The chicken was a bit dry but I think that's common since the hot broth can easily overcook it. The service was fast and friendly. The gentleman working there was funny and said, "See you tomorrow!" when we were leaving. He seemed to be joking with everyone which made for a fun atmosphere. Okay let me get this cleared up before anything. I loved this restaurant for a while but a new experience will prevent me from coming here ever again. I visited this store on 12-27-25. Everything was normal and the food was delicious as expected. The service was the usual quick and clean as it's always been. However when I was ready to go I asked for my bill, which came out to a total of $61. I give the normal 15% which is a 9 dollar and some change tip. I leave thinking everything is good. I wake up a couple days later to check what I have in my account, only to see that someone in that restaurant up charged their own tip. Giving themselves a whopping 42% tip, having charged $87 on my card! That's a $26 dollar tip that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge and filed a prompt police report for fraud. I will never visit this place again as they have lost my trust. It's a shame really. read more

I came here to have pho because I was in the mood for noddles but I switched to my favorite ribeye and sticky rice. Love dipping both in the rice vinegar fish sauce and eat with shredded carrots and radish. I also love to have their egg rolls with papaya salad. I'm new to AK and haven't tried that many pho places yet to compare but I'd come back to this place for the bun bo hue (spicy noodle soup)! Most people get the regular pho tai (sliced raw beef with noodles soup) but I like to try places with bun bo hue to judge and this place didn't disappoint! Best Vietnamese crepes that are LOADED in Anchorage!! Love the slight heat of the yellow curry, if I'm honest I could even do without all the potatoes, carrots and chicken it's SO good! The rice served with it was nice, moist, and stickkkyy (hehe) The beef was rare when it came out which is perfection as it cooks more in the broth. Food comes out really quick, hot, and fresh. I love all the open lighting with the windows in there as well. Lack of star because of the service our waitress was talking on her AirPods and kept missing questions we were asking or requesting. - & that is a common issue here. I'm from Orange County, CA, home of the largest Vietnamese population outside of Vietnam. There's a ton of Vietnamese food, especially pho. I have to say, I'm impressed with the pho here. It's top notch and ranks very high on my list. I'm in Alaska for a business trip and I typically would not go eat pho. However, it's cold outside, snowing, and my hotel doesn't have a restaurant. I looked for all the restaurants within walking distance and I found this one. At first, I was skeptical. How good can it be? I was just hoping it was edible. The restaurant was crowded even though it's past lunch hour. I sat down and he gave me a cup of ice water. I ordered the pho special and it came out within three minutes. I was impressed that the restaurant served mint along with bean sprouts. Wow! When the pho came out, I immediately tasted the broth before I added sriracha and hoisin sauce. It was delicious. I didn't taste any msg. The cost was $17 and the pho had plenty of meats. I was full. Even the noodles were good! The noodles weren't clumped together. I was quite impressed! The owner came by and we struck a conversation. He said that most of the pho restaurants are owned by the family members so the taste is similar. I highly recommend this pho restaurant. read more

This pho house is unique in that their main specialty seems to be...pho. (some other pho places seem to feature many Thai/Laotian dishes as well. In fact, sometimes the pho can take a back seat) They've got all the classic pho variations you could think of, and you've got all the various accoutrements at your table. this place was "not good". I walk in to order the man rushed me into my order ordered for me before I could look at the menu. I had a ban mi sandwich and it was dry the meat was cold and it had no veggies. while I waited I got extra sauce. the man stopped me he said we have some in your box. he lied. when I hit the road, I noticed he replaced the regular sauce you normally get with the sauces I got. he bold faced lied to me. Pho Vietnam has one of the tastiest broths I've had in a while. Definitely surprised that Alaska has a decent pho place! But I'm still not used to paying $10+ dollars for a bowl of pho compared to the $6 bowl of pho in Cali. The regular bowl is a decent size. They took out their trash through the front door while we were eating and that was disgusting. They should do that after hours or through a service back door. I am Cambodian and hang out with a ton of Vietnamese people and know what amazing pho should look and taste like. This place is garbage. I am ashamed of this place honestly. I don't know how they got so many great reviews, makes me sad. I hope people get a chance to taste better Vietnamese food. Honestly I know there are not a lot of great places to eat in Anchorage, let alone great Asian places, but steer clear of this place. OK. I really love this place. I've been here enough times to say the food is consistent, delicious and extremely fast. Definitely one of my favorites in Anchorage. I still still think all their dishes are over priced by a dollar or two, but I won't quibble given how predictably delicious their food is. I've never waited more than 5 minutes for my food, which I find astonishing since they are always extremely busy. I like it... but I don't. While their food is delicious, namely their pho of course, I can't help but always feel extremely rushed. The workers here seem to want to get you in and get you out ASAP. I get that they want to move tables but it's irritating feeling like you have to scarf down a huge bowl of hot soup in just minutes. On a happier note, I recently tried their Tom Yum soup. It's a Thai soup made with lemon grass. I think they use they're pho broth because it had a hint of pho flavor. This was the best Tom Yum I've ever had! Overall it's good. The thing about pho shops is that they're all different and as weird as it sounds, I have different pho moods. Some of the different things I look at when I'm trying a pho spot for the first time are 1) quality of vegetables 2) clarity of broth (vs cloudy or fatty) 3) if meat is raw when it comes to the table or already cooked 4) if there are shallow plates/bowls provided on the table, among other things. I liked the quality of the vegetables when they arrived at the table, but I don't believe any jalapenos were available which was a bummer. Their broth is lighter and very clean, which while not my absolute favorite in town is still a winner in my book. Broths like these I don't add as much to it because I enjoy the fragrance and the flavor thought I personally don't feel it has as much depth as others do. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the steak was still raw when it arrived at the table, because while it can be a preference I feel like it's nice to be able to see the quality of the meat that goes into my soup! And it was cut super thin like I like, cooking well in the broth and tender to chew. We also noticed that the shallow plates were provided, which we are always surprised to find NOT provided at other pho spots and we normally have to ask for so we can mix condiments on the side and dip into it. Other than pho we also got extra spicy papaya salad which actually had decent cook. "Extra spicy" to a lot of places usually isn't as spicy as we like, so I'm glad I got a kick out of this one! Overall this place isn't my first pick for pho but I'd definitely consider it when I'm in the mood for what it has to offer and I'm nearby. I'm not looking for fancy decor or an anticipating waitstaff, I just want a good bowl of pho and this place has it. read more

The best pho place in Anchorage, in my opinion. My go-to order is pho beef extra meat, an order of egg rolls (fried rolls) and either a lemonade (lime juice, sugar, ice, delicious) or a Thai tea. The pho beef broth is clean and beefy, perfectly simple and soul satisfying. Everything is always fresh yet quick to come out. The staff are friendly and if you're a regular, they'll quickly learn what you consistently order. I go here all the time and it feels like family. They know my entire family, know what everybody eats! The atmosphere is relaxed, usually fairly busy to slammed. That being said, Pho Vietnam is a well oiled machine and every one moves smoothly so customers ebb and flow with ease.
