I recently went on the Belize trip and am so happy that I went and that I chose Under30Experiences! Booking a group trip to a new country as a solo traveller was a scary leap to make, but the experience was so worth it. Firstly, our guide, Leo, was absolutely amazing -- at his job but also as a human. He made sure that we were informed, safe, comfortable, and having fun every step of the way. Belize would not have been the same without him! The whole trip just felt easy. It was so nice turning my brain off and not having to worry about transportation, timing, restaurant reservations, or carrying our inner tubes while cave tubing -- Leo took care of everything and we felt like VIPs everywhere we went. My only wish was that we had an extra night in the jungle to experience more of that part of the country, since we took the time to go there. However, Caye Caulker is possibly my favourite place I've ever been, so I wouldn't have wanted to sacrifice any time there. Belize is a beautiful country and I'm so glad I chose to travel there. I will be back for sure -- and will be booking other trips with U30X in the future! read more

I love U30X! I went on their 5day/4 night Costa Rica trip and spent the whole trip eating great food, seeing all of the wildlife, listening to good stories, laughing, and dancing! The trip was the perfect balance of activity and free time, our guide was (still is) the best guide ever, and everyone was super helpful and friendly. I have travelled solo before but not with a group of solo travelers and I will definitely be doing it again in the future. I felt that the accommodations, the food, the activities, the friends and memories are worth wayy more than the actual price of the trip. The U30X trip to South Africa was simply incredible. I signed up for it kind of blind, never having travelled alone internationally before. I ended up with an experience of a lifetime, not once missing peace of mind while being 14000 km from home. The itinerary was a perfect mix of fun, relaxing, challenging, impactful, and educational. The village experience was very unique and not to be missed. There might be possible tweaks to benefit the schedule depending on season (for example, a full day in the village when the temperature pushes 40 might not be as great as it was in April). But every part of it was valuable. Finally, I couldn't have asked for a better, more welcoming group to go with, especially our passionate and knowledgeable guide. To describe how he elevated this trip would require a novel, not a yelp review. (Not to mention every other guide/staff member I interacted with everywhere). I'm beyond grateful to have experienced South Africa this way and will really miss this country till next time. read more

The accommodations are clean and basic, and the tours are authentic. If you're someone who is not ok with roughing it on some level, this tour group may not be for you, but if you're someone who values travel and adventure over fancy accommodations, you will be happy you booked a trip with this group. The Costa Rica extended trip exceeded my expectations, and Ray was THE best tour guide I have ever had. Rey shared his stories and his love for his country with me. While eating delicious and organic food, I formed a bond of friendship with my traveling group. We hiked, zip-lined, crossed suspension bridges, and did many other activities in the Costa Rica forest. Despite being strangers, we came together and supported each other. Found this tour group through Google and booked a 5 day Costa Rica trip on Black Friday for $600. Had to book airfare separately but this cost included most meals and activities. We stayed at a lovely hotel on the beach in the Manuel Antonio area. Our tour guide Edgardo was absolutely fantastic in every way. Group size was 16 and ages spanned from 23 to 33. My first U30X trip was to Ireland in March, and I was initially skeptical as someone who prefers to plan every aspect of a trip and has traveled to Ireland several times before. As soon as we met our tour guide, Tom, any doubts I had vanished. Tom and our bus driver Paddy were absolute delights, with excellent commentary (both historical and candid) and a top notch attitude from sunset to midnight (yes, midnight, Tom hung out with us at pubs nearly every night!) We ate extremely well at local, long time beloved spots in every town we visited. I was shocked by the variety of options and cuisines - I think we only had traditional pub food twice the entire week. The lodgings at local b&b homes were fantastic (my experience at Adare Guest House in Galway was one of the best b&b lodgings I've ever had!) The itinerary was excellent for a "beginner's trip" to Ireland, and Tom asked Paddy to make slight detours at times that were absolutely worth it. Spending Paddy's Day in Galway was a once in a lifetime experience, and I'm so glad U30X doesn't bring you into the craziness of Dublin on the 17th. I only wish the trip was a couple days longer so we could have spent time in one more city - and more time with Tom and Paddy! Can't recommend U30X or the Ireland trip enough. A little bit late posting this review, but better late than never. February 2019 I had the time of my life exploring Thailand with U30X. Rebecca was the best tour guide our group could have had. She also mentioned that we were one of her best groups she has had. Perfect match. Love that they don't force you to do things, that they give you the option to hang back if you'd rather do something else. I will say, we did allot of group activities that were included and we had to pay for ourselves. Didn't mind, but just be aware that there will be some things that aren't apart of the actual tour, but since everyone is doing it, feels like it. I did not want to leave Thailand, I actually cried. I would give Under30Experiences more than 5 stars out of 5 if I could. I recently went on the Thailand trip, and now a few weeks later, I still cannot really put to words just how great this experience was. I was nervous to travel alone with a group of strangers, as I have been on group trips before with other companies where the people did not mesh well and it carried through every aspect of the trip. Since the Thailand itinerary was spot on what I was looking for in a trip to Thailand, I decided to give group travel another shot. Everything about this trip was perfectly planned. The order of activities, the transportation, the meals, the built in break times....our guides even knew the spots to stop and take our individual photos to get the best back drops. Having a guide who spoke the local language added yet another element of simplicity to the trip (want to see if a vendor has pants in your size at a local market or request a certain spice level to your dish? she had you covered!). From arrival at the airport to being dropped off at the airport for my return flight home, everything was seamless. My biggest concerns during the trip were if I should use my free time to get [another] massage, or opt in for one of the awesome suggested activities...what a great problem to have. The trip was a perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, physical activity, and history. I usually enjoy planning my own travel and figuring out logistics, but Under30Experiences really changed my mind about how I travel. And the people -- the people on my trip, both the guides and the other travelers -- really made this trip. I mentioned earlier in the review I was worried the group would not mesh well; I could not have asked for a better group of people to share this experience with. Whether other travelers came alone or with a friend, everybody was equally enthusiastic, friendly, and inclusive. Our guides were phenomenal and really made sure the experience was what each one of us wanted to be. Sharing the experience with such awesome people really made each activity that much better. This was an astounding experience! I went to Belize with Under30, I chose a trip that would help me face some fears, and I'm so proud of myself for doing that, I had someone in the group that was also facing her own fear, and we really helped each other get through it! I went on the 5 day/ 4 night trip to Costa Rica and somehow got the most amazing group of people I've ever had the pleasure of spending time with. Just this concept to travel solo with a group of your peers is so amazing and I can't wait to book more trips. We got to explore the national park, zipline, rappel down waterfalls, go sailing on a catamaran, visit a local community and make delicious empanadas. Each day was full of activities and wonderful memories I get to cherish for the rest of my life. And I can't even get started on our tour guide Rey, I swear Under 30 is so lucky to have someone as knowledgeable, fun and kind as Rey. Rey had everything taken care of, from extra taxis to more activities to finding tables everywhere for 15! He was fun and organized and always answered our questions or gave recommendations wherever needed. I've taken a number of trips with Under30Experiences -- to Costa Rica, Italy, France, Spain, and Greece -- and I've loved them all. The trip leaders (I'm looking at you, Angelo, Becca, and Archelaos!) are excellent humans who are passionate about the places we visit and take care to foster a strong group dynamic, adhere to sustainable practices where possible, and who share a wealth of knowledge with their travelers. I've met people who I continue to travel with and who I count among my closest friends on these trips, I've pushed myself outside my comfort zone and barreled through my fear of heights with the support of fellow travelers, eaten some of the most incredible food, and built a confidence that carries forward into my own solo travels. I recently got back from the Starter Costa Rica trip with U30X and had an incredible time! Between exploring Manuel Antonio National Park, zip-lining through the rainforest, catching waves and doing yoga at Playa Espadilla Beach, eating delicious and nutritious food, salsa dancing, and enjoying the scenery and wildlife in this Central American country, it gave me just the adventure I was craving. The trip was packed with adventures, but if you weren't up for any of them, you could hang back and do your own thing. I felt blessed to have met such a down-to-Earth group (14 people) of strangers from different backgrounds who all had one thing in common: to get out of the norm and explore, because life's too short to stay in one place in the world. My first Under30experiences trip to Costa Rica Starter was an experience I'll never forget. It was simply amazing with our guide, Yoza, who was welcoming, passionate, punctual yet flexible and communicative. The trip was well organized, with just the right amount of downtime. I felt safe and had so much fun from hiking, exploring various waterfalls, immersing ourselves in culture by cooking alongside locals, learning salsa dancing and having the options to surf and go canyoning are amongst some of the most memorable activities I've encountered. So far I have been on two Under30 trips (Greece and Costa Rica), and I have loved both of them! I can't recommend this company enough - as someone who used to frequently travel solo, it has been amazing to have such great groups to travel with, as well as a community to get travel advice from. I have had so many experiences that I would not have had traveling alone and have made friends across the country. Both guides that I have had (Archelaos and Reynier) were extremely knowledgeable and fun. I did the New Zealand trip in December 2023. I probably won't do another group tour again, and I wouldn't recommend this trip from Under30Experiences. Some background about me for context: I'm a very comfortable solo traveler, and this was my first time doing a group tour. I sandwiched this tour with solo travel on either side. I chose to a group trip for two reasons: 1) to give myself a break from having to plan/drive/research/choose activities, and 2) the chance to make some friends and do activities as a group. The short is that this tour did not meet my expectations for either of my reasons for booking. 1) Not having to plan or choose activities - I had to plan a lot of my own time. The bulk of the time on this tour was free time for optional activities, most of which were very expensive. Our guide suggested activities for us for us, but it was often an overwhelming list of adventure activities that weren't particularly tailored to our interests. I found myself scrambling in the evenings to do research for the next day instead of having had time to plan before the trip. Some activities our guide was able to book for us, but other activities we had to book for ourselves. Transport was not always provided to the activities, meaning we had to walk, get a taxi, or hitchhike back to the accommodations. Rather than feeling like I had the benefit of a person looking out for me, I felt inconvenienced by not having my own car and having to fit activities in around group travel and meal times. Side note: If you're planning to do this trip - you need to be aware that you shout budget an additional $200-800 more for "optional extra" activities. This tour does not have enough included activities to feel like you've had full days. There are some free activities (e.g. hiking, swimming) in the places you stay, but generally there aren't a lot of low-cost options. Most of the options you're offered are high adventure excursions that cost US$150-400 each. 2) Making friends - I realize that group social dynamics are always a roll of the dice. However, the structure of this trip didn't do anything to help foster social bonds. We didn't see our guide very much during the tour. Since so much of time was so much about doing our own activities, the group typically split off in the morning and mostly didn't meet up again until dinner. Instead of feeling like I was with a group of new friends, I felt like I was with a group of people who happened to be on the share a bus. There was also a lot of drinking on this tour - not "lets go to a fun bar" kind of drinking, but "lets get really sloshed on grocery store liquor before dinner" kind of drinking, which was alienating for the folks who weren't big drinkers. I didn't feel like I received any benefit from being on a group tour - I formed closer relationships with other travelers and tour guides I met in my activities outside of the tour. I don't want to be too harsh on this trip, because it did provide other services well. The mini bus was very comfortable, and the pace of travel was good (lots of scenic stops and good instructions about when to buy snacks). The accommodations were generally well chosen. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, although it took until toward the end of the trip to form that bond. The itinerary took us to some beautiful spots! This could be a good trip for someone who really, really doesn't want to drive themselves, or is a nervous first time traveler. However, New Zealand is am exceptionally easy place to travel (good roads, low crime, ubiquitous English, tourist infrastructure, etc. etc.) so I don't think this would apply to many people. This trip was not a good value. New Zealand is a more expensive place to travel than other U30X destinations, but I can compare what I spent on this trip to my solo travel. I paid about $3200 for this trip (excluding airfare). Broken down, this tour is about $350/day before the non-included meals and optional activities. On my week of solo travel in the South Island afterward (in a rental car), I paid about $220 a day, including all my food and activities. On my own, I stayed in AirBnBs and solo hostel rooms, but I feel like that was similar comfort level to shared-occupancy hotel rooms. There was nothing I got on this tour that I couldn't have booked on my own - our group excursions were in sessions with other travelers who weren't on tours, or were publicly accessible activities like hikes or trains. There was no "exclusive access" to anything that this tour provided, or apparently any discounts or perks for being part of a group. Bottom line: This trip did not meet my expectations. I wouldn't recommend it for people traveling to New Zealand. You can get much better value and convenience by getting a car and booking things yourself. This tour wasn't a disaster, but it didn't add anything to my trip, and I paid too much for it. read more

For me, it was life changing as it allowed me to connect with others, nature and most importantly myself in ways that I hadn't and couldn't before. This was my second trip as a "tourist" however I did not feel like one I felt like a friend visiting another friend who happened to live in Costa Rica. Well. It happened again. I just got back from Hiking the Inca trail with Ruty, and it was AMAZING. If you want to really learn about the Peruvian culture from a local, challenge yourself, go camping with a 5 star chef, and end up at Machu Picchu, go on this trip. There is no better way. My ONLY grievance with Under 30 is its brand name, as i just turned 30. So if you are 30 or over, still go. You will thank me later. read more
