Wont be back after tonight! Service was very disappointing! I don't know if Claire was the only server working but nothing we t right tonight. Seated quickly for our reservation time. 5 empty tables for 4, told to take our pick. Told there were not enough menus but we would get them soon. No coolers left for our bottle of wine. Didn't hear about the specials. Finally picked soup on the specials only to be told they didn't have it. Was told we would get another glass poured from our bottle of wine....forgotten in the refrigerator and asked 3 times. Was told we would get a box for leftovers and never did. My wife have been going to the restaurant for years and last evening was another delicious dinner. Before I explain the food I wanted to mention something I had not noticed before and that is the acoustics. This restaurant is small and you can actually have a conversation without yelling. Most restaurant's on 5th Avenue downtown are super noisy but not cafe Normandy. We started with the artichoke salad which is fantastic and I highly recommend. It is large enough to split simply ask for an additional artichoke. Last evening I tried the chicken for the first time and it was Devine. Mushrooms and chicken in a cream sauce topped with bread crumbs. Yum only issue was it comes out hot so I needed to let it cool down. Much better than cold food. I have been here at least 3 times over the last year and a half. Always the experience is good, but, sometimes it is better. The duck that us usually very good was over done this time, very dry. The vegetables were loaded with garlic. I returned them and a new order came out without the garlic. The scalloped potatoes that are usually delicious had less cheese and did not have a crispy top. The bouillabaisse was delicious. The dessert choice for the $49 prix fixe was ice cream, chocolate mousse , or crem brulee. To me this is all desserts for the toothless or as I call nursing home food. Should be better offers for the prix fixe. Do not know if I will return. read more

Had my first wedding dress fitting nextdoor and we couldn't wait to have lunch here! Loved the lunch special of the 2 or 3 course special. I had the 3 course special. With the French onion soup, shrimp as my entree and they count the wine as the 3rd course, yes please you can had dessert for $4. My mom and split the wonderful crème brûlée! My parents enjoyed their lunch. And of course we had to start with the escargot ... so well deserved for standing still while they pinned my dress :-) Can't wait to come back in August! Wow. What a great French cuisine experience! We had a party of 5 and had heard good things about Café Normandie. We made a reservation by calling the restaurant and we're seated quickly after arrival. A couple of different servers took care of us and they were awesome and super attentive. They have a great wine list that includes many French selections at very reasonable prices. The menu consists of a lot of French favorites. We ordered an appetizer and also an order of the Crevettes so that we could all share it. The Crevettes are spectacular - I highly recommend as a meal. My son was really hoping to have Dover Sole, and it was there. That dish is absolutely fantastic and prepared table-side. Everything we ordered, from the French onion soup, to the fillet, to the fish dishes were all delicious. There are many French food options in Naples but Cafe Normandie stands out. We had a phenomenal dining experience here. From the professionalism and hospitality of the servers, to the authenticity, flavor, and preparation of our meal, it was really enjoyable. This was actually the first time we had a French meal together, my last was in Paris! And Bo's first time. We started with their homemade soups, I had the Cream of Leek, such great flavor and consistency. Bo enjoyed the French Onion with pungent cheese and well prepared broth. We LOVED their unique artichoke salad, with fresh goat cheese, arugula, olives, and pesto. Fantastic. I went with the classic duck al orange and so happy I went old school, perfectly cooked duck and incredibly flavorful sauce. The veggies and potatoes au gratin were melt in your mouth. Found food to be relatively good, although have had much better and portions were very small comparatively to other restaurants where we had the same. Quiche was small round and when asked"do you want salad with it" assumed that was part of the dish( didn't realize till later the small bit of lettuce with one cherry tomato was $3.00. The bowl of Onion Soup was the size of a cup at the many other restaurants I have ordered. Found it to be not worth $10. What went well...everything! A friend and I popped in around lunchtime and readily found a seat. A sign by the door instructed to take a menu and order at the counter. So nice to have plenty of time to look over the menu to make our selections. We were warmly greeted and while ordering, our table was set with napkins and flatware. A personable young man quickly arrived with our beverages of choice. The croissant on my sandwich was buttery, flaky and beyond delicious. A fresh side salad complemented the sandwich for only three dollars extra. The staff members were friendly and efficient. All in all a delightful experience. read more

I've been in Florida for months now, and sometimes I just really miss New York. I find that I miss New York the most around, well, meal times. The food in Naples is OK. There are a few restaurants that I think make quality food, but 90% of these places wouldn't hack it a week in the Big Apple. And that is the crux of the issue, right? Naples is expensive and you aren't usually getting your money's worth at dinner. Also, you want to "vote with your dollar", to let the truly great places stay open. So, with that said, onto the review: We booked a reservation at Cafe Normandie on a whim and didn't know what to expect. The first thing we noticed is how impeccably clean this place is? No, seriously. It is very well-kept, which is a sign that the staff cares. Our server was very helpful and thoughtful with her recommendations; she helped us select a bottle of wine that we really enjoyed. We ordered escargot and French onion soup as appetizers and the beef bourguignon and the crevettes & st-jacques gratin as entrees. As our plates were being taken away, my partner asked if we finally found a place that rivals the restaurants in New York?! The first place this reminded me of was not New York. In fact, it most reminded me of one of my favorite places in Paris. Yes - it's that good. A further non-food note, but over time, I have realized the importance of patronizing places that have (most importantly) amazing food, but ALSO fantastic staffs. Do I really want to give nasty people my money? No, I don't. I can attest to the fact that the staff here really cares. At the end of the night (around closing) I had a question about a French cookie that I've been trying to bake, and the chef himself came out to talk to me about it. If you aren't convinced, I don't know what to tell you. Please stop going to the overpriced places (you know the ones) with mediocre food and indifferent staff. Adorable & welcoming French restaurant. We enjoyed delicious food with thoughtfully selected ingredients in an un-rushed atmosphere. We ordered escargot, goat cheese and beet salad, scallop & shrimp au gratin and perfectly prepared red snapper. We left feeling satisfied, satiated and not over stuffed. We started with a slice of homemade country pate which transported us to a French country inn. Next came the appetizer course. Among the three of us, we had an escargot, a special artichoke salad avec pesto and prosciutto and a salad lyonnaise. My artichoke salad was a bit sloppy but tasty. Too many elements in one plate--olives, warm artichoke leaves, goat cheese, onions,etc. Decent escargot. On to the mains: delicious! Special venison cooked perfectly. Sides for all main were a potatoes au gratin and mixed melange of veggies with garlic. Delicious chicken with perfect crispy skin. All in all a delicious, nicely served French meal. read more

It was our first time at Cafe Normandie, what a memorable experience. First we were greeted bye the owner herself and that started an amazing evening. Our appetizers, French onion soup and the Normandie Pate. Both incredibly delicious. The soup was fresh, gooey and very tasty. The pate was just delectable with the mustard, greens and accompaniments. Our mains, the Red Snapper Normandie as well as the Scallops were both delicious and plentiful. The snapper, skin nice and crisp, the accompaniments were plentiful and flavorful. The scallops were seared to perfection and layered with an amazing sauce. To finalize the experience we had the mousse de chocolate and a hazelnut dessert both were the perfect end to a great meal. We will definitely return as the food was epic and the experience even better. The chef, owner and staff were all very attentive and friendly. read more

I went to Café Normandie because all other restaurants were closed. I came back from New York where we did a lot of amazing French Michelin restaurants and we thought it was maybe not the good timing for another French restaurant. Plus I'm French so I'm always criticizing French food. Well we were happily surprised. The owner is NEW. From the south of France . The wine Côte du Rhône was excellent and almost very very well priced by the glass. The escargots looks good and are very well prepared, probably some of the best of Naples. I was telling my partner in crime we didn't have to go to the New York best French restaurant to enjoy good French "home made" food. Speaking with the owner, Anthony, I realized he worked in the French restaurant we just tested: Daniel, by Daniel Boulud. At Cafe Normandie, I can tell you that Anthony is not looking to make the best presentation of the plates because he is a "Traditional", he is also not charging you "extra" because he cooks well. The beef bourguignon with the gratin is amazing and very traditional, sounds like the one my grand mother was cooking for me, just delicious, you can't make it better. The foie gras is fat and very generous, glad to see it. Overall, very good table, very traditional and on top of that the chef/owner and his wife are amazing, they stop, they take the time to speak to you and they are cool. I will come back multiple times, to share a Ricard or a good wine with the owner. There is this French touch, that I miss everywhere else. The only thing is the bread, I would like one more crispy and warm, the current one looks white and a bit anemic, but it's a personal view. As a Yelp Elite, I deeply recommend this restaurant for a very traditional French dinner well priced. If they continue to keep the price low during the inflation, they might become more than popular! read more

A solid bistro experience at an honest price (not a given in Naples). I had the cassoulet, a special for the night, and it was good though not up to some of the other Toulouse style cassoulets I've had (this was soupier rather than thick and the duck confit and sausage we also "good" rather than great). The salade de chèvre chaud was also nice; kinda wish I'd tried the escargots. In my view, an establishment's wine list is an x-ray of character and Cafe Normandie passes this test with flying colors: good choices at good prices. A caveat to my own review: this was my first and only visit! But I will return. read more

Had a light lunch outside with a welcoming waitress. Leek which was the special and was well complemented by the Pinot Grigio recommended. A good tasting salad accented the quiche. This "French" cafe was a disappointment on almost every level. We were looking very much forward to having a special experience on Christmas Eve we booked a reservation for their Prix fixe celebration. Ambiance: loud, over crowded, clanging of everything, linens not changed for every seating, the lighting was too bright and commercial, chairs uncomfortable. However over all it was a clean establishment. All in all this is NOT how a FRENCH restaurant/cafe operates. We have travelled in France and Luxembourg we know. FOOD and Service : Was all obviously prepared 3 days in advance. + too expensive for the low quality. Also no warnings about nuts in the food. The beef Wellington wasn't prepared in the French way which should be with Pâté on the meat then wrapped in a gentle pastry. What was served was beef Wellington with thick layer of walnuts under the pastry - this is the British recipe. When we told our server this we were treated as if it was our fault that we didn't ask if there was nuts in their food. Arrogance was the only thing in this restaurant that was classic Parisienne French. Nut allergies are common and YES absolutely needs to be noted on menu items and servers must ask if there are any allergies amongst the guests. Let's be very clear it is not incumbent on guest to police this. . On top of the beef Wellington nut fiasco it was very obvious it was prepared and cooked at least 3 days in advance using a low quality grade beef (triple Aaa it wasn't) then reheated possibly in a microwave. The pastry was gooey and the meat was as hard as a stone as soon as it cooled down. When it gets so hard and dry, is what happens when you reheat in a microwave. The Duck a l'orange was inedible. I could have used the legs to beat a drum. They were bone dry, that I bent their cheap fork on. For a total bill of $250 USD (we only had one glass of wine each) We could have eaten far better at a Michelin Star restaurant in Montreal , Boston , NYC or in Toronto and had a far better experience with ambience. This place is not anything near French nor quality. Don't waste your money here. Giving it 2 stars is very generous only because of their punctuality and it was clean enough. read more

My wife and I just moved into the area. In fact, our furniture just arrived today and we were excited to try this place that was strongly recommended to us by family in the area. We worked all day and thought"let's find a French place to be enjoy a great meal." After spending a lot of time in Paris we got to really enjoy Parisian food. Unfortunately, the service was just unacceptable. Sandie, our waitress--assuming good intent--was just really distracted. The waitress started by asking if we wanted wine--we don't drink, but figured we'd order another beverage with dinner. Then she just left the table. Cocktails? Nope, we never got a chance to order alternatives. Odd? We thought so. We ordered the escargot, two bowls of opinion soup, the frog legs and the duck. The escargot presentation left something to be desired. It was also missing a refined flavor. The onion soup was excellent, the cheese was perfectly done and the base was cooked with intension. The frog legs were okay, though quite oily, and therefore not to desirable to consume. However, the duck was severely over cooked. Looping back to the service, the waitress never came back to ask if everything was cooked okay or if we needed anything else--overall just an awkward experience. Short version, if you enjoy Parisian cruise and you're thinking of France, you won't get the service or food quality here. read more

Our group of 8 dined at Cafe Normandie, Naples FL on 6/4/25. We were really disappointed with food and, especially, with service. Some people have ordered pre-fix dinners, some went with a-la-cart. There were several different pre-fix dinners on the menu. Specifically, one with filet mignon as a main dish ($59.99) and the other was with fish ($39.99). Two pre-fix dinners with filet mignon were unacceptable, the meat was super tough, not even possible to cut with steak knife. Both of our guests returned the filet and asked to replace the dishes with fish. In a minute we had angry Chef at our table. He was quite rude while explaining that we could not expect the same quality of meat in pre-fix dinner. No apology or regret, of course. Well, filet mignon, in our view should have the quality of this cut, if it has this name no matter what part of menu it is coming from. But it went from bad to worse. So, finally our guests got fish instead of filet mignon. To our surprise, when we received the bill, we were still charged for two dinners with filet mignon instead of fish ($20 more expensive than the fish we have received). When we brought up the discrepancy to waitress and management, we were told that the meat was "edible" (whatever it means) and we should appreciate that we were not charged for the replacement additionally. We were not in the mood to argue and paid the bill with extra charges for the food we could not eat. Totally unacceptable experience. read more

We had late lunch/early dinner on Thanksgiving. It was great! All 3 of us ordered from the Chef's prix fix menu. Two chose French onion soup p gratings. Delicious. One chose the baked brie. A little light on the brie,but tasty nonetheless. Two chose the fish - branzino and snapper with Normandie creme sauce. Another home run! The other chose the duck a la orange. Tasty, but not a home run. Two creme brulee and an coupe ice cream we're an excellent t choice for dessert. The Sancerre wine was top notch and the perfect complement to the meal. Four years later and this place is just as good, if not better, than it was the first time I visited. The restaurant recently updated its interior and has more comfortable chairs, but the overall atmosphere is just as charming and quaint as before the remodel. No matter how hot it is outside, you must start with their version of French Onion Soup. It is perfect. It is not the Americanized version, with a block of cheese melted on top of a bowl-sized crouton over salty broth, but rather mini crostinis floating in a flavorful onion broth with fresh cheese placed to lightly melt on top. It is so amazing that you will kick yourself if you do not order it. For my meal this time I tried the Salade Monte Carlo, which was fresh lettuce, tomato, avocado, smoked salmon and mango, all tossed in their house dressing. Delicious! The dressing seemed to have a bit of horseradish in it which was a surprising addition, and gave the salad a little extra zing. The meal was served with a fresh warm baguette, which was just the icing on the perfect cake. I highly recommend a stop here on your next trip to Naples. read more

We started with the pate which was excellent and then we had a cheese course. I had the duck she had the chicken with mushrooms. One of those occasions where you want to like something but service was so bad that you can't. Came with a group of 6 so I am understanding when things can take awhile, but that wasn't even the issue, simple things that we asked for like water, bread while we wait took forever. I think the part that made it worse was when one of the servers who took the order stated the crepes could be made with less or no béchamel sauce and a different waitress who brought out the food and crepes covered in the sauce said they could not do it. Then while already starting to eat the crepe full of sauce another crepe came out (none of our food came out together) and was without the sauce. Just a disappointing experience overall. read more

We have been coming here for a while and had another great lunch. Service was timely and very friendly. We had the cream of cauliflower soup and oinion soup; both were very good. They still import their baguette dough from France and it shows. My wife had the brie sandwich on their nice and crusty baguette and I had the salad Nicoise. The salad came with huge chunks of seared tuna. We finished with a great chocolate mouse which was exactly as a mouse should be, both airy and full of chocolate flavor which melted in your mouth. My wife enjoyed her cappuccino and I enjoyed my espresso. We are going to come for dinner soon. read more

Cute and quaint little restaurant off of 41 in Naples. There seems to be hardly any parking in the front but plenty on the side and in the back. I had the Monte Carlo Salas which had smoked salmon, mango and avocado on top of chopped lettuce and tossed in their homemade vinaigrette. Great balance on different flavors!!!
