Lovely hidden gem for a fine dining experience. Unlike anyplace else in Naples! The price isn't bad considering the quality and number of plates, each served with care. The wine list is small but we really enjoyed the selections. It's in a little strip mall which seems odd at first but this is a mom and pop restaurant where the chef is a master. Go and enjoy! I have a hard time understanding some of these negative reviews. "The sushi wasn't sushi". They don't serve sushi. It may have been a tartar, but you need to know the difference. The servers were grumpy. Huh? I've been there a dozen times and never got anything but a warm smile from anyone there. Just got off a catamaran at the dock where they are located - they are nowhere near any docks. It is clear that a lot of these reviews are about other restaurants! The food, plating, setting - all Michelin quality. The chef-owner Andy Hyde is a lovely man who is very creative in the kitchen. Christmas Day 2023. My wife and I truly love fine dining. This was a prepaid preset four course meal. Quaint dining area with only eight tables that makes it feel like a private dinner. The owner is a real condescending jerk. He called a week before the reservation to confirm, called again the next day to demand credit card payment in full for the dinner. I gave him the cc information and authorized payment. When he sent the email receipt he included a 20% gratuity. I explained to him that a gratuity is in its essence a financial reward for excellent customer service and that if he were to charge me that as part of the dinner fee, not to call it a "gratuity." He responded by canceling my reservation. Personally I do not need people like that in my life. read more

While I cannot comment on the food because I haven't eaten there, I did have a very bad experience trying to eat there. First, I tried to figure out when to go for lunch as there are no hours on the website. I called and was greeted by an ai answering service that just told me they were open 24/7. I couldn't get anymore information than that as when I asked what the lunch hours were it told me that they served lunch. Fast forward to today and I was going to make a reservation for 6:30 tonight, but when I went to book it at 4:30, they had every single time slot available. I showed up at 6:15 and went in and the hostess asked if I had a reservation and I said no because they had every time slot available. She said she needed to check with the chef. There was only one table being served, every other table was open. The chef/owner came out and said he couldn't serve us because they were understaffed. When I said I could book a reservation at 6:30 or later he said I still wouldn't be served. He was very rude about it and made no effort to provide any kind of customer service. He asked us to come back another night, but from the way he behaved I don't want to give an establishment like that my money. read more

We booked this restaurant for the culinary experience. The restaurant is offering 5 courses for $100 per person. The chef Andy is advising that it might take up to 2H or more at the start of the experience and invite you to tell if you need to finish the dinner before. I would certainly recommend to tell if you do not want to cross the 2h mark. Our dinner took 3h for example. The restaurant location is really unusual and far from the mercato or 5th avenue. Definitely a little hidden gem! The chef is polite, full of energy and introduce himself at the start, as well as his experience and journey. This is welcoming. You start first with a spoon of esturgeon which is simple, fresh and delicious. The second course was a set of Oysters with an amazing sauce and secret ingredient which sound like a shot of strong liquor. This is kicking you a bit and bring the smile . The oysters were really excellent. The third course is more classic for Naples, Ceviche and Carpaccio of Tuna in large bowls. Its delicious but more common. I would have probably preferred to split the bowls into 3 small mignonettes. It would have been more fine and probably more of an experience for that course. The fourth course was risotto with a delicious sauce and a mild spicy taste. I'm not crazy of spicy but it was just mild enough to love it. I don't know how it was cooked but it was really really delicious. I finished it in 1 minute! The fifth course was salmon, perfectly cooked with amazing sauce and fennel. This is also more typical and easy to find in south west Florida but the good surprise was the skin wrapped at the top and very crispy. The salmon was a little bit heavy but very good. At this stage it was already 2h of dinner. We waited again 30 min to get the last course which is duck and quail. Again very very well prepared and presented. I finished it quickly again with a good glass of wine. The Overall, we finished with an expected check of $250. It's expensive for a restaurant but here we are speaking of an experience more than just a traditional restaurant. wine was really good and the glass is generous and well priced at $14. I felt being back a bit in New York or France with a Michelin experience. The level is not "yet" at a 1-star Michelin, but very very close. The taste has a lot of mixed cultural flavor from Ghana, Los Angeles and obviously Europe/Germany/France. I think it's worth to contribute to keep this type of cuisine in Naples and hopefully soon the location will better with a bigger space. I would recommend to make the service under 2H/2h30 as possible. Revisit the Ceviche presentation. Overall, I loved the experience, definitely unique. We need more of that in the area! I've been to several tasting reaturants and if this place could serve within 90 minutes, guests would be blown away. The food is incredible. I'm not sure if to start with the food or the entire experience! By far my favorite chef in all of Florida! I have been to many restaurants in Naples where the chef has blown my mind with the food and presentation such as Sails, The Cave, C Level but Hyde and Chic is on another platform of its own. The food is sensual, with intimate chef inspired dishes. The restaurant was reserved just for us... the chef "Andy" advised us if we wanted to pick from the four course menu or have him prepare his own creative take, " a bespoke dining experience." As a foodie, those are magic words and we decided to take the plunge. The chef asked us a few questions;food allergies and heat. He felt " our vibe" and the art began! He set the tone in the restaurant to sexy Afro beats with incense. It literally changed the environment and heightened our senses in this food experience. It was absolutely spectacular, he was attentive, read our body language and expressed himself through his dishes. He paired each dish with a delightful wine of his choosing. I was hesitant at first but he asked me to trust him, so I did and he was right. The dishes were completely tailored to us without even saying... from oysters, to octopus , duck to short ribs..... the amount of orgasmic moments my mouth and body were feeling from every bite was beyond belief. It was a fascinating experience! I would have given it a lower score but the food was good. However, the waiter we experienced was such a rude, nasty person that the entire evening was ruined. This was our second time there and although the wait staff was not the most cheerful we ever experienced, the service was not a problem. However, we have friends who dined there in February and told us an unbelievable story about getting into a confrontation with a waiter there who actually challenged the husband to go to the parking lot to fight. On our recent visit, we brought 2 friends who had never been there. We had just gotten off of a catamaran excursion from the dock that the restaurant is located on. My wife wanted to order a pizza but the one she wanted had "red pepper" in the description. We asked if this meant dried red pepper flakes or strips of red pepper. He said they were strips and my wife asked if she could order that pizza but without the red pepper. He said she could so she did. When the pizza arrived, it was clear that it was the wrong pizza. It had sausage on it and the pizza she ordered did not have sausage in the description. The two women servers who brought the food were lovely and accommodating. They said they could get my wife the pizza she wanted in 10 minutes, which was fine with us. They walked away and suddenly the waiter came briskly back to the table to tell us that WE were wrong and that my wife screwed up the order and that he did nothing wrong. Understand this, the situation was over with and solved until this jerk came barging back to the table. He was scowling and raising his voice to talk over my wife & I telling him what had happened. He said the pizza she ordered didn't have red pepper on it. So, I asked him for a menu. He brought the menue, I turned the page to the pizza and pointed right at the description that said "red pepper." He then said that wasn't the pizza she ordered, getting more vehement and rude. At that point, I told him to watch his tone of voice when he spoke to me and he told me to SHUT UP while mimicking a talking motion with his hand! Unreal, disgraceful behavior like this should never happen! My guess is that this is the same waiter who our fiends had trouble with. The question then becomes why is he allowed to continue interacting with customers? And if it's not him, the question becomes why are there more than one nasty, rude waiters on that staff? I never in my life have not given a tip before but this was the first. I feel bad that the other servers who work there and may share the tip money were financially hurt but behavior like this needs to be highlighted with action that makes a point. As a final note, another man who is on staff (I'm guessing he's a manager) came to the table several times to apologize and calm the situation which was a good move. It's in a small side street strip mall but they have done a great job of making the interior a classy environment. The Chef did greet us and had a quick chat. I would add weights to the curtain to stop it blowing in when someone enters or leaves the restaurant but this is minor and did not detract from the evening. The shrimp appetizer and the mushroom strudel tastes great and were well presented. The strudel could have been hotter and the pastry crispier but still very good. The sea bass was excellent. My wife had the octopus and it was exceptional perfectly tender with good char and a little crispy in places. The lamb rack was cooked as ordered and the red cabbage with demi glaze made up for the quality of the rack to the point I would order a it again. This young chef has been through the ringer opening his dream restaurant the fall that COVID hit. Then to reopen after hurricane Ian. It's amazing that he is still here. Please give his remarkable chef and his wine tasting dinner a try. My husband and I are foodies. While there's no shortage of excellent eats in Naples, this is exceptional. I have been to several Michelin star restaurants; Hyde & Chic can hold its own. Chef Hyde has an incredible palate and each course is better than the next. We had German brown bread grilled with truffle butter, Oysters from Barnstable, MA, with a green apple champagne mignonette, turmeric squash soup with a grilled, pesto prawn, hamachi crudo on an avocado parsley schmear and ginger coulee. Black grouper with red pepper sauce with celeriac and fennel and black olives. Celeriac, goose liver and quail. Finally filet mignon, lamb lollipop and mushroom demi glaze. For dessert a little chocolate Honestly, my descriptions cannot do the food justice. It's way better than it sounds. The only drawback of this amazing dinner was the location. It's in a strip mall next to a 24 hour laundromat. If you can focus on the flavors on your plate and overlook the neighbors you won't be disappointed. My husband and I booked this relatively new restaurant at the recommendation of friends. We went with the date night tasting menu and deferred to the chef to lead us through the culinary experience and we were not disappointed! The restaurant itself is humble and unassuming; not exactly a "hole in the wall" but not fancy either. The walls are painted black with splashes of metallic hues and the parts of the kitchen exposed to diners are not exactly designed to be a focal point (I.e, You can see the social media manager taking close-up shots of your dishes for insta content). It's not super clear from the decor or from the name of the restaurant what type of food to expect, but after reading about some of the accolades the chef has won and googling his back story while waiting for my food, it became clear that I would expect some sort of euro African fusion fare. And indeed we did! I couldn't really tell what we had bc most of it was off-menu, but the hamachi crudo and the grouper were both incredible. I walked out of this dining experience fully satisfied with the food. We are foodies and this was a foodie dream. Minor point: I wish the server had offered me Aqua Panna when I selected sparkling water instead of defaulting to Pellegrino. However, the service was basic and aside from a quick hello from the chef, there was nothing more. As someone who appreciates the backstory of a restaurant and its chef, likes to learn the history and origin of my wine and my food...and as someone who also takes the time to write reviews, I was disappointed not to have been offered this minimal attention. We saw the chef visiting other tables and had read previous rave reviews citing the chef's personal attention. Perhaps this was an unreasonable expectation? Maybe it was a busy night? Anyway, it felt a little strange walking ourselves out after paying the bill with no acknowledgment especially given how intimate the restaurant was and how long the meal took. Hyde and Chic was the most exciting restaurant we have been to this year. Chef Andy created an epic menu of fun gastronomically approachable and delectable menu items. The excitement of the menu descriptions is only topped by the actual flavors. The menu is set so you can order 3.4,5,6,12 courses etc. I did 7 courses and it was the perfect amount of food. The menu seems to change often so I won't comment on all of the items we had individually but the presentation of the oysters was very "alinea 'esque". The foie gras was also delicious. The favorites however by everyone at our table were literally all of the deserts. Chef Andy even took time to come out to every table in the dining room when we were there. This was an absolutely HORRIBLE restaurant experience! We went for a Birthday Dinner at 6PM with six guests. We had balloons, champagne and took up pretty much half of this tiny little strip mall restaurant attached to a smelly laundromat... We had three courses which took nearly 3 1/2 hours and were suddenly told we needed to "keep it down!" We were literally giggling, we knew the table next to us and they were laughing as well. Suddenly, EVERYTHING changed. Our service STOPPED, the chef/owner came out and yelled "You need to be quiet for the other guests!" Well, we shut up and cancelled the rest of our dinner and will NEVER be back! Too may fine dining options in this little town to think you are able to treat locals like this! By the end of the meal, we thought we were being punked. We picked Hyde and chic for our Valentine's dinner date because of the rave reviews we saw everywhere! We are foodies and willing to spend a little more for a unique experience with good food. We checked the menu online and were prepared for the cost and hopefully good food! We arrived at Hyde and chic willing to forgive the eccentric location (next to a pet groomer and laundromat) as well as the dirty floors and dirty open kitchen. Again, hopeful the food and experience would make up for it. When we were finally seated just outside the kitchen, we realized the menu was different for Valentine's Day (different meals and more expensive) but still adjusted assuming this is normal for a holiday. Also notable, none of the staff, save the chef, were the persons pictured on the website. We placed our orders and after a long time, something completely different came out. Our plates were plopped in front of us without explanation and staff walked off. We asked a staff member standing nearby to tell us what we were eating and she didn't know. Our waited returned and explained that the chef didn't agree with my husband's order, so gave him something different and mine was my second course instead of first so I would match him. Both dishes lacked flavor, and we still have no idea what we ate. We thought it was odd, but willing to accept the eccentricities that sometimes accompany fine dining and art. The second course came, and again it wasn't explained. My husband received a duplicate of my first course and I received a mushroom pastry of some sort with a cream sauce topped with a marinated piece of frisée. It was fine, but we started to suspect that things were amiss. The food wasn't good, the chef was drinking heavily, he kept walking around giving everyone large glasses of sparkling wine, and the hip hop music was growing louder. Third course presented me with a small bowl of mushroom risotto and my husband with the same risotto (although the waiter claimed we i completely reinvented risotto as a vegetarian) with a small piece of undercooked sea bass. The server stopped and noted I don't care for mushrooms, then took my plate. Another server came and took our half drunk glasses of wine (from a bottle we ordered apart from the sparkling wine), then returned them after walking to the dishwashing station and realizing they were still half full. I took this opportunity to use the restroom. When I stood, a server said "we will be right with you for your check." I told him I was just going to find the restroom, and he said "oh I thought you were going to leave without paying." The restroom had urine on the seat and floor and lacked paper towels or a hand dryer. And then, the lights went down. "Go shorty, it's your birthday" began thudding from the Bluetooth speaker behind my head. The chef came out of the kitchen to booty dance on the guests at the table in front of us with a slice of red velvet cake. After the lights came up, the music did not decrease in either volume or genre, and we were presented with the chef's surprise dessert: a slice of his mother's red velvet cake and storebought thumbprint and sprinkles sugar cookies. By this time my husband and I were laughing at how ludicrous the night had been, but sobered up when we were presented with a bill for $282. After a bare minimum 15% tip (something we NEVER leave, especially since covid has hit the industry hard) we spent $320 to have none of the food we ordered, ate, or liked and a laughably bad experience. We drove straight to another, less expensive restaurant for a real dinner, we were so hungry. read more

Let me first start out by saying that I just am not a fan of Florida. I've never had a "good time" whenever I've gone. I am never excited to go. So, this winter when I traveled to Naples for winter vacation to my in-laws, the only thing I was really looking forward to was being able to golf. One night my wife convinced me to take her out to dinner while the in-laws watched our daughter. It was some place she had found online, and like a good husband I said yes. When we got to the address, I looked at her and thought, "You've got to be kidding me, right?". Needless to say, it is in a tiny strip mall, next to a dingy laundromat. I had to laugh. Once we opened the door my impression quickly changed. I'm not a fan of the classical "fancy" restaurants. I will say, I don't like feeling like I have to get dressed up to go spend my own money that I work hard for to eat overrated food that I didn't want in the first place, to put it mildly... I immediately felt right at home (even though my wife DID make me dress up). It was such a laid-back atmosphere - with eclectic artwork, "new age" fancy décor if you will, and hands down the best service I have ever had. The food was off the charts. I have to tell you, unless you have an allergy or really dislike a certain food, let Chef Hyde choose the courses. He will not disappoint. We went here knowing nothing about the restaurant or Chef Hyde. We left knowing that every time we are in the general area, we will be coming back. We will bring everyone we know here. Words cannot describe the hospitality we encountered. First off, Chef Hype is the ultimate host. I've never had a Chef be so hands on, at your table, conversing with you, talking personally with you, offering off the menu items. He was so personable. His story was amazing, and completely true. He is proud of what he does, and proud of what he has worked for his entire life. On top of that, he works with younger kids to get them in to the food industry. SHOUTOUT JOHNNY BOY! YOU THE REALEST! I recommend Hyde and Chic to everyone. Whether you are looking for a high-class dinner with family or business partners, or just an easy relaxing night with some friends - Hyde and Chic is a must. These two were unbelievable. A couple with amazing chemistry that radiates through their restaurant and their food. I could not have asked for a better time. Wow! Exceptional! Amazing! Those words describe our time at Hyde n Chic! We're from California and took my lovely in laws out to dinner and there was not one dish that was just great - Every dish we had was Phenomenal and the customer service was amazing!! We've been to many 5star places all over the country from SF, NY, LA, MIAMI, and all over Europe and Chef Andy is on one the top of places I've ever dined at. Chef Andy came out to greet us- he was so friendly and our waiter couldn't have been more friendly and engaged with us as well! This place is clearly a diamond and we can't wait to be back again! Very expensive for over cooked and under seasoned food. Service was painfully slow. The vibe was good but tables are oddly large. And the fifth course of a five course tasting menu was a small pour of wine (which we didn't need or want). Won't be going back. read more

If you're looking for an elevated dining experience, I highly recommend Hyde N Chic. My husband and I were searching for a fun date night location and decided to try Hyde N Chic, which was an incredible experience. The owner/chef, Andy Hyde, is BEYOND talented -- honestly the best dinner we've had here in Naples. The menu options are creative and the food is beautifully presented and prepared. This is a "full evening" experience because each dish is prepared to order, but the break between dishes is nice. read more
