If you find yourself at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, you have to dine at Pho Vietnam 4. The business is family owned and operated. This is a popular spot to eat lunch or dinner. Authentic Vietnamese and Thai meals are served here. My lunch selection was the vietnamese egg rolls, delicious! My main course was Pho with Flank Steak and Thai Iced tea. Every visit to Anchorage, I have to eat here. Everything is made fresh. The staff is very friendly and customer focused. Awesome food! read more

Our family just loves the food from here! Our daughter's favorite is the shrimp fried rice. My wife and I love the Pho! We regularly order the Pho Tofu, Rare Beef, and Vegetable. The broth is delicious and the ingredients are always fresh and flavorful. The egg rolls and spring rolls are wonderful and have delicious sauces for dipping. Karen and her husband are delightful! Everything they do is just wonderful. I cannot recommend them enough! Their service and how they care for their customers shows in their food and in how you always feel treated like family. The restaurant is always so nice and inviting, a nice place to come for a meal. Even if you are in a rush you can always pick up and bring it home and still have an amazing food experience. read more

This pho is one of the best I've ever had. The broth was clear and perfectly seasoned. The noodles tasted fresh. Everything was ordered over the phone so I can't speak for sit down service but the person that greeted us to pickup our order had the most kind demeanor and made us feel welcome. Inside there was ample seating and it was nice and clean. read more

Back again and this place slaps! Don't sleep on it! Small run by a lovely family. So if you're in a rush to eat take your ass to McDonalds cause this is real food. Not fast food. read more

Dropped in with friends for a quick lunch, turns out not so quick. We had to wait about 5 minutes before we were acknowledge and seated when we arrived. Once we sat we were again not acknowledge for another 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. We finally placed the order for food and drinks and yet still no drinks were brought over. We got drinks (water) when the food came out. For food I ordered the sesame chicken. It came with a weird breading, not sure what it was but it wasn't good. There was also a dark brown, thick sauce on it that was super salty. Needless to say the meal wasn't good, the service wasn't good. I understand the staffing problems so I can overlook the delays with having no staff but the food has to come correct, it didn't. The food and service was really good here, they need to get back there. read more

Pho Vietnam 4 - a display case in the corner of a room - Vietnamese Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

The owner Karen is very pleasant and enjoy talking with her. The restaurant is clean and quiet. Most of all, the food is delicious.

Delicious and always fresh. I have been getting the meatball pho recently, and I highly recommend! The amount of fresh herbs and bean sprouts is generous, and the noodles are just the right tenderness. It's so convenient to pick up yummy pho right outside the Government Hill Gate. Perfect on cold snowy days! read more

On my last day in Anchorage before I drove back to the airport, I decided to go to my last Pho Vietnam chain here. I didn't realize it was near the military base, which explained the unusual empty road surrounding because the gate of the base was just down the road. I walked in and chose my seat. It was only after 11 AM, so the restaurant only had a few customers for lunch. I found it pleasant (finally) that this restaurant actually offered numerous choices in Pho, such as tripe, tendon, or other combo choices. I settled with well-done and tripe Pho. The soup was hot and delicious. Did I say the portion was very generous as well? My last morning was complete in AK due to great bowl of soup. read more

Amazing won ton soup, pho, curry- just everything! Amazing owners, everything is always fresh and hot.

My favorite Pho I think it is the best in Anchorage I can not really eat at any other Vietnamese restaurants in town

This will forever be my favorite Pho spot in Alaska. They're so welcoming it feels like you're being served by family. The food always satisfies my craving with so much flavor and comfort. Always going to come back. read more

My favorite pho! I order takeout here very frequently. I've had red curry, pho, spicy soup, Vietnamese egg rolls, spring rolls, and more from the menu. Generally the Thai food isn't as good as the other menu items, so I mostly get the soups and apps. read more

This is my favorite place to get Vietnamese food in Anchorage. Their Larb is my favorite (order the sticky rice), but the Pho or Pad Thai are great options too. The owner is soo nice, she always has a smile. I'm pretty sure she knows my voice by now from my constant pick up orders; I am literally here two or three times a week. P.s. They are also famous for their jerky. You can grab some to go. It's not gluten free though, so I can only rely on my friends who attest to its greatness. read more

Without a doubt the best and friendliest Pho joint in town. Try the Crepes the Larb the Green Papaya Salad and everything else. Just wonderful. Been going here for TEN years! read more

My favorite pho restaurant in all of Anchorage. I go about 3 times a week for lunch and I order the spicy vermicelli soup or the #145. Either way, haven't eaten in a place like this in a very long time. read more

Still one of my Vietnamese/Thai place. I love vermicelli with egg roll and the pad Thai is good too! It's in the top three places to go to get pad Thai here in anchorage. The woman who owns the restaurant is super friendly and very attentive to you. read more

The broth here is amazing! I always order veggie pho (non-tofu, all veggies) and this place hit it with the best veggie medley I have had in Anchorage! If it wasn't so stinking far away from my home I would come here quite often. I just want to let you know, do not confuse the Pho Vietnam's here in Anchorage, non are the same! They are VERY DIFFERENT! I am not a fan of 1 or 2, i'm unsure as to where 3 is. The owners here are very sweet and sincere :) If you order takeout its super quick, at least it was for me. I would ask for a little more noodles as it seems a little light compared to others. I haven't tried anything else here, so can only vouch for the Pho and their broth. read more

This is one of the best Pho places I have ever had. Price to taste value is amazing here. The Kung Pao Chicken was really good. The pho #41 was delicious. Exactly what you expect of a bowl of Pho. You don't see this type of quality often in Anchorage. read more

This place is really good. I've ate here numerous times and every time the pho is really delicious. I always get the meatball pho and it's good. Place is clean and prices are not too bad. Give this place a try. read more

The owner is very friendly, and the food is pretty good. It was a sweet surprise, as the food was very good and the owner's cheerful attitude brightened our day since it started off a bit rough. As a Vietnamese who has tried a lot of pho, it's hard to please me with just a normal bowl of pho, but I was pleasantly surprised when this pho hit one of my favorites! You really feel all the hard work put into a single bowl of soup. read more

Best pho restaurant and Thai food. The homemade noodle is amazing the meat and vegetables are fresh and flavor delicious. The owner is so sweet no matter how busy they are, she is always running around crazy. I'm a regular there and she remembers me and my usual orders and makes my dishes extra spicy just how I like it! read more

I really like this place! they have Vietnamese and Thai offerings - I would highly recommend sticking to the Vietnamese side of things unless you're getting curry. Both times I ordered a noodle based Thai dish, it just didn't hold up. The woman who always seems to be at the counter is very sweet and takeout orders never take longer than 15-20 minutes. Every time I go into their expansive dining area, there's no one there and the space is clean and comfortable looking. I just enjoying sitting at home with my big glass of wine next to my takeout. The chicken lemongrass will definitely give you your fill of sodium for the week, but used sopped up with rice, it's absolutely delicious. #114, a Vietnam homemade flat noodle dish, is AHmazing. The pho, pork rolls, pork buns and spring rolls are also highlights worth revisiting. They sell mouth-watering fragrant homemade beef jerky that's lightly spiced with what tastes like lemongrass, ginger, teriyaki and red pepper. My ONLY complaint about this restaurant is that the portions are on the small side. read more

Yummm, it's nice to have a good restaurant on Government Hill. It always smells sooo good in here. It's a real big restaurant, compared to other pho places in town. Two dining areas, all with clean tables and nice decor. There's a big aquarium in the middle of it, and a couple of televisions on the walls. The woman who runs the place is Vietnamese, and so sweet. She's so helpful and polite, and she's very prompt with bringing everything out. I don't think we've ever waited more than ten minutes to get our food. They have a lot of options on the menu, and some real good authentic Vietnamese street food-style dishes. There's five vegetarian options, and the other waitress was very nice to check on ingredients for me. I've had the ginger tofu and the stir-fried veggies, all are good if a little on the oily side. My partner has had some of the other stuff, like the pho and crepes, of which he liked them both. Their spring rolls come with this thick, peanutty sauce, and they keep all the condiments on the table which I really like since some restaurants will hardly keep a bottle of Sriracha out. It'd be nice if they had some Vietnamese-style desserts and coffees, but they're definitely not lacking in everything else. Give this place a shot. If you like Vietnamese food, you'll probably really like PV 4. read more

I had the Pho combo and it was good. Cheaper than the other Pho places and its located right outside of the fighter drive gate. The lady was busy but friendly and food came out right away. No complaints and will go back. read more

Stop by after arriving in Anchorage. Had a bowl of Pho with rare beef. Not bad quality. The place is empty due to rain and it's Saturday evening. Nevertheless, it's worth the money. Not sure about their Thai dishes since I'm a Thai and have a high standards for Thai foods dishes. read more

I was reluctant to come in but I'm glad I did! I ordered chicken pho and my friend fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce and I think red curry with beef. The spring rolls and the peanut sauce was DELICIOUS and the pho DELICIOUS and my friend his was yummy too the waitress was really nice so we were all happy haha read more

Tried the combo pho. It was good, especially the meatballs. Only complaint is it got too salty after a couple of spoonfuls. My tongue was tingling due to the saltiness after I decided it was time to quit. The vietnamese rolls (fried) we're hot and fresh when it came out. I've also had the grilled pork chop, not seasoned with all the spices it usually has, but overall it was ok. Would try this place again, but probably skip the combo beef pho. read more

one of the better pho place in town. the only thing that I'm still in shock is the price. but I guess it's normal here to have a bowl of noodle for $12. flavor of the broth is on the point. They are not super generous with their meat and substance ingredients in the bowl. However, broth is everything when it comes to pho for me. they also provide a lot of side fixings (beansprouts, basil, such) which is nice compare to other pho restaurants. definitely coming back when the weather gets cold. read more

This is my most famous Pho place here in town, it's never crowded, the service is excellent, the Pho Seafood Combo has tons of seafood (compared to the other Pho places), My jasmine iced tea is kept full and it's just a consistently great place to eat. I love the homemade beef jerky, spicy or regular, which you can buy in $5 baggies, which I keep in my car 4 those busy days and don't have time to stop and eat. I've been a several Pho restaurants, this is the BEST ONE!!!!!! Open 7 days a week, YAY- I am soo selfish. It's like a place to get away when you want to get away, excellent deal on sooo many dishes, numerous recipes and always a delight to visit. I highly recommend this Pho 4, for it is the best of the rest. read more

The real deal... if you're looking for Vietnamese style Pho. The clear broth the chef prepares for his soups is Aaaawwweee-some! Try the Chef's specials - I had the crepes which were crispy and had shrimp, pork and sprouts inside. They serve it with lettuce and basil and a sweet vinegar dip. I used the greens to wrap up pieces of crepes which I then dipped in the sweet vinegar - de-lish! Prices were reasonable; they used to, but no longer provide a military discount - kinda the wrong thing to do right outside the gate of Elmo. read more

Authentic Vietnamese and Thai food. This is the first day we travel to AK and we are glad to find this gem open on Christmas Eve close to where we stay. We had pho and pad see ew. It did appease my craving after a four month pho famine I had moved up to AK from Los Angeles for a seasonal job and was craving pho after the season was over. I arrived expecting much higher prices than LA, as that is a standard in AK, and hoped the reviews were accurate as far as the food quality. I ordered a large rare steak and tendon but was left disappointed. The broth was quite watery, the portion of meat was meager, the tendon was boney, and they skimped hard on the noodles. The service was fast and friendly. I left wanting so much more, but it was good enough to rekindle a spark that jarred memories of the real pho I had come to miss so much. read more
