I wanted to take a chance to update with my most recent personal and professional experiences with Cupcake Bar. If the bar was set high before, they have managed to exceed all expectations - AND during these strange times! The Cupcake Bar has found some incredibly creative ways to stay relevant during this pandemic. I reached out to them at the beginning of the summer looking for a summer picnic alternative for my company and they created a festive Summer Survival Kit for our employees filled with whimsical and useful items. They even managed to brand EVERYthing. Not just the packaging and the koozies and water bottles - they branded custom sunscreen packets! And the quality was excellent. I've had company branded goodies before from other companies that looked cute, but the items themselves were shoddy and the snacks were subpar. We had some soda bottle gummies in these care packages that looked great and tasted absolutely delicious. We have an employee who considers themselves a "gummy connoisseur" (seriously) and even they were very impressed! Beyond all of this, Cupcake Bar also made the shipping and delivery of 340 packages across Austin, Dallas, and Rockville MD a breeze. We already plan to use them for future packages - even if it's mainly to help us with the shipping and delivery piece. I would much rather support a local company and pay them for their time than have to handle that on my own for so many employees. But another example of their spectacular service would be our next project of custom t-shirts - they quoted us two versions of packaging and shipping and were happy to work with our current vendor. But they also mentioned a vendor they are working with (who also print masks, btw!) that turned out to be way cheaper and local and able to get us the style of shirt we wanted when our corporate office's vendor was out of stock. I am such a fan of this company that I decided I also wanted to personally sign up for their Sweet Subscription Boxes. I figured my family and I deserved to treat ourselves monthly as we get through this crazy year! And it has been such a joy to get these. They are beautifully packaged and a great mix of yummy and useful. It was so nice to have sparklers handy on Fourth of July for the kiddo and the marshmallow roasting kit was worth the August monthly cost alone! That thing is brilliant and will be a staple for our family forever. The options in the Austin smores box also opened our eyes to options we never even considered - my son loved mini M&Ms on his smores and I was surprised by how awesome a Reese's cup turned out to be! And that's the heart of the matter, really. Lori, Kim, and Cupcake crew bring such fun and innovative thinking to the table. I got to try the Cupcake Bar at a conference I recently attended. They catered the cupcakes for the interactive dessert session which was quite popular. The conference attendees all seemed excited about the made-to-order cupcakes. You got to pick the base, filling, icing, topping, etc. then a cupcake bartender will make it in front of you. It is like Build A Bear version of cupcakes if you know what I mean. The cupcakes were pretty I have to say. Some of them even have glitters on. I suppose you will produce fabulous glitter waste later? IMO the build-your-own-cupcake idea is great but the taste of the cupcake itself is really NOT on par. It was too sweet and sugary! It seems like the majority of the reviewers liked their cupcakes tho. But I really don't think I'm an outlier b/c my friend also said the cupcakes were too sweet and she didn't like them either.
