to travel for work domestically in US and always had acceptable experiences in Hampton inns. But Hilton Dublin exceeded my expectations. We got in very early to Dublin and during the summer season were able to check in early. Rooms were scarce but receptionist upgraded us and ended up paying a little extra to check in early even with gold status. Totally worth it as we were jet lagged and had a horrible flight on American air. They brought us complimentary fruit platter to our room. The breakfast was incredible. Our first experience in good life. Good variety of food and all tasty. Not at what we expected from hotel breakfast bars in US, which consisted of lukewarm eggs, bearable oatmeal, and semi-ripe fruit. Instead it was a platter of good cheese, fresh breads, jams, pastries and ready to make eggs. This was our first day in Ireland, and the rest of trip was AirBNBs. Which were mostly okay, but the trip was incredible and unexpected had the best food we ever had. Yes I know Ireland isn't known for food, but since our cousin lived there, we knew all the places to go. And the food ranks higher than whet we were used to in Chicago as everything tasted fresh and from nearby farms. I would definitely visit this place. Only if I could go back to Ireland.... read more

My second visit to the Hilton Dublin Hotel, Charlemont Place, on the Canal. I also choose the Marriott Shelbourne Dublin, St. Stephen's Green, which also treats me well. Pluses: + Usual comfy Hilton beds + 1/2 mile walk to Grafton street, or use the LUAS Tram, GREEN Line, adjacent to the property + Friendly, helpful staff + 24-hour fitness center Gripes: - One annoyance: After re-logging into Wi-FI 7 times to use my iPhone over a few hours, I gave up. This hotel's Wi-Fi can't be more annoying for guests. This also happened with my PC in the room as well as the iPad. Re-logging into Wi-Fi once a day per device is annoying enough. This is much worse. - No Executive Lounge (or coupon to compensate). Seems like something is missing from the Hilton Way. I learned upon check-out that an Executive Lounge is under consideration. Do it! Warning: My Corporate Travel Dept booked the hotel thru Expedia and HHonors points and stay credit were denied. Big disappointment. Located south of Dublin, plenty of public transportation available; all with in walking distance. My room was facing the canal. However there was not much of a view. Were it not for the fact that this hotel is directly across the street from the office I'd loathe to come here. It's nothing but a standard business hotel where, I guess, people don't expect much but a bar, a free breakfast, and a semi comfortable room. On this visit, one of at least ten I've made here over the past couple of years, there is construction next door that the front desk thinks starts at 8a and ends at 5p, when it really starts at 7a and ends closer to a little after 6p. I bent down to pick up a golf ball in my room and saw snot rags under the bed - who knows if they were due to the most recent departure before me or there longer. Someone called me from the front desk and rambled for about twenty seconds before I could get a word in edgewise to say, " I have no idea what you just said. " I never see the same crew consecutively and the team looks so young that I'm pretty sure this us the training ground for subpar hospitality excellence on the backs of sweet faced potentials who I hope end up at the Ritz Carlton someday. No bath robe this visit and I didn't even care to ask. Still the same room service menu since at least 2015 (in my head at least) and they don't provide any spa water on Level 2. But there's ice! I haven't stayed here but I booked it several times for my parents so I got to check out the rooms etc. Very spacious and nicely decorated. It's in a quiet location which is great yet at the same time you are only a 20 minute stroll into the city centre. The Luas is located right beside it too. It's great the refurbishment that they have done along the canal as it allows for a lovely jaunt should you so wish. The breakfast options were great too, several options for the more indulgent or the more health conscious. Very friendly staff and the bright open lobby is very welcoming. read more

The Hilton feels like a Hilton - large, open lobby, a couple of restaurants and a large checkout desk with smiling people behind the desk to help you. The Hilton lobby has been renovated recently since it does appear to be more updated than the rooms. The rooms are pretty large with a comfortable queen-sized bed, desk and a lounge chair. The bathrooms are not very new but clean and large. The room was quiet despite being located on a pretty busy road. The hotel has continental breakfast for 10.50€ (I think it was 14.50€ for full hot breakfast), but I was pretty impressed by the continental breakfast - lots of options, tasty muffins and a cappuccino machine. I also ate at the bar/restaurant a couple of times and the food there was solid. Workout room was of decent size - and it was surprisingly busy when I was there. A couple of ellipticals, stationary bikes and treadmills, a number of free weights and an area tucked in the back for mat-based work. read more

I found this Hilton Hotel nothing to write home about, but pleasant enough all the same. It's tucked under a LUAS line not far from Harcourt Street, but I don't think the location is ideal for a hotel. I was there for a small formal dinner and the main dining room is quite limited in size - so perfect if you're holding a small event or wedding reception, but nothing more ambitious than that. The bar at the reception was nice to sit in and the barmen were very entertaining - doing the whole 'shaken not stirred' business while mixing cocktails. The food was standard but certainly edible. I also used the gym a few times which was pretty simple but pretty typical for a business hotel. From the moment my husband, who is Irish, checked into the Hilton Hotel in downtown Dublin, we knew we Americans had stolen ALL the best Hilton amenities for ourselves in the United States. This unfortunate Hilton did not even have a bell hop. Instead the young ladies behind the check in counter had to do double duty as bell hops. The lift (elevator) was half the size of those in the U.S. as was the room, laughingly referred to as a "king" suite. The rugs have not been changed since the revolution and the walls were re-painted perhaps earlier than that. A perfectly formed foot print of a sneaker embellished the wall by the bed and the rugs were covered with stains. We were lucky enough to have to change rooms immediately after checking in because the bathroom smelled like a men's urinal after a long night of partying for St. Paddy's day. It was so bad I almost threw up as did the poor desk clerk who came up to check on the problem. Breakfast is included with the cost of the room. I can only say that the tinned peaches - something I have never encountered before in any high end hotel in the world - were quite good. That should tell one about the rest of the food. In a word "execrable"! Although the Bistro has excellent sea food chowder - along with really bad, noisy non Irish music. The people who work at the hotel are all very nice and helpful. It is not their fault that we Americans take the best and leave the second best for the rest of the world. Or perhaps the people who run the Hilton Hotels worldwide should be ashamed of how they operate their hotels in Ireland. read more

I took time out for a dinner and drinks with some friends at the Hilton last night. I must say, they have a very nice spread. The bar (called Stil) has a chic layout and the bartenders know their way around a cocktail glass. They also have a nice selection of top shelf liquors that you won't find in many pubs around Ireland. They are, however, not cheap. It's well worth it for a few drinks on the odd occasion, but you wouldn't be stopping off here on a regular basis. The dinner that followed was a bit of a let down. The staff were brilliant - friendly, attentive, and they really made the experience quite enjoyable but the food was quite bland. There was nothing exciting on the menu and even the things that appeared exciting came off as lacking seasoning or in many cases taste. It was food, it looked good, but it just wasn't that good. If I were rating this strictly based on the drinks and staff it would be five stars, but the food in the restaurant (Uisce) wouldn't get higher than two on a good day. Because of that I think even a three for the experience overall is being generous, especially considering the prices you pay for the food/drinks there. read more

The best hotel to stay in when you're in Dublin. The location was excellent, its location gives you the option to take the tram (literally a 30 second walk from the front door of the hotel) or a 15 minute walk to City Centre... and you don't hear the tram while in the room. Our room was on the 1st floor with a view of the river and the tram. The check in check out was easy, they staff members was extremely friendly and helpful. On the deluxe floor (1st) you have fresh pastries, delicious apples and infused water as soon as you exited the elevator, which was constantly refreshed throughout the day and evening. The rooms were nicely remodeled, clean and very comfortable and well insulated so outside noise was almost inaudible. The morning breakfast was delicious, you get buffet, everything is fresh, they asking you before you seating if you want your own omelets. We had the best experience there. Over Easter Weekend 2013, my father and I stayed here as part of a two-week Europe vacation. Staff greeted us on arrival with friendly advice about the weekend in Dublin due to the holiday. They provided us with valuable information that we may have otherwise not know about. Quality of the rooms were excellent! Recent renovations had clearly been done. Maid service was excellent as well as the concierge services. As it was Good Friday when we arrived, we dined at the hotel that day. If you're hoping to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but you still want to be within a short distance this hotel is ideal. It's on a sleepy portion of the canal just under the Charlemont luas stop, which is only two stops away from Stephen's Green and a short 10 minute walk into city centre. It's also a stone's throw from the Barge. The newly implemeted Dublin bike system has a bike drop off/pick up area just outside the hotel's doors so it's the perfect opportunity to take advantage of Dublin's newest experience. The lounge area serves American style cocktails, but like all cocktails in Ireland they're on the pricey side, but they seem to get the job done. The food is your standard fare as well, nothing particularly good to write home about, but the finger foods are enough to starve off the imminent post cocktails hunger attack. The main thing that draws me to the HIlton is the Costa Coffee bar, which in the morning hours serves up fresh made coffee for €2. A nice break from the higher prices served at an American coffee change off the next luas stop and just as cheap if not cheaper than the machine standard coffee you get in most shops. A definite good place to stop into if you work off the Charlemont luas stop or around the corner like I do. read more

A miserable experience. My wife and I both got food poisoning from the onsite restaurant and couldn't leave the room for 36 hours. While the staff is nice, the managers insisted that it must have been something else and refused to "make it right" (their supposed motto). I've stayed there a couple of times. The rooms were nothing special, even if the price would get you a top class room in other hotels. I had a member of staff intrude on my room early in the morning - clearly they don't communicate very well which rooms are occupied. The restaurant, called Stil, is nice for lunch. However, the low tables are unsuitable for eating from. Fortunately, they have some higher tables, but not many. The look and ambiance if the area is good though. The staff are generally friendly, in a paid-to-be-nice kind of way. They're polite, but once they leave your table, it can be an effort to get one of them back if you need them. When you have to be somewhere after lunch, that can be annoying. Their coffee is among the worst I have tasted, but luckily there are a couple of good coffee shops close by. The food is nice, but well overpriced for what it is. A sandwich is still a sandwich, even if you give it a fancy name and charge double for it. read more

Double glazed, room was very quiet on 5th floor. Mini bar has auto charge, so I couldn't use as a fridge for groceries. Wifi fast and hair dryer worked. Staff was very nice, lobby comfy. The Luas train station didn't really go many of the places I'd hoped just up to St Stephens Green for shopping. For temple bar and further bus or taxi. From airport the airbus stop closest to hotel takes you about a 10 min walk. Also there is a doubletree Hilton, so don't go there instead. read more

The staff here is friendly. The room is a total downer. It is a decent size, but the bed is rock hard. Why would they not want to take advantage of a mini bar here? I also tried to order lunch and was informed there was a €10 tray charge. What? I'm already paying way over what I would normally pay for a sandwich and coke, now you are charging me another 10 for no good reason? Bunch of mess that is! The food in the restaurant was WAY under par. I ordered a turkey sandwich, which was incredibly dry. The cheese on it? Dry. How do you make Brie dry? I don't know, but apparently they do here at the charlemont restaurant and bar. The only good thing about the bar is their drink called a sweet chili revenge. That is definitely the best thing and yet this place. Likely not worth the €14 they charge for it, but very good none the less. read more

They put out a great tea and coffee break spread with mini pastries and biscuits. The buffet style lunches are nice, nothing fantastic though. I visited Dublin for a short romantic weekend with the fiancee and Priceline sent us to the Hilton. Not only did the hotel very generously allow us to check-in after our epic red-eye, but gave us an incredibly comfortable room. Although small by American standards, it was larger than I expect in Europe. I would recommend requesting a room over the canal, because our room had the courtyard flood lights pointed into the window. Also...we discovered that this hotel is quite close to the cute neighborhood of Renelegh with much more authentic feeling restaurants/bears than the St Stevens Green area to the north. read more

First off we had to wait for our rooms. We made reservation months in advance and when we arrive (10am) told us our room would not be available till after 1pm. Give me a break. So not getting into our room till 1:30pm we took a little rest and started our day. Glad we like to walk because its a trek to downtown. But thats ok. The beds were terrible.
