Amazing tour of the town and I owe it all to Brynn!?! (sp)? She was a true navigator at the helm of an adventure for my wife and I. We found the town initially vast and unknown but after Brynn's command of the helm on our journey through the seas of the city life I truly felt at ease. O captain my captain you knew what was up and I think she had the details down better than our past excursions to the ends of the earth. I've been to Iceland and Hawaii and everything in between yet this was the single most impactful tour I've been on! I was looking for something fun to do this weekend while visiting my son who lives in Austin, TX, and came upon the AUSTIN EATS FOOD TRUCK TOUR. That sounded like something really fun to do, so I signed up. Our tour guide was super friendly and kept the atmosphere fun. He made sure that everyone was comfortable and engaged throughout the tour. In fact, by the end of the tour, we had all made some new friends. In my opinion, our guide was a five-star host who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The tour started on time. The van was comfortable and always prompt to take us to the next place. Our guide provided provided us a variety of beverages throughout the day which kept us well-quenched. In fact, I had to make a pit stop at La Barbecue, where I was delighted to find a super cool bathroom, with blinking lights and disco music! It was truly a unique experience. As for the food, the tour did not disappoint. We were given a variety of food from breakfast to dessert, including a brisket and cheese kolache from Kerlaches, sliced brisket and pulled pork from La Barbecue, and a fried chicken sandwich with curry from Spicy Boys. We also tried Industry's breakfast taco with salsa and a variety of brews from Zilkers. Finally, for dessert, I chose the salty caramel gelato from Dolce Neve Gelato. Although I didn't have enough experience at these restaurants to write a full review, my brief visit and taste test was 95% positive. Most of the food was absolutely delicious, and I had a great time trying new things. There was definitely more food than I could eat; in fact, I had to leave some. The tour guide did offer "doggie" bags to those who wanted them. There were long lines in front of several of the places, indicating how popular these places were. The plus for us being a tour is that we got to skip the lines. That was a bit hit! The only negative aspect of the tour was the initial confusion caused by an incorrect time in the confirmation email, but it was a minor issue that didn't affect our overall experience. I would highly recommend AUSTIN EATS FOOD TRUCK TOUR to anyone looking for a fun and delicious way to explore Austin's food scene. This review will not do justice to how incredible an experience we had with Austin Eats Food Tours! But I'll do my best. Myself and 3 friends did this tour on a hot and sunny Saturday afternoon as part of a bachelorette weekend. All together, the tour was about 12 people, so fairly small and intimate group. Overall I'd give our experience a 9/10 and here's why: Food: 8/10 - You'll indulge in some of the best food Austin has to offer in a short amount of time, so definitely come hungry. We had La Barbecue (all of our faves) and Spicy Bird at our first stop @ Zilker Brewery, Lazarus Brewery, Granny's Tacos and Easy Tiger. Most of us were full by the 2nd or 3rd food item, so you'll definitely be stuffed by the end. Service: 10/10 - Our tour guide was Joe and he couldn't have been nicer! He was also so knowledgeable. Made us all feel welcome from the very start. You can tell he loves doing this, and he's great at it! Dietary accommodations: I'm gluten free and someone else in the group was dairy free. I went into this tour thinking it would be impossible to eat everything, but Joe made sure I was able to find a substitution at each stop when necessary. I was able to fully indulge in the BBQ, had a substitution of papaya salad and tater tots at Spicy Bird, had the breakfast taco and mole taco on corn at Lazarus and Granny's respectively, and instead of having the French toast at Easy Tiger, I got a gift card for a gelato place down the street instead. Such a nice gesture! Value: 9/10 - All things considered, for the amount of food and alcohol (there were NA options avail at the each stop in case you don't partake) we had, I'd say it was worth the $99 pp. Probably saved about $20-30 or so between those and tips. read more

I have done a food tour one other time in Miami and had a great time . So I was very excited to do another one on my trip to Austin. I was with my best friend and her Aunt (who lives in Austin) and we had the best time ! Our tour guide was fun and very accommodating ! My friends aunt is gluten free and he made sure to tell her at each stop that it was okay for her to eat. I do not like carbonation in any of my drinks, and at each place he made sure he accommodate me, which I was not expecting and I ended up having one of my favorite drinks I have ever had. All the food and drink spots we stopped at were fantastic; and even better , my friends Aunt hadn't even been to any one of the places so she found some new good spots to go to. Since I absolutely loved Austin, I will be coming back to visit and definitely be doing another food tour with Austin Eats ! Can't wait! read more

Officially known as the Luxe Brunch by Austin Eats Food Tour, but really it should be renamed to The Best Bang for your Buck Food Tour in Austin, TX! Some amazing offerings on that day like the best biscuit I've ever had. I won't forget you, biscuit. Nom nom nom This food tour provided the most food and dranks I've ever consumed in 3.5 hours on a tour. And we were shuttled all around in a bus with AC. A must during the hottest and humid week in October! Highly recommend if you're there on a weekend. I probably had the best biscuit I've ever put in my mouth that day. The overall experience was neat and also nice to have someone explain some Austin history, while not having to worry about driving yourself or standing in line. I did the BBQ Brunch and Brews tour which started at Lazarus Brewing. Phenomenal place which I could've stayed at all day. The beer was amazingly good (you got 2 small pours), and the chorizo breakfast taco was amazing! After that we did Kerlich BBQ, which I thought was alright (I'm not a BBQ fan) but the kolaches were to die for! We had a super fancy, very cold tour bus that we rode on that had some beer, cider, water and soda on. I wish there was more, as people seemed to be fighting for water and a group of frat boys drank most of the beer. We hit up Hightower, which honestly I didn't care for at all. I didn't think the chicken and waffles were any good (super salty and funky, maybe old tasting). When I asked what kind of beer they had the waitress just said "IPA, Hefen..." I kinda want to know what brands since there's some I don't like. We topped that off with legit gelato at Gemelli and finished with 2 small pours at Zilker Brewing (very good beer). I would definitely try one of these tours again as Sheena our tour guide was fantastic- very friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable. I wasn't a fan of the food in general (minus the gelato- yum), and there wasn't as much beer tasting as I expected/wanted. But I guess I'll have to try the happy hour one. I've never done a food tour before, but my mom had a great experience with one in Georgia, so we decided to give it a try. We had the option of going on a limo tour, but the shuttle tour sounded more fun and laid-back. I'm glad we went with Austin Eats Food Tours! Our tour started at 10:30 am, and we visited six different spots. Our first stop was at Kerlaches, and we both got half a Kerlache, which was amazing and an excellent way to start the day. Then, we went to LaBarbeque, a locally-owned spot where we had brisket and pulled pork. Make sure to check out both bathrooms - they're unique and worth a photo. One very cool thing about the tour was line-skipping. When we pulled up to LaBarbeque and saw the huge line that literally wrapped around the side of the building, we were so glad we were on the tour! We went straight in and didn't have to wait in line. Next, we went to Zilker Brewing Company, where we tried two beers. The Heavenly Daze was hazy, juicy, and low in bitterness, while the Coffee Milk Stout was creamy and robust. We also tried the Spicy Boys spicy chicken sandwich, which was delicious, and the yellow curry roti, which was mild but flavorful. We then went to Industry and tried the Al Pastor breakfast taco, which was my least favorite thing on the tour. Finally, we stopped at Dolce Neve Gelato, where I had the terimasu flavor, and it was an excellent way to end the day. Our guide, Joe, was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a brief history of each place we visited and made us feel like we were discovering great local spots. There were about 20 of us on the tour, and my mom and I had the chance to chat with some great local Austinites, as well as visitors from other places. The shuttle had local alcohol in the cooler, one of them direct from Zilker, and I had another Heavenly Daze since it was so good. The only critique I have is that the breakfast taco place didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the tour, and I would have preferred to visit a more exciting spot. Also, I received two different emails with different tour times, and it would be helpful to ensure that the time is consistent. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Austin Eats Food Tours and would do it again. The tour provided a great opportunity to discover local spots, taste delicious food, meet new people, and skip long lines. Highly recommended. Did the food tour today and had a GREAT time. We purchased the ticket that included alcohol with our food. We all met at Zilker Brewing Co for a drink and sampled some delicious pulled pork, brisket, chipotle slaw from La Barbecue. I had Zilker's Mango Seltzer and hubby tried two of their IPAs which he liked a lot. The next stop was just a short walk to VIA 313 to sample 3 pizzas and a beer. Next we went to Lazarus Brewing Company. I really enjoyed Hellshot, a smoked helles. Hubby tried two IPAs. We also got a breakfast taco. Our last stop was a little longer walk to Easy Tiger. Jesus. This tour is awesome. We went originally because my husband went to high school with one of the hosts. The entire experience was extraordinary. At first I thought $85 for a couple of hours tasting samples sounded ridiculous. By the end of the day, I couldn't understand how they actually make money- it's that incredible of a value. Scott was our host and he was awesome!!! Such a cool guy and a great personality. He was cool with the adults and the OLDER kids (note* kids under 16 aren't allowed but the point of that clause is to ensure that everyone- the kids themselves and other adults on the tour have a great time... there's some adult language, some beer and cider on the bus, discussion of Austin's first brothel, etc..). Do not bother eating ANYTHING before you go on this tour, perhaps even the night before and go ahead and plan on skipping any meals for the rest of the day afterwards ;-) Back to the tour... getting La Barbeque without waiting in line in the rain for 3 hours before the restaurant is even open and the rest of the line glares as you walk right in? Priceless. We did 4 stops and all were incredible. The stops change based on the circumstances because they seem to have partnerships with all of the best vendors in Austin. Great food, great drinks, great fun and great entertainment. If you can only do one thing in Austin- make sure this is it!!!! *ps. only one minor tweak or suggestion: over half of the group didn't like beer but were excited to be offered an adult beverage when the tour started out (most of the ladies) and it seemed like they were going to get into a fight over the last can of cider on the bus ;-) Maybe have more ciders on board, just in case. read more

I've now experienced Austin Eats public/group tours and private/corporate tours a few times, each tour has been awesome. My first experience with Austin Eats was a "Best of Austin" Food Truck tour on a Saturday in November 2018. I purchased 10 tickets on a public tour to celebrate my birthday with some close friends. Everyone raved that it was a fun experience (most especially for the visitors - who loved that they were able to see some of Austin's iconic neighborhoods and try some of the best food truck selections across the city)! We couldn't finish all of the food we tried (a no-wait, family style sampler platter from la Barbeque was the crowd favorite) but made room for dessert from Churro Co. I also loved that they provided local beers, ciders and koozies on the tour van - which made the day feel especially celebratory! The whole group was fun and the tour guides are entertaining. Pick-up and drop-off were a breeze, and walking distance to some cool bars and bites on West 6th (for afterparty/football). Great bang for buck, worth every penny. On the corporate side, you have more flexibility on date/time/pick-up & drop-off location. You can even customize the itinerary a bit (based on operating hours for the trucks). Word of warning, our event was on a Monday - which is when most trucks are closed for a day-off - so I would change the day of the week if I booked again! Another difference from the public tour is that you will be asked to cover the cost of the tour van (which I felt was reasonable for the 3-4 hour tour and a designated driver for the drinkers). Another FYI on the corporate tour option - the "tour van cooler" stocked with local beers didn't exist - so I'd ask for that next time around. It really does add to the overall tour experience (now having it both ways). My team rated this their favorite "team fun" event of 2019 and I've recco'd it several times for this reason! read more

Oh man, it was the best Sunday we have all had in a long time! I kept hearing "this is awesome man, thank you for inviting me" from the group. Adam did such a great job of guiding us and keeping the group on track and informed. It truly felt like we were hanging out with another friend. My friends can be a rowdy bunch (but never disrespectful) and what might have been uncomfortable for another tour guide or company did nothing but put a grin on Adam's face.
