We have been going to The Cone since we moved to West Chester a few years ago. They have great ice cream. If I could change anything about it, it would be their location, but they have been there since before West Chester became as big and built-out as it is. They have worked with their location as best they can, and it works. Their menu is large, and they have a great, patient staff. I recently had an issue in which they prepared the order slightly incorrectly. I brought this to their attention but did not want to have them go through the bother of remaking the incorrect item. They voided the entire transaction on my card! I called to ask for a manager because we did not want a local small business to void an entire order, which we enjoyed, instead of a manager, I got the owner. When I insisted on paying for our treats, he insisted on not charging us. Keith's only condition was that we continue coming to The Cone. Deal. Thanks, Cone workers and Keith. Touted as Cincinnati's best soft serve, and The Cone did not disappoint. Visited on National Ice Cream Day. We went early as we knew they would be busy. Thankfully, so did the folks at The Cone. Kudos to their top notch organization, as well as their patient, kind, and expeditious young employees. The Cone is obviously well managed. We opted for drive thru. The Cone employed a double line system that condensed into one after you ordered, much like a well-trafficked McDonald's. Great signage and ample room kept any confusion down to a minimum. A friendly and informative staff member manned the ordering station, giving us tips on their current deals, making suggestions, taking our name, and accurately getting our order and forwarding it electronically to the folks that put our order together. We then advanced to the pay station. We got three items and the whole order was less than $5. What a steal! Lastly, we received our items at the final service window. Giving our name was all it took to get everything accurately and without any delay. I enjoyed a Strawberry and Vanilla swirl and my date enjoyed the Blueberry and Vanilla swirl. Both ice creams were exactly what we wanted and were gone before we got home. I also tried a corn dog that was pretty average, but that's not really what you come here for, is it? I got the peanut butter with vanilla in a waffle cone. In a moment of temporary insanity, I ordered the larger size. It was huge! I shared some, but ate most of it. It was so smooth and delicious. Best ice cream in the region! You know why there is ALWAYS a long line standing and at the drive through? It's just that good! I always get the orange cream and vanilla swirl cone, but there is PLENTY mor flavors and treats to choose from. My grandsons prefer the dipped cones, my wife prefers peanut butter chocolate sundaes , daughter prefers strawberry vanilla cones and my son-n-law goes for anything extravagant that he sees that day; yesterday it was a supersized orange swirl cone in a waffle cone dippers in butterscotch. Everyone is always like "I can't believe you've never been to The Cone"..well..now they can't say that anymore because I finally made it out there on an excessively hot Memorial Day afternoon. I've got to say..I'm a fan now. The place is just..adorable..and they serve up all of your favorite types of ice cream and desserts. After scanning their pretty big menu I decided to go with a Wizard (their version of a Blizzard..get it? Wizard---Blizzard..same but different..seewhattheydidthere? seewhattheyDIDthere?) with M&M's and Oreos. Honestly, it was delicious and probably better than any random Blizzard I've had in the past. What I really liked about it is that they put a ton of M&M's and Oreos in it..every bite from start to finish was full of the toppings. Too often with places that have a similar menu item..there's usually a whole lot of toppings in the first half and then just plain ice cream in the second half. Not here..the toppings were plentiful and evenly distributed throughout the Wizard. They have both out door and in door seating options which are nice. The inside is nice and air conditioned and really refreshing on an overly hot day. The kids working here were all nice and friendly and they seemed to work together as a team really well because the food came out really fast. The only downside to this place is that it's a little pricey compared to similar places in the area. Not crazy high..but high enough that maybe you would consider going to the Cone as a special treat every once in a while rather than on a regular basis. In my hometown we had a cone called Twistee Treats that I loved dearly, thankfully The Cone is almost an identical version of them! I'm so happy a childhood reminder exists in Ohio! They have an extensive menu ranging from various frozen treats (similar to DQs blizzards), sundaes, frozen ice, and traditional soft serve combo options (chocolate/vanilla, plain vanilla, plain chocolate and vanilla/orange). I had to order my go to which is chocolate/vanilla with chocolate sprinkles in a bowl. IT WAS SO GOOD! The ice cream flavor was spot on for soft serve, not too sweet, but with a subtle yet recognizable flavor of chocolate and vanilla. It was creamy and almost silky like in texture. The sprinkles were crunchy and perfect, contrasting well with the smooth Ice cream. For a small, the give you quite a large portion and it is well worth it for $3.75. If you ever see their adorable little truck that looks like an ice cream, be sure to stop by, you wont regret it!! I'm hoping I'll see them again at another Cincinnati food festival. Vibe: If you've swiped through pics, you've probably seen the massive cone shaped roof that sits a top the stand. I know people love this place... and it's become some sort of landmark for the area because of the big cone shaped roof. But.. we actually hate the ice cream. I know that's a strong word, but if you've ever had ice cream anywhere else to compare it to, this soft serve is actually horrible. It's flavorless, and not creamy at all. Prices seem very high for how bad it is. Then there's the ride on nonsense, don't even get me started on that. The location is not easy to enter or exit without a near collision most times. Although it is across from our most favorite pizzaria (Fratellis) we will never frequent this ice cream place again. We have given it a few chances, and ultimately have decided their product is just awful. If you want good soft serve, go to Nanny belles, Loveland Dairy Whip, Whipty Do... anywhere else. read more

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream with festive sprinkles! I came here on 4th of July. It was a quick stop on our way home. I've rode past The Cone a few times and always wanted to try them. They are known for their soft serve ice cream. It comes in a few different flavors. They also offer different options like milkshakes, Sundaes, and other treat options. I tried Blueberry & Vanilla, Orange & Vanilla, and Strawberry before ordering just plain Vanilla with sprinkles. I wasn't a fan of their other flavors as the fruit taste was strong and weird. Sometimes plain is best and in my case it worked out. I ordered myself and my daughter Vanilla with Sprinkles Waffle Cones and I ordered my husband a Strawberry Milkshake. This was the fastest I've ever had to eat ice cream. The sun was beaming but I had to get a good pic. Lol! In my opinion, I didn't think their soft serve was anything special. I also didn't like their fruit flavors. I've had better tasting soft serve before. I would probably come back if I was in the area and my daughter wanted a quick ice cream treat. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Pumpkin ice cream..... enough said. Go get some! Have been to the cone several times the past couple years when we are in the area (live about 30 minutes away). It is a little more expensive than some places, but I feel that they have good quality product. The wizzards are delicious. I am an Oreo fan so it is my go to item for a mix in. Nothing to write home about but a good treat for a summer day. The pumpkin ice cream is delicious so we occasionally make a special trip just to get it.
