Decided to try a new place for date night and we weren't disappointed! The hostesses were very friendly and welcoming. Service was great! We got there just in time for happy hour and we were able to enjoy some craft cocktails before dinner. My husband had the prime rib and I had the grouper, both of which were delicious! You have to get the fries with the truffle aioli...we couldn't stop eating them because they were SO good. Started off with a Twisted Shandy, Victory Lap, which was subtle but refreshing. Twisted Oysters are definitely worth trying. Yes! I'm definitely a fan. Great location, relaxed ambiance, but still perfectly trendy. My husband and I do early dinner on Wednesday's and it's always the best, because we beat dinner crowds. Welcoming! We decided to try this new place for my sisters birthday. The restaurant was very kind and accommodating, even to my 3yo nephew. They also offered us a free dessert! Everyone loves the Brussel sprouts but the prime rib was "eh". The sauce that goes w the artichokes was a scrumptious lemon hollandaise. The crab cakes were good but a little over mayonnaise-y. Went here on a Friday night for dinner, and had been warned by a few people that the bar area can get really loud. Made a reservation thinking we'd be seated in the dining room, but still got sat in the bar area, which seemed a little strange. In the bar area, it was even louder than I'd heard. People were screaming, and the noise bounced off the wood and glass, making people talk even louder to talk over the noise. We couldn't hear each other from a foot away, which made me feel like I was in a club in Old Town Scottsdale, and not at dinner in the Biltmore area. We asked to be moved and eventually they found us a table in the dining room, which was so much better. The wait staff apologized and they even mentioned how annoyed they get by all the noise. We have been to Collins three times and our experience is always great. Food and service both are awesome. Took my family here for the first time today and they loved it too. Our favorites were the angry bird pizza and the short rib. Husband tried their restaurant week special - bacon steak, prime rib and chocolate mousse pie and we both agreed the short rib is better. The bacon steak needed a little more sauce and the prime rib was lacking in flavor. We always go back for the short rib and now the pizza! read more

This is a fantastic place to come for lunch. I came in and had a classic burger with broccolini and a beer and everything was spectacular. The food at dinner was excellent and service was on point. We had the pimento dip and Brussel sprouts for appetizers. Wife had the rockfish and I had the steak. Steak was delicious and well cooked to my specifications, but should probably come with a different side other than fries. The rockfish was off the test menu. Environment is very open with windows into the kitchen so you can actually see what's going on. The restrooms are in the back and were extremely clean. Overall the experience was above average. Common Ground Culinary changed their concept from Twisted Grove to the Collins and it was for the better. They have a really great brunch, I really enjoyed the avocado toast and my husband devoured their eggs Benedict. Ask for the angry sauce, it's a delicious homemade buffalo sauce and is a great addition to their savory brunch dishes. They have kept some of my favorites on the menu, the french onion soup is even better than before and their salads are fresh and tasty. They also have delicious Arnold Palmers with fresh lemonade. They had a mezcal drink on special which was amazing and then we ordered the chicken platter and a pizza. Mmmmm the Collins has some pretty awesome menu items. I actually came here when it was twisted Grove for happy hour and thought their bruschetta board was good, but maybe not as good as a comparable one at postino. I came back for brunch after the name change. The food was all awesome! I was a little bummed that they were out of the eggs in purgatory (which is what I wanted) and a little put off by the waitress offering to get me the dish without the meat (what's the point of that?), But I ended up trying a flat bread pizza, which was tasty. I also got to try their Mac and cheese (amazing and really big for a side) and their Brussels (soooo good!). Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't crazy expensive either. Come here for the incredibly high quality food, attractive and friendly service, and the amazing ambience that can make an awkward dinner with the in-laws a total success (especially after a few house cocktails). They recently changed their name, adjusted the menu, and turned up the volume on drinks. If you haven't been here (which I'm guessing you haven't if you need convincing to go back), you are missing out. After the last play of the season at the Herberger, our group had dinner here to enjoy food and conversation until we meet again in the fall. As my husband and I arrived (we were the first) we were greeted and seated right away, at our tables - the reservation was for 11 people - without having to wait for at least another two people before being seated. Awesome Like so. many. restaurants. do. () with the hostess glaring at you as if you were gonna rob a seat ! What's the point of 'Reservations' if not to be seated when a party member arrives ?? IDK about other Yelpers but I find it insulting and annoying beyond belief: when I make a reservation, I honor it - if I can't or there are changes, I call ASAP so the restaurant can either free the table(s) OR revise the seating if the numbers change. That is one of the things that truly makes me never want to go back to some places : traffic, parking, and general lateness, mean that group bookings rarely, if ever, will have everyone arrive at the same exact time, even if it is "only" four people. Here, it was all pleasant and friendly and welcoming, like we were good friends. Our other friends arrived in dribs and drabbles, everyone was welcomed, served their drinks orders, and we were given time to chat and go over our menu choices. As it was Restaurant Week, both my hubby and I decided to go with the excellent choices on there; so happy we did! Everything looked - and more importantly - tasted wonderful. I grew up in Europe so still cook most meals from scratch; I also trained as a chef, so I can be a bit too intolerant with kitchen blunders and can recognize mistakes / substitute ingredients - but also understand how things go in a hectic and fast environment like a restaurant kitchen. This Sunday nothing went wrong. My brisket was spot on. Same as the service for us : was spot on. I wish I remembered our server's name: apologies to you my friend, you were friendly and helpful and so nice ! If I had to say something it would be that we were booked for 11 people, but, as it turned out, not everyone showed up. Life happens. As I arrived ( I managed a restaurant in the past) I noticed that 11 people could have sat at two near tables along a banquette with two tables instead of two 'booth-type' areas that weren't communicating, which is where our party was seated. This most certainly doesn't impact on my enjoyment of the atmosphere, or that of my meal or my experience. It's just an observation, from experience in the field, and not a criticism. It only means we had two separate groups when we could have all sat together; I would've reorganized us to the tables to be one big group...but that's just me. Not an issue,a thought. We all left happy, full of great food, I managed NOT to hit the kitchen wall (again) instead of the restrooms...Yay ! .. and everyone enjoyed their meal, the great service, and... what? Oh . . . I enjoyed my cocktails very much too !! Yes, do go and enjoy the food, drinks and lovely staff. We got there, and they tried to seat us in a tiny table, jammed in a corner, further crowded by a large group with a baby in a carrier, sleeping in one of our seats.
