Oh how I spent Saint Patty's 2016! Wonderful place, tastefully decorated. The staff was friendly and attentive. Bathrooms are cleaned. Bar wasn't overly packed or uncomfortable. This is a miracle since St Patty usually a crazy all day bar crawl. There was free corned beef and cabbage. Also, a nice box of giveaways. Oh, wow! A good find. Went for trivia on Thursday night. It's very hard to find a good trivia in Brooklyn on a Thursday. Advertised to start at 8:30pm. Things didn't get rolling until 9pm. There was leftover food from a party they were good enough to let us have dibs to. For whatever reason Red Bull Vodkas were free that night. I appreciated the fact there was an option for the people coming from New Jersey. The trivia was very fun. Not too hard. Free shots at random points for reasons I can't remember (oops). Winner gets $40 bar tab to use next time. $5 Brooklyn Lager and Brooklyn IPA. The bartender was very friendly, and allowed us to have a good time (which, to be honest, we were having a VERY, VERY good time with our dancing and whatnot). Plenty of seating for all. I had been eyeing this bar for quite some time and stopped in on a slow Thursday night which just so happened to be holding a TRIVIA NIGHT. The bar is a scotch bar so they had a decent assortment of scotch and some other whiskeys and a good selection of draught beer. We ended up not winning but were pleasantly surprised at the selection of alcohol, assortment of lounge chairs, tables and stool and even had a go at their pool table. Came to this bar around midnight and 1am. I walked in and had to step over chicken bones and napkins spread out throughout the entire floor. The drinks were watered down and tasteless. We asked for two Long Island ice teas and they both tasted like flat soda. We even asked another bartender to mix a simple vodka and cranberry and even that didn't taste right. The Craic is my favorite spot in Williamsburg. I come here at least once a week with my group of friends. The crowd is usually a great range of people with a lot of locals. The music is always really good. Either played by the bartenders or the juke box. Every Sunday and Tuesday they have a live band. The music is never too loud and there's plenty of tables and couches if you can't get a seat at the bar. You can also bring your own food or get it delivered which is clutch. The staff is AMAZING. Ben the bartender is the friendliest person I've ever met. Makes everyone feel like his best friend and is so hospitable. (And he's easy on the eyes) If you need help picking a drink everyone is always helpful. Basically if you're looking for a fun bar with quick service and a friendly staff this is the place to be. read more

You don't fee like you're walking into a Scottish pub at all because usually I walk in and walk right out because the decor is awful and the people are even worse. Probably one of the best whiskey lists in NYC. The only other place I have discovered with a similar whiskey list ended up being owned by the same guy. The jukebox is an easy way to spend a quick $20 on good music. One down side is that the bathrooms always seem to be on the gross side for a female (they are very dark) and the sink was missing a handle. Oh, and cell phone service is terrible down stairs. I was invited to one of the Isle's now-famous whisky tastings just around the bar's commencement. Months later, I find myself visiting at least once per week. I'm not exactly sure what the gents are doing right there...but something really, really special has to take place to draw in a spontaneous barhopper like myself. Maybe it's the incredibly diverse spread of drink options curated and managed by an extremely knowledgable staff -- one that has taken my perspective on whisky from indifferent/unenthused to a true fan. On top of that, the clientele is one that naturally aligns with this sort of establishment: men and their dates will prop up on a few barstools or canoodle on a couch. Smaller parties will rally around one of the standing tables. Locals will simply come to chat up one of the personable bartenders. It has all the makings of a friendly neighborhood bar without the standard-issue PBR (not hatin', just observin'). The only aside I'll note here, and it's minor: the food menu is about as basic as it gets, so if you're coming to have a hearty meal alongside your Chivas Regal, don't expect much. Their Shepherd's Pie satiates me every time, though. In short, Isle of Skye has won over my heart, to the point where it's now become my staple bar when friends are in town. read more

I had an event here for about 16 colleagues after a LONG day of meetings. We did a two-flight tasting and they were kind enough to have one of their whisky reps, Nicola come and host the event. She was awesome and super knowledgable. Everyone had a really really great time and felt very well taken care of. Adam was behind the bar and even though he was super busy he made sure to check in with me to see that everyone was okay. No one, including the rest of the bar waited for a drink. If my tip ceilings weren't restricted I would have tipped him double! Scott who helped me put it all together was awesome, super flexible and easy to work with. He even checked in with me the next day to make sure we were happy. Can't say enough about this place and when I'm in Brooklyn again for business or on my own - I'll be back! read more

Isle of Skye is my go-to neighborhood bar. Super friendly people, great drinks, good happy hour and yummy bar food. The scotch selection is extensive but not intimidating since the staff is always helpful and laid back. Been one of my favorite places for years. Always friendly, unpretentious staff and management that's frequently around and strives to make people feel welcome. Liked it even before the renovation, but now it's beautiful in addition to being a great whiskey bar. Great for really any mood-- I've taken groups here, dates to play pool or, my go-to-- just reading at the bar or in one of the armchairs during happy hour. I also happen to be pretty down with the music they play, which, unlike many other places in the area, isn't at a volume that's overtly hostile to the concept of having a conversation or meeting someone. Omg! This place is so awesome. I came here with my husband on a Thursday night. The ambiance is Brooklyn-cool without the pretentiousness. We split a Thai chicken pie which was delicious but and much better than the average bar food. I have to say the best part of our visit was our awesome bartender Cliff. He was so much fun and made really excellent drinks. Cliff gave us a sneak peak of the new cocktail menu. We both had the summer sangria and it was so refreshing and delicious. I wanted to find a relaxed spot for my husband's birthday and found it at Isle of Skye. Scott, the bartender and manager agreed to reserve 2 couches and a table for my party of 20 people, all with no fuss and a genuine doss of Scottish hospitality. The night went splendidly, everyone had a good time and had nice things to say about the spot. Spacious, comfortable, with great drinks ( huge assortment of Scotch- a must try, some beers, wines, cocktails, something for everyone.) Most importantly, the vibe was right. It had a definitively more chilled-out vibe then some other bars on Bedford Avenue, and was wholly unpretentious. It attracts a crowd that comes to catch up with friends and unwind, as opposed to the 'party, let's get wasted,' or the 'look at me' crowd- something which my friends and I very much appreciated.
