Great pho in Wasilla! I can here feeling sick, left feeling better. I got the beef stew pho. It was hot and delicious, the fried garlic really tied it all together! read more

40 dollars for a beef fried rice and 4 "egg" rolls... The egg rolls and fried rice used to be amazing - like the best I ever had! The egg rolls had an almost cinnamon flavor which was weird? The fried rice tasted more like Mexican rice and even had stuff it normally wouldn't in it (previous orders never had it made like this). I feel like I was not only ripped off but decieved, why change the recipes so much that they don't even resemble the stuff they used to be? The flavor is so strange/off for a Laotian restaurant. read more

Pho Vatsana - Beef fried rice... tastes like Mexican rice lol - Vietnamese Near Me - Wasilla, Alaska

I took my wife here for Mother's Day at her request. She asked for Thai food at a new restaurant. Our son and two grandchildren accompanied us as we had working in our yard all day. I used the Yelp to find this restaurant. It had great reviews which we learned were very deserving. We had a variety of dinners after three shared appetizers, Spring Rolls, Egg Rolls and Fried Calamari. The spring rolls with fresh vegetables and shrimp were delicious. The Fried Egg Rolls were crisp, with ground pork and vegetables, fried perfectly with no with no oily taste. The fried calamari was soft and tender cooked well and flavorful. My granddaughter and I had two different curry dishes with a cup of steamed white rice. Mine was the C-4 Seafood Combination at heat level 4. It was definitely spicy hot, with vegetables, shrimp, scallops and calamari it a tasteful curry sauce. My granddaughter had the Chicken curry C-2, heat level 2, with vegetables. read more

Great spot we found in Wasilla coming back from Hatcher Pass. My husband and I are both vegetarians so there are always limited options in these areas. But Chef Noy was accommodating to our vegan/vegetarian needs. We ordered red curry with veggie and tofu, and vegan Pad Thai noodles. Both were delicious. Definitely recommend anybody passing by this area to try. read more

Their Tom Ka Kai is Soooo Good It is packed full of powerful immune herbs and spicy warming herbs that are perfect for the cold winter months. With protein and vegetables. The coconut milk broth is rich in flavor and so light on the tongue. It always comes out so hot with a pick up order, it's absolutely perfect to bring home and cozy up with, I can never get enough I adore family owned businesses because they are so sweet and kind. If the husband is available he will always help me out to the car with my order. A real mom and pops vibe. And you must try the Tom Yum for the sweet and sour lover I could literally live off these 2 soups for the rest of my days It brings me right back to Thailand every time! read more

Rediscovered this place and am very happy to! Used to go here with my family years ago, but I don't frequent it as often because the location is a little out of my way compared to previous living locations. The other reason why I think I hadn't tried it in a while is because on their menu, it doesn't openly say that tofu is an option for curry, it just says choose chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp. But tofu is an option on another menu item so I asked and they were happy to replace it on their Mama's Chicken Curry that I ordered. In the past when I had looked up menus I thought they didn't have tofu as an option so then decided to go somewhere else, but they definitely do have it so anyone that doesn't eat meat or prefers tofu don't skip on this place! They can replace tofu for other dishes as well. We got spring rolls for an appetizer and their spring rolls are some of the better in the valley I think. Their presentation is really nice and the sauce is very good, more on the vinegary tangy side which I prefer over a peanut-y sauce. They also include 8 spring rolls instead of 6 which is nice. They are a little thinner but sometimes that's nice because they're easier to eat. I ordered the Mama's Chicken Curry and replaced chicken with tofu. The flavor of the curry was really good. Rivals my other favorite thai curry in the valley (Pho Lucky). I really need to try their red and green varieties. Plenty of veggies and a big portion enough for 2 meals. My husband got their pad thai and thai tea and really enjoyed it. Their service is really good here too, they are very friendly and prompt. Also they are open on Sunday! I always find myself craving thai food on Sundays but most of the places in the valley aren't open. Highly recommend! read more

We've eating here before and it was okay, go to place for pho was closed so decided to come back. Sorry for review but the pho was absolutely horrible. Sweet flavor and had taste of squid in beef broth. Would not come back. read more

Food - of the three dishes we ordered, two were fantastic and one was okay. Mama curry chicken and the chicken satay were fantastic. The satay came with a delicious homemade peanut sauce and some fresh pickled veggies. Excellent presentation. Mamas curry chicken was a yellow chicken with delicious potatoes, carrots, chicken, and onion. All the flavors mixed together perfectly. The rice comes separately so you can ladle the soup on top of the rice or, as I did, scoop the rice into the bowl and let it soak up the juices and curry. The Pad Thai was okay. It wasn't very spicy or peanuty. It was just missing something. The tofu didn't seem very fresh either. It was filling enough but I wouldn't order it again. Service - it wasn't very busy, but our server was mostly absent. Our water glasses weren't refilled during our meal even though they were empty when the food came out. When it was time for boxes, he did come along and refill them. Notables - the prices are very reasonable and the portions are filling. Ambiance - there was a tv playing The Walking Dead right above us. For some reason, seeing zombies wasn't the most appetizing thing. There was some music playing in the background. Upbeat, poppy even. It was a good filler for the restaurant. Cleanliness- while the restaurant booths do seem a little dated, everything was very clean. I didn't see any dust in the windowsill next to our booth and all the bottle and dishes on our table were clean. Sometimes the little dishes with chili paste and other sauces look like they haven't left the table in months. These looked like they were cleaned daily. read more

I call this the freshy fresh roll...I LOVE THAI FOOD! So I tried this place for the first time, called placed my order for xtra scrimps fresh roll, no nuts & red chili flakes. The man who answered the phone said, "No problem, we cook to customers specifications." I'm thinking, survey says! Ding! Right answer!!!! I get my fresh roll. Besty Best Roll I have ever had! They didn't scrimp on the shrimp, vegetables were on point, dipped it in sauce with a nice dash of chili, obviously made two minutes ago. I haven't ordered anything else on their menu yet! I know I need to move forward but I just can't get over their fresh rolls... I'll keep you posted. read more

Great service but.. we Came in a Sunday and ordered the fried rice and pad Thai. Fried rice wasn't bad but nothing special. Lack of veggies and small portion also a $3.50 add on for shrimp. The pad Thai however was NOT traditional at all. The sauce was like a tomato red sauce. Overly sauced and nothing like pad Thai sauce I also had 0 veggies in it. I couldn't eat it. Instead I took it home washed it off and added a tamarind sauce still not good. When I asked the server if this was their pad Thai he said it was a Lao version.. I have never heard of that or could find a Lao pad Thai recipe involving tomato sauce.. If that's the case maybe update your menu to say "Lao pad Thai" I was very very disappointed. This spot is so close to our place and thought we could be regulars. Paid $50 read more

The food was pretty decent. The curry and the tilapia was satisfying but the spring rolls definitely need some help. It tasted quite old and I feel like it could use a bit more noodles and lettuce. My dislike is when restaurants have items on their menu but when you order It, they tell you that they no longer serve it. :( read more

I would never refer to this place as a That restaurant. I went in today hoping to find Pra Ram, my personal favorite. Instead I found an argumentative waiter and saw myself out. As the customer, I felt the man was very rude and unprofessional. Maybe I'm just used to real Thai food from the lower 48, or maybe I'm just crazy to think that is you have all the ingredients to make what I want... You can probably just make it!? Terrible service and menu. I don't need to hear a spiel about how he had to take things off his menu, that weren't being ordered for an entire year. Or how expensive it is to print the menu (which could use a great overhaul of English grammar, btw!). All I wanted was veggies, shrimp, rice noodles and peanut sauce. Instead I got spoken to like an idiot, so we left. I won't go back. And I won't recommend this place. You can't only serve Pad Thai and then call yourself a Thai restaurant... Oh, and someone should tell them... It's satay, not stay. Because clearly nobody spell checked that "expensive to print" menu of theirs... SMH. It was such a waste of time, I can't even wrap my mind around how they are still open! read more

The service for pick up was good, but that was just about it. Ordered the Fresh Roll, Pad Woonsen Pad See-Ew with Chicken and Mango with Sticky Rice. I asked for the Peanut Sauce with the fresh rolls but was told the sweet sauce IS the peanut sauce although the menu states differently. The noodle dishes tasted almost exactly alike and the chicken was incredibly dry. If the Pad See-Ew noodles were the thick fresh kind, it would probably make them better, but we will not be back. read more

First time here, very impressed. Super nice staff, very polite, very helpful with the menu. Had the chicken fried rice and Mama's chicken curry, shared. Curry had just enough kick, not too spicy but very tasty. The chicken fried rice was equally yummy, had to make myself stop eating so I could have some later. Will definitely be back, the beef larb looks very good as well as the fresh rolls with shrimp. Next time! read more

This was my go to spot after work, before retirement and COVID. I returned recently when it was my turn to recommend where to eat with my weekly dinner out friends. We all had wonderful meals. Even though it was over 2 years since I was last there, I was greeted like an old friend. The service was warm and friendly. Did I say the food was wonderful? In all the years I have eaten here, I have never had a bad meal or poor service. My gang asked why I had never recommended coming here and all I could do is to wonder the same thing. We will be returning as our Friday night dinner group and i plan to fly solo with my Kindle for lunch also. What do i recommend? Everything, but i do shy away from the whole fish. Noe was kind enough once to tell me the talipia was served whole before he took my order. read more

For such a baby sized town, this place is really top shelf! Excellent, super fresh spring rolls, great noodle and rice dishes, well seasoned and prepared. The best thing is the service. Hilarious, engaging, quick, immensely polite, and fun. Loved it. Will definitely be back. There is actually a pretty decent amount of good Thai/Asian fusion places in town, but the service here made this one a clear winner over the other two I've tried. read more

Thai tea - just like I had in Thailand, but they don't skimp on the condensed milk here! Green Papaya salad - I got a 2/5 spicy level (thinking Alaskans didn't do spicy), and oh man, it was hot for me! Medium-high spice, but I am a wimp when it comes to spice. Husband got the P1, the Vatsana Soup special, which was really good. Impressively good! Glass noodles galore, and the most tasty broth you could imagine. I told the very nice man working that I had underestimated how hot "spicy" would actually be in Alaska. He replied with a laugh, "not everything in Alaska is cold!". We liked this place a lot. read more

Absolutely awful food! I tried this place based on the 4 star. My big mistake. First time eating and will be the last. The soup has wayyy too much salty taste and the beef and chicken tasted rubbery and tasteless. My husband even made a disgusted face after eating. No effort put into the food at all. The broccoli and beef was left untouched. It resembled over microwaved mush. I honestly don't know where the good reviews are coming from, because no one that knows what good food is would even give more than one star. read more
