BL: definitely swing by and give it a try! Waffle fries for the win! Had the (fried) spicy chicken combo (fries + can soda) for $13! (that's a steal compared to fast food!) It would've been a 5 star if the chicken was more crispy. I did get there 30 mins before closing (they said not too late to order) so not sure if that affected anything but food was hot, just not as crispy crunchy as I expected. A liquid sauce is added to make it spicy. The waffle fries were really crispy and the hand cut fries were a bit more soft but both were good, preference for waffle though. Mom & pop feel - order inside but there's no sit down area inside so either eat in your car, take it home or there are 2 benches on the lawn if you don't mind the company of the state bird. read more

Thanks to Nathan B for this great find! I was in the area and wanted to try something new. Honestly would've never seen this place if Nathan hadn't put it on Yelp! It's in an area of Wasilla that I don't frequent often. Small roadside eatery with only outdoor seating and a pretty simple menu. Ordering was easy they have a system to do it online or you you call it in. You can also go inside to order. It took about 20 minutes to get the food and it was a weekday night around 6pm so it's a relatively quick option! I love a good hot chicken sandwich, and I'm always looking to try new ones! So that's what I ordered along with some boneless wings. I love the amount of fry options they have here, and waffle fries are my favorite type! I feel they're very underrated. The chicken sandwich was good. It wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, but it had a nice flavor. I do wish it came with some lettuce, tomato & onion. It's only topped with pickles and Mayo. My chicken breast was an average size nothing huge, but it definitely didn't seem too small for the bun. The waffle fries were seasoned and very tasty! They have both bone in & boneless wings. I opted for boneless. They were good, nothing special. I got them with bbq sauce because I was sharing with my toddler, and the sauce had nice flavor. The food is OK, I have never eaten at Chik-Fil-A so have no frame of reference there but the chicken sandwich was just OK. The fries were soggy by the time we got our food, we were the only people there and it took quite a long time to get our food, and it is a bit disconcerting to walk in and be standing on the edge of the kitchen. There is no ambiance to this place, it is a tiny place with an office on one side and a kitchen on the other and you open the door, walk in, and you are standing in the middle of it. I was just debating which one to head to when I heard a voice say, "Come on in." Dilemma solved. "Sweet and sassy, mixed with inferno" he said. The food and service are phenomenal. I can't recommend this place enough for an amazing seafood fix. Most of the seafood like the king crab and lobster are market price "MP", you could expect to spend some money but it is well worth it. The flavors in the sauces are very aromatic and flavorful. This is a hidden gem! It's a small mom and pop shop that has really good chicken. It is a take-out place only; but they do have two picnic tables outside. My lord, ya'll! This place is a hidden gem! It's only takeout, so plan ahead. I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich with sides of waffle fries and fried okra, because I just couldn't decide. The sandwich bun was the biggest one I've ever seen, and the pork tenderloin had to be close to a half pound. The waffle fries were the best fries. I've had anywhere in my 56 years of life. I'm not sure what they dipped them in before they fried them, but they are fantastic! the fried okra, well, it's been a long time, comfort food of mine, and it certainly hit the spot. This picture was taken after I got home, and I had already eaten half of the okra and half of the fries. My husband and I finally stopped and ate at the Chicken Coop! I am so annoyed at myself that we had never tried it before. I'm going to tell you that this was the best EVER chicken sandwich I have ever eaten in my 63 years of my life. I cannot believe how fresh and the chicken was actually chicken! It was so delicious and fresh and crispy. I told my husband to turn around so I can go I personally and tell them how good my sandwich was.
