I was so looking forward to finally taking a tour of the city. I've been coming here visiting my…read moreson for the last dozen or so years and I've never done it. At first, I sat on the upper level. It was wonderful to be out in the fresh air. However, the sun was a little too much for me so I had to move down to the inside area. I was the only one down there which was fine, but it was really quite filthy. There was thick gray dust on the top rail of all the seats and the fabric on the seats themselves was all thick with black grease. The tour guide was really wonderful. Entertaining and knowledgeable with one exception that was actually kind of disturbing to me personally. When we got to South Congress he talked about the "I love you so much" wall. His story of a husband painting it for his wife could not have been more wrong. It was in fact done by an artist named Amy for her then girlfriend Liz an infamous Austin hotelier and restauranteur. It is an incredibly iconic part of Austin history and if it's told it should be not fiction. I hope for sure this can be corrected for future tours.

A few tips: - Don't forget your sunglasses and sunscreen if you plan to sit on the upper deck. -If you're tall, consider sitting on the left side of the upper deck to reduce the chance of getting hit in the head by low branches. -Bring cash in case you'd like to tip at the end (optional). -If you're hearing impaired, arrive early to increase your chances of getting a seat up front (on upper deck) closer to the guide. Despite being mic'd, there were times it was a bit challenging to hear. -If you get a single loop trip, you're better off staying on the bus the whole tour. If you get off at any of the stops, you won't be able to hop back on. Have an open mind and have fun!

Problem is, we were told to park in a certain parking lot, but the bus never arrived. We finally realized it was parked down the street around a corner. We weren't told they would be loading down there, and some people were not capable of walking that distance. A half hour after our supposed start time, after waiting in the Texas heat, the bus finally pulled up to the parking lot. We discovered a steep set of stairs to climb into the upper level, which was not disclosed ahead of time. Some ticket holders had to leave because they couldn't navigate the stairs. Overall, a great idea for a fun time. Better communication is necessary.

First, I want to address the customer service experience. The customer care line was extremely…read moredisappointing. During our first call, we were placed on hold for 20 minutes and had to hang up and call back to reach someone. We live an hour away from the tour location, and due to heavy lunch-hour traffic, I left two hours early to ensure we would arrive on time. When traffic became unusually congested, I called to ask about the grace period and was told it was only 10 minutes. In my experience, most tours offer at least 15 minutes. The representative I spoke with was dismissive and rude, despite the fact that I had spent over $600 for my birthday party group. This was also the only tour offered that day. I was told I "should have been 15 minutes early" and that waiting would cause the tour to run 30 minutes late. Fortunately, we arrived within the 10-minute grace period and the bus did wait. However, the interaction left a very negative impression before the tour even began. Unfortunately, the tour itself was underwhelming. The food was average at best. We were served only five of the six advertised teas, and several of them were not enjoyable. The lemonade was the only beverage that most of our group liked. There was no tour guide providing information about what we were seeing around Austin, no music, and no structured entertainment. To make matters worse, the sound system was broken. We essentially had to create our own fun. For the price paid, I expected a much more engaging and organized experience. The bus was extremely hot, and guests were seated only on the top level while the downstairs space was not utilized. We were uncomfortable and sweating for much of the ride. The bus also had a concerning moment where it nearly hit a car and a pedestrian. Additionally, the restroom conditions were poor, and there was no running water available -- only hand sanitizer. That was very disappointing for a premium-priced experience. I do want to highlight one positive: Natalie was wonderful. She was upbeat, kind, and did her best to create a fun atmosphere with what she had to work with. The photo opportunities were also nice. Overall, for the price point, I would not recommend this experience. I chose this tour to celebrate my birthday, and I left feeling disappointed. Based on what I had heard about the Dallas and Houston tours, I expected a much higher-quality experience. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve future tours.

Our tour guide was really nice and friendly. Our group consisted of just the three of us so it was essentially a private tour. We got some history and insights of the city, a nice comfortable ride, and were able to get out and stretch our legs. If you prefer a more traditional tour, this is an excellent option.

The reservation before us was late and instead of cutting into their time, it pushed our reservation back. Originally we were told we were only going to get pushed back a half an hour and then when we got to the pick up spot at 2:30 we were contacted and told it would be closer to 3:00 and then a little bit after 3 o'clock we were told the bus was on its way, but were not given a timeframe. The bus pulled up about 3:30 but the bus driver had to clean up and restock and give us the rundown of how the afternoon would work and we didn't leave until closer to 4:00. Tour itself was fun; open air bus, music, sightseeing. We were only on the bus for an hour and a half instead of what should've been a two hour excursion. Once we were off the tour, we contacted the company to ask what they could do for us for the time inconvenience (late and shortened tour); either refund some of the cost or they to pay the mandatory tip to the driver instead of us coming out of pocket more. WHILE WE WERE STILL STANDING ON THE SIDEWALK NEXT TO THE BUS the company calls the driver and tells her we weren't impressed with her service and that we weren't tipping her. When she asked us about it we told her the truth about the phone call and how we asked for the company to either refund us some of the cost or have them pay her tip for the inconvenience. We've been home for a week and the company has failed to contact us back. Horrible business management. Book a tour at your own risk.

The shiny articuno day was 29 raids in a 3 hour period and it was awesome! I love the team leads and the sit and relax vibe you as the traveler gets to participate in. Also, you get snacks, drinks, beer (for the adults) and Jell-O shots sometimes too! It's very austiny and the one day we did our jammed packed raiding, we got offered free burgers off the East side! Phil does a great job keeping adults and kids all playing the game motivated and everyone works towards being inclusive. Such a great thing to get in on and just play without much hassle!
