In my opinion this is a top notch catering company! If you want creative, palette pleasing cuisine call them! I am going to review this from a venue standpoint and from a I have tasted their food standpoint! They catered an event at the club and they were super respectful of our space. We normally do not allow people to use our conference room to cook because of the carpet damage that can be caused. However, I trusted Meg and she promised me that they have done this before in super expensive high end environments without an issue. They did not leave a trace of them being here! Meg even strapped the rocket looking vaccum to her back and took off without it threw the entire office! They took the time to roll plastic over the carpet under the work spaces and you could tell they really have a passion for the food that they put in guests mouths! Down to tiny tomato details on the mushrooms. The theme was a 50's theme so they served up time period favorites like mini burgers, stuffed mushrooms, mini milkshakes, deviled eggs and the most decadent little tartlets for dessert! I mean really the tartlets rolled my eyes back in my head on the first bite! These ladies nailed their creative artisan menu and served everything with a smile! I am glad that they catered the events, I got to meet them and that their food was so delicious! Her customer service with the clients from start to finish was brilliant and with the venue, I was blown away. She even let me know that if I found any stains on the carpet within the next few days to let me know and that she would come out and have it taken care of herself!!!! I can't believe I waited this long to write this review, because the food was to die for! Meg catered my daughter's wedding at Springdale Farm on April 26. My daughter's choice of food was a "family style" BBQ, with many, many, many different and delicious offerings. I honestly don't know how Meg managed to feed over 100 people piping hot, not overcooked, perfectly seasoned dishes! We have been very fortunate to have numerous occasions to indulge in Spoon & Co catering (from office catering to cocktail and engagement parties and more). Their food genre covers the gambit and it is always delicious. In addition, Meg and her team catered our night before wedding party at TFWC mansion. She handled absolutely everything and all we had to do was show up and spend time with our family and friends. Of course, she spent time with us beforehand planning the menu, alcohol and drinks and decor set up details. If you don't know what you want, she can help you figure it out and if you do, she fine tunes it for you. Our night turned out beautifully just as expected. She also has a great team (bartenders, etc) We got tons and tons of compliments on the food. It was unique combined with Austin flair for our out of town guests and very special. Plus the presentation was also spot on. Spoon & Co is very versatile too and really makes you feel valued even with the existing strength of their repeat client list. Meg is super professional, talented, creative and has a heart of gold. She loves what she does and it shows! One last thing...they plan perfectly for the number of guests...I have been to too many events and parties where the food runs out which then overshadows the rest no matter how beautiful everything else is. Meg at Spoon & Co. catered our Thanksgiving meal for 49 people. Not a person left hungry and everyone raved about the food. We had more than enough, and plenty for leftovers the following days! I don't usually push my recommendations on people, but I cannot stop telling everyone I know to hire Spoon & Co. Long story short, delicious food served by people who go the extra mile to ensure perfection. Service/Planning/Pricing: Amazing. Meg was head and shoulders above the competition in terms of responsiveness and flexibility. She worked with us to adjust our menu several times, graciously accommodating our requests and providing great suggestions where we needed them. Even helped us plan how to stock our bar since we were buying our own booze! Pricing was reasonable and (importantly) really clear and itemized. BONUS: Meg is so friendly and awesome, she knew the people running our venue and smoothed out a few potential issues on our first visit to the site. Food: Delicious. Who gets compliments about the food at their wedding? No one EXCEPT ME! Months later, we still get rave reviews. We had family style BBQ with mac n cheese, cornbread, slaw...every single dish had that little something extra that makes it awesome. BONUS: the staff packed up every bit of leftovers and sent them home with us. It was enough to feed a whole 15 people who showed up at our house the following day! Day-of Service: On point. Food was hot and served super quick so everyone could eat at once. Servers were friendly and helpful. They took care of EVERYTHING: coordinated with the rental company, set up all the rentals (including chairs for the ceremony), lit our candles...nothing was forgotten and I was so grateful to know Meg was in our corner so we could enjoy our wedding. Meg has catered quite a variety of events for my company including private dinners, a memorial, working lunches, and large scale receptions. She treats each event as its own and makes customizations based on the space, season and guest list. I have never met a caterer so committed to fulfilling my needs while working with my budget. The food is consistently excellent and she has accommodated a variety of dietary restrictions. She and her staff also work professionally, yet elevate the energy and excitement. The word has gotten out and I cannot be happier for her success - even though it means I have to get on her schedule early. I can't say enough about Spoon and Co. Meg and her wonderful group of help catered my wedding for 35 people day before yesterday, and it was divine. The food was so fresh, fun and flavorful. It was the hit of the wedding. From the very beginning on the phone, Meg was relaxed and open. I only had a vague idea what I wanted and a very strict budget, and Meg's creative and bountiful ideas were spot on. She does relaxed, easy, and just plain scrumptuous food. The two sample menus she put together combined our love of italian food with the reality of an outdoor wedding, and Meg's own unique twist on getting food to taste its very best. I really let her run with the menu after taking elements of both, but also taking into account vegetarians and nut allergies. She also agreed to do our cake. After contracting her, she come by to survey our space and talk details, many of which made my life much more fun and easy on the wedding day. Her communication through the process was professional and prompt. Saturday, Meg arrived with her crew of energetic, warm staff, along with the most amazing smells. The appetizers had people running after the waitstaff. I think I saw my Mom grab three shrimp skewers at a time. I had provided my own wine, but her bar person served so seemlessly that there was a gentle, easy flow to the entire night. After throwing a wrench into mix by asked Meg to serve the buffet outside versus inside ( which she just rolled with), she laid out the offerings. Tender sirloin topped with huge flakes of parmesan cheese, basil leaves, and olive oil. Chicken Marabella topped with olives, capers and prunes ( don't laugh it was truly amazing- so glad there are left overs) was a hit especially with the kids. The veg selection was a vegetable tian ( which is like a veg lasagna), red quinoa salad with roasted squash, and the most lushious salad. Did I mention there was a ton of food? Some of which I am freezing, so we can experience the food again and again. My husband had asked for yellow cake and chocolate icing ( He is a duncan hines boy from way back). Meg gave us a two tiered delight, covered in fresh flowers, but her take was buttery yellow cake and the lightest most amazing chocolate icing that left traces of cinnamon and cocoa on your tongue. Then ( because that just wasn't enough food joy) we got homemade gellato; mixed berry, raspberry, and pineapple to top it all off and cool down. Our party continued, and despite my nieces and nephews getting very much in their way, they cleaned and packed up flawlessly. I'm not sure I can express how much Meg contributed to the wedding being everything ( fun, relaxed, tasty) that I wanted. Just WOW. I attended a retreat recently that Meg catered and I was completely blown away by her menu. The food was phenomenal. If you have an opportunity to hire her for your event, DO IT!
