Came here for brunch with a girlfriend and I was a little hesitant because of the long wait (we waited 30-45min and anytthjng over a 10 minute wait better be worth it in my humble opinion). However once we were seated and got our food, my worries were put to rest. The staff here is very friendly and the barista is super, super cute and knows his menu. I will definitely be back. I would HIGHLY recommend the berry pancakes. They look small but are pretty filling. I forgot what kind of omelette i got but I would pass on it. #1 brunch pick in Montclair. Why? Food is high quality comfort food. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and lots of effort is put into composing the dishes. A variety of egg dishes, sandwiches, toasts, spreads, salads and side items abound here. If you become a regular the staff will surely get to know, part of the local suburban charm that is Montclair. Avocado toast is a winner here. Lots of Avo on thick cut bread with lemon zest and pepper flakes on top. The egg sando is also phenomenal - try it on the brioche with avocado (yes, I love my avocado). Also: killer pulled pork eggs benny. Matcha lattes are great, as are all of the juices. I like the glow juice. Regular lattes are great and variety of milk is offered. 2:30 cookies are of dreams. Every day, cookies come out of the oven at 2:30 - hence the name. Craving sweets, come here. Be prepared to wait for brunch on the weekends unless you arrive early. There's only a few outdoor tables, so expect to eat inside. If you're willing to wait, then you won't be disappointed. The Corner continues to maintain its rating of delicious food and drinks. I came alone for brunch on a Sunday and the place was crowded. I waited about 15 minutes for a seat which wasn't too bad. My overall summary: Food 5 stars: I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich which consists of house cured bacon, egg, garlic aioli and greens served w pickled red onion on a buttermilk biscuit. I substituted the bacon for avocado. It was delicious but messy; not ideal if you're on a date or not looking to get messy. Drink 5 stars: I ordered the large cappuccino which was creamy and flavorful. Loved it! Service 4 stars: fast and friendly. They did forget a condiment I asked for but overall the sandwich didn't need it. Ambiance 4 stars: very cute shop but small. Not ideal for large groups and it gets crowded! There is metered parking lot around the corner (no pun intended) towards the back of the building. Sunday's are free. Overall, if you're in the area and don't mind waiting, I would definitely recommend the Corner. read more

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and the place had a wait. Since I was by myself, they had an opening at the bar and the wait was really short. They do have a few tables outside too. Only street parking is available and there is a parking lot nearby. It did take a little while for the server to come by and take my order but once the order was in the food was quickly brought out. I ordered a latte, wild bounty juice and the baked egg as my entree. All the juices are freshly squeezed and the one I ordered was refreshing and delicious. I ordered my latte with whole milk, however, they do have soy and almond milk as options. They also serve la colombe coffee and a variety of teas. The baked eggs was amazing and flavorful. The dish has a layer of black beans, crispy corn tortilla, tomato salsa, poached eggs, queso fresco and avocados. The crispy corn tortilla added a perfect crunch to each bite. I asked for some hot sauce on the side which gave it a nice kick. Overall, the food, service, and drinks were outstanding. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. They are also BYOB which I did not take advantage of but would with some friends. The place is small so be prepared to wait especially if bringing a large group. read more

Great brunch spot in Montclair, I have been here a few times. It is not very big and with covid restrictions you may have to wait to get a table but it's definitely worth the wait. My favorite is the Fresh Berry Pancakes, they are fluffy and have a great taste. I only got to taste a little bit of my boyfriend's smoked salmon on toast but I'd go back just for that. The smoked salmon toast is topped with 2 perfectly poached eggs, dill, fresh cream and capers. Add a dash of hot sauce and you've got yourself a mouth party full of flavor. I also really liked his cappuccino :). I had the fresh berry pancakes with poached apricots. the worst birthday brunch I ever had. Not only they made us wait longer than they told us, but the service sucked. They brought a candle on a macaroon, before I ate and finished my first order, my soup! They want you to get out of there, the minute you sit down, or before you order things. Very rude. When my husband told me why they would not let me sit in one of the empty bar chairs while waiting for 55 minutes standing, the manager got angry at my husband instead of answering him. Well I absolutely commend the service and the employees, who regardless of the amount of people waiting, are able to execute friendly service all around. I never felt rushed. KJ was our waitress for an early brunch on Friday and she was helpful in giving me the run down on their lattes and other menu specials. -Get those pancakes btw. They are amazing! BYOB, biscuits (with the jam!), and the breakfast sandwich are some of my favorites from this cozy little spot. The draft latte is delicious. The last time I stopped by there was an hour and twenty minute wait, which just shows people will wait instead of going to the nearby cafe because this place is just solid. Been to the corner twice and every time I go the place just gets better and better. The wait is definitely the only issue with this place. Since the place is small, there is usually a wait of about an hour. We talked to the manager of the place and he said from open to close they are usually busy and non-stop. The food is exceptional and there cookies made best cookie in New Jersey. We had a variety of their food. The burger has fries that was addicting. We had the deviled eggs, the corner burger, the pulled pork, and Benedict. They also have the best avocado toast around the area. The service was also great. The wait here for brunch is insane - it took me over an hour to be seated on a Saturday afternoon. Not to mention another hour passed before the food actually arrived after ordering. I ordered the pancakes, while my friends ordered the omelette, the corner burger, and the pineapple quinoa special. The food was good, but nothing spectacular - it looked a lot better than it actually tasted. I was particularly disappointed by my pancakes, which I had expected to be soft and fluffy after seeing pictures. They were, however, dry and crumbly, and they didn't come with enough whipped cream or fruit. The pancakes resembled bread more than typical pancakes. The only dish that really impressed me was the quinoa, which was a special of the day and isn't always available. The entire meal took more than three hours because of all the waiting, which was especially annoying because my car was in a metered parking spot. I don't know whether the kitchen and waitstaff were just slammed that day or whether the service is actually that poor, but I can't say I'm eager to return. read more

The Corner has great food and baked goods, all made in house. Normally I go here to pick up cookies, only made at 2:30 and 12:30. They are big chocolate chip cookies, which are normally still hot with a crunchy outside. They are made in small batches so go early for them. The last time I was here, the owner kindly offered me 2 croissants and jelly. It was unexpected but very nice. I went home and tried one, it was very good toasted with jelly. I'd go back for them for sure! I would definitely come back to try more options in the near future. I appreciate their customer service and amazing baked goods! read more

The Corner has consistently impressed me and I always look forward to coming here. Just about everything I have here delivers. The egg sandwich, the biscuits, my favorites such as the delicious and impressive pancakes and the phenomenal brisket hash with cornbread, everything. Even the drinks are winners the "Bounce back" juice masks my distaste for beets and the matcha lemonade is always a refreshing treat. The scones are great too. Everything is just well done here. The lines are long but understandably so after eating here, and after almost my tenth visit I realized I've never really left disappointed. The wait staff are very friendly and engaging and although small, the space is utilized well here that has a very nice vibe. So I've heard about this place and have been wanting to come here for the longest time so i'm glad I was finally able to visit. Parking is all metered so make sure you have an alarm to make sure you don't get a ticket. The wait for the corner depends on if you're willing to sit inside, outside, or on the booth. The staff is very helpful and friendly- makes sure you're taken care of. I waited about 20 minutes to be seated on a Tuesday morning around 10am but I know when I tried coming here on a Saturday morning for brunch it was over an hour wait. Once seated, I ordered myself a black and tan (not a coffee fan but this was absolutely delicious) while my friend got a grapefruit soda (which she loved and stated it tasted like a less sweet version of izzy). The food option all sounded DELICIOUS, wish I could have tried it all (but it's okay, gives me all the more reason to come back). I got the breakfast sandwich while my friend got the toast sampler. Both were decent and filling and CHEAP! I love the fact that everything was around $10-$14. I even got the rosemary shoe fries for $5 and it was literally a pile of fries in a bowl (definitely enough for two people to share). We've been here a few times since moving to NJ. Wait is about 30 minutes for a table for 2 on a weekend. Not too shabby for how small it is. What we love coming here for, besides the incredible service, is their baked goods and La Colombe coffee! The pancakes look prettier than they taste.
