Croque Madame is outstanding! Shaved ham with a symphony of fontina, gruyere and white cheddar chesses between 2 buttered, grilled sourdough slices and topped with an egg...mmmmmmmmm. Their coffee which comes in these mini thermo's is quite good and it's never ending...bladder beware. Service was spot on. Love the T shirts they wear. A new spot in Morristown and it's sure to stay! Kinda a cool place but hipster central wouldn't be my description. Its more of "Funky Eclectic" with its mis-matched chairs. I came in and ordered a burger. I asked for a beer menu and was told, we don't serve beer but its BYOB. (I would have stopped if I knew.. ) The menu touts the burgers are made from a Pat LaFrieda blend. Interesting, lets get to blending my burger! I ordered the Chipotle-Bacon burger. The burger has Muenster cheese and chipotle bacon mayo. Along with a side of waffle fries makes this one great dish! My only issue? (Besides serving no beer....) was the onion ring that topped my burger was so over cooked. It was actaully a rock hard! Review the menu for yourself and see how mouth watering the offerings are. It was so hard to decide what to get. Finally I had to ask the waitress. Our table ordered a Jalapeno burger, chipotle burger, brie burger, Garlic Grilled cheese and an omelet (can't remember which--but it had a lot of avocado). Mine was the chipotle burger. With the proliferation of "upscale" fast food burger joints (5 guys, Bobby Flay, Smashburger, shake shack, etc), burgers have become trendy. But none of those places can even come close to this place's burger patty. Wow. So good. My chipotle burger was excellent, and my friend literally did not speak while eating his jalapeno burger--it was that good. My wife loved her brie burger and the garlic grilled cheese was also a hit. The omelet wasn't a hit for my friend, but that's more because she ordered the least of all evils (she was hoping for a more healthy menu). My wife tried a piece of her omelet and she liked it, for what it's worth. Almost forgot: the deep fried oreos in red velvet batter. (Note, not red velvet oreos, but regular oreos deep fried in red velvet batter. I make this distinction because Oreo has a red velvet oreo cookie that's quite gross). These oreos were phenomenal. Sooo good. Service: Quite the wait because of busyness. but that's our fault for going at lunch rush hour. I wish our server came by a bit more but that's me being picky. Such a cute little place that has a variety of options from breakfast items to delicious looking burgers! Since I'm a brunch lover I decided to order something from the breakfast menu. I ordered the one eyed pete and instead of the bread I asked to receive 1 cookie dough pancake. The waitress happily agreed to substitute it without any fuss! I love when restaurants are flexible and I'm so glad I asked for this pancake. The cookie dough pancake was delicious. It had a perfect sweetness level and texture. I could hear that they just walked in and they asked to sit inside. They counted the table and what not and said sure. When I asked if I could switch from outside to inside since it was getting windy. They couldn't out the tables and clearly realized they let the two people sit inside when they should have asked the people that were waiting for 20+ minutes. Instead of owning up to the mistake they lied about it. Anyway we tried to make the best of the situation. I ordered a spinach and artichoke grilled cheese with tomato soup $14 My boyfriend got the Buffalo grilled cheese $15 dollars His family got RED VELVET PANCAKES $11 And apple pie French toast $13 THE FOOD My grilled cheese was cold. It was placed onto the table and already cold. We were already cold outside and it was cold. My soup was warmer but it wasn't hot as soup should be. Never had the pleasure of trying this location before COVID happened but I had major burger cravings today so I ordered a Baked Brie burger (with waffle fries) for takeout and it was honestly the best brie burger I've ever had. Order was ready for in less than 20 min and since I was in the area food was still warm when I got it. As soon as you open the box you're hit with the delicious smell of excellent bacon and whatever seasoning is on the beautiful fries. Burger was neatly packed (I was too hungry to take a picture) with the fig preserves on the side, a generous portion of fries, and a pickle hidden at the bottom. The fries were crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and well-seasoned so no dipping sauce really necessary. But the burger is of course the main event. The top bun was to the side so you could see the exposed patties tantalizingly covered in ooey gooey cheese and crisp bacon. I slathered the lonely bun with some preserves and tuck in. The sweetness of the fig balances out the saltiness from the bacon, combined creaminess and slight funk you get with Brie cheese makes if not a perfect bite, then pretty close. read more

But, I need to face reality, the food could be better. It's easy to get excited as the portions are significant, but the food often arrives cold. Today, I ordered eggs over easy, bacon, and bread. The eggs were overcooked on the whites, and the yolk wasn't cooked. The bacon and toast were cold, so I had to return them. This happens more than you would think. The pancakes are ok, but they come out cold many times and lack taste unless you use a ton of syrup. I would love to see a revamping of the menu, with more healthy options included. And, please buy a heating lamp to keep things warm!!! read more

Came here for brunch with a group of friends. We arrived at 10am and we only had a 10 min wait for a group of 6. They text you updates so you can walk around which is nice. The ambiance of this place is great, my friend called it "farmhouse chic". I loved that the menu has so many options from sweet to savory and has lunch options. We got grilled cheese with tomato soup, avocado grilled cheese, waffle fries, lox omelette, el fuego omelette, challah French toast and the cookie dough pancakes. I have eaten at The Committed Pig twice now. Today I went in for lunch and I ordered the Chipotle Burger with a side salad. It was satisfying. Everything tasted so good. If you like greasy burgers, this is the place to go. The Muenster cheese with the onion ring and bacon was a great combo! The side salad could've had a better presentation though. Came here for the first time only to find out we could've reserved a spot on the waitlist via yelp (didn't even know that was a thing). Also found out this place is byob, luckily the hostess pointed us in the direction of a nearby liquor store (a block away). As the waitress was opening our bottle of champagne, she put an order of wings in for us which came out within 10min. I ordered the Rutgers Pork Roll Sandwich with waffle fries and it did not disappoint. I underestimated the amount of pork roll they'd put in the sandwich. I was stuffed. This is my favorite place to eat in Morristown. I've practically gotten through their whole menu. Obviously they're signature food is burgers (best burgers I've ever had) but they have fantastic grilled cheese too and today I tried their breakfast for the first time. I got their red velvet pancakes and they were DOPE. If you're going there to get a burger you HAVE to try the Mac and cheese burger. They put it on this huge piece of sourdough bread and grill it and it's the best burger I've ever had. Definitely not a meal for anyone on a diet because they literally have to use two burgers to fit it on that huge piece of bread with a giant blob of Mac and cheese on top. If you're looking for grilled cheese their garlic avocado grilled cheese is amazing too. They use a ton of butter on their bread which is probably what makes it taste so good. It's a little heavy on the avocado but otherwise it was amazing. My boyfriend got the cheesesteak grilled cheese and that's next on my list. My gf and I were catching up this Sunday at Brunch... we brought a bottle of champagne and ordered a Carafe of orange juice to enjoy a few glasses of mimosas... well several for me as I nearly polished off the bottle myself, she was driving!! Now onto the food... ohhh the food! So we opted to order and split the Garlic Avocado Grilled Cheese and the Brunchwich sandwich... the best of both worlds and it was truly heaven!! The only thing they did to the "pancakes" was just they just basically dumped a ton of condensed milk and dumped nutmeg on top. I don't know why they did this. Pancakes are supposed to be tasty in their own right. They drowned it in syrup I literally had to scrap it all off the top because it's just pure sugar. Uh, really fucking good. I had the Chipotle Bacon Burger and it was awesome. My sister had the Illy Dilly Burger, and even though I'm not a pickle person, it was super good - succulent, flavorful, basically everything a burger should be. Fries were hot, fresh, and abundant. Service is good, food is good. The hype is real. Next time I'm back home in Jersey, I'm going back. Would probably recommend going in a bit later in the day though, I went around 2 and the brunch/lunch crowd had died out. Waffle fries and pickles were delish - Coffee in thermos: this is a cute idea instead coffee pots Even though we were seated outside, I thought there would still be service given to us. No one came to check in on us, and our waters were never refilled. I wish I had been told we would be given spotty service if seated outside. My french toast got cold while I waiting to ask for syrup. I got up to use the bathroom and ended up stealing a syrup bottle from an empty table inside to eat with french toast. After given our check, bf had no idea that he had to get up and pay at the counter. I kept telling him to pay at the counter after seeing patrons do so while waiting for the bathroom. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love a good brunch spot so I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was to stumble upon The Committed Pig and then on top of that, learn it is BYO. Score! First things first, they allow you to bring your own wine, beer, and/or champagne. I'm personally a huge fan of restaurants that are BYO. And the fact that there is a liquor store in walking distance makes it that much better. The atmosphere is super cute, clean, charming. It is a small space, so probably not the best choice if you're with a large group. I must say I loved the mismatched chairs, hanging chalkboards, and quotes posted on the wall. It added a unique flair to place. Customers are able to pay their bill at the front of the restaurant, which is good in case you're in a rush. Keep in mind, it does seem to get rather busy during the lunch hour. No complaints about service. Our waiter was really friendly and knowledgeable. It took us forever to decide what to order so his patience with us was certainly appreciated! The food was pretty good. The Committed Pig is known for their pancakes so of course I couldn't pass up the cookie dough pancakes. It was served as a stack of three decent sized pancakes. While they were good, I honestly felt like they didn't taste too "cookie doughy." The only real taste of cookie dough that I got was from the toppings. The meal came with a side of bacon, fruit, or sausage. I asked to substitute with hash browns instead which thankfully was not a problem. Came in on a Monday morning (January 9 to be exact) was seated promptly by a very friendly man. Didn't catch his name but was a great start to my morning. Our server Wilmer took our order with patience and tranquility. Our appetizers came out WONDERFUL and the mains he was kind enough to let us order for our friend who was running a tad late (oh Jessica ). That was the exact word I put into My Yelp search and one of the highest rated results was "The Committed Pig" on the square. We found metered street parking but there is also a nearby parking deck. We arrived at 4:00 and were the only people dining that early so we were immediately seated. They do not have a liquor license but you can bring your own. We opted for some pricey soft drinks. You can only have your burgers cooked rare, medium or well. Forget about medium-rare or medium-well, you can't have that. Moments after ordering our burgers and fries were delivered to our table smoking hot off of the grill. My illy dilly burger was two perfectly cooked beef patties with American cheese, deep fried pickle chips and Russian dressing on a bun. I have to say that the burgers and fries were delicious. I am looking forward to going back with some of my favorite beer to enjoy another burger. read more
