The Cone is one of those creamy whips you have to hit up every summer in Cincinnati. They have every flavor and topping one could dream of. I crave the Orange and Vanilla swirl, which is amazing! We stopped in yesterday afternoon to get a treat before baseball. We don't live in the West Chester area, so when we are over that way we always try to stop in. I look forward to The Cone all year, when it's finally getting warm and it's time for frozen treats this is the first place I want to visit. They have so many amazing choices and something for everyone. My personal favorite is their soft-serve sorbet they have key-lime and blue raspberry (which we just found out can be swirled) and both are even sweeter and more delicious with a blue raspberry shell on them. While this is my preference there really is a treat for everyone with so many flavors and choices you're whole family will be happy. The Cone also has great seating as well as a drive through which you don't get with very many ice cream stands. They are always packed but their employees are really nice and helpful. Also the portions are huge a small could definitely satisfy your sweet-tooth and the medium is gigantic! I have never had a bad experience and just writing this brings back great memories of nights out and smiling faces. read more

What the heck is not to like about this place? Oh, aside from the super, super creepy bear drinking fountain... pro tip: close your eyes when exiting the interior dining space! Or at least stare fixedly to the right. Anyway, back to the main thrust of my review: delicious, delicious chocolate soft serve! Totally A++. (Glad I know what I like and what I don't, since I tasted a single bite of my brother's blue raspberry sherbet and of my mom's enormous "Small" sundae, and didn't dig either of those, but that's just personal preference.) Best ice cream ever! We live 20 mins away but whenever we're in the mood for some ice cream, we make the trip without hesitation! It always cracks me up when I see people complain about how busy they are, because it's a good thing! Obviously the ice cream is delicious or else they wouldn't always be busy! Came up here last Friday night with my dad, brother and sister after an great night of Indian. It was our first time here, and we really enjoyed it. My sister and I ordered the staple orange-vanilla twist and my brother ordered a chocolate dip top on vanilla and my dad a small cup of orange. I've lived in West Chester almost my whole life. Nothing is more of a 'staple in the community' than The Cone. I've been coming here for years. It's always very exciting when it finally opens for the season. They have something for everyone. I usually get their signature orange/vanilla twist. But everything on their menu is good. When I moved to the Fairfield area I constantly heard people talking about The Cone and how I should try it! Honestly at that point I didn't get it and I visited it and I understood what all the hype was! They have seats indoor and out, a play area where kids can have fun, and their ice cream is so good! There is a decent amount of parking, they have a drive thru, and a wide variety of cool treats! The staff is awesome too! Looking forward to Springtime when the open back up! I can see that this place is popular and can be an absolute madhouse in the summer months. There isn't a ton of parking but there is a drive through. I was here visiting and my brother brought me here for some soft serve. Overall, great. Can't go wrong with a twist with rainbow sprinkles. My family got orange and vanilla swirl which is pretty good too but I'm definitely more for classics. They have a lot of other options as well and pretty reasonable. The Cone has the best shaved ice ever!! (Although I do miss their cola and cherry cola flavors.) Their ice cream is awesome, too. We've gone there for many years, taking our children when they were younger, and later, our grandchildren, as well as many guests. I don't remember having anyone say they weren't impressed. The Cone is our favorite local dessert experience, and we enjoy seeing the Mobile Cone at various locations, including their debut at my place of employment this summer! I've been coming to the cone since I was a kid. Generally good, but after my last visit, it will be awhile before I come back. I ordered a cup of their pumpkin ice cream only to find Reese's candies mixed in. As someone with a peanut allergy this was a serious mistake, that was potentially life threatening. What can I say about The Cone that hasn't already been said? It is soft serve at its finest and a community staple. They are ALWAYS busy and with good reason. Their menu offers a huge variety, from cones to Wizards (like a DQ Blizzard but better!) to ice cream sandwiches. And about those ice cream sandwiches...oh em gee! Big as your face and addicting! And if one isn't enough you can get a 6-pack for a discounted price. I'm not kidding, it's about 2" of vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two enormous chocolate chip cookies. A building that looks like a gigantic ice cream cone? Delicious and unique flavors of soft serve? Yes and yes! I grew up near West Chester so The Cone was a popular spot for me and my friends. Now they even have a Mobile Cone that drives around to festivals, etc to serve up their deliciousness. I always love when I see it driving down the road, such a sight. The Cone is only open during the warmer months and I hope that this will one day change. I for one like ice cream year round! My favorite flavor is lime, which seems to be seasonal so I always make sure to make a trip up there when they have it. They are known for their orange and vanilla twist and it is delicious. It is creamy yet tangy. I honestly have never had a flavor of ice cream there that I didn't enjoy. Now onto the negative. The lines! Oh the lines. If the weather is nice, you're sure to wait in a long line with about a billion kids. I know this will make me sound like a curmudgeon, but I am not a fan of kids, especially in large groups. Luckily, there is a kid's play area with all kinds of fun stuff to distract them. If you're lucky when you go, the kids will be corralled into this area and will not get their sticky fingers near you. The Cone is currently a landmark in West Chester but is quickly becoming a landmark for the entire city of Cincinnati. The little dairy-whip stand is aptly named "The Cone" because of it's structure, the building is a giant sized soft-served vanilla ice-cream cone. Hugely popular among families, sports teams, and teenagers in West Chester, The Cone has been around since the summer of 1995. The most popular cone at The Cone is the famous vanilla-orange twist, which my friends and family enjoy, but I find that a chocolate dipped Zebra cone is sweetly refreshing on hot summer days (Not recommended for non-chocoholics). Banana splits, "Wizards" (Just like a Dairy Queen Blizzard but creamier), and parfait sundaes are all standouts at The Cone but the establishment also offers corn dogs and typical "stand" food which are great for quick bites on the run. The Cone opened this year on March 25th and has varied hours based on weather conditions until right around Memorial Day, by which time they are usually open from 11am-10pm. Who doesn't love a crazy shaped building? But the fame may have gone too far here, I loved the cone when it first opened and even though I live so close I could practically walk there, I rarely go. Not only is it always extremely packed, but most of their selections that I enjoy I can find at other less crowded spots. It was totally worth the 30 minute drive to eat treats from a building shaped like a giant ice cream cone. I stared at the menu in amazement. So many choices! What was good here? The twisted soft serves seemed to be the most popular. I ordered a chocolate and strawberry. Much to my surprise, my ice cream arrived in a cup, as it came out of two different spouts. I guess these two flavors aren't as popular swirled together. No worries, it was still delicious. What you can order, that comes out in swirls: - Chocolate & Vanilla - Orange & Vanilla - Strawberry & Vanilla Later, I noticed something called a dip top. I'm not sure if this is the ice cream with the coated shell, as in addition to chocolate, it came in flavors like cotton candy, lime, and blue raspberry. As far as soft serve goes, this is about the best there is in Cincinnati area. Not sure what to get? Just get any one of their standard, single flavored cones. Want to go fancy? DO NOT EAT HERE EVER! After taking my daughter to the doctor and promising ice cream, we stopped at The CONE for a treat. My little one ordered a medium strawberry ice cream in a cup and after getting ¼ of the way through calls out "mom look". I took a peak at her spoon and notice a hair that undoubtedly looks like a pubic hair. As a means of not freaking my child completely out, I calmly informed her that I will NOT be giving her ice cream back, and apologize to her for the incident. Because we live 20+ minutes away from the CONE and I needed to rush home to complete my work day, I decided to go home show my husband and call to inform the CONE leadership staff of the incident. I called and spoke to an arrogant man by the name of Keith who very early in the conversation informed me that "he doesn't know where it would have come from" (Duh, I know where, just not who). He also stated the he "has NEVER had this happen before", and very arrogantly asked me "Well what do you want me to do about it?". Additionally, he informed me that because his daughter and her best friend work at the CONE, he "knows for certain they wouldn't do anything like that". Well sir, unless you have approximately six teenage kids all around the same age, I can reasonably assume that they are not all biologically yours. That being said, it is quite ignorant of you to assume that "your employees" are not capable of doing something less than hygienic and quite frankly disgusting. I am not one for posting reviews online, but because I am the parent of small children, I strongly recommend that you DO NOT EAT ANYTHING from the CONE. This was disgusting (Pictures provided for proof!) and if you complain the manager/owner will arrogantly deny the issue. The Cone was yet another long road trip on our family whippy dip tour this summer. The Cone gets major creativity points all around. First for the building, which is shaped like a giant ice cream cone, and second, for their great selection. They have multiple flavors of soft serve, including twist flavors like orange and strawberry with vanilla. The kids loved these, and the bites that I managed to steal from them were really good. The flavors were not at all artificial tasting like some other places! They also have a ton of options for different sundaes and "wizzards" (The Cone's version of a mix-in treat). My husband and I both have tried a few of the wizzards and sundaes, and The Cone is especially generous with toppings. Given the serving sizes, the prices here are reasonable. The only reason The Cone doesn't get 5-stars is because of the effort involved. First, they are located just off a major intersection at Tylersville and Cincinnati-Dayton Roads. This makes pulling in and out a bit dicey. If you go, be careful! Also, having stopped a few times this summer, we learned that The Cone gets extremely busy on warm, weekend nights. Perhaps busier than any other ice cream place that we visited. Despite having a walk-up window and drive-thru window, getting served here sometimes takes a while. The drive-thru line curves and turns in a somewhat elaborate and confusing way through neighboring parking lots, and one evening, it took nearly an hour for us to get through it. A bit of a pain with impatient kids! The Cone has really good ice cream, but given the drive and the wait, I can't help but question whether it is really worth the adventure. read more

My favorite is their famous orange vanilla swirl soft serve covered with rainbow sprinkles (why yes, I am a 5 year old). They offer a variety of other flavors along with dipping choices, as well as shaved ice, blizzards, sundaes, etc. As the years have passed, The Cone has expanded their parking (thank goodness) and their seating, and there is also a mobile Cone that travels to area festivals.
