Shrimps In Champagne and Leek Sauce

Had my first wedding dress fitting nextdoor and we couldn't wait to have lunch here! Loved the lunch special of the 2 or 3 course special. I had the 3 course special. With the French onion soup, shrimp as my entree and they count the wine as the 3rd course, yes please you can had dessert for $4. My mom and split the wonderful crème brûlée! My parents enjoyed their lunch. And of course we had to start with the escargot ... so well deserved for standing still while they pinned my dress :-) Can't wait to come back in August! I'll get the champagne to toast for the final fitting! Service was good. My mom booked lunch reservations. But we didn't need them as we were informed when we walked in.

Filet de Boeuf Sauce au Poivre was tender and delicious.

Wow. What a great French cuisine experience! We had a party of 5 and had heard good things about Café Normandie. We made a reservation by calling the restaurant and we're seated quickly after arrival. A couple of different servers took care of us and they were awesome and super attentive. They have a great wine list that includes many French selections at very reasonable prices. The menu consists of a lot of French favorites. We ordered an appetizer and also an order of the Crevettes so that we could all share it. The Crevettes are spectacular - I highly recommend as a meal. My son was really hoping to have Dover Sole, and it was there. That dish is absolutely fantastic and prepared table-side. Everything we ordered, from the French onion soup, to the fillet, to the fish dishes were all delicious. There are many French food options in Naples but Cafe Normandie stands out. It is a small restaurant but definitely worth a visit.

We had a phenomenal dining experience here. From the professionalism and hospitality of the servers, to the authenticity, flavor, and preparation of our meal, it was really enjoyable. This was actually the first time we had a French meal together, my last was in Paris! And Bo's first time. We started with their homemade soups, I had the Cream of Leek, such great flavor and consistency. Bo enjoyed the French Onion with pungent cheese and well prepared broth. We LOVED their unique artichoke salad, with fresh goat cheese, arugula, olives, and pesto. Fantastic. I went with the classic duck al orange and so happy I went old school, perfectly cooked duck and incredibly flavorful sauce. The veggies and potatoes au gratin were melt in your mouth. We loved the mousse de chocolat but would skip the crème brûlée next time. The espresso was a great way to cap off the evening. We'll be back!!!

    The duck!

I went here for my birthday with my dad. It was amazing! The service was phenomenal and the servers were very personable. We both had the duck and I ordered the escargot. It was a great experience and reminded me of actually being in a French bistro

I've been in Florida for months now, and sometimes I just really miss New York. I find that I miss New York the most around, well, meal times. The food in Naples is OK. There are a few restaurants that I think make quality food, but 90% of these places wouldn't hack it a week in the Big Apple. And that is the crux of the issue, right? Naples is expensive and you aren't usually getting your money's worth at dinner. Also, you want to "vote with your dollar", to let the truly great places stay open. So, with that said, onto the review: We booked a reservation at Cafe Normandie on a whim and didn't know what to expect. The first thing we noticed is how impeccably clean this place is? No, seriously. It is very well-kept, which is a sign that the staff cares. Our server was very helpful and thoughtful with her recommendations; she helped us select a bottle of wine that we really enjoyed. We ordered escargot and French onion soup as appetizers and the beef bourguignon and the crevettes & st-jacques gratin as entrees. As our plates were being taken away, my partner asked if we finally found a place that rivals the restaurants in New York?! The first place this reminded me of was not New York. In fact, it most reminded me of one of my favorite places in Paris. Yes - it's that good. A further non-food note, but over time, I have realized the importance of patronizing places that have (most importantly) amazing food, but ALSO fantastic staffs. Do I really want to give nasty people my money? No, I don't. I can attest to the fact that the staff here really cares. At the end of the night (around closing) I had a question about a French cookie that I've been trying to bake, and the chef himself came out to talk to me about it. If you aren't convinced, I don't know what to tell you. Please stop going to the overpriced places (you know the ones) with mediocre food and indifferent staff. Get yourself a nice meal for half the price and double the quality here. Thank me later.

We started with a slice of homemade country pate which transported us to a French country inn. Next came the appetizer course. Among the three of us, we had an escargot, a special artichoke salad avec pesto and prosciutto and a salad lyonnaise. My artichoke salad was a bit sloppy but tasty. Too many elements in one plate--olives, warm artichoke leaves, goat cheese, onions, etc. Decent escargot. On to the mains: delicious! Special venison cooked perfectly. Sides for all main were a potatoes au gratin and mixed melange of veggies with garlic. Delicious chicken with perfect crispy skin. All in all a delicious, nicely served French meal.

It was our first time at Cafe Normandie, what a memorable experience. First we were greeted bye the owner herself and that started an amazing evening. Our appetizers, French onion soup and the Normandie Pate. Both incredibly delicious. The soup was fresh, gooey and very tasty. The pate was just delectable with the mustard, greens and accompaniments. Our mains, the Red Snapper Normandie as well as the Scallops were both delicious and plentiful. The snapper, skin nice and crisp, the accompaniments were plentiful and flavorful. The scallops were seared to perfection and layered with an amazing sauce. To finalize the experience we had the mousse de chocolate and a hazelnut dessert both were the perfect end to a great meal. We will definitely return as the food was epic and the experience even better. The chef, owner and staff were all very attentive and friendly.

There isn't a day since then that I don't think about that evening and the great dinner we all had. It was our fourth and last dinner together, we had not been thrilled by any restaurant in the area and I decided to search for 5 star Spanish restaurants in honor of Spain win. Well it did not disappoint. In fact it exceeded all our expectations! The ambiance is striking as you walk in, it throws you off with paintings all over and tables arranged with different style chairs, some with booths and in general old style. I must say it could have been the worst evening. The hostess/waitress/daughter of the owner, Sophia offered to sit us at a mixed table (chairs/booth) . Tables had to be moved and arranged, and the setup was not working out due to multiple issues, sitting between tables and 2 booth chairs, sunlight couldn't be blocked and was bothering one side of the table, and the group was a bit uptight after a negative experience the previous day. So I spoke up and said out loud that the seating wasn't working out. We must have been making somewhat of a scene and the owner/chef, John, came out to check on us, and calm the waters. We were kindly accommodated at a different table right in the middle of the restaurant. There was only one other couple in the restaurant and as soon as they left, the restaurant was all for us! I can't say enough about the food! We started with a few tapas, we shared a paella and others ordered their own entree. Everything was so amazing that we all ended up trying everybody's food. The food had this special taste....basque/french touch from the owners culinary origins. Sophia and John, served us like kings , and handled the situation at the beginning with flying colors. Super friendly, housewarming, and professional. Do not leave before you try the Basque torta. It's like a basque cheesecake. I dream about it every day. Take another piece to go, or you will regret it like we did, when we couldn't go back for more!

We ordered the paella for four with skirt steak, white asparagus, and saffron rice. The portion size was unbelievable. Not only did it feed us dinner that night, but I enjoyed the leftovers for six meals afterward. The saffron rice was rich and flavorful, the skirt steak was tender, and the white asparagus added a nice touch that made the dish feel special. For dessert, we brought home the Basque cheesecake with fig sauce. It was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness from the fig sauce. Many people rave about the cheesecake, and after trying it myself, I understand why. It was absolutely delicious. We also picked up a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine for $25 each. Both wines paired beautifully with the food and made our takeout dinner feel a little more special. What impressed me most was how well everything traveled. The food tasted as good at home as it would have in a restaurant, and the generous portions meant we enjoyed El Basque for days. Great food, great value, and a meal that kept on giving. We'll definitely be back.

She was friendly, attentive and pleasant when we asked to move our table to one a little farther away from the greenery, where a few no-see-ums were pesky. Our water glasses were frequently topped off and it was refreshing to be able to order apps without having to order the entree at the same time. She even brought us cushions as the chairs are a bit deep. BAR: Cosmo was well made, average size, pricey at $22.50. House white was an average pour, reasonable for $12. FOOD: The chicken liver was tasty and cooked perfectly. The onion soup was just ok, $16. It was a bit bland, but the biggest issue was the size and toughness of some of the onions. They were the outer part of the onion and were larger than typical in onion soup. The cheese was flavorful. I would have preferred a half portion, as the app size is huge and soup isn't an app that is easily shared. The Boeuf Bourguignon was flavorful and tender, but again, way too much of it. The accompaniment was scallop potatoes. I'd recommend mashed to make use of the yummy gravy in the bowl. The Veggies were bright and tender, but served in a bowl so challenging to cut up. ATMOSPHERE: It is pretty seating outdoors. The piano player was a really nice touch, adding to the charm. There are no-see-ums, so if you are someone who they seem to target, I'd recommend some type of bug repellent if you are going to sit indoors.

For our main entrees, I ordered the halibut special, and my husband got the seafood risotto. Both were delicious. Though I preferred the Chilean sea bass, the halibut was cooked well (buttery, flaky, etc) and came with lighter sides than the Chilean sea bass. The risotto was creamy with lots of seafood. Very good selection of wines by the glass. Overall, we had a very good meal and a pleasant evening. Since we didn't came here for their early dining specials, the check total was a bit pricey but is within reason for a 5th avenue restaurant. We Will definitely come back again.
