We started our meal with salads, I had the Caesar and it was great (probably my least favorite or the meal if I had to choose) Next up, our waiter, Atilla, suggested trying the A5 Waygu as an appetizer and that was a wonderful suggestion. This is my first time trying it, I have NO WORDS. It was AMAZING. Melted in your mouth. This needed no seasoning, the flavor was wonderful by itself. We ordered 6oz which was the minimum and plenty to share. It is very rich. I'm glad we didn't get this as a meal, appetizer was perfect. Then we shared the Chateaubriand, which was lovely and so flavorful. It was 18oz I believe, meant to share. To end our meal our waiter suggested the doughnuts (phenomenal) and the favorite way to end a meal - coffee with a liquor creamer, 5 farms. The presentation for the coffee was so fun! To kick off restaurant week 2019, me and the gals headed down to 3rd where it ain't so sleepy! They have an array of craft cocktails and wines. I ordered a 6 oz glass of rose, and my younger sister Fran had to outdo me with a 9 oz pour. Onto the meal, pumpkin! We sampled bay scallops, baked ricotta,and salad - all divine! We had an incredible time at the Continental on 3rd Ave. We had the yellowtail carpaccio (amazing) as an appetizer. I've had a lot of sushi grade fish, but never anything prepared like this. I wish the dish came with more fish!! I can't wait to go back and get this again. I ordered the New York Strip, Mashed Potatoes, Sautéed Spinach and Baked Mushrooms. The steak was incredibly flavorful, the mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot), and the baked mushrooms were probably top 3 all time! We had an amazing sommelier who picked out so much nice wine, which I unfortunately didn't take a picture of (cant remember the name or year). All around amazing experience and food for Naples. Nice ambiance at the continental and really cool bar area. The oysters were very fresh. I had the scallops of the day which were prepared perfect and very tasty. This is probably my favorite place to get a steak in Naples. The beef is prime grade tender and juicy, perfectly seasoned and cooked. They also offer real Japanese Wagyu at market price, an experience not to be missed if you don't mind the hefty charge. That being said, their seafood is also fresh and perfectly prepared and there are plenty of other items on the menu to suit every taste. Normally, I try to branch out and try lots of different restaurants when I visit Naples but this place is so good and has such a great summer dining deal going that I ended up there twice in the space of a week. Both times the food was exceptional, perfectly prepared and scrumptious. But I was particularly impressed by the service. I was not only recognized from my single previous visit but the waiter remembered details of my previous meal, including a preference for indoor (air conditioned) seating and no lactose, even my daughters preference in steak sauce! The Continental is a beautiful, opulent restaurant offering seating in two indoor dining rooms as well as outdoor seating on a shaded patio with fans. There is also an outdoor bar and they pour a good stiff drink. The house specials in particular, are excellent but extremely potent. There is also a good selection of wines both by the glass and by the bottle available to complement every meal. There are many beautiful independent restaurants serving wonderful food in Naples, but the service and attention to detail at The Continental sets them apart from the pack and justifies 5 stars in my opinion. read more

The inside is beautiful with pre set tables and fine dining service. Two people had burgers which they loved, and I had the Celery Root Ravioli and Cauliflower Risotto. I thought the ravioli was going to be ravioli, but it was a few turnip shavings and mushrooms cut up small. It was good, but very light and expensive for what it was. It was $36 for a few turnip shavings. The server was amazingly helpful and nice. He knows what he's doing. I would come here if you love steak and have the money to spend on wine. read more

I was looking forward to having a nice dinner at the continental. The atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed the steak tartare and the yellowtail carpaccio for an appetizer. For dinner I ordered the ribeye and mushrooms. Sadly the ribeye came out burnt. I ordered it medium which it was but the taste of it was of charcoal and burnt tasting. Very disappointing. I ate a few mushrooms but they were also very very salty and oily. It was an ok restaurant wasn't really wowed by it. read more

My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary and we had an amazing time. Our waiter's name was Greg and I want to give him a huge shout out for his awesome service, as he made the entire experience more fun! It is such a romantic place with tons of outdoor seating. The night was beautiful given that there was no humidity. We sat outside right along the fence with a sidewalk view. There is live music playing at the restaurant. They gave us a cute little card for our anniversary and free dessert. Food was 10/10. We ordered the grilled octopus for a starter it was delicious. For dinner we ordered the rib eye two person steak ($98 meal but well worth it). We also ordered Brussels gratin and the mushrooms as a side. The sides are family size so that was the perfect amount (warning - I burned my index finger VERY badly on the meal dish holding the sides as I was not told it was hot, I had no idea...be warned super super hot plate) Dessert we had this chocolate and vanilla mousse cake with a cookie bottom. The outdoor seating was nice, but we were sat right by the band which made hearing anyone in my party very difficult. I ordered the scallops which were so salty, I couldn't eat them ($45). Someone at our table ordered a filet that came out looking like 2oz instead of 5oz. The cocktails and other alcoholic beverages were filled with ice all the way to the rim :( We asked to be moved inside since we couldn't hear one another. BIG MISTAKE!! WOW! This is, hands down, the most amazing restaurant I have ever been to. We were seated on the patio right beside a heater on a chilly night. The jazz trio playing was amazing and added the most appropriate ambiance. The patio is beautifully decorated. Our server, Adam, was absolutely incredible and very knowledgeable of the menu. He suggested only the most amazing things. We began our meal with bread service and oysters. The oysters were accompanied by three different sauces, all of which were amazing. Each pairing offered a delicious flavor. We then split a ceasar salad, which allowed for the perfect portions. When it came to deciding steak, my boyfriend and I knew we didn't want to do anything basic. He chose to have the A5 Japanese Wagyu cooked to the chef's preference (medium rare) which was the most amazing steak I have ever had in my life. The amount of flavor and juiciness packed into this steak was incredible. It absolutely melts in your mouth. I chose the 8oz Snake River Farms Gold filet which was incredible. I chose the Bernaise sauce for the side, which definitely wasn't necessary. The outside of the steak was perfectly crispy but still so juicy and rich in flavor on the inside. It was cooked to perfection. To split, we got the Gratin potatoes which were amazing. They weren't too cheesy or creamy, and the ham added a hint of smoky flavor. For dessert, we went for the donuts. These were so airy and flaky; not too sweet. Paired with a delicious caramel sauce, these cinnamon sugar donuts were to die for! Overall, one of the best restaurants in Naples. With "weeks" of advance notice and requests for my daughters 18th Birthday. This is the second year " she" wanted to dine at The Continental ! Despite my hesitations, given prior years of absolute zero regard for customer care, again the pattern repeats itself. The Continental again ! refused to set up a party of 13 outside. They again placed my daughter in the back of the restaurant , in the darkest location! Despite my pre-arranged 30% gratuity both years and the loyalty to the restaurant , The Continental refused to set a table outside. This special event was preluded with multiple calls and advance notice directly with Management and various hostesses on multiple occasions. Despite the fact that the night was "NOT" sold out in space! There is no policy that will be accepted ! No Excuses! What so ever! If I could rate a ZERO I would! The quality of food is a large part of ratings but honestly , if the customer regard and appreciation for the loyal customers is totally disregarded the food becomes irrelevant. Gone are the days of "BASIC CUSTOMER CARE & REGARD". This would be totally acceptable if we walked in off the street and requested a outdoor seat. BUT! Weeks in advance a personal request on multiple occasions and explaining the event and my daughters love for the restaurant . Don't forget, its the customers whom make your business successful and the management and ownership who will bring them back! My daughter is a beautiful, kind, gracious, loyal , smart young women. You have lost a family in your oversight and unacceptable rigidity. We decided to visit during the SWFL Sizzle Restaurant Week and take advantage of the $36.00 three course dinner. We were quite annoyed that our reserved table was outside. It was much too hot, and we had not been asked about inside or out when making the reservation. We had to wait 45 min for an inside table. If it had been a little cooler, we would have loved to sit outside! The best seating is outside. We got lucky with a table in a glass corner where we could watch almost everything going on outside yet stay quite cool. The service was exceptional! The server had several assistances to make sure your every want and need was met before you could realize you had it. I ordered: Baked Ricotta, Tomato, Pine Nut Granola, Saba 6oz Petite Filet Mignon Continental Cheesecake The starter looked small but was so full of flavor I wished it had been a little smaller by the time I was done. I can't even begin to describe what this was other than a cheese dish, but it was spectacular. I did the $3 upcharge for the peppercorn sauce for my filet and I am glad I did. Both were outstanding. The filet was cooked to order, Very Well and it was still so juicy and melted in my mouth like butter. Amazing! The choices of desert were disappointing and boring. I opted for cheesecake and it was good but boring. Not even a little chocolate drizzle or a strawberry on top. How odd considering how good and well thought out everything else was. My boyfriend ordered: Continental House Salad 12oz Strip Steak (added 4oz Lobster tail for $15) Warm Cinnamon-Sugar Donuts with Salted Carmel Sauce The Salad was inventive and extremely flavorful, much better than the name implies His steak and tail were also excellent, done to perfection (medium rare) and full of flavor. The doughnuts were also very good in flavor but were quite raw inside for his liking. Because of the reservation debacle, he had already decided we would not be going back but after the check came, he looks forward to going back again, this time with an inside table reserved. Note this place is extremely popular year around, please make a reservation. We did not get to experience the bar, but it is worth noting the bar makes many of its own ingredients. The food was great!but the best part of everything was the hostess Brianna Wygocki! She is beyond incredible and our waiter Will was absolutely awesome! When we arrived at the restaurant we had some issues with our reservation Brianna took took care of the problem right away. She went so far out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable and we enjoyed everything. The food was awesome the service is impeccable and Brianna was incredible! Today was my first time coming out this restaurant. Since today was July 4th, me and my girlfriend came here to kill some time and have a bite to eat. Can I just say this place was probably the best decision we made today. First off, as I am a sucker for live music. Today they had a live band playing some jazz to Motown throwbacks. People were dancing, they drinks were flowing and it was just a fun time. It turns out on Wednesday's, their special is a two course meal for $29 before tax. I had a continental salad and a steak with lobster tail. The main course alone made up for the Wednesday special. The cocktails here are well made and pretty strong. I've never eaten in a place that has a better atmosphere for my tastes! The outdoor seating is upscale with the perfect lighting puts the biggest type A personality in a relaxed and happy mood. I didn't even need a drink to chill out. My experience with my needy family was the best I've ever had! My kids didn't touch their phones the whole time, which is a first as well. Great experience and food to match. We did not plan to dine here but walking downtown in the evening this place caught our eye and made plans for the next day. The atmosphere did not disappoint and the service was excellent. The food was very good from the octopus appetizers and bread service was very good. For our dinners we decided to not have steaks, I had grouper that was very good and chicken that was cooked to perfection. We will definitely return and will try one of the steaks on their menu.
