Sadly, they're slipping. And I *LOVE* Corner Bar, so I hope this is temporary. Went in a few weeks ago around three. No more French Onion on the menu, so I ordered clam chowder. The food runner brought it out with a cloth, warning me that it was hot. I had to wait a minute or so to flag down our waitress and get a SPOON, but not that long. Still, the soup was only lukewarm, and the inside of the potatoes were COLD. Waitress was very nice and apologetic, reheated it. My Lovely Dining Companion ordered his burger well-done. It came out on the rare. He ate it anyway. I really hope that they straighten out whatever's going on in the kitchen, and soon. read more

She's tiny, but how she can eat! My mom wanted to visit the formal restaurant, but our short stay in Boulder allowed us only a lunch at The Corner Bar. And what a lunch! (the tiniest one of the bunch, mom ordered three dishes) The food was delicious, service friendly and, after tasting a sip of mom's margarita with agave nectar, I had to order my own. It's a comfortable lunch spot with an admirable, if small, menu. read more

This restaurant bar was great, really solidified my love for Boulder. I was only there for a day and I was so satisfied with what I found there. The service was a bit slow (we sat outside) but this helped it have a very relaxed atmosphere and our waitress was really nice when she did come to our table. Fat Tire was only $3 that night and they had other well-priced drink specials. My girlfriend and I split two appetizers in the form of a corn bisque with prosciutto and chanterelles and shrimp and saffron risotto fritters. Both were fresh, full of flavor but not overwhelming in their flavor. Just clean, bright food. My girlfriend ordered a basic steak and potatoes dish and I a green coconut curry with shrimp. Both were simply plated, incredibly fresh, and just the right amount of food. Although the service was a little slow, the food was of extraordinary quality and the price for both the food and drink (especially if you take advantage of the specials) was incredibly reasonable. read more

This place has a nice environment, good beers, and tasty food. The only reason I gave it a 3 stars instead of 4 stars is because I thought it was waaaay overpriced. Last time I was there was 10 pm on a Sunday, and they had the only kitchen in town that was still open. My table shared an order of nachos, gnocchi, and a bowl of clam chowder - all of which were very tasty, but way to expensive for my taste. I might return at some point. read more

I came here for happy hour and in the end, our bill showed a savings of around $35. I do have to wonder if the food is just overpriced here so that happy hour prices are more inline with what the food is actually worth. I don't know. Sure the bar is nice, the hotel historic, but the food at The Corner Bar is just regular bar food. The food was ordinary, presentation was tired/rote and it was edible, but I wouldn't come here again even for happy hour. There are much better places to eat in Boulder, by far. read more

My man wanted a meal and all they have is sandwiches. This place would have received a 3 star review with just the bar menu. However, if you ask they will bring you the Spruce menu, which is the high end restaurant on the other side of the hotel (Boulderado). We were able to enjoy the casual Corner Bar while having a nice meal instead of just sandwiches. The bar itself does have an awesome moose's head to decorate the place, which lends itself to the hip and mellow atmosphere. It is a nice place to hang and meet with friends. Drinks are solid and if available the patio is good for enjoying the Boulder atmosphere. read more

Everything about this place is amazing! From the delicious calamari to the jumbo, flavorful nachos this place doesn't disappoint. Our server who's name I can't remember.. But he has his nose pierced is such a relaxed free spirt which was nice. The Colorado beer is really good here. The town is really beautiful and relaxed. It will be a huge mistake passing up on this place Ordered a smores dessert.... Check back for update. read more

With all the awesome places to eat and drink in Boulder, please don't overlook The Corner Bar. Other places come and go, but this is classic Boulder. Great people watching inside or outside, service that doesn't miss a best, and a good (evolving -- not classic) selection of food and drink. Always a wonderful experience. read more

The Corner Bar was my first and favorite bar I visited when stopping through Boulder. Jackie always knows when I walk in that I love their house coin margarita with salt. It's comforting to return to a place with such a wonderful atmosphere. The tuna tartar is almost as good as her marg skills! read more

Continually disappointed with boulderado restaurants. I was going to blame the unemployment rate being too low but I don't think that is an excuse. Waitress was good and apologetic for the drinks taking 20 minutes to arrive. Steak was a good cut but over salted. read more

They always deliver good food and it's consistent. The service is hit or miss. There is one server who is fantastic but every other one we've had isn't on par. A nice place to come and enjoy a meal on the patio. The burgers are delicious! read more

Excellent selection of draft brews combined with a unique and appealing menu. Had and enjoyed the deviled eggs, trout dip, nachos and sprouts. Deelish and plenty of parking abound. read more

The Corner Bar - Appetizers and buffalo gold - Burgers Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

I'm so disappointed. This has always been at least moderately vegetarian friendly and now it seems activity vegetarian UNFRIENDLY. The few options they do have are terrible. Plus, they must have a new chef and he/she is not wonderful in general. Roasted Carrot Hummus?Gross!! Everyone in our group was disappointed with the food, not just the vegetarians. Those who have dined at Spruce said the same thing. It's just not very good. I've been coming to the Corner bar for about a decade and always enjoyed the place. The new menu is uncreative and unBoulder. It's boring, standard fare. Not worth the effort of going back, frankly. read more

I absolutely USED to love this place... However the ownership has changed and the food is not even close to what it used to be. While the ambience and location is great the nachos now have Velvetta like cheese and they took all the good stuff off the menu... Very sad. Absolutely nothing on the menu for vegetarians other than hummus read more

Home of the legendary salmon sandwich, wonderful service and amazing chicken and waffles. Everything we've had here has been awesome and it's our go to afternoon date spot. Sophisticated downtown Boulder at its best. read more

I love the Hotel Boulderado and The Corner Bar. It was nice to be back on familiar turf. I saw several people I've known for many years. Everyone made an effort to do their jobs they way they need to under the current circumstances. The food was great. The atmosphere the same as always. The place was clean and all current protocols were being followed. Of course I'll come back often! read more

Honestly, great food, the best service from our server Rachel, this was everything I needed to fix a pretty rugged day. I had the prime rib sandwich with coleslaw (which was probably the best coleslaw I've ever had, even if that sounds inconsequential, it was perfect) and my friend had a burger with a couple beers. He said his food was amazing, too. Please come by and visit them. Especially with how difficult it must be to give service with a (assumed) smile behind a mask, the hospitality was everything. Thanks, humans! read more

I took my Colorado University AFROTC son there for a casual dinner. We love great burgers and this place did NOT disappoint us!! Mike our awesome waiter suggested the Angus Burger, it was the best burger I've ever had! My son order a burger and he loved his too. We both told each other we have a burger place to go to in the future. Mike suggested their Bourbon drink and it was spectacular!!! Our waiter Mike was great, he knew the drink menu and the food menu very well and made great suggestions..........10 Stars! read more

I'm a fan of any place in Boulder that isn't swarming with CU students and this happens to be one of them. I dig the atmosphere when I decide to sit inside. But that is only if it's crappy out otherwise any drink tastes better outside. And yes, the happy hour is fantastic.... What's better that steak fries? Oh yes, steak fries fried in duck fat. If you're gonna do it, do it right. read more

Stopped in for a small bite and beverage. I got the mojito. Not just a regular mojito, there was something special about it (I can't remember exactly what but it was on the drink special menu) but I thought it was not that special at all. The $6 organic mixed greens salad, on the other hand, was worth every penny. It has raspberries, pistachios, preserved lemon, and was perfectly coated in balsamic vinaigrette. It's one of those tiny salads that you wish was your meal. read more

There are very few rest that understand the importance of sourcing their ingredients and actually providing an organic option. They also understand how to cook a burger medium rare. The burger was just the right size and extremely tasty. Service was excellent. We enjoyed a nice Sun afternoon happy hour. It was just great!!! read more

We stayed at the Hotel Boulderado and went downstairs one night for food here. We love the sweet potato sandwich!

was here for an hour or so, waiting for the doors to open at the fox theater. Had a couple of domestic brews, & belgian ales . I would definitely check this place out if i'm ever in Boulder. Prices were cheap, and there was ample seating. Restrooms were clean too. read more

Fun environment and good food. It's much cheaper to eat here than Q's if you still want the Boulderado experience.

Drinks can be inconsistent at times as well as service, but typically great drinks and prompt service. Close to our house, they are extremely dog friendly and we visit often. Food is really solid too. Steak sandwich ftw. read more

I like this place! I love the cozy and historic feel. I agree with Fishbits X.- simple and classic. A great place to go for a non-college atmosphere. I've never experienced the food but they know how to make a martini! Last time I was there, a pretty drunk middle aged man decided it would be entertaining to wear his complimentary bathrobe around all night. While this probably shouldn't have been too amusing, I was feeling my cocktails. Seeing him at Catacombs (in his bathrobe) after was more amusing. Hopefully he was just visiting town- Corner Bar usually attracts more class than that! read more

Just took a big turn for the worse. So typical of new ownership situations. Menu went from interesting, well-prepared food at a good price to burgers, other boring fare (chicken breast, salmon sandwich) and a shitty wine list. Oh, and $8 Brussels sprouts and $4 oysters. I love oysters. But $4!? Brasserie Ten Ten is taking up the slack for me. read more

Tried going here for a mellow happy hour drink and appetizer the other day. Not only is the description of happy hour on their website completely inaccurate, we had to request a menu from the server, who then refused to serve me a drink as my ID is still vertical (after recently turning 21). We decided to take our business elsewhere after speaking with his rude and unaccommodating manager. Don't waste your time on horrendous customer relations. Good food is not that hard to find in boulder. read more

While I lived outside of Boulder for almost 20 years, I didn't make it into the Corner Bar until I had moved away to Chicago and went back as a vacationer. The Corner Bar far exceeded my expectations. Great burgers, crispy fries, tasty turkey sandwiches and even gnocchi. Whether you're a local or just passing through make a stop in at the corner bar and be as surprised as I was. read more

Coming here for years, after a recent visit it is now off my radar. Went in on a week- end afternoon for a beer and a bite. New space looks good, cleaned up and the moose head is back! I had a craft beer, at most places the same beer is no more then $5 (which is pricy) this beer was $6, really, I understand downtown and hotel prices but that's at least a dollar more then any place around you! Service was ok..They had run out of bloody mix. The whole machine shut down..I am sorry but a barkeep who can not make a bloody mary on the fly is...worthless! The menu looked good but not in the mood for brunch at 2pm, there were other items other then eggs but few and far between. I choose not to eat due to limited items to choose from. Overall the ol' feeling is lost with the recent takeover by the Day Group, no longer feels like the downtown local bar but more like a cookie cutter hotel bar with a sterile feel. read more

Great little bar under the hotel. The signature drinks prepared but he bartender were outstanding. Staff was super attentive always making sure we were taken care of. A little must stop at if in Boulder. Will be back read more

We had one of our most memorable and romantic meals here! We both ordered the salmon sandwich, with a side of green salad instead of fries. The grilled salmon and the tomatoes and onions were delicious and even the buns had a buttery flavor. The salad with ranch dressing was the perfect accompaniment. For dessert, i had the flourless chocolate cake with caramel sauce and caramel ice creal. My husband ordered the blueberry buckle with vanilla gelato. After tasting both, we decided the flourless chocolate cake was the superior choice. The service was also excellent and friendly, and the huge moose head overlooking the dining room was a special treat! We will make it a point to eat at The Corner Bar again anytime we are visiting in Boulder, CO. read more

I adore this place. Full menu from the restaurant, full bar with friendly, CUTE barkeeps that can suggest anything (it took me awhile to realize that there are alcoholic beverages for when you are sick, like a hot n toddy), and a really simple, classic vibe that is simple, local, convenient, and a perfect place to meet up with people, have a simpler brunch or lunch than Q's, and a great mellow local sit down at a table place for after work beverages! read more

One of our favorite places to hang out and get drinks in Boulder. It's generally quiet enough to hear other people, and the mixed drinks are very good. I'm also addicted to their nachos, and the other food is excellent as well. I'm sad that it's changing chefs, but hopefully they won't change it up too much! read more

I love the Corner Bar! Great Service. Amazing, creative menu, and the bartender always makes cocktails with a personal touch. I'm not sure why this has a low rating, this place is amazing, the happy hour is fantastic. It's super clean in here, the food is delicious. Mikey the bartender with the super sick dreads was amazing, quick, and super knowledgeable with his drinks, I would definitely recommend it. read more

I went here a few weeks ago with my friends and had a terrible experience. Grant it, they were experiencing a busy day due to the spring weather. I was just disappointed because I get better service at lower end restaurants. read more
