The Circular restaurant is beautiful with a warm and inviting atmosphere featuring many windows that create a bright and welcoming ambiance. The service was fantastic with many team members assisting us to satisfy the needs of our large party of people. The Foie Gras Mousse missed the mark for exceptional flavor and looked fantastic but needed something more to take it to the next level. The Lavender Honey Glazed Duck Breast again presented well but was tough and had a lackluster flavor with little to no Lavender essence. However the King Salmon was extraordinary, cooked to perfection with great flavors. For dessert we dined with a local that requested an off menu item. The peanut butter pie was an amazing example of what is right in the world and exhibited decadence that can not be found in many desserts. It was perfectly balanced with sweetness and richness. This place was actually close to getting 5 stars, but for the first time in my life, I sent a steak back for being over cooked. I said medium rare and it came out medium well or even well done. I looked hard, because I didn't want to send it back, but it just looked brown on the inside. I didn't see any red or pink. When the second one came out it was perfect. And delicious. It was the 48 dollar Kansas City Special. The sides were delicious as well. The whole table enjoyed their meal. Would come back if I was looking for another fancy dinner in Hershey. read more

So it's expensive, the menu is very limited but it's very nice inside. You pay for the view, the prestige and to feel like you're lording it up over all the plebians who can't afford it. I'm not that type of guy so it did nothing for me. Everything was well made but it seems to me that this is a restaurant that people will go to because it's attached to the Hershey resort. They don't have to be interesting or unique with the menu because they will be booked no matter what. It's not bad but neither do I wish to return. This place is so beautiful! Went here with my girlfriend and two friends. There are no corners to the room. I was told Mr. Hershey wanted it that way so no one could be seated in the corner. Sat at the bar. Had a cheese plate, a peanut butter dessert and some pretzels. It was wonderful. The bartender, Sean, was awesome. He told us about the room and knew exactly what we should order. Cannot praise his knowledge enough. Would definitely go here again. Have to try full dinner here some time. read more

Had a to go brunch for Valentines Day. It was wonderful and well packed for Covid 19 standards. I ordered a prefixed breakfast along with a few add ons. I scheduled an 11:30 curbside pick up. At 11:30 someone from the hotel met me at the curb to ask my name. About 5 minutes later my order was brought out and placed in my trunk. Perfectly contactless. There was fresh fruit tray, charcuterie tray, croissants, pecan pastries, orange juice and our add ons of pancakes and bacon and short rib sweet potato hash. Everything was well packaged. It all looked great by the time we got back to our room. The taste of everything was really fresh and I particularly liked the hash and cheeses. Our total cost was around a hundred bucks but it was perfect for an eat in Valentine's Day brunch. read more

Ate at the Circular on New Year's Eve. I have patronized the Circular many times since I moved to Hershey in 1973. A few years ago they updated their decor to appeal to the casual traveler rather than the more formal dining room of the past. It's still a beautiful setting day or night and my wife and I continue to visit the Circular from time to time. In other restaurants, such as, Devon or The Mill, the chefs are very willing to meet the dietary preferences of their guests. But this visit, there were no choices for a vegetarian who wishes to minimize simple carbohydrates. The server tried to appeal to the chef, but they could not manage to put together a vegetable plate, maybe some grilled tofu - or some option. They did not even try. This is 2022/23 - many if not most other restaurants can adjust their menu to accommodate this dietary preference. We have dined at Harvest, another Hotel Hershey restaurant, and they were very willing to accommodate our preferences. Note: our server tried very hard to make things right. I give her 5 stars! I ordered the cheese plate appetizer so my wife could eat something. For $16 they served 4 tiny pieces of cheese!! Probably about 2 oz total, plus 2 figs cut in half. That equates to $128 per pound for the cheese. I had the haddock, and it was excellent. Drinks were done well but the bar was unbelievably slow. I would blame lack of workers, but the bar was right there in the room and the bartender did not appear to be overwhelmed. Maybe I misjudge - I can't say for certain. I hope a restaurant with the reputation (and prices) of The Circular will rethink their business plan to meet the variety of dietary approaches in Americans today. Please add a couple vegan and vegetarian options and some low carbohydrate side dishes. One can do a lot with tofu and tempeh, greens, and other vegetables. At least be prepared to make a substitution if needed. You should meet our desires, not vice versa. read more

The experience my husband and I had here was very disappointing; so much so that we won't return. Though our server was pleasant and the food was decent, the hostesses at the front were appallingly rude and disrespectful. We arrived for our reservation and the hostess acknowledged us but then proceeded to take another group. Then the other hostess that came in her stead completely ignored us and sat another table for 2 right in front in us, even they came after us. When the other hostess returned, she acted like we weren't even there and then I had to step up again and inform her of our reservation and she mumbled that they were still setting and proceeded to address other folks who were waiting in line. After a bit of additional waiting, the reserved table was finally ready. It's such a shame that after other similar these hostesses really make the first experience such a drag before even seating down! I truly hope that it wasn't anything with how we looked as a black/white couple or that my husband had a hat on, which he was going to take off before we sat down as to why we were treated the way we were. In any event, I've been to better service and better food than this place and I've never been so relieved to leave a restaurant. One and so done! read more

So the ambiance and the offerings were great. Our service was a bit slow, maybe due to the holidays? And the prices were a bit high. You pay a premium to be in the Hershey hotel. I'd come back, but I'd expect to spend at least $75 per person if you have any drinks, apps and dessert. Most entrees hover around $28-40. The shrimp amuse bouche was good. My friend is allergic to shrimp so they brought her strawberries in basalmic instead. It was thoughtful. Our salads were okay, nothing mind-blowing. Our sides and entrees were good. The drinks were my favorite part. We were celebrating the holidays and each wine or cocktail we ordered was fabulous. The desserts were good, but I felt overloaded. The fondue chocolate was good. Extremely good food and service. Great atmosphere. It's fancy without being pretentious. My steak was cooked to perfection. The grilled swordfish was also pretty outstanding. The team that was taking care of our table couldn't have been friendlier and more attentive. We also really enjoyed the curried deviled eggs. The chocolate souffle and the raspberry profiterole were also great. And as if all of that wasn't impressive enough, they give you a large piece of caramel candy to take with you that was probably the best piece of candy I have ever had. We also went here for breakfast the next day. That experience was just as good. The buffet is huge. This place is consistently a hit with the lunch buffet. All of the food is delicious and there are options to please all diets. I really love the tuna steak, the various salads, mashed potatoes and salmon. But of course the best part is obviously the amazing dessert bar...there are around 10 desserts which include chocolate pie, peanut butter cream pie, cheesecake, a ton of mini desserts and also fresh bread pudding. The food items were also behind a plastic barrier and in closed warming containers. All very safe and very delicious! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the 40min wait to be seated. We went to the Circular with a party of 7 to celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday. Overall we enjoyed our experience and it was fun to dress up and be more formal for a change. The atmosphere was nice. Upscale. Although we were dressed up there were people there that were not. I would prefer if they held to a dress code. It feels "fancier" some how when everyone is dressed nicely. The service was good. Our wait staff was attentive. My only complaint was that it was a LONG evening. We were there for 3 hours. I know it is suppose to be relaxed and not rushed but they took a little to long in between drinks and bringing our meals and in between the meal and dessert. We were all getting a little antsy by the end. The food was good. I will say that for the price (it is very pricey!) it should have been out of this world but I have had better food for less money. It was good though. Be warned nothing from the grill comes with sides - there is an extra charge for everything. I had the shrimp and scallops and it was a bit under seasoned and over cooked. My husband had a steak and he said it was cooked perfectly. The dessert was very good and we loved the caramels we got as the end of the meal. We absolutely LOVED brunch today at The Circular at Hotel Hershey! It is not an inexpensive meal, nor should it be. Service was exceptional, and I watched them constantly refresh items on the buffet. I think the average at our table was 3-4 plates, even though we were stuffed, because the food was just that good! There was a variety that satisfied age 4 to age 68! You can't beat the experience in this area. I also love that their menu changes weekly, so knowing there will be different items the next time we go is super exciting. The Circular is a beautiful restaurant. My husband and son and I visited this restaurant on Wednesday the 6th of December. My husband ordered Salmon which was delicious. My son ordered the Chicken also delicious. I ordered the Butternut Ravioli. When I received it I only counted 5 small Ravioli. I share one each with my husband and son leaving 3 for me. After I ate my 3 small Ravioli all I had left were the spices. There was more spices than Ravioli. Although the Ravioli was delicious there were only 5 pieces for $38.00 which were not enough. I started with lobster bisque it was delicious, I also tried and devoured my daughters onion soup (OUTSTANDING) The lamb chops I had were cooked perfectly but slightly gamey. The wine selections were very good and the server was very educated on what they were serving and pairing. Overall nice experience I will be back but remember to. Wait staff was mostly inattentive during the meal. Bread was offered at an added cost. Appetizers were of the minimum, 2 scallops! Vegetables were undercooked. Entree sizes were pitifully small as well with some items overcooked and the Prices significantly higher than the Harvest restaurant behind the hotel. Avoid unless you are looking for stuffy atmosphere and sky-high pricing for minimum portions. Milton Hershey would be appalled at what this place has become. Eat at the Harvest instead. read more

I was disappointed by dinner a few nights ago. While the Circular enjoys a beautiful setting the food is just okay and the service was lacking. We had a 6:30 reservation and it took until 7:00 before our before dinner cocktail was placed on the table. Several minutes after the appetizer. I don't go to a place like the Circular because I'm in a rush but thirty minutes for a cocktail to arrive is a bit much. And oh by the way, a Dark and Stormy is supposed to be dark on the bottom and light on the top, not mixed into a consistent tan... thus the namesake. Our steaks were quite good and the side of mac and cheese not up to what I could have done at home. The server, who had been onboard for six months, was pretty amateurish sloshing a good bit of our wine on the table from the unwieldily decanter. read more

It was actually pretty fabulous, there is a variety to choose from (including chocolate chip pancakes, and chocolate bread pudding) that is already made, but there is also an option to have things cooked to order, including omelettes and waffles. The service in the restaurant was pretty good especially considering it was quite busy on the Sunday morning we had breakfast there. It is pricey - about $50 for two people. read more

We had a fantastic dinner. They squeezed us in for a reservation and was glad they did. The atmosphere here is wonderful and we arrived during a snow storm and it felt like a reverse snow globe. Our waiter John was the kind of waiter you always hope to get, very attentive, exceptionally professional, wonderfully gracious. I hope they pay him as he demands because he was a huge reason why we enjoyed our time there. Food here was top notch. We started with the cocoa dusted scallops, which were flavorful yet mild with a hint of cocoa. I got the aged steak which you can tell was properly aged as it had a great beef flavor. Cooked medium rare, it was well worth the price. My only suggestion would be to warm the sauce that came with it as it was cold and contrasted the hot steak in an unpleasant way. Wife got the swordfish, which she enjoyed but she kind of wished she got the shrimp and scallops. Our sides were out of this world. Truffle Mac and Cheese, Mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, mushrooms, and Brussel sprouts (which I need the recipe for). Deserts were chocolate soufflé, which I was well warned that it would take 15 minutes to make, and was so fluffy and flavorful. My wife got the chocolate decadence, which in her words, she "could have had four" of. Overall we will definitely make this a go to spot for special occasions and a place we'll take guests when we want to take them somewhere we can safely expect great things from. read more

Arriving at the Hersey Hotel is amazing. Walking through the lobby and into the Circular Dinning Room sets you up for what should be an experience you will never forget. We were seated right away and the service started out great. Everything went down hill from there. Our waitress visited our table only 4 times during our 3 hour visit. The manager had to appologize for our meals taking so long to come out. We had to constantly ask for more water. No one asked us if we wanted coffee until the bill came out. Our food was just ok, nothing special for the $30 per plate the you pay. All I can say is do not go if they are busy I would guess that you will be forgotten. read more

Took my girlfriend here to celebrate our two-year anniversary (she had been wanting to go for some time now). It pains me to give this place only two stars, as the staff was very kind and we even got a couple of very nice pictures taken here. However, the service itself was only okay (water refills were slow and we found ourselves waiting for service several times). We had two different servers going back and forth throughout the night which was strange, especially since you would expect service to be top-notch with two people looking after you. A big letdown because this was not the case and the place was not busy at all. More importantly, the food was plain and difficult to consider "fine dining" (unless you are going strictly by price alone). I would go as far as saying it was borderline pretentious (plated nicely, but no taste) - SEE PHOTOS. The most memorable food we had at the CDR was the complimentary chocolate-themed breads and butters (though the bread really tasted like muffins). The chocolate martinis were also good, but you can get these at Trevi 5 as well. We ordered the cocoa-dusted scallops to start off - did not taste any cocoa and only two scallops? I know it's an appetizer, but come on.. $14 btw.. Main courses were equally underwhelming. I had the filet of beef and she had the fish of the day special, neither were memorable, though the corn custard that came with my filet was surprisingly good (being an Iowa native, I am impartial to corn ;) ). For dessert, we ordered the frozen hot chocolate, which was consistent with the other items - "meh" - this was recommended by the waitress. Overall, an underwhelming dinner, but still an overall good experience. Aesthetically, the Circular Dining Room is very nice/fancy, not to mention Hotel Hershey altogether. Plus this is one of the only places in town you won't catch a stare for "dressing up" for. You can still enjoy the hotel without needing to eat at the CDR. In fact, it seems the CDR makes a better brunch than dinner experience. If we decide to give it another go, we will probably go for brunch and enjoy the facilities during the day (there is an awesome outdoor no-cost recreation center below the hotel on the backside that seems little known). For a more casual dining experience within the hotel, I would recommend Trevi 5. You even get free chocolates. read more

One of the best meals of my life...and as always gluten-free accommodation was epic. Didn't know what to expect but walked in with no reservations and got seated right away, there is a circular bar in the middle and all the windows overlook the outside courtyard which is beautifully lit up. Got an old fashioned to start that you can pick from on their iPad menu which is totally legit and reminds me of Vegas at Gordon Ramsay's spot. It came out with an entire sphere ball made of ice and I was like where is the whiskey? Then she goes bam with a hammer on it and the drink spills out, I was amazing how epic that was done. Deviled Eggs appetizer and pumpkin soup all was presented beautifully and tasted so darn good. Had flavor explosion in mouth k thanks. For dinner I just got a filet Mignon and sides of mash potatoes which were so creamy and bomb-bay, and a side of roasted fall squash that had feta and pomegranate DAMN good. If you really want to go, do the following. Make a reservation for a table near the windows - they are really beautiful and it makes for a nice seat. Skip everything except for the dessert and coffee. The coffee is great and the desserts - well you are in Hershey for God's sake so pick something chocolate (or pick two somethings). That said, I have to gush about a cocktail on the drink menu...we had a few minutes at the bar while waiting for the table, and were introduced to the cocktail "Pink Chandelier". I took one sip and my whole universe shifted. With a base of Nolets gin, it was made to perfection by the bartender. The notes in the gin mixed with various complimentary ingredients are a brilliant combination! The glittery color and the sugar-rim fit in perfectly in at the "the sweetest place on earth". This rating need some clarification, as the ambiance at Circular Dining Room is spectacular - especially at sunset. The service is upscale and every member of the staff was extremely friendly. Cocktails were perfect and the sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable. As for the food, there isn't anything to complain about, but far from great. The menu was uninspiring from first glance and the main course was the dullest part of the evening - felt like we just had to get through it to get on to the chocolate martini's that awaited us. If the Hotel Hershey could match the ambiance and service levels with the menu and food quality, this could easily be a 5/5 dining experience. I hope they will - I'd like to return - at sunset, of course. read more

I met some friends here for some apps and drinks before going to Troegs brewery. The ambiance and feel of Hershey hotel just exudes high class and sophistication, so I was worried they might frown upon my trucker hat with a cat on it. Nonetheless they let me in and I joined my friends around the circular bar. This is a cocktail bar, but of course I ordered an IPA for my first beverage. Food wise, everything sounded good, lots of seafood on the menu. I ordered the cocoa crusted diver scallops, and the fried oysters. The scallops came out first. They were cooked perfectly. The meat was tender and not rubbery at all. The cocoa crust was interesting, giving it a burnt bark flavor which was better after every bite. The oysters came out next and the smell ruminating from them were intoxicating. Now I usually prefer my oysters raw, but these were awesome! Fresh oysters fried to perfection, with a lightly dresses coleslaw and BBQ sauce. With all this goodness in my belly, I needed a good stiff drink to wash it down. My bartender/mixologist (Kara, cute blonde) suggested the blind tiger. It was bangin! It had pomegranate in it which gave it a mild sweetness.
