Had my hair cut by Kat for the first time this past Saturday, and, besides being a total sweetheart with such great energy, she really took the time to talk to me about what I wanted, asked me many questions about how I styled my hair now, and discussed what I liked about the inspo pictures I brought. Since I wanted to play up my natural texture, she added a bunch of fun layers without sacrificing too much length. She also gave me tips on how to style the center part bangs more efficiently, as I was used to cutting and styling my bangs straight across my forehead. Choosing to try a completely different haircut and style can be a bit scary, but Kat was awesome and made the process more comfortable. Will definitely be back once my layers start to grow out more and need reshaping again! read more

About a year ago (as recorded on an old yelp account I have) I went to get my hair cut at this salon and it was wonderful! But, this time around I was trying to get out of my comfort zone. I called ahead and was informed the two artists I requested were booked up. Whoever I spoke to on the phone was very nice & assured me that another one of their stylist was very capable of doing what I requested. I was so excited and happy to get out of my comfort zone. My appointment started great & the cut seemed to be great as well. It wasn't until she began to style my hair, I realized it was nothing close to the inspiration photos I showed her beforehand and she completely agreed it was possible and she was willing and happy to do it! My hair came out great, it is just nothing like I wanted. Nothing like what I entended to spend my money on. I'm disappointed because I thought, wow, I finally found a salon I could trust. I've always heard stories of people asking a hairstylist to do one thing, and they're led to think it's possible when in actuality they do not get what they want. I'm bummed it's happened. As of 7/2025 (FOR KIDS). Just FYI, I was told be a man that this salon does not welcome any kids 12 and under. I have 2 girls I was looking to get haircuts for and reached out through yelp... they never responded. So I called a few days later and that's when I was informed that no kids 12 and under are welcomed here. I specifically asked the age and was told no kids 12 and under. Maybe this is a new policy - only because I did read in reviews of other kids getting cuts here. I understand policy is policy but at least reply to people reaching out through yelp. My friend reached out through yelp for a completely different reason and received a prompt reply. Idk go figure. read more

This review is specific to my textured hair girls who enjoy smoothing treatments. I have been getting Brazilian blowouts and color services from Tiffany for nearly two years now. She's meticulously patient and thorough. I followed her from the salon she was at before for a reason. I can't stress how hard it is to find someone who works well with atypical hair. I was looking for a hair stylist to dye my hair a very specific way and was thankful to run into Tiffany who did a great job dyeing my hair red with streaks of black I was very pleased with how it turned out and would definitely be going back to her for a re-dye. Paid around $290 (not including tip, I gave her cash) which was definitely reasonable for the amount of work and time she put in. I was in dire need of a color correction after digging myself deep into a Manic Panic hole. Bri transformed my horribly stained maroon red hair into a rose gold pink dream, all the while keeping my hair healthy and intact!! The way she turned my mistake into something I absolutely loved... Don't go unless you'd like receptionist to mock you I Created a Yelp account JUST to leave this review. Do not ever, EVER, go to this salon unless you're ready to settle with the amount of effort these "artists" want to go through that day, or be ridiculously mocked like I was. I went to this salon after checking out many others Because I wanted to do something fun after having virgin brown hair my whole life. I'm a licensed esthetician, and have helped plenty of my friends through cosmetology school so I was fully aware of some things. My ends were fried/spilt (so I needed a cut), I was not interested in up keeping the style (since I want to dye all of my hair a solid color on top of the highlights/lowlights), and I was willing to pay any price to take a chance on a fun hairstyle. My expectations were low, I was flexible, and excited to go to a salon that had people with vibrantly dyed hair. I did NOT expect the level of unprofessionalism, belittling, and rude treatment I received. I walked in with no appointment just looking for a consult, and was told by the receptionist/stylist (dark black mullet, more of a gothic style) that what I wanted was unrealistic and that no one would feel comfortable doing "any type of blond highlights next to a darker color since it will bleed into it". I voiced all of my previous knowledge and my carefree attitude going into it. She was not taking it at all. You could also see my confusion when half the people this salon posts and employees have starkly icy blond and (insert any color here) dyed hair. She laughed at my reference photo, kept calling me hon (condescendingly), and only recommended dying all of my hair red, or just getting highlights. Secondly, she said when I was sick of it (since that's what "college students do" - her words) and wanted to dye over it, it wouldn't be possible. When I tried to insist and stand my ground, she called over another stylist (An individual with short bleached hair and greenish tips), and they too dramatically laughed, covering their mouth and saying how "yeah this isn't real". Professionalism and hospitality is the first lesson you learn in any kind of service industry, it's the first thing I learned, and they clearly have none. The receptionist got up, touched my hair without asking since I was just standing there like a baffled idiot in front of the desk, and told me to go home and "go get some more photos of different hair", before giving me her card (hilarious) and going to help another client. I realized most chairs had their own stylists sitting in them, dying their own hair. A few girls, dying their hair half bleached, half random color. I was furious. I walked out and went straight to Inked salon in Covina where my new stylist Lesly, did a version of what I wanted (which I was always down to do), at a pretty close price point. Do not go to this salon unless you want to be judged by the people you think would be the last to judge you, or if you want to be treated like a toddler if you look anything under 40. I posted photos of what I wanted and what INKED SALON gave me, NOT this horrible establishment. Way to lose and lie to a potential customer and fellow licensed peer. I'm never setting foot in here again and for sure letting all of my peers at my previous school know not to come here. Awful attitudes, for people trying to cover up their rude personalities with "different" hairstyles. (The two people I met at least) UPDATE: the owner has reached out and apologized below and while my initial experience stands, I do really appreciate the kind gesture, and hopefully it stands as a learning experience for all parties :) read more

I've been coming to Marisa for almost 4 years and it's safe to say she's the best in the game. When I go to other salons, they don't really translate what I envision in my head to my hair, but with Marisa, I leave the salon more than satisfied each time! She's my go-to for vivid colors, blondes, and haircuts. Well I'm not sure what to say except that they overcharged me and tried to rip me off (totally unethical and unprofessional) I went in for an appointment with Alison for a full balayage at 1:15 which ended at 5:30 The balayage is quoted to be $255 on their website and they charged me $350 which I understand since I have long hair THEN they added an extra charge for toner for $85 which makes no sense since they already charged me extra for the balayage I really don't understand how they think this is acceptable business practice I'll be reaching out the BBB as well read more

This is a great salon if you're looking to get your hair colored. They have decent pricing and pretty much always booked and busy -- which is a good thing because they do great work. I called and made an appointment with Denise. So I showed up to my appointment one day early thinking I had an appointment lol. Good thing Denise was open and she took me in! She did a balayage/babylights on my hair. And oh girl, she literally revived my hair! Denise spent 5.5 hours on me and I just have to say, she's the sweetest and most detailed stylist I've ever met! Bri is the BEST. I met Bri when I saw her walk out of the salon and saw how perfect her hair was. I thought she was a customer so I asked her who did her hair. I wanted the same exact style and color she had. She told me she worked at the salon and did her hair herself!!! Ever since then, I've seen her for YEARS. This is the longest I've stayed with a stylist because she hits the mark every, single, time. I show her pictures and we discuss the best/healthiest way to approach the style and color I want for my hair/hair type. She is always honest with me. Sometimes I want to keep bleaching it, but she'll recommend a break to avoid damaging my hair. She takes her time with the process and never feels rushed. She always makes sure I'm happy when I leave! I've gone from black to blonde to pink to brown to grey to purple to blue to natural. I've done it all. My hair has stayed healthy the whole time and I'm always so excited to see her. Sometimes, I'll forget the "at home maintenance strategy" she gives me during my session BUT I never stress cause she always answers my DMs. She even has given me links to tutorials on how to do certain hairstyles I like. She helped me figure out how to curl my hair the way I wanted for my university graduation 300+ miles away in Berkeley.
