Saw they had some noodle dishes I'd never tried before so I gave it a shot. Ordered the Kao Soy and was not disappointed. They make both the broth and noodles in house. Different than many other Asian soups I've tried. Definitely worth a try if you get the chance. Service was very quick, efficient, and friendly.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars because the service is so great but I as I keep coming back, the pho broth gets more and more bland. I can barely mix my bowl of pho without the noodles all ripping apart. The noodles are too soft or overcooked, sadly and makes the noodles too short. The tendon is still very hard and could be cooked longer for that softer, chewy texture too. Although, the pad is very delicious! It's my favorite pad thai in Anchorage. I ordered it extra spicy. Hits every time! I also order the egg rolls every time I come here, and it never disappoints. Perfect amount of filling and so crispy! Love the vibes and music here. The staff is very friendly.

    Drunken Noodle. Noodles too soft.

VERY fast preparation! I ordered through DD and I couldn't believe how fast the order was ready for pick up. Flavorful and it was nice to try a new (to me) place. I agree with the other Yelper that said the chicken (in my Kang Kiew Warn) tastes weird, so I picked it out and thoroughly enjoyed serving the rest over the brown rice. Overall, it is very sweet and needed more spice. I ordered medium spice because you just never know if it's American medium or Thai death medium and I have to fly out tomorrow and I didn't want to find out trying to hold it in until the fasten seat belt sign blinks off and spending the rest of the flight in an airplane restroom with the flight attendants pounding on the door telling me to return to my seat for landing. (Hello, Siam Spicy, oh how I miss your 7 levels of heat, even though I almost cried at level 4 and I'm no wimp.) The drunken noodle was a mixed bag as the roast pork belly and veggies were expertly fried and tasty, but the noodles were far too soft. Fresh rolls were just OK, but large and did come with extra sauce. I prefer them more firmly packed and more flavorful, but they were better after being refrigerated overnight. Recommend ordering extra rice with the curry. They also took extra steps to package the order for safe travel.

It was my first time here & will not be our last. We are moving all the way from Texas, leaving behind my parents who are from Laos & I wanted to find a place that had Laotian food that could compare to my mommas home made food. I had the cucumber salad, khao piek sen & pad Thai and I was impressed! I would highly recommend Mekong. This restaurant will be a staple for when I am missing mommas cooking & don't feel like cooking myself. Can't wait to come back! Customer service was amazing.

Came back a 2nd time and then a 3rd time.. consecutively. PAD KEE MAO: 4/5 It tasted like the Pad Se Ew but with a dash of fish sauce and basil flavor. It wasn't spicy so I added the garlic chili oil that's provided on the table and it was delicious. The star is in their noodle dishes; It's the fact that the noodle is made fresh. BEEF PLATTER: 4.25/5 Seasoned really well! It had a nice sweetness but not too sweet (think Korean Kalbi style) with a strong lemon grass flavor! Love lemongrass! It comes with a side of veggies and dipping sauce. I like my beef cooked medium and it was medium well - the only downfall. Chicken Skewers: 3/5 Light curry flavored chicken with peanut sauce dip. Chicken wasn't too dry, peanut sauce was sweet. It was ok - never had this item elsewhere so I can't compare. Not an item I'd order myself but not a bad snack to share if others wanted to. Laotian Cucumber Salad: 3/5 Like my review on the papaya salad - the taste is too mild for me. It's a good intro for people who have never had these types of asian salads. A new and surprising taste but not overwhelming. I prefer overwhelming.

Pretty decent fresh rolls. Comes with four.

I've ordered from here a couple of times and was very happy. I didn't think much of the red curry, but I really liked the fresh rolls, chicken satay, and chicken pad thai and I'm kind of picky about pad thai. Got delivery through Grubhub and it was delivered pretty fast. Will consume food from here again.

Chicken Satay. Really good. Although the peanut sauce could be a little sweeter.

I could eat here everyday and might even consider quitting my job so I can apply, lol. The bowl of noodles has everything you want, meat, veggies, carbs, drowning in a broth that is so rich and flavorful. Plus, the side of basil, sliced jalapeños, and mound of bean sprouts gives you that fresh crisp needed to complement this amazing dish. It's not uncommon to hear the distant sound of coughing around the restaurant as customers send the broth down the wrong tube from slurping this deliciousness down with the quickness!! Lastly, the service is always great and the staff is super attentive. The ambiance is fine, but the booths are a little tired and could use some updating.

Always look at newest reviews!!!…read more We saw the 4.4 red stars and thought this was gona be an amazing place. The first red flag was 1pm on week day and there was only 3 parties in the place. The one and only server was very nice, but being the only one, twice when new parties entered he would walk away. Wife ordered chicken katsu rice plate. The overall theme is everything is bland. EVERYTHING.. Her cabbage slaw/salad had a white creamy sauce, my best guess is mayo mixed with ranch but only if both was every kind of free there is, fat, sugar, carb, keto, and most importantly, taste FREE. Her rice was purple, there were purple chunks, not sure if it was potato, the rice was mushy, wet, and Bland. Her kutsu sauce was made from the same everything free ingredients. Come on man, Kutsu sauce is 3 ingredients and all three are bold flavors, how do you mess that up. But ok, they want to be fusion, maybe add some cilantro or chili. She asked for soy sauce and salt to try and add some flavor. Half way through she has me hold out my hand and pours a handful of the "salt" from the shaker. It was not salt granules, almost looked like a salt substitute. I honestly don't know what it was but when I tasted it I would be extremely generous by saying I got a 25% salt flavor. Normally, you put 2-4 tablespoons of salt in your hand and lick your finger, when you taste that, you get a powerful punch in the mouth of dam, that's salty. I was dumbfounded, if they are using that "salt" to cook with them makes since why everything is so bland. I don't want to repeat the Bland Bland Bland theme over and over. I had bulgogi, kutsu, and BBQ chicken tacos. I will skip to the end- yep, you guessed it, Bland. We did have the bulgogi egg roll, I do want to touch on this only because I was so mad at myself once we left I dug Into the reviews. These are one of the most positive commented items, BUT those comments are from over a year ago. Overall, 11$ for two small egg rolls cut in half is ridiculous. Then if you bite/taste just the egg roll, there is a 5% taste of bulgogi sauce. Which again is so explosive of a sauce. But, If you drown the egg roll in the creamy mild sriracha sauce then the egg roll is ok. If you forget what it should taste like and just concentrate on how did they make the sauce with no heat, then you could get at least a 2-2.5 star. Server deserves 5 stars, Food deserves 2 stars.

A fried ono fish burger, a seared ahi sandwich, cheesy seafood dip, and the cookies. Everything was awesome! The fish burger had lilikoi tartar sauce and the fish was super fresh tender and flaky. The ahi sando had chopped kimchi and a garlicky mayo. The dip had a touch of smoke and didn't taste fishy. The cookies were bigger than I imagined and were excellent especially with the generous sprinkling of maldon sea salt crystals. If I was forced to split hairs, I'd wished the seafood medley in the dip (shrimp, halibut, etc) were chunkier so you could identify what was in each bite. It was more whipped or creamed together. I also think the cookies would be better if they were just a little thicker, although I can see the allure of a thin crispy cookie also. The cost was pretty expensive, but the ingredients they use are fresh and high quality so you can see where the money goes. The staff were really above-and-beyond friendly. They quickly set up an extra folding table for our family when they noticed we had no where to sit. But tonight, after going to a different Thai food restaurant, who are now takeout only, which is a no-go, I needed an alternate, so I randomly selected from Yelp, a good Thai food recommendation, and when this appeared, I realised it was the place where I'd gotten the good Massaman from. However, their description states they are noted for their standout Panang. The interior is ok, not fine dining, standard tables and chairs, not too cluttered with artwork, and music was playing. As I also love Panang, I chose to have that with chicken, and husband ordered something called Khao Mu Dang. We also ordered a Thai Tea. The server was energetic, and smiled a lot. We didn't have to wait long, I was served a hefty portion of rice, and a big bowl of curry sauce. Mine came out first, and I started without him. I must say that I do agree, this is standout Panang, and it's the best I've had in Anchorage. It's just the right amount of kick. Just enough to get my nose running after a few mouthfuls. The sauce is amazing, and the chicken is plentiful, and very tender, and I do have leftover sauce and rice in the fridge for later. If it were served on its own as a soup, without rice, I'd call it "Chicken Soup for the Soul" because it surely did my soul good, even eating it alone without rice. Superb, perfectly spiced, perfectly seasoned, deliciously umami. I think I could eat this several times a week, and not feel cheated. His dish had some pretty spectacularly flavoured pork, it was delicious, and the sauce, yet again, so good, but his was what they call a "dry dish" whereas mine was "soupy" or maybe they call it wet. I don't know, all I know is, that the amount of times I was saying "mmmm" was kind of embarrassing. So, that was an absolutely delightful dinner, and I'm grateful because we'd not been anywhere in recent weeks that thrilled me like this. Will definitely be back for more. The Thai Tea was also very good.
