After seeing the low maintenance balayages on Frank's Instagram I excitedly made an appointment to get my hair done by him last year in 2025. Reservation fee: He required a $50 reservation fee via Zelle, that went towards service. Franks assistant might work on your hair with him and in his place: He used me to train his assistant, Eliana, how to do the balayage with him and also in his place when he needed to tend to another client he was still working on. She was sweet and helpful, and the highlights turned out good under Frank's supervision. He uses a method of teasing the root, spraying it with hairspray, and then applying the lightening mixture, to get that seamless look. Eliana also did my haircut which was unexpected since I booked with Frank, not his assistant. It took her a while to cut it, and it turned out just ok. From what she said she is newer to the industry unlike Frank with many more years of experience. Time: It took about 5 hours for the balayage, toner, and cut. Overpaying at this salon: Another stylist in the salon was rudely talking about how much more she was charging new clients compared to old clients. Frank kept a neutral vibe while she ranted on about not needing anyone if they don't want to pay her higher price. This didn't sit well due to the fact that I paid hundreds more at this salon to see Frank than I have anywhere else to get my hair done. She didn't mention anything about her expenses going up due to inflation, just that she's making so much more from new clients now. The combined total to Frank and Eliana was $562.00 for the cut, balayage, toner and tips to each. I won't be returning as the experience and result was not stellar for the premium price. For the same service, my previous hairdresser in Pasadena was in the mid-high 300s w/tip (and this was after raising her prices a few years ago- it used to be low 300s) and my new hairdresser in Rancho Cucamonga is in the low 300s w/tip. read more

I have been trusting Frank with my hair for over five years now. He always lends a listening ear to my hair-hopes and concerns. He then makes sure that whatever style I choose will be a good fit for my hair type. My hair is often damaged from swimming and being in the sun for too long, yet he manages to make it feel healthy again every time. Love how he provides tips for after care as well. There have been times where I tried something completely new, like going lighter than I'm used to, and he kindly follows up a few days later, after I have adjusted to see how I am feeling about the color. First time dying hair and what a complete disappointment it was. I booked an appointment with Eliana, Ella, for full color dye along with a hair cut and blow out. When I had showed her my Inspo pictures I believed we were on the same page. Even after I had told her I wanted a DARK brown... not sure if she missed the memo or what she was thinking but my color ended up being a COPPER red "brown". Completely disappointed and dissatisfied! When I had reiterated how I wanted my hair dark and sent her more Inspo pictures along with letting her know once again how I DID NOT WANT THE RED she is now charging me for an additional charge for a new color. So basically making me pay extra for her mistake! What an absolute joke. Rather than make it right and give me options she's over here charging for her mistakes. Thankfully I was able to find another stylist who was able to fix this hideous mess and explained how with a simple neutral toner it could have been fixable if actual hair stylist knew what to do and made sure potential new clients were satisfied. From the long mermaid blonde hair to my now short natural black hair cut (pictured below), she has done it all. My favorite part is that if you're like me, where you know you want short, or long, or dyed hair, but don't know what looks best, Liz knows exactly what to do. I really never write reviews because I understand sometimes it just doesn't come out but I'm writing this because this person did not deserve my $ at all! I worked so hard for this and was SO excited and I'm just so sad by the lack of accountability/ empathy. I paid $600 for my hair with Monique. $150 on Itips application, $375 for a balayage , and the rest on color correction. We started by doing the balayage and when she was done I saw there was BARELY any blonde it just looked like a color correction so I asked for more blonde, she said the extensions would lighten it. ( which that is a complete separate service?) (why pay for a full balayage then?) She also said the total would be $450 and charged me $100 more at the register for a gloss I NEVER asked for or consented. And $150 for the whole pack of Itips I ASKED to apply since my natural hair ITSELF WASN'T BLONDE so I NEEDED the extensions to LIGHTEN IT. When she told me the final price at register I found it very unprofessional but i just paid and left. After a day i reached out to Monique and sent her pictures ( which you can see it looks all over the place) hoping for understanding and a refund for the balayage since in the pictures you can literally tell is not THERE AT ALL and it looks all over the place but she said is not in her policy and only offered to fix it later. She knows I live far and have a trip in less than a week and she couldn't schedule a time with me ahead of time because she is out of town.I texted her Saturday asking her to PLEASE AT LEAST let me know before she comes back but still no response and it's Monday. She will probably text back once she is back in town but with a work ethic like this l I just feel SO uncomfortable to go back. Her being more understanding/ friendly or trying better to give solutions or after the inconvenience just try her best to understand me and try to give me a day/time before she comes back would've been SO nice. I asked for an opinion and a suggestion, and all I got was a cold shoulder and a disgruntled employee. Frankie, adjust your attitude. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The Owner Frank is one of the nastiest people I've ever met. I went in to return a product that didn't work and was told I couldn't return it because a stylist that sold it to me doesn't work there anymore. Then he said he didn't have the product, so he wouldn't exchange it for me. Then he said he wouldn't return it because he couldn't find me in the system. Which is it guy?! He was so confusing. I even had a receipt, which should have been enough to show I bought it at the salon, but he didn't care. He repeated that because the stylist who did my hair is no longer there, about 4x's. He met me with such aggression to start I couldn't understand why, come to find out there are some unresolved issues with my previous hair stylist, and he was taking his aggression against her out on me. I was not asking for a haircut back, I was asking for a product exchange that I bought at THEIR salon. He then began to ignore me, so I went to pick up a product to walk out with, and that's when he paid attention. It's ridiculous that I even had to do that to get his attention. Please do not support people like this. Horrible. He could have done the right thing and exchanged the product. He even could've gained a new customer. Switch up the attitude frank. I will tell everyone about this experience, and hopefully, this business goes bankrupt. Frankie does not deserve anyone's money.
