Jordan and Robbie were our guides and were the absolute best! They catered to not just our group of 11, but to a bus full of ppl. Jordan went above and beyond by guiding us through rapids and pushing us out of sticky spots. Robbie brought it with the great vibes and energy. Def recommend. 10/10

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great for tube noobs. One of the things that we knew we HAD to do while in Austin was go for a tube river float. Since we were totally unfamiliar with the rivers and launch areas, we decided to go with a guide to make things easy for ourselves. After perusing the many different outfits around town, these guys seemed like the ones with the highest marks. I made the reservations online while still in CA and everything was in order when we showed up on float day. As other reviews have mentioned, you can bring all the alcohol and snacks you want--they will stow it in their cooler bags and everything will float down with you. After getting checked in, we boarded the bus and were soon off to the San Marcos river. Since it was a midweek float and therefore not as crowded, there was only one guide who floated down with us. His name was Green and he made sure we had a great time. Most of the float was very chill and relaxing, which was just the way we wanted it. If you want more of a raucous party scene, save it up for the weekend. It was a beautiful, hot day--perfect for a float. I did make the mistake of not reapplying suncreen well on my legs and they got roasted pretty good. Other than that, it was the perfect float and I'd love to do it again!

Awesome retreat from Austin! Short drive from our AirBnB in Mueller to the meet-up point for the bus. Directions were easy to follow, and the area convenient--there's a convenience store where you can get snacks/drinks for the river and bus trip. The views from the river are beautiful. Sean was a knowledgable and FUN guide. Jamie was so friendly and informative at check-in and when we arrived at the river to get our tubes and making sure we always knew where to go. Tips: Coolers with ice are provided so bring enough drinks and snacks for the 5ish hours round trip you'll be away. Remember to pack your sunscreen and reapply often (keep it in your cooler). Leave your phone at home and unplug for the afternoon--Sean graciously took pictures and emailed a link to download. They sell some water-proof items at the meet-up spot (coozies, sunglasses, hats, straps, and even flip flops). Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a fun day-time excursion from Austin.

Website was easy to navigate, prompt communication via email. Our driver was early, but patient! He allowed us to connect our phones to the speaker so that we could control the speaker for music. He stopped at a convenience store so that we could get snacks and he was easily reachable via text while we were on the river. Totally recommend! Kuddos to our driver, Andrew!

We booked ATXcursions for a river float trip in Austin and we had a great time. I've done multiple river float trips in different cities and this was the most organized which made our group feel safer. But we also got to drink whatever we wanted and they packed all of our coolers for us--beers, liquor, Seltzers, snacks--they loaded all of it! Addie and Robby were the best guides!

Tubing down the river was by far my favorite part of visiting Austin. They allow you to bring your own food and drinks. Pick up and drop off and the beginning/end of the river. They have your guides to make sure you stay with the group you came with. It's very easy to lose your friends on the river, so stay close to each other! School bus ride on the way back after 3 hours of drinking and being in the sun was a little rough, but I've never been a fan of the suspensions on school buses. Waiting for summer to go back to Austin to do this again!

Our friends came out to visit and my wife and I really wanted to do a river float experience. We went out on a Friday morning and they took us to the San Marcos river. It was an absolute blast! The hosts were funny, friendly and very helpful. All we needed to bring was the beer and they supplied the rest. Tubes, coolers, ice, sun lotion and a bus ride to and from. MAKE SURE YOU BRING WATER AND SNACKS! We left at 1030am and got back around 5pm so be ready for a full day. We will definitely be going with ATXcursions again!!

View from the tube on the river (they sell dry bags so you can bring phones and such with it and keep them safe!).

Booked this float for a party of 6 leaving at 10am, and was not disappointed! At first I thought it was a little pricey, but it was definitely worth it. They drop everyone off in a school bus so you can float down the river with no worries getting back! They provide pretty much everything you can imagine except food and drink. They had coolers with ice for your drinks, inner tubes for you, and tubes with a bottom for all your stuff! They even had sunscreen at the beginning in case you forgot some. The staff was wonderful and I would definitely go again.

    Ask the Community - ATXcursions

Hey I'm just wondering do you come dressed in your swim suit or can you store your clothes and stuff in the bus while you float? Silly Q

So you can ride the bus in your clothes with your swimsuit on beneath, and then take them off when you get there! You take the same bus back, so you can leave stuff on there. You can also bring or purchase a dry bag and take it with you!

Do we share the cooler with everyone or just the people in our group? ie.(group of 6 gets 1 cooler, another group gets their own)or 20+ people sharing 1 cooler

one per group, though I'm sure you can get more for large groups I grabbed one for just me and my girlfriend!

Can you participate if you can't swim or do they provide a life vest?

Yes, you can participate if you can't swim! if you're over 5' tall, you'll be able to stand for the majority the float tour (answer based on floating in San Marcos River). However, they do offer life vest as well for those who feel more comfortable… Read more

Our party was 20+ and did the East Side Ride and were very pleased with the tour. Pros: Very responsive, professional, drivers Alex and Max were great and fun Cons: Nothing really outside of one of the bikes having an issue, but we still did our tour and had a blast. Highly recommend the Eastside Ride because all 3 places we went to were excellent. Central Machine Works- Make sure you don't bring in any outside drinks or food. The drinks were great but they had an amazing vegetarian pizza that was delicious Lustre Pearl Rainey- This was the second place we went and we had some appetizers and drinks. Unfortunately, we were there for a short time and wish we could have stayed longer because the bartender working there was awesome Last place I don't remember the name and the food was great, but the service was iffy. Overall it was a great tour, but I think we didn't get enough time at the last 2 places because it felt rushed. We ended up having the tour leave us at the last place because we wanted to enjoy it. Going to give them 5 stars even though I felt it's probably more closer to a 4, but the tour guides were awesome and they helped make the decision easier

We booked the "Eastside tour" w/ Hipside Peddler on Saturday, 11/14/2020 to celebrate my friends 40th birthday & we had so much FUN! This was my 1st time so I had no idea what to expect but I can say that I am so glad that we were able to safely celebrate my friend's milestone birthday during this time of pandemic craziness. Since sharing is caring here are a few of my "Helpful Tips", "FYIs", & "Likes"... FYI: *You will be peddling the same way you would if riding a bike so be mindful of your foot wear & you will be getting a mini workout while peddling. *There are mini fans above each seat that you can turn on, if needed. *The peddle boat driver does have a plexiglass barrier between him & the passengers as a COVID safety precaution & the peddle boat itself is all open w/out any walls. *You can tip your peddling boat driver in cash & via Venmo. *The "Eastside" tour is 2 hours long & we made 3 separate stops at different local bars for 15-20 mins each so you can use the restroom, cool off, take a few pictures w/ your peeps and/or buy a drink while relaxing at each bar. Our awesome peddle boat driver was Matt & he also made a 4th stop at an Italian ice truck. *Each passenger must submit a liability waiver & you can do it electronically. Once your tour has been booked, you will get the waiver emailed to you. Helpful Tip(s): *BEVERAGES~I recommend that you bring your own ice chest already filled w/ ice & beverages (no glass containers are allowed) & there is an open area in the middle of the peddle boat for ice chest storage. *FOOD~only snacks are allowed & I suggest you bring snacks that are easy to munch on since you will be peddling while eating them. ( ex: mini bags of pretzels, individually wrapped cookies) *MUSIC~The peddle boat does have a stereo system that is very loud & has a usb that you can connect your phone to for music. I highly recommend that you create a music playlist of songs that help set the vibe that you're going for. I made a playlist using Spotify of all the songs I wanted to play. Lastly, I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Matt, who was our p.d driver because he really did a GREAT job of explaining "all things peddle boat" :) & putting us at ease so we could fully enjoy ourselves. This was so appreciated because each of us were newbie peddle boat passengers. Stay AWESOME Hipside Peddler & for sure I'll be seeing you again very soon! ~Rebecca out

Kenneth was a great tour guide, giving us information about each of the breweries we went to. He also sat with us at each location and it was cool getting to know him. Apparently it's become a tradition that we do a brewery tour when we travel…read more One of the breweries I was told I MUST visit, while in Austin, was Jester King. Searched online for brewery tours that included this and finally decided on Austin Brewery Tours. Almost daily tours, online booking was so easy, and we got a reminder, a couple of days earlier to our tour, via email. Tour starts at noon. Meetup time was 11:30am. At around 11:25am the van was there. Out comes Shane, owner and tour guide. He immediately introduced himself, thanked us for being on time and proceeded to ask us our names and where we were from. Once the other people taking the tour arrived, we were all introduced and in the van we went. During the time we were driving, he would ask us questions to get to know us better, and see the style of beers we liked. He also gave us an intro of each of the breweries we would visit. He made the time driving pass by fast and welcomed all questions we could have. At each of the breweries, he explained the process and what we had included in the price of the tour. At Jester King, they even had a special release and he bought a sample of each (which was not included in the price but he gifted us with it) making sure we had the complete experience. You can tell he enjoys doing these tours and meeting the people. He even took us to Revolution - which was in front of one of the breweries we visited - to try locally made flavored gin. So greateful he allowed us to do this quick stop - this was delicious, and gave me the opportunity to talk more with one of the ladies on the tour, exchanging ideas on recipes with the gin we had just tried. Shane is grate at incorporating everyone in the tour and conversations. He allows you plenty of time to enjoy each brewery and every beer you choose. He is now friends with the staff at each of these breweries, which works on the advantage of everyone in the tour since we got excellent/ friendly service at each stop. Best part of this all, is you meet new people, get to enjoy all the beer you can drink, and don't have to drive. Great way to spend a day in Austin. If looking for a beer tour, look no further, this is it!
