Oh this place is GLORIOUS. When I first moved to Anchorage a decade and a half ago, I saw this place ranked high on the list of Thai/Laotian restaurants and flagged it on Yelp as a place to visit. Sadly, it took me until now to finally visit this wonderful gem. First, I'll note that their status on Yelp has not diminished. They are rightfully popular. Its so interesting inside. There's a lot to look at. It appears to be family run. I enjoyed watching their interaction. These people are all in. They're so nice. These are the kind people you want to support in your community. And the food... dear lord. The variety and artists of the offerings. I could eat there every day for a month and not scratch the surface. I really wish I had more reasons to visit this part of town- Siam is really something special. The prices are a little higher than I expected- that was probably my only complaint. Huge restaurant and good for groups. I think there was a table of 20 when we went. I also love the wall art on the one end of the room. Service is not always the fastest but staff is friendly. Their menu is huge and I'm always indecisive when I come here. My fiancé always gets the pork belly fried rice. I do love the lunch combos so you can try different entrees. read more

Went in for the lunch special. You get two small entrées, rice, and egg drop soup with a choice of spring or fried roll. It's 18.95. The service was friendly and fast and the food was hot and delicious. I enjoyed trying two different little entrees. I got the garlic chicken and the masaman curry this time which was a fun contrast of flavor. I used to go here all the time back in the 2000s when they had a great lunch bar, but after that closed, I haven't been back often. I really enjoyed it though. I came here for lunch while running errands earlier today. Siam Cuisine is located at the corner of W. Dimond Blvd. and Angela Pl. next to the Creekside Mall and across from the Burlington Coat Factory. The dining area is spaciously laid out with a modern wood interior and adorned with ornaments and pieces native to southeast Asia. The employees are very friendly and greet you warmly upon arrival. The menu here is vast with a wide variety of Thai, Laotian, and Vietnamese dishes. It was hard to choose only because there were so many good items to pick from. I decided to go with their lunch special, $18.95 with a choice of two entrees, Chicken Egg Drop Soup, and a choice of Deep Fried or Fresh Spring Roll. Steamed rice comes with your order but you can substitute with either brown rice or egg fried rice for an additional charge. I decided to go with the Panang Chicken Curry (mixed vegetables in coconut milk curry) and the Chicken Wings covered in sweet and sour sauce and green onions. I only had to wait 10 minutes or more for my order to arrive which is reasonable given the lunch crowd that was there today. The Panang Chicken Curry was some of the best I've had in awhile, the perfect level of spiciness and flavor as well as a good amount of vegetables mixed in with tender chunks of chicken. I made sure not to waste any of that delicious curry sauce by pouring the rest on my rice. The Chicken Fried Wings were also great, juice running down my chin indicating it was perfectly fried as I took a bite. The sweet and sour sauce was a good complement for added flavor. There is no doubt in my mind that I would come back again to try some of the other items on their menu. Items to take note of for future visits include the Rama Peanut Sauce Halibut (steamed halibut with mixed vegetables and spinach topped with peanut sauce), Pho Soup with brisket and meatballs, Spicy Crispy Pork Belly with Basil Sauce (jalapenos, garlic, onions, sugar peas, and basil in oyster sauce...this one sounds like a winner), and the Bangkok Duck Curry (duck meat in yellow curry coconut milk, onions, straw mushrooms, and cilantro). They had not printed any takeout menus when I asked for one but you can view the menu in its entirety on their website. I look forward to ordering again from work during my lunch break. read more

This beautiful Vietnamese (+ Thai, Lao) restaurant, is conveniently located on Dimond Blvd. Their space is noticeably bright and clean. I love the various menu art found throughout their building. I have yet to dine in, but my family has, and they are huge fans. Siam serves beer and wine, so it's only a matter of time, before I'm here often, too. Service over the phone is always pleasant. I ordered a fried pork plate and twice they came out with a fried chicken plate instead. After the second attempt I just cancelled my order and ate nothing. Ok. First I want to apologize for all of us diving in and chowing before the photos. The smell was amazing. We could not resist!!!! The restaurant was super clean and fresh, very organized. I noticed the condiments on the table were wiped and kept clean. It was really nice not having to hand sanitize the table and everything. I felt really good about the environment. The menus were wiped and clean. There are photos everywhere of yummy food and drinks. Made my mouth water even in the entryway! The server was super patient and very polite. He was more than happy to answer all of our questions. We don't eat Thai food too often so we had a lot of questions. Kudos to him for sure! I can't remember his name but he will remember us I'm sure. . Dinner was sooo delish. I am soo excited to go back and try something new! However. I unfortunately ordered the dish with the wide noodles. Now. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the dish. The flavor is amazing. But next time. I will get the thin noodles. My personal preference is that I did not care for the texture of those wide ones. But that is me. I think everyone should try for themselves. We were all super happy and full when we left. This place is insanely amazing. It also helps confirm my theory that the best Thai restaurants in America are in Alaska. Doesn't really matter if you're in Fairbanks or Anchorage. It's funny cause I was reading reviews on another similarly named place, and they recommended the corn cakes, then when I got to this place I realized it wasn't the other place but it had corn cakes. Man, those corn cakes are seriously a reason just to go to Alaska...And now I dream about them when I'm going to sleep. I ordered the vegan tofu larb (vegan here just means they don't put the fish sauce in it, so if you're ok with fish sauce just order the vegetarian version), and it was the best larb outside of Thailand that I've had. Guam was close but this topped. This place really knows how to work the flavors effectively. 11/10 would book a flight here just to have the food again. read more

Siam Cuisine has been a go to for my family for years. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The service is excellent and the menu is varied. The food is hot and fresh and the portions are generous. We went today and had the shrimp Tom yum soup, the beef and meatball Pho, and the Mongolian beef. All were excellent. The broth for both soups were flavored perfectly as described in the menu and there were several fat, juicy prawn shrimp in the Tom yum. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Siam Cuisine in Anchorage. We enjoyed the Fresh Spring Rolls, Thai style papaya salad, and Rama peanut sauce with tofu as our choice of protein. The Fresh Spring Rolls were crisp and refreshing, complemented by a tangy dipping sauce, of course with a drizzle of grounded peanut! The Thai style papaya salad was vibrant and perfectly balanced with its spicy lime dressing. The highlight was the Rama peanut sauce with tofu--rich, creamy, and satisfying, with a hint of coconut (not sure if there's an ingredient but it tasted alike) that paired well with the chewy tofu.
