First time visit for a late lunch of Tom Yum Pho with Chicken Super Bowl size for $21.00. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The restaurant is well decorated and pleasant. Good for families and groups. The menu offered many appetizers. Pho Dishes at were many and varied with a selection of meats and seafood. They offered curry dishes and the Tommy Specialties. The soup was hot and a three quart bowl. The broth was seasoned and excellent. The soup contained a variety of fresh vegetables and an ample amount of tasty white chicken. The fresh plate of vegetables included a half jalapeño sliced. The broth was termed spicy and probably was for most. Every table has a selection of sauces and spice to add. I added a half teaspoon of chili sauce to spicy mine up to just my desired heat. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys PHO LOA food. So first if you are looking for a 5 star restaurant with a fancy service this is not it! But if you want to eat some great food with flavors from Laotian food and the abeyance of a small mom and pop restaurant where the owners pour their culture and love into it then this is your spot. The roast duck sauce was amazing, the egg rolls had a nice pepper flavor, and the Pork Larb Laotian style was great I git the level 10/10 spice which was nice and spice my son in law struggled with the level 6. Should be noted that traditional styles can come with cuts of meat that some people may not like. So ask your server if you are worried. We will be back to try many more dishes. Only dish we did not think was strong was the Thai massaman curry. To thin we like ours to have a nice thick sauce. Did not mark down for this since every other dish on the table was spot on!! They had a really great service. I like the fact that they were set for customers walking through the door with menus on the table. That way you could already start looking well they're getting your water. Brilliant presentation of toppings for the Tom Yum Ka soup The soup tasted wonderful. It had the right ingredients and did not seem to be loaded with sodium. The fresh basil topping made it even more amazing. I got chicken and tofu, as I enjoy tofu. The crab Rangoon must have had real crab because it tasted a little fishy, but very good. The sauce paired well. Their timing was really great as well. The broth (order pho noodle) smelled like canned as I was driving but it turned out much better than it smelled (I feel that's rare to have the reverse... It's usually smells good and tastes meh)! Food here is actually really good. Service absolutely horrendous. It's run by Tommy and his family. So once you enter, his sons usually sit you down. There's no pleasantries or even decent customer service. It's like we walked into their house and they don't want you to feel welcome. I've been to Tommy's over 5 times and it's been the same or worse in customer service every time. The actual restaurant is spacious and clean. If you want good food with horrible service. Best pho in anchorage !! Best feature about this place is they have pictures of all their food so no guessing what's it gonna look like. The reason why Im saying their pho is the best is because it's not oily like most places and the broth is amazing , it has that authentic beef flavor , you can taste a little bit of that gamey beef flavor. They are located in a crazy random location right across from Kavas/PhoVietnam on muldoon and I'm sorry Pho Vietnam(though I don't care for you all to much) but this pho is BOMB. I use to always drive out to Pho Lena in Spenard area for Pho because they are the best in Anchorage personally. But bro. Pho Tommy is prolly neck to neck to Pho Lena hands down. I got the Tom Yum pho which I've always eaten in lil make at home pho packets and it was BOMB bro. Straight BOMB. First time I got the pho potstickers with crispy pork and it was SO KILLER. The crispy pork in the broth almost rehydrates and still maintains flavor while being crispy. I love it with a passion my G. This place is bomb as hell. I tried this place for the first time a week ago. Whenever a new Vietnamese restaurant appears in town, I like to first try either their Seafood or Shrimp, or Tofu Cold Noodle dishes. I ordered their Seafood Cold Noodle and I enjoyed the seafood in it, but felt that they could've cooled down the protein before throwing it on the noodles. The noodles were way too hot because of the sauce the seafood was cooked in. The taste was okay, but not something I'll probably order again from this specific restaurant. I do plan on trying thier Pad Thai! It sounds delicious. Their menu is huge, so even if I didn't care for the cold noodle I ordered, I still intend on trying other dishes and will update this review when I do. read more

I tried Pho Tommy for the first time today and was not disappointed. I ordered a lunch special of their Pad See-Ew. It came with a cup of their soup of the day (chicken pho.) Everything was hot, fresh, and so tasty. For the price of $9.85, this is hard to beat. It was plenty of food for a lunch time meal for one. The inside was clean and decorated nicely. Used Yelp to find close Asian food and Pho Tommy popped up. I was craving some sesame chicken and since someone previously reviewed this place as having good sesame chicken I figured I'd give it a shot. I got the lunch portion and added a order of crab Rangoon. My husband got the Masaman Curry with chicken. We were very underwhelmed with the flavors of both the curry and sesame chicken. I think I would've been better off getting food from a Panda Express. The curry seriously lacked flavor, tasted very watered down. The crab Rangoon was alright (kinda hard to mess that up). The seasame chicken wasn't battered like you'd expect and the sauce just didn't taste like your traditional sesame chicken. Best part of the meal was the side of soup that was given with the curry entree. Seemed like chicken pho? But not 100% sure. It wasn't anything special but atleast it had Good flavor. Looking at the other reviews it seems like a bunch of people who possibly know the owners added 5 star reviews to get this place on the map. First timer here! My go to pho place is across the street.. but because price keeps skyrocketing up, I decided it was finally time to find a new place.. Yelp brought me here! I called in an order and the man who answered did not sound very happy. He even hung up on me after I finished my order.. but I brushed it off. It's fine. I walk in to pick up my order. First thing I notice- none of the workers are wearing masks. Don't get me wrong, I'm not terribly bothered by no masks.. I was just surprised. Thought I'd share this just in case you might not like that. The woman who helped me cash out was very sweet and friendly. Pricing is very reasonable! Now, on to the food! I got the small beef and meatball pho and the pork pad see ew. When I saw how small the soup container was, I was a bit worried I had ordered a snack and not a meal. But wow! They are very generous with the noodles! And satisfying amount of meat! Don't let the small container fool you.. I thought the amount of broth was not going to be enough for the amount of noodles they gave me.. but I finished my meal with broth left over! I was pleasantly surprised how much food the small was. I want to say, the amount of noodles I got was about the same amount, maybe a tad bit more than I would get at pho Vietnam! The taste however, is just okay in my opinion. But that may be because I'm still used to a different taste. Oh, they did not give me sriracha and hoisin sauce for my pho. Instead I got garlic chips and chili oil. I'll make sure to ask for sriracha and hoisin next time. The pork pad see ew was AMAZING! I don't know what else to say about this dish.. it did not disappoint! Definitely getting that again! I don't know what happened to this restaurant. This was literally my favorite place to eat and today's experience changed that entirely. I can only suspect there has been a change in management, and here's why... service went from exceptional to taking 40 minutes. Once delivered, the sesame chicken was really small and unremarkable in flavor, previously world class pho is now just clumped noodles with fatty meat and the Pad Thai is made with a BBQ sauce. There is clearly new ownership and an enormous amount of work needed to regain their former glory. Regrettably, I will not return again as this is not the restaurant I once loved. read more

This is my favorite restaurant so far! It's the best place for authentic thai and lao food! The owners are lovely and they have great customer service who knows about all the dishes when asked. Have been there several times with my family and haven't had a bad thing yet. They are very kid-friendly and always accommodate our kids with extra bowls and cups with lids.
