The most fun we've had doing art in a long time. Painting with a Twist is a fun, casual activity…read morethat fits into just about any occasion, whether it be a date night or just doing something with friends. There are a lot of class options (categorized by what painting you'll be doing) so there's good variety. We chose a very pretty painting which we did not have the foresight to realize would be pretty difficult to paint. Check-in was smooth and the studio is intimate; they also have all materials setup for you ahead of time including aprons. This is also a BYOB spot and many people had wine with them if that's the kind of twist you're looking for. Our instructor was very good during our class. She was genuinely passionate and patient with everyone, doing multiple stops and checks and reassuring us along the way that everything would be fine. This was more of an intermediate level painting that took a bit of skill and finesse so the patient attitude and slow pace was helpful in getting out paintings as close to the original as possible. The only downside to that was the activity ran well over the time we had scheduled for it (2 hours turned into 3-3.5 hours), which forced us to push back a dinner reservation we had made. That's not really a drawback if you have the time and want it to be perfect but for those maybe looking to do something after your painting then it's good to be aware of that. At the end of the event we were genuinely impressed by how well our paintings came out. The attention to detail and instruction make it so that anyone regardless of skill level can come in and put together a painting that would look good on the front of a fridge. They have many different classes and paintings to choose from and for the price it absolutely feels worth it to come back, which we will be doing soon.

Painting can honestly be a little stressful so bringing a bottle of wine definitely helped. Overall I think the price of these events is super fair given the cost of the materials and the time spent by the instructors. I would definitely recommend this for a date night activity!

Greeted with excitement, owner Rochelle of Board & Brush had me check in on her iPad. Showed me to my seat where we chatted for a bit. I saw my project in its raw form. I'm so excited to tackle this project. This is actually my second time coming so I know a little of what is expected. Rochelle does an amazing job taking you step by step and helping you. Even if you're not a crafter, never even handled a paint brush, Rochelle, and her staff are very patient, and very helpful. You start off with a raw board of pine. You're given a couple minutes to release your stress on the board. Hammering marks using chicken wire, a hammer, a mallet, and a large screw. You'll sand it lightly, and then stain it. Then it's time to stencil. Using a semi dry brush, you'll dab your brush on the stencil. Give it a minute under the fan to dry and peal the stencil off. And you're pretty much done. You get an official Bb logo sticker to complete your project. I recommend signing and dating your project on the back. Viola you're an artist! The Fancy Marshmallow Co. owner, Tina, she is such a sweetheart. She set up her beautiful marshcuterie spread. All made from scratch. Soft, fluffy, and flavorful treats. She has the cutest treats. All kinds of shapes and sizes. My favorite is the strawberry champagne. Trust me, they are amazing. Tina also brought in her hot cocoa mix ingredients and we all got to make our own bag of hot cocoa mix to take home. And we got to pick our goodies from the marshcuterie and box them up in the cutest boxes with heart printed tissue paper. Such a sweet touch to a fun class. I highly recommend coming to Board & Brush. Such a fun girls night out. They are BYOB, so it's a great group celebration. The Fancy Marshmallow, such a cute boutique, I've been several times. Tina comes up with the most delicious home made treats for all holidays and celebrations. Her boutique is the girliest cafes in Cedar Park! So darling. Check them both out. 5 stars!

Our teacher/model duo brought music and all supplies and took requests for music we wanted to hear. There was no touching and no crazy dancing... just cheeky art, fun banter, a very handsome nude dude, and lots of laughter and good times. The PERFECT event for any bachelorette or special birthday! Can't recommend this experience enough to others looking for a unique, adult way to celebrate with girlfriends!

He said the gallery's name is a play off his name with an art emphasis. Rich shared that his gallery was the only African American art gallery in Austin, thus I was intrigued. Since we finished the Art contest judging sooner than anticipated, I popped by his art gallery also located in East Austin. RichesArt is mind blowing! The gallery feels like a full-on creative space. This is not your typical art gallery vibe with stark white walls where you cannot touch anything. This place is beaming with bright, bold colors that scream...this is art!!! The walls exude color, texture, life! There is a strong graffiti influence, mixed media, and pieces unapologetically authentic. The art gallery also serves as community hub. They host poetry slams, live jazz, a figure drawing class, art classes, and comedy shows. According to Rich, it's a creative playground for grown folks. While it was free to enter the art gallery, some of their events have an associated cost. The gallery environment is incredibly welcoming. A few folks were waiting to start a graffiti class. It appears folks come to RichesArt to connect and create. According to Rich, inclusivity is intentional and the gallery was built to reflect and celebrate culture.

The gallery showcases work from a truly diverse group of artists, each bringing a distinct and thoughtful approach to expression. There's a real sense of creativity and intention behind the curation. You don't feel like you're just walking through another generic art space. The owner is an exceptionally talented and kind young man, and that energy clearly sets the tone for the entire gallery. From the moment you walk in, you feel a warmth and openness that makes you want to slow down, look closely, and actually experience the art rather than rush through it. Beyond the main gallery space, there are outdoor installations that add another layer of interest, as well as a vintage boutique tucked away in the back that's well worth exploring. It feels like a place that's constantly evolving, with new details and updates that would make repeat visits rewarding. This is definitely the kind of spot I'd return to regularly just to see what's new. Unfortunately, I live in another state but for those of you in Texas, take full advantage of having a place like this nearby. It's absolutely worth the trip.

I was hoping to make more than just one small block and have different supplies like fabric for printing. It was very therapeutic to carve my small block. The class felt a little scattered - but it was a very easy going environment, super relaxed. Our instructor was friendly and encouraged us to tap into originality without overthinking it instead of looking up patterns or inspo on our phone. I really liked that. And she offered us all coffee, freshly made. You can basically come in to do all the arts and craft your heart desires, on a donation basis. Affordable and unique way to release your artistic side without investing too much in all the supplies and then an abandoning a hobby. I'd come back with a friend and check out a different class.
