I love this bar. I wish it was my local. It's that welcoming, fun spot where it doesn't matter if you're a bunch of rowdy guys (occasionally me), or my septuagenarian aunt who lives up the block on Garfield...everyone is equally welcome and equally happy to be there. The Commish has got all the things you need in a bar: Good beer on tap. Good music. Good vibes. Good games (darts, shuffleboard, assorted board games). All the booze. Good prices. Good food. It's bar food, but it's good bar food. You can just rock chips and queso to snack on, or you can go heavier with a burger, wings, hot chicken, chicken fingers and all the sauces. Quite literally they asked my friend which sauces he wanted, and brought him like five different dipping sauces when he said all of them. He was very happy, because who doesn't love dipping fried shit in sauce. I deeply, deeply appreciate the friendly bartenders, and the endlessly patient server who very recently had to deal with us standing in her path during playoff football when it was too crowded for everyone to sit down. I love that they put a mezcal and soda in a pint glass, because I need that hydration, and the ratio is just better. The owners and staff are all laid back, and obviously don't take themselves too seriously, as evidenced by the review they had printed up on shirts for the staff to wear: "The Chevrolet rental car of Park Slope bars." Really, there are no downsides to The Commish, unless you lament the demise of Pork Slope...but I've been here more than I ever went to Pork Slope, so I think it's for the best.

Was in from Boston looking for a good place to watch the Red Sox Yankees wildcard game after a long day at Methodist Hospital. Went to a few places recommended on Yelp which were all pretty bad. This was by far the worst. The place was packed. The game was on with no sound, obnoxious music was blaring and not a single, not one single person was watching the game. The vibe was and experience was not that of a sports bar, just an obnoxious local place for Brooklyn hipsters and young professionals. I love New York and I love Brooklyn but as sports fan this place is garbage and not a place to go enjoy a big game.

Poor service. Poor food. Came in on a Tues afternoon. Almost no one there. Took forever to get served and the food was inedible. Buffalo Chicken sandwich. Only one bartender working. Disappointing because I thought this place would scratch that 5th Ave park slope gastropub itch.

Love this spot. Service is always great and we love the ambiance & prices! We stopped in here for a quick lunch and a couple beers and we were both really pleased with our meals! Our favorite neighborhood spot.

Very solid bar overall. Laid back atmosphere, plenty of TVs that show all football games, great prices, solid beer list and extremely good bar food. Split a burger and the Nashville hot chicken and both were amazing. Will be back for sure.

Super friendly staff and quick service! I stopped here to grab a quick beer on the sidewalk and a hotdog. They have an assortment of booze - tap, can, well drinks - pick your poison ;D The seating outside was taken at 6 pm so be prepped for that! I didn't mind ... I got my drink on!

Lively and friendly, even to this country-come-to-town Arkansas hillbilly . I enjoyed the vibe and the cider!

The energy was more mature which I preferred in a sports bar. Tons of benches, some bar seating and pool tables in the back. Lots of tvs as well, saw all the March Madness games playing. We were debating between regular wings or smoked and best decision of the night was picking the smoked wings. It was crisp and not too saucy, keeping the wings as the key. Service: 5/5 There was only one waitress and one bartender at the time, but service was very quick. We did not have to wait for anything. Ambiance: 5/5 We were looking for a sports bar to eat at before going to the Nets game. Fulton Hall is only few minutes walk from Barclays. It was not crowded at all and was perfect to relax and grab a bite before going to the game.

The venue is pretty spacious they have a back dining area, a big bar when you enter and a full bar upstairs. There's a ton of televisions if you are watching sports as well. In general, I like the mellow / peaceful vibes of outer borough NYC Irish pubs at lunchtime. McMahon's did not disappoint. Solid buffalo chicken wings & good burger. I am also post fries (I will try one or two of yours, but I don't need an order of fries for myself.), so can't comment on the fries. They also make a mean Caesar salad. The Caesar & buffalo wings are pretty much my metric for all Irish pubs. McMahon's would def be in the upper 50th percentile. There are a bunch of negative reviews for this spot on here for when they are very busy, on Barclays Center game nights and / or weekends. I feel like, if you read between the lines, it's people coming in groups when it's busy acting entitled. The staff at lunch has been nothing but courteous, w/ excellent service. Also, very clean inside, & food was good quality / fresh ingredients. There are almost no Irish pubs in this area open for lunch anymore at all - thank goodness this is a good one!
