We came here just in the new year with a group of 16 of us (yep, you read that right....) and the team easily accommodated our group of feral children and margarita-loving adults. Food came quickly and was properly portioned (not too huge, not too small) and all the fries were piping hot and that perfect mix of crispy exterior and soft fluffy interior (fries are the most important judgement at any tavern/pub place). Our server was kind and attentive and didn't seem bothered by the 8-9 wile children. And I loved that we were seated in a back corner away from any other diners so we didnt have to feel moritifed for ruining their dining experience. We had a few small mishaps with drinks and food, but they quickly and kindly corrected the problem and I asolutely love them for that. We definitely see this place as both adult-fun and family-friendly and love that those two worlds can collide on a Friday (early) night! read more

We had a fantastic casual family party in the HOPS bar at the Frog. Jim and his staff, bartenders and servers were so nice and gave us all we needed for a very memorable event. They should call it the Faded Frog. Never a white tablecloth dining spot, the Famished Frog was always a solid go to whenever you were in Morristown. Maybe it is the effects of the Pandemic or just losing your edge after 20 years, but the food is just ok and the drinks are nothing special. There are clearly much better options in town. read more

My Dad, my son and I came to the Famished Frog for my son's seventh birthday, and we had such a great time! It's very spacious, with a a big bar area, and other rooms for sitting and dining with family and friends. The food was awesome. Underrated but updated bar section! Came to watch the NFL playoffs and was surprised how nicely they updated the bar section now called Legends. There's TVs everywhere and service was laid back. The food was good quality. Had fries which were fresh and not soggy. Came with a good amount. Also had buffalo wings which were normal sized, warm and a good spiced sauce which was not overbearing or too much. Finally, had a chicken wrap which was average. I have to say there's a really good staff that works at this establishment. The layout of the building it's pretty cool and spacious. I've been frequenting the lily pad a lot during Covid. Laurie is awesome. She remembers my name from the first day she took care of me. When possible i try to request her section. Great service and the ambiance outside is really nice. Unfortunately it's getting colder out, but I will do my best to keep supporting. Also Brian makes the best riptides. I'm always a fan of trying the new flavors first when I can. I gave this a lot of thought... I would normally never give a great review to a place that dropped the ball on me, but there are firsts for everything. I was able to walk up and get a table even during the COVID crisis (good). The server and other staff, especially one in particular (Heather, maybe?), were darling (really good). I thought the fish and chips were pretty authentic tasting, which isn't a necessity, as fried fish and French fries suffice no matter how you swallow them, but they seemed very authentic (also good). I didn't get my food for over an hour and a half (bad). I was sitting alone and waiting patiently, and I ordered almost the moment I sat down. Although many servers kept coming out to check on me and feed me beers, I still somehow got swept between into the cracks. I eventually brought it up to someone that it's taking a while when I started to realize that other tables came, sat, ordered, ate and left, and I was still starving. I was told there must have been a "mix-up with the printing machine" and that my food would be "right out". I was going to say cancel it, and I'll pay my tab for the beer and go get fast food instead, but was told not to bother because it was really coming "right out". It didn't (also bad). Over twenty minutes later, I eventually pulled a server aside (maybe Heather) and said to please cancel my food order and I just want to pay on the beer (I think I was up to two and a half dozen by that point, having been there all night. IDK. I lost track, mainly because I was drunk). Maybe Heather was genuinely empathetic, sincerely apologized, got me my order of fish and chips to go and didn't charge me (great). And the food was good (again, good). So, I'd have to say I'll go back again, and I do recommend The Famished Frog to you as well. Probably just an anomaly, what happened to me, having ironically being actually famished by The Famished Frog. Mistakes do happen, and I was very pleased with how the restaurant responded to the mess up. They may have won me over for life. read more

One of my favorite places to go in Morristown, both for dinner with kids and for drink with friends. On the drinks with friends side, some definite positives. While still drawing a decent crowd, it's much less crowded than many other Morristown bars. For a married man out only for a couple drinks, that's what I'm looking for. Other positives include free popcorn, shuffleboard, and Kane on tap. Good happy hour appetizer deals too. For the family, it's a great place too. Kids meal are the normal course, but come with ice cream. A bit on the pricy side. They give the kids a free frog toy when you sit down, so they enjoy that. We have quite the collection at home. The food for the adults is interesting and generally pretty good, but nothing special. Tonight I got the monkfish tacos - tasty, but way too little monkfish. Just a piece on top of each taco, so most of it was just lettuce and cabbage and tomatoes in a taco. My wife got the horseradish burger. Oh yes, it also came with fries. You can probably tell that I'm not always a great risk taker. I won't mention how many Sam Adams. They have a free popcorn machine that is pretty much always refilled and though it is not gourmet popcorn, it's still good. Let me talk about the decor. I hope you like frogs because there are more frogs hanging up on the walls than you will find in a Florida lily pond. Kermit's friends were well represented but I could not find Kermit himself. After you enter, you are going to find a long corridor which leads to another door. A long central bar awaits you which is surrounded by TV screens, a main dinning hall and to the right a smaller bar with a pool table, shuffle board and dart board nearby. I hope you don not like conversation because if conversation is going on during Happy Hour you will not hear it. The Famished Frog is right on the square in Morristown so parking options are limited. Try to find street parking, walk two blocks for free street parking that is more readily available or pay for garage parking about a block away. read more

The entrance to Famished Frog is a door followed by a long corridor and then another door. Arrived past 10 pm on a Friday night. So we could only choose from the late night menu. The items were limited and mostly the classic stuff. The bar next door had live music and the attached door would swing open occasionally letting in a blast of sound in an otherwise not so loud place. The place is good for groups. Since the menu items were limited, we were quick to order. Classic nachos : Good portion of nachos with sour cream, cheese and jalapeños served with a side of salsa. Good portion size. I wished they used a better cheese though. Ritz chicken fingers: Crispy fingers served with Honey mustard sauce. Pretty good. Chocolate lava cake with ice cream: The combination tasted good but the cake was more of a giant soft cookie. Did not have the molten interior I was looking for. We briefly visited the Famished Frog on our day trip to the town of Morristown; and we are glad we did! I was attracted by the name and even though not hungry, I was a bit thirsty. The interior was cool and casually homey; there are three sections, a long central bar surrounded by TV screens; the main dining hall, and to the right a smaller bar with pool table, shuffle and dart boards and more TV screens. We leisurely spent a couple of hours away from the heat of the day, playing shuffle board watching a baseball game, sipping Abita's Purple Haze and munching on the complementary popcorn. The friendly and professional serving staff made our visit even more enjoyable! I've been here quiet a few times but never got around to doing a review. This place is like a cleaner bigger upgraded bar/pub. The space is really large, food is always reliably good, and there is rarely a wait. They have a vast and great selection of food with lots of things that you never really see on a menu together. Our waitress was good, However when we asked her about a few things like funny tasting ranch and au jus for a the roast beef sandwich she said she wasn't allowed to taste them. I ended up at this restaurant by sheer luck. The entire staff there is very friendly. They have a patio area in the back,which is by reservation only and they have some tables and chairs on the side walk in the front, which are first come, first served that you can eat at. You can also get your food to to. There is street metered parking available in the vicinity of the pub, that is free after 8PM. I had the blackened salmon tacos with fries. They were delicious. I highly recommend them. It was a lot of food. I was so full. They have a large selection of beer and cocktails. I just had to get the frozen strawberry margarita to-go. Yes, to-go. The rule was that I could just not drink it in public. Done deal! I enjoyed my meal there. The weather was excellent, the food was delicious, the staff was accommodating, and the drinks were refreshing. They have daily food and drink specials during the day that you can take advantage of. We were visiting friends who lived in the area and they suggested we all eat here. It was a nicely decorated restaurant with a cute name. They give kids, with the kids menu, a plastic frog finger puppet. These frogs can be seen strewn on the ceiling window near the bathrooms. We had 4 adults and 5 kids in our party and they were able to seat us quickly. Service was really good. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, but it didn't taste as good as it sounded. Not sure what kind of cheese they used but it was different than regular Philly cheesesteaks and didn't taste good. I was disappointed with my meal but my husband loved his pulled pork tacos. The others in our group also seemed to enjoy their meal. All the kids ordered a smoothie or slushie and the flavor was very weak on all of them. So the kids did not enjoy their drinks which was too bad since they did cost extra. I would try here again since the service was great. Maybe they just had an off day. read more

Prices were good and the food was very fast. CONS: just like many places around that area they don't have a parking lot so you either have to do street parking or pay in some garage. The men's bathroom could only accommodate 2 people and for a bar that holds 40+ those aren't good odds. OVERALL: this place is definitely a hit for me when I go back to that area again!
