Please do the pedicab selfie mural ride with Metrocycle Pedicads if you're ever in Austin. It was a cool ride full of interesting stops. My husband and I met up with 2 other couples and had a whirlwind of a time for the next 1.5 hrs. We were in Leo's cab, his wife had her own cab, and Caleb was the leader of the tour in another cab. We got a wonderful perspective of Austin while getting out pictures taken for unforgettable memories. Leo was charming and entertained us with tidbits of information about life in Austin. Once the tour was done, Leonardo was kind enough to bike us back to this park so we could walk across and get lunch at Terry Black's. I highly recommend this tour! read more

We had a blast! We were a bit late in the day and when we went to the visitor center to book they were booked up, but they recommended we call and try to book direct as sometimes they'll have a driver who will accommodate. So we tried that and got a driver who said they'd be happy to come get us in 30 min. 30 min later Caleb showed up we were ready to roll! Caleb was so great! We choose the brewery tour and got to go to 3 breweries, all which had excellent beer. Caleb was funny, gave us the low down on the neighborhoods, and was an excellent driver! We had so much fun! He had no problem dropping us at our hotel instead of our pickup stop, and even took us on a little detour on the way back that has a great view of the water and the sunset! Great time! We booked the Selfie and Mural tour for 7pm, and it ended up being an awesome way to cap off the day and start our evening. Our guide ended up being Molly, who is a native Austinite and really knowledgable about the city. She picked us up from our hotel, the JW Marriott and also called beforehand to confirm time and pick-up. We tooled around East Austin, downtown Austin, and South Austin, got to see some really awesome murals, including an authentic Banksy. We definitely got to see parts of the city we never would have known about and we got to hear backstory about all the crazy development now happening in Austin. Molly was super friendly and super informative. We totally told everyone we knew that this was a tour that should definitely be booked if you want a tour of Austin. We hired Metrocycle Pedicabs for our wedding, and it was a fun and "true to Austin" way to do a wedding sendoff. The pedicab ride was actually a rare moment on our wedding day where we got to just spend quality time alone together as bride and groom. We really enjoyed riding a pedicab to downtown and sharing our favorite moments from the wedding. :-) Nathan (the owner) was easy to work with. He was the first of all the local pedicabs to provide a quote for us, and I like how his wedding pedicab was outfitted with a "Just Married" sign and white flowers. We were so happy we booked with Metrocycle for our recent wedding. Nathan was very quick to respond to emails, even the day of when I was wondering if it would have a canopy in the event of rain (answer: yes). It ended up being the perfect way to end our evening, enjoying the ride from downtown to the South Congress Hotel. Our driver was there early, super nice, and stopped to take pictures of us at Jo's so we have super cute photos at the I love you so much mural. We ended up booking the regular pedicab vs. the "just married" one since it's considerably cheaper. The driver showed up a little earlier to make sure he was on time for our bubble send-off exit, and our guests loved the super adorable "just married" pedicab waiting for us! Despite getting a phone call from them days before to confirm...when it came time for us to leave our reception, we had to hitch a ride from a friend instead of being pedaled away in Austin style. What fun! This was just like our own little parade! We were married at the Allan House at 11th and San Antonio, and this made for some awesome pictures; coming out of the house surrounded by friends holding sparklers and then hopping into the cab! Seriously, taking anything but a pedicab would have been a missed opportunity! Family was in town recently and I hired a pedicab to meet us at the Downtown Metrorail Station and take us for a tour around Austin. It was FABULOUS!! Michael was our driver and initially they'd given me a quote for a tour that would last "about 40 minutes". We ended up touring with him for 1 1/2 hours! He took us by The Capitol, Congress Ave., 2nd St. District, etc. and then ultimately across the river to Zax's where he dropped us off for dinner. I would totally recommend doing this! So there I was at SxSW, needing to get back to my hotel from across town after an evening of festivities. Got a great ride from a friendly and dedicated pedaler, but it turns out my phone fell out of my pocket during the ride. Disaster!! Not to worry. I set it to lost mode with my name and hotel displayed on the screen and pinged it a few times (thanks Find My Phone) and next thing you know I'm getting a call from Metrocycle Pedicabs manager Donald. He's got my phone and will happily drop it at the front desk of my hotel after his shift ends at 3am. What?! I left my SXSW badge in the pedicab on Friday night of music along with my id, credit cards, debit cards and $150 in cash. I was paralyzed with fear that I wouldn't get any of it back.
