Hipside Peddler was way more fun than anticipated! I went on the East Side Ride with a group of friends and Max really took care of us. He was very personable, patient and flexible with how we spent the allotted time. It was a great outing and a very different experience! On the evening I went it was just our smaller group on the tour so we had full control of the jams, cooler and schedule. We definitely held up traffic a bit when on some of the main roads but the motorists and bystanders we came across waved and cheered us on. Thankfully there is a motor on board so it's not necessary to be fully exerting yourself peddling. Recommend for a fun activity. Ask for Max!

It was a labor of love! My bride squad and I had a great time cruisin' and boozin' around Austin on our Hipside Peddler. We brought our own personal favorites: music, snacks and wine, but also enjoyed the food and bevs of the places we stopped. A few of our pit stops included: Grackle, Zilker Brewing Co., Yellow Jacket Social Club, and Lazarus Brewing Company. Our guide, Rachel, was fun, full of energy and took great care of our party! I would definitely recommend this little adventure/bar hopping tour to anyone looking for a good time for a special occasion, or just something fun to do with friends in the city!

We found Hipside Peddler after our Float the River tour was cancelled due to weather. We booked the day before our tour with no problems (it helped we were a full sized tour on our own) and we had a blast. We visited three locations: Yellow Jacket Social Club (dive bar), Zilker Brewing Co, and Lazarus Brewing Co. we were able to spend an hour at each of the first two locations and a little less than 30 min at Lazarus. You are able to bring your own beer for consumption on the peddler. Also - bring a phone with music - an aux cord is available. It rained during our ride but it was still very enjoyable. The peddler even offered us each a poncho to stay dry. Definitely recommend the peddle tavern if you're in town with friends/bachelor/bachelorette party. read more

BEWARE OF THIS VENDOR. We booked this Hipside Peddler for a bachelorette party and unfortunately, due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in Texas and the traveling restrictions mandated to several of the attendees we unfortunately had to cancel with over two weeks notice. While i understand we booked "non-refundable" tickets, ALL OTHER VENDORS IN THE AREA HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING and have processed refunds. There's absolutely NO excuse for not processing a refund when no services were rendered, cancellation was requested with ample notice. I would even understand charging a cancellation fee, but NO REFUND at all!? That's just stealing. Period. I am personally high risk (asthmatic and almost 8 months pregnant). Happy to know that a vendor is not accommodating to a high risk person during these unfortunate times. read more

I had coordinated a crew to do the East Austin bike tour for my wife's birthday. We all had a great time biking around to 3 different bars - Hops and Grain, Yellow Jacket, and the Grackle. It was a blast listening to music as we biked from one place to the next while drinking along the way. We had time for a drink at each place before continuing. Went on a bachelorette party and was excited to take part since doing one in Nashville was an amazing and fun experience. Alex was our driver. Clearly seemed like he DID NOT WANT to be there. Could not have been less enthusiastic about doing this on a Monday afternoon. I felt so bad for the bride who instantly felt the poor vibes. Alex was more interested about getting his food order at the first bar (which he cut the paying bachelorette party off so he could get a sandwich, most likely because he seemed high as a kite and needed to feed that hunger). Regardless of the waiver signed, safety should be a priority and it simply was not. He got our pedal tavern stuck in between 2 TRAIN TRACKS. Lights flashing, trains flying by us, and the conductor looked at Alex like he had three heads. It was embarrassing and scary. Not quite sure how that even happens... Multiple girls flew OFF the pedal tavern and Alex didn't even ask if we were okay? We could have been seriously hurt and ultimately died because of Alex's extremely careless attitude and demeanor. We asked if we could add more time in return for the terrible, unsafe experience, and he said he typically offers a deal that if every single one of us writes him a 5 star review, he will give us 2 extra minutes each... btw, 2 extra minutes? You almost killed us dude it, shut up, we're gonna need more than 2 minutes each to regroup. We obviously did not do that since none of us would EVER false advertise and give him a good review after our incredibly bad and dangerous experience. We were all so confused why Hipside Peddler had such amazing reviews, but it makes sense now that we know Alex bribes drunk girls to give fake, untrue reviews. A literal joke. I would love to be contacted in regards to my experience. read more

I loved that we were able to just walk in when they opened to grab our bikes. Within minutes, we were on our way. My boyfriend and I rented bikes to ride the Walnut Trail. Prices are really good and include a helmet and lock. The bikes are in great shape and the owner of the shop, Adam, has great recommendations on trails/routes if you're unfamiliar with the area. He was really kind, helpful, and meticulous when making sure our bikes for us perfectly! Can't wait until my parents come into town, so I can take them on a bike and brew tour. They also offer short term and longer term rentals.

She contacted Texas Bike Tours, and Deaton spent a lot of time working with her to create the perfect customized itinerary just for us. We rode about 8 miles and hit up all the best foodie spots, saw some of the most beautiful and historic parts of the city, and had an incredible time eating tacos at Vera Cruz and doughnuts at Gordoughs. The bikes we rented through Mellow Johnny's were great, we were provided with fresh baked granola bars, lemon water, helmets and bags for our stuff. The weather was perfect, and I can't say enough good things about our guide Katherine and Texas Bike Tours. She was incredibly knowledgable about the city, history, and architecture. She's also an excellent photographer! She snapped pictures along the way, and all the pictures are uploaded to Dropbox for us to use as we please. Upon our return, we were given hot towels to freshen up, and hugs (optional, but I like hugs). Whether you're visiting Austin, or you're a seasoned local, if you like being outdoors, you should check them out! Such a memorable afternoon and such fantastic customer service. They're passionate about what they do and it shows.

The absolute best experience and time EVER. I (unfortunately) moved away from Austin a few years ago but still love coming back to visit as much as possible. My last visit was my best visit because of Hipside Peddler. 1. I got to have ALL of my favorite Austinites in the same place, drinking, moving, interacting, socializing. This was so much better than doing a big group dinner where I can't catch up with multiple people. 2. It was AWESOME to see the East Side and how much has it has grown and changed since I've lived there!!! 3. All I had to do was show up and then have fun. All of the stress of my visit, planning, coordinating, etc., was taken care of by Hipside!!! I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in Austin but especially anybody visiting or returning that needs to see/have fun with lots of people in small amount of time. #RIDEHIPSIDE!!! read more

We were planning to use hipside peddler for my sisters bachelorette. I bought a non-refundable ticket (knowing that was risky due to COVID). When Texas shut down their bars for a second time I knew we would not be able to make our tour. I called Matt from hipside and chatted with him. While he couldn't offer a full refund, he gave me a store credit to use whenever I wanted. Or I could also sell the credit on Facebook marketplace. I don't even know where to begin -- this pedal tour was BEYOND AMAZING. It 100% made my (and my friends!) trip to Austin. We booked this for my bachelorette party and everyone said it was the highlight of their trip. We fell in love with Andre & Rachel instantly and tried to get them to hang out with us after. Andre ran our tour and bless his soul for dealing with us -- he was UNREAL. We could have stayed on that bike forever. From signing to our playlist to being able to belt it out with the microphone, we had the best time. Andre also took us to the best spots -- every bar was amazing. Hipside Peddler was amazing! We had a mixed group of locals and friends visiting from out of town and had the best time ever. Johnny was our driver and provided a great experience - super patient with our group and very accommodating. We mostly skipped over the bars because we were having such a fun time peddling around. The bike was very comfortable and had all the amenities you could want, including a great sound system, phone chargers, and a cooler with ice. Kristin was also super helpful getting our big group of 15 to complete the waiver process and explain the rules, route, etc. One of our most fun days in Austin - you will not regret this experience!! read more

We booked Hipside Peddler for a bachelorette group. It was so easy to book, they communicated with us right up to the hour before the ride so there was never any confusion regarding time/place/waivers/money, they were EXTREMELY friendly, and on top of a wonderful booking experience, we had a blast!!! Had a great time with Hipside Peddler for a bachelor party weekend. Alex was an awesome guide and took us to lesser known East Austin places over the course of the two-hour tour. Honestly, it flew by! There is a bench seat at the back for people that don't want to pedal but it was super easy and fun to participate. Be sure to bring canned beverages and a charged cell phone to play music! Highly recommended!! read more

We came here with a large group of girls for a bachelorette and had a great time!! They let you bring alcohol and provide a cooler, we stopped at some really cool bars and it was a great way to spend the afternoon. Alex was our driver and was the best!!! Had the coolest Fanny pack and we would have loved just to stay on the tavern than go into bars!! would highly recommend this to any group. read more

Super fun experience! We did the holly hangouts tour and kitty cohens bar was amazing!! If only it was a little warmer we could have dipped our feet into the pool they have in the patio area. This was the first pedal tour I had ever been on and MAN OH MAN they set the bar high!!! Andre and Rachel were so much fun and made sure my sister's bachelorette party was one to remember. Had a great time getting to tour the east side of my city! Music was fantastic and our guide made it a lot of fun! The peddler itself was extremely clean and modern. You get to burn a few calories while sipping on suds with good friends and get a tour. That is at least 3 birds with one stone! read more

Peddling is so much better on the East Side! The seats had backs on them, which made the ride comfortable and safe and there was KARAOKE! The owners are extremely friendly and fun to hang out with, and the bars visited had character and great drink prices. Highly Recommend! read more
