It was a labor of love! My bride squad and I had a great time cruisin' and boozin' around Austin on our Hipside Peddler. We brought our own personal favorites: music, snacks and wine, but also enjoyed the food and bevs of the places we stopped. A few of our pit stops included: Grackle, Zilker Brewing Co., Yellow Jacket Social Club, and Lazarus Brewing Company. Our guide, Rachel, was fun, full of energy and took great care of our party! I would definitely recommend this little adventure/bar hopping tour to anyone looking for a good time for a special occasion, or just something fun to do with friends in the city!

Hipside Peddler is such a FUN thing to do because it is not every day that we get to ride around Austin on an electric assisted bar on wheels, while sippin' on an alcoholic beverage that makes you feel a little bit prettier & blasting your favorite music so loud, that you think you're at the club!! ;)) Sounds fun, right?! :)) Trust me, you WILL for sure get points for creativity if you book a tour w/ Hipside Peddler to celebrate a special occasion. We booked the "Eastside tour" w/ Hipside Peddler on Saturday, 11/14/2020 to celebrate my friends 40th birthday & we had so much FUN! This was my 1st time so I had no idea what to expect but I can say that I am so glad that we were able to safely celebrate my friend's milestone birthday during this time of pandemic craziness. Since sharing is caring here are a few of my "Helpful Tips", "FYIs", & "Likes"... FYI: *You will be peddling the same way you would if riding a bike so be mindful of your foot wear & you will be getting a mini workout while peddling. *There are mini fans above each seat that you can turn on, if needed. *The peddle boat driver does have a plexiglass barrier between him & the passengers as a COVID safety precaution & the peddle boat itself is all open w/out any walls. *You can tip your peddling boat driver in cash & via Venmo. *The "Eastside" tour is 2 hours long & we made 3 separate stops at different local bars for 15-20 mins each so you can use the restroom, cool off, take a few pictures w/ your peeps and/or buy a drink while relaxing at each bar. Our awesome peddle boat driver was Matt & he also made a 4th stop at an Italian ice truck. *Each passenger must submit a liability waiver & you can do it electronically. Once your tour has been booked, you will get the waiver emailed to you. Helpful Tip(s): *BEVERAGES~I recommend that you bring your own ice chest already filled w/ ice & beverages (no glass containers are allowed) & there is an open area in the middle of the peddle boat for ice chest storage. *FOOD~only snacks are allowed & I suggest you bring snacks that are easy to munch on since you will be peddling while eating them. ( ex: mini bags of pretzels, individually wrapped cookies) *MUSIC~The peddle boat does have a stereo system that is very loud & has a usb that you can connect your phone to for music. I highly recommend that you create a music playlist of songs that help set the vibe that you're going for. I made a playlist using Spotify of all the songs I wanted to play. Lastly, I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Matt, who was our p.d driver because he really did a GREAT job of explaining "all things peddle boat" :) & putting us at ease so we could fully enjoy ourselves. Hipside Peddler was way more fun than anticipated! I went on the East Side Ride with a group of friends and Max really took care of us. He was very personable, patient and flexible with how we spent the allotted time. It was a great outing and a very different experience! On the evening I went it was just our smaller group on the tour so we had full control of the jams, cooler and schedule. We definitely held up traffic a bit when on some of the main roads but the motorists and bystanders we came across waved and cheered us on. Thankfully there is a motor on board so it's not necessary to be fully exerting yourself peddling. Recommend for a fun activity. Ask for Max! read more

We visited Austin for my wife's 40th birthday for 4 days and did the Hipside Peddler as our first event with our group. Our party was 20+ and did the East Side Ride and were very pleased with the tour. Pros: Very responsive, professional, drivers Alex and Max were great and fun Cons: Nothing really outside of one of the bikes having an issue, but we still did our tour and had a blast. Highly recommend the Eastside Ride because all 3 places we went to were excellent. Central Machine Works- Make sure you don't bring in any outside drinks or food. The drinks were great but they had an amazing vegetarian pizza that was delicious Lustre Pearl Rainey- This was the second place we went and we had some appetizers and drinks. Unfortunately, we were there for a short time and wish we could have stayed longer because the bartender working there was awesome Last place I don't remember the name and the food was great, but the service was iffy. Overall it was a great tour, but I think we didn't get enough time at the last 2 places because it felt rushed. We ended up having the tour leave us at the last place because we wanted to enjoy it. Going to give them 5 stars even though I felt it's probably more closer to a 4, but the tour guides were awesome and they helped make the decision easier read more

You just can't make this shit up people lol!! Very disappointed with our experience. Went to Austin for a bachelorette party. Was looking forward to this being a highlight of our trip. First bar was very empty and very sketchy. In the middle of a not so welcoming neighborhood (even our Uber driver afterwards confirmed we were not in a good part of town). We left our first stop about 10 minutes in due to it being a total bust. On our way to the second stop our bike started making loud clicking noises. Our driver looked like he was trying to get the motor on board to work by pushing his pedal down over and over and that didn't work either. He tried to tell us we weren't pedaling hard enough and that it was our fault the bike wouldn't move so he was just going to skip right to the last bar.... only about 30-45 minutes into our trip. That didn't seem right. Bike ended up completely stopping in a very uncomfortable area. We had a few homeless men try hitching a ride and both bachelorette parties on board had their brides pushing the bike from behind just to get it off the street. Keep in mind, we had several CrossFit competitors on board who could not get the bike to move when pedaling. Shouldn't have been an issue considering they squat double their own weight. I've been on several trips in different places and never had an issue moving the bikes I've been on even up small hills. Our party decided we would end our experience with this bike and Uber to Rainey street which was AWESOME. But this company refuses to refund us and claims the bike was in perfect working condition. There's just no way! I'm attaching a few photos of what we documented. It's something we are laughing about now that it's been a few days but we were very upset when it happened. Also, our driver/ guide didn't help at all when we were telling him that the homeless people were trying to hitch a ride on the back. And our bike was decked out in Pizza Hut signs as if they were being sponsored. All around, most uncomfortable, unprofessional, and shady experience any of us have ever had. I do highly recommend Rainey street for anyone visiting from out of town, but avoid this company at all costs. We all (both bachelorette parties that ditched our tour) had a blast on Rainey street, but hated this tour!!! read more

I loved that we were able to just walk in when they opened to grab our bikes. Within minutes, we were on our way. My boyfriend and I rented bikes to ride the Walnut Trail. Prices are really good and include a helmet and lock. The bikes are in great shape and the owner of the shop, Adam, has great recommendations on trails/routes if you're unfamiliar with the area. He was really kind, helpful, and meticulous when making sure our bikes for us perfectly! Can't wait until my parents come into town, so I can take them on a bike and brew tour. They also offer short term and longer term rentals.

He gave us the inside scoop on the city while keeping the energy high with some great music playing as we cruised. The electric minibikes were super comfortable and easy to handle, even if you've never ridden one before. We stopped for some seriously cool photo opps at spots we probably wouldn't have found on our own. It's easily the most unique way to see the city. She contacted Texas Bike Tours, and Deaton spent a lot of time working with her to create the perfect customized itinerary just for us. We rode about 8 miles and hit up all the best foodie spots, saw some of the most beautiful and historic parts of the city, and had an incredible time eating tacos at Vera Cruz and doughnuts at Gordoughs. The bikes we rented through Mellow Johnny's were great, we were provided with fresh baked granola bars, lemon water, helmets and bags for our stuff. The weather was perfect, and I can't say enough good things about our guide Katherine and Texas Bike Tours. She was incredibly knowledgable about the city, history, and architecture. She's also an excellent photographer! She snapped pictures along the way, and all the pictures are uploaded to Dropbox for us to use as we please. Upon our return, we were given hot towels to freshen up, and hugs (optional, but I like hugs). Whether you're visiting Austin, or you're a seasoned local, if you like being outdoors, you should check them out! Such a memorable afternoon and such fantastic customer service. They're passionate about what they do and it shows.

We had such an amazing time on Lake Travis thanks to Willo and Float On. Everything about the…read moreexperience was extremely streamlined from booking to filling out waivers to navigating to the marina. Willo gave superb instructions on operating and piloting the boat including an overview of relevant customs and laws while out on the water. Our group had six adults and one 2-year old and they had plenty of water safety devices for all ages. On a side note, it was wonderful to see how genuinely excited Willo was about Lake Travis once again having a healthy water level after several dry years. In terms of our experience on the lake, we got excellent advice on where to travel based on our team's interests and after following his directions it felt like we had arrived on our own private lake. We probably only saw a handful of other boats during our 3-hour excursion and that was only in passing. The boat came with a Garmin GPS that made it really easy to retrace our steps. For those wondering, there was excellent cell phone service out on the lake and we were able to use our phone GPS, make calls, and stream music. The boat had some nice integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity and we were able to jam out to our own tunes. There was also a cool flotation device attached to the back of the boat called the Aqua Lily Pad which we unrolled after anchoring, we had multiple adults laying on it without sinking into the lake. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience and we would highly recommend booking with Float On.

That level of service carried over to most of the staff on the boat, making the experience even more enjoyable. During the event, I was introduced to Paul, who was seated with a group of friends. He was introduced to me as the boat owner and came across as relaxed and not at all pushy--qualities I appreciate when considering a business, especially since part of my motivation for attending was to explore options for my birthday celebration. Unfortunately, Paul's friends left a negative impression. A couple of them outright refused to acknowledge me, turning away when a gentleman attempted to introduce me. Others made inappropriate jokes about my accent in a condescending and offensive manner. One individual even made vulgar comments, implying that Paul should get my phone number to discuss event planning details later, which was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. While the event itself was enjoyable, the boat ride interesting, the behavior of those around the boat owner and the fact that the boat owner never replied to my text message trying to discuss my event, was disappointing and detracted from my overall experience. This experience left me with a negative impression of the boat's management, and I strongly feel that they are not welcoming to immigrants. The group consisted of older white men whose behavior was filled with prejudice and hostility. And for that reason I felt compelled to post a review discouraging people like me- and those against this type of behavior - to stay away and make better choices. We can use our money to invest in a much better experience elsewhere I left the boat traumatized and truly disgusted by those old men behaviors. Do better!

We had a bachelor party with seven guys and needed a last-minute yacht reservation. We were stressed, scrambling to get everything together, and honestly weren't sure if we'd even be able to make it happen. Then we found Shoreline Boat Rentals, and Captain Dave completely saved the day. From the beginning until the moment we said goodbye, Dave's customer service was second to none. Even with such short notice, he had the yacht cleaned, prepped, and ready to go. When we arrived, he had a checklist ready to make sure we didn't forget anything in our vehicles before we left the dock. It sounds simple, but when you're trying to organize a bachelor party, little things like that make a huge difference. He took all the stress off our shoulders so we could focus on having fun. The yacht itself was absolutely beautiful--honestly, the pictures on the website don't do it justice. It's even more impressive in person, and it was spotless from front to back. What impressed me most was Dave's attention to detail. I needed a screwdriver to fix one of our water guns, and before I knew it, Dave showed up with one and even fixed it for me. That's the kind of customer service you just don't see very often. Once we got to Devil's Cove, Dave went above and beyond. He helped grill burgers, made sure everyone had food, drinks, and plenty of ice, and kept checking in to make sure everyone was having a great time. It honestly felt like his mission was to take all the thinking out of the day so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves--and he absolutely accomplished that. Safety was also a top priority. Before we left the dock, Dave clearly explained the rules while the boat was underway and while it was anchored. Everything was straightforward, easy to understand, and he made sure everyone stayed safe without taking away from the fun. Pulling into Devil's Cove was one of the highlights of the day. We cruised in with the music playing, the yacht looked incredible, and it definitely turned some heads to get the attention we wanted! It made for an unforgettable bachelor party. Captain Dave didn't just provide a yacht--he created an experience. He turned what could have been a stressful, last-minute situation into one of the best days we've had together. 10/10 across the board: customer service, professionalism, cleanliness, safety, and the overall experience. Whenever I'm back at Lake Travis, I'm booking with Shoreline Boat Rentals again. I won't even look at another company. Captain Dave earned a customer for life. Highly, highly recommend!

The absolute best experience and time EVER. I (unfortunately) moved away from Austin a few years ago but still love coming back to visit as much as possible. My last visit was my best visit because of Hipside Peddler. 1. I got to have ALL of my favorite Austinites in the same place, drinking, moving, interacting, socializing. This was so much better than doing a big group dinner where I can't catch up with multiple people. 2. It was AWESOME to see the East Side and how much has it has grown and changed since I've lived there!!! 3. All I had to do was show up and then have fun. All of the stress of my visit, planning, coordinating, etc., was taken care of by Hipside!!! I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in Austin but especially anybody visiting or returning that needs to see/have fun with lots of people in small amount of time. #RIDEHIPSIDE!!! read more

We were planning to use hipside peddler for my sisters bachelorette. I bought a non-refundable ticket (knowing that was risky due to COVID). When Texas shut down their bars for a second time I knew we would not be able to make our tour. I called Matt from hipside and chatted with him. While he couldn't offer a full refund, he gave me a store credit to use whenever I wanted. Or I could also sell the credit on Facebook marketplace. So sad we won't get to use hipside in a few weeks, but would definitely recommend and will come back once given the chance. The people here are so understanding and willing to work with you. All you have to do is show them some respect and be willing to work with them. Kindness can go a long way read more

I don't even know where to begin -- this pedal tour was BEYOND AMAZING. It 100% made my (and my friends!) trip to Austin. We booked this for my bachelorette party and everyone said it was the highlight of their trip. We fell in love with Andre & Rachel instantly and tried to get them to hang out with us after. Andre ran our tour and bless his soul for dealing with us -- he was UNREAL. We could have stayed on that bike forever. From signing to our playlist to being able to belt it out with the microphone, we had the best time. Andre also took us to the best spots -- every bar was amazing. Hipside Peddler was amazing! We had a mixed group of locals and friends visiting from out of town and had the best time ever. Johnny was our driver and provided a great experience - super patient with our group and very accommodating. We mostly skipped over the bars because we were having such a fun time peddling around. The bike was very comfortable and had all the amenities you could want, including a great sound system, phone chargers, and a cooler with ice. Kristin was also super helpful getting our big group of 15 to complete the waiver process and explain the rules, route, etc. One of our most fun days in Austin - you will not regret this experience!! read more

Had a great time with Hipside Peddler for a bachelor party weekend. Alex was an awesome guide and took us to lesser known East Austin places over the course of the two-hour tour. Honestly, it flew by! There is a bench seat at the back for people that don't want to pedal but it was super easy and fun to participate. They let you bring alcohol and provide a cooler, we stopped at some really cool bars and it was a great way to spend the afternoon. Alex was our driver and was the best!!! Super fun experience! We did the holly hangouts tour and kitty cohens bar was amazing!! If only it was a little warmer we could have dipped our feet into the pool they have in the patio area. Peddling is so much better on the East Side! The seats had backs on them, which made the ride comfortable and safe and there was KARAOKE! The owners are extremely friendly and fun to hang out with, and the bars visited had character and great drink prices. Highly Recommend! read more
