Flub's is the perfect summer ice cream stop. I am so sad I didn't get a cyclone (I didn't know about them and didn't see them on the menu until after we got our order) but the classic cone was great. I got the crunch coating that comes with rainbow sprinkles and crushed peanuts and it was awesome. Wish there was one closer, but it is worth the trip. Great and quick service as well. read more

Flub's is a good place for ice cream and cold treats. It was popular enough that they opened another location in Fairfield. This is much nicer than the original store. It has an indoor counter. They have ice cream and lots of other stuff. It's the better of the two locations. It makes ice cream pies. These definitely look better than Dairy Queen. It has an inside area. There still isn't any seating, but there's some benches in the plaza. It's most popular item of course is ice cream. They aren't limited to this however. I had a blue raspberry slushie. This is about $2 for the medium size. It had a tart flavor. Wonder if the rest of them are like that. Fair prices for most items. It's clean inside. Too bad there's no indoor seating. read more

It's Flub's a Hamilton/Fairfield/Ross staple how can you not love it. With a list big enough to cover a wall with cyclone options (#27 is phenomenal) and an out of this world peanut butter shake and ice cream pies you can take home to share or not (the Oreo cheesecake pie and the Reece's pie, yum) The Fairfield location is a Dari-ette, there is no seating. Flub's- such a tradition! I've been going here with my grandparents for years! They have lived in Fairfield my whole life and we always make it a point to get Flub's after we head out to eat somewhere. My grandpa likes to get a strawberry shake, my grandma usually gets some soft serve in a cup, but I prefer the cyclones, which I feel like are what Flub's is best known for. Similar to DQ Blizzards, you can dream up any type of concoction of goodies to go in a cyclone. They have 30+ creations of their own, but many times, I've asked them to sub something or add something else and they are always very accommodating. My favorites are the Reese one and the one with Oreos and Cheesecake bites! As much as I love the tradition of a post-dinner Flub's stop, there are a few things they can improve on: First off, the candy/mix-ins that are in the cyclone are pretty much just on top. They don't do a good job of mixing it all together like DQ does. Most cyclones I've gotten are just straight ice cream once you're halfway done. Also, the past two times I've gone the spoons are HORRIBLE! They have to be the cheapest plastic spoons ever created. It did not used to be like that. But it's just ice cream you're trying to scoop up and the spoon bends like all the way backwards. They need more durable plastic spoons in there. And lastly, I am disappointed that they are only open a few months out of the year (April-Sept I think). I am sure the cost of staying open outweighs sales, but it's a bummer for sure! All in all, head to Flub's for a sweet treat if in Fairfield during the summer time. It's always a classic! read more

Who doesn't love ice cream on a hot summer evening? I've been to this particular location as well as the more busier location in Hamilton! Great place to go with friends/family. Prices are very fair. So many delicious options to select from their menu. You can never go wrong with a Cyclone. I always get a small but its still a good size. It's pretty much like a blizzard from Dairy Queen. I love the Ted's S'mores-- Vanilla Creamy Whip cycloned with Marshmallow Topping, Graham Cracker Pieces, and Chocolate Dip-Top. Then, it's layered with more of the same and topped off with Whip Cream. You won't be disappointed--check it out before they close for the summer! read more

Came here the other night to get a cyclone which is what Flubs is known for . It was busy with a line out the door, but it moved fast. Highschool students were working the counter and moved very efficiently. I ordered the number 5 and it was good, but when compared to the Cone it didn't match up. Flub's is definitely one of those must stop places for me whenever I'm visiting Ohio! It's super cheap, yet offer pretty high quality frozen treats. They have your regular ice cream, sorbets, sherbets, ice cream bars & so much more for such affordable prices! Will not ever return.... doesn't sit well with my soul how I was treated on 6/14/21. I usually go 2-3 times a week & spend about $20 for a family of 4 I've always received great customer service & I only have positive things to say about all of the products we've tried. At this visit at the Eaton Avenue location I asked for napkins for a $23 order & I was handed 2 napkins, I asked for a lid for an item & didn't get one so it melted all over,I ordered 3 ice cream cones, a cyclone & a flavor flight & was told that I couldn't have Oreo pieces & a plain ice cream cone on the side of it when the sign for it clearly says that toppings can be ordered on the side, I order additional toppings all the time. The list goes on... I know my complaints may seem petty but It just feels like the employee was giving me a hard way to go read more

By far the best soft serve ice cream I have had! They have over two dozen different Cyclone varieties to try with sizes ranging from small to why the heck did I just order this massive thing?! Always quick and friendly service here. On hot days there is usually a deceptively long line out the door. It always moves fast though! There is no indoor seating area but there are benches throughout the shopping plaza with many over towards Symmes Tavern. There is also a wonderful park across the street south of the building which makes for a great walk with even more seating (Village Green). Only drawback to this location is they operate seasonally. The ice cream quality is exactly the same as their Hamilton location. Why go to Dairy Queen when this is the king?! read more

Lived in Fairfield for 8 years, this was my first time here. Was not overly impressed. Service was friendly, but offered no help to this first time customer. They only have soft serve. They offered chocolate and vanilla and a twist of those two. And two sherbet flavors and a twist of those two. No hand dipped ice cream. The store set up is kind of strange too. The cyclone menu is behind you and awkward to read when the store is busy because ppl stand in front of it. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Flubs is a little slice of nostalgic heaven, from the soft serve ice cream and sherbet to the cyclones and sundaes everything has an old school soda fountain feel. The custom toppings are amazing, I recommend the dip tops and the crunch coat. My personal favorite is the blue raspberry glacier with vanilla soft serve. No seating at this location, though there are some benches in the little plaza adjacent that you can sit on. Stopped in on my way to Jungle Jim's. This location is slightly different. It sells ice cream cakes and sandwiches (though maybe the other location has sandwiches and I missed it?). It was labor day and the staff while friendly was clearly not giving it their A game, at least not like the other location. I had a cyclone - the two ton turtle (?) - which was yummy. Mixed ice cream then topped with a little more ice cream, pecans and whip cream. True what another poster said - the whip cream came out of a can, but it was still yummy :) The pecans were slightly toasted and hit it out of the park. My son got the zebra and he was happy, but they didn't offer eyes...not sure if you have to request that? I forgot to by the time we got through the line. I ordered the medium cyclone and it was just too much. Next time I will get the small. I finished it, but half way through I felt like I was done and regretted my eyes being bigger than my stomach. I think it was the chocolate/caramel that did it since I've had the strawberry cyclone and that didn't feel overwhelming. read more

Every time I go there the person can't even do a small cone without it falling all over the side, then they jam it in a cup upside down and hand it to me with a spoon and say "here". Apparently no one in Flubs management has thought to train their employees to say thank you and care enough to do their job right.
