Lyvia is the best!! My mom typically gets her cut and color from Lyvia and her hair always looks great so I decided to give her a try. I'm admittedly extremely picky with my hair cuts and it doesn't help that I have extremely long thick hair. I've gotten my hair cut twice by Lyvia and both times I've been extremely happy with the results!! She always double checks to make sure you're happy with the length prior to cutting it and I really appreciate that she will take the time to explain things, (such as texturizing hair at the end vs a blunt cut etc) She's extremely calm and professional and super sweet. My hair is pretty long so I was kinda expecting to have to pay more, but I only had to pay extra for the toner($30). I researched this place really thoroughly before booking my appointment(Yelp, Instagram, Facebook) and it looked promising so I went through with it. So happy with what I got for such an amazing deal! Brooke did a great job and made my hair so soft and beautiful! She is so sweet and I really enjoyed having her do my hair. The color came out a tiny bit off from what I was hoping for, but with blondes(and I had virgin brown hair) I know that should sort of be expected. A little background story before coming to Katie with our hair catastrophe: About a month ago, my identical twin sister and I went to get our hair done at a DIFFERENT SALON ( never ever go to Hair Elegance in Eastvale, CA. You WILL regret it!) And their very own manager, Michelle, completely butchered our hair!! We had about an inch of grow out and all we asked for was just a simple root touch up of blended highlights.. She gave us zebra stripes, turned our hair orange, even burned my damn scalp and I had pieces of hair coming off from the amount of bleach she used!! And to top it off she was so damn rude and disrespectful to her customers. It was an absolute horrible experience and it cost me and my twin our jobs! We both model. So, we could not attend our auditions the following day because our hair was a complete mess!! We had to postpone everything! I was literally crying when I texted Katie over at Salon Vanity about the situation and she was immediately SOO KIND AND REASSURING THAT SHE WAS GONNA FIX THE DAMAGES! (She was the complete from that awful lady at the other salon!) She even gave me some helpful hints such as to soak my hair in coconut oil for as long as I could. And that we could come into the salon a week later after our hair had a good rest. Let me tell you, Katie Alm (IG: @katieealm ) IS A MACHINE! I'm giving this place 1 star because of how nice the staff was but unfortunately, my appointment was a nightmare. I had the most horrific experience her. My hair was completely butchered. My appointment was made with Erin Sims whom I've know through my family for years. I sent the appointment at 1:30 and she didn't take me until 2:45. I understand that's how it works sometimes but she knew I was coming in and should've been ready for me. I came in wanting a trim and bayalage highlights. Usually that sort of work takes 5-7 hours. But she only spent about two hours on me. All she did was apply bleach to lighten my hair and rinsed it out. She did not apply a toner and my hair was orange. Not to mention she was rushing because she had to get to a birthday party across the street. I felt it was very unprofessional. I got this done the day before my birthday and had to cancel my plans. So, the next day, my birthday, I spent 7 hours in another salon chair getting my hair corrected. It's hard writing this review since I know the hair dresser but I feel like others need to be aware of her work. read more

I cannot find the words to recommend Kristen enough. She got me back to my pre-covid look 100%. What blew me away was when I sat in her chair, her first question was "What do you not like about your hair?"; versus what do you expect. Katie Alm is a hair God. I went in for a color and walked out with more than I expected. I use to pay a friend, who has a salon, to do my hair. Little did I know she was using older techniques which left my hair uneven and at an awkward stage for color. I have an appointment this week for another color with Katie and truly am excited. Today she did my roots and also put a gorgeous Joico color over my faded highlights. It's kind of a vibrant, merlot shade - I love it! She is very sweet and punctual. Neither visit did I have to wait, which I appreciate. She also uses a special cleaner to remove the hair color around the hairline/forehead and I appreciate that as well. Too many times I've had my hair colored and end up leaving with stains on my forehead, like a sloppy mess. There isn't any chipped polish anymore This salon is clean & organized well. The workers all get along & are polite & professional. Angelique did a amazing job. I've been here 3 times within the year and I had the most amazing, beautiful and comfortable experience ever! And it is thanks to my wonderful hair stylist, Christina. She is such a sweet and gentle soul with hands of love to match. She is truly an Artist at her craft and feel blessed to have met her. The hair dye and toners she uses are so gentle, I can barley feel something is on my scalp except for the cool temperature. She uses high quality, burn free products (and I've had my share of burns & sharp tingles in the past).
