I have reviewed this restaurant before and it is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Wasilla. It is decorated with Thai pictures and very clean and bright. It is located conveniently off the Parks Hwy in the Shopping Center with the Carr's Grocery Store. It has ample parking in the large lot. It is family owned and operated with very efficient and friendly staff. The soup broth was seasoned with several large shrimp, onions, fresh sliced mushrooms. It comes with a cup of jasmine white rice. I asked if it was spicy and the waiter nodded. It is mildly spicy for most Americans taste. I usually order extra spicy or a dish of Thai chili sauce to spice mine up. I didn't today so taste and decide if you want it spicer. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like Thai and Pho cuisine. It would be good for small groups and families. They accept credit cards. read more

I came to try this place for the thai food, and was happy with it. I got the chicken curry, and an order of egg rolls. The curry was good, full of flavor, and I liked the vegetable assortment in it. The egg rolls were thin and crispy, and the sauce had a nice zip to it. Very good! read more

We had spring rolls, a California roll, cashew chicken (#18) and chicken panang. Service was blah, not super attentive but mediocre...didn't get chopsticks with the sushi and no drink refills. The curry was average, not spicy. The cashew chicken was bland too. Thai food demands a modicum of heat to enhance the flavor and unfortunately it was absent. Ok so I've only door dashed from pataya's sushi. I've driven by this restaurant a few times but I'm due to stop in. This restaurant is located by Carrs in the cute little quaint shops off to the side. Through my door dash experience with Pataya..they have been really good. My order is never wrong and food is consistent..timing on their part is good too..living off of KGB..food is still hot. I've ordered a few items from their menu: Pad Thai chicken and shrimp ( a few times), pho tai (beef), house fried rice, sweet rice, egg rolls. Not all at once but over time for lunch. I love the pad Thai! It's super good! The noodles are perfect and it's not mushy ( can't stand mushy pad Thai). It's super flavorful and the portions are good..I usually have left overs for dinner too. The Pho soup is really good too..I would order this when I'm not feeling well. It does the job. The sweet rice and egg rolls are good..not soggy and it taste awesome. The fried rice..ok so it's eh..the one time I ordered it..it was a bit salty for my taste..so I didn't finish it. That's the only thing..maybe an off day? No clue. I do enjoy the food from this place and will continue to order from here. I will try my best to stop in when time is there for me (hoping). If I do..I will definitely give the sushi a shot..I just want to be in person to try it and not order. I will update for sure. read more

I came in around 130pm and I was the only patron, which had me slightly worried. I was also worried because the restaurant had photos of all of the food plastered all over the walls. Chef Ramsay says that if a restaurant has good food that they never need to showcase it via photos. The other thing that worried me was the constant use of the microwave... Was anything fresh? When was the food prepared? Since I came in for a quick lunch I ordered the chicken satay and a dragon roll, hoping to get an idea of the restaurant and decide if it was worth returning to in the future. The chicken satay was tasty, the peanut sauce was chilled while the chicken was piping hot. I enjoyed this. The dragon roll on the other hand...the rice was soggy and there was a LOT of rice. The eel on top was of good quality, that was nice. I can't say that I really enjoyed the roll due to the mushiness of the rice. However, I will come back because I do want to try the pad thai and the pad woon sen in the future. I just won't be ordering sushi from here again. read more

Found this little gem in Wasilla. Best tom yum soup I've had in a while. Filled me up. Had shrimp tempura for appetizer and my boss had one of their curries. Boss said taste was excellent. Great experience. I would come here again. read more

Foods okay, service is really hit or miss. If u want okay food and ur not in a rush it's not a bad place.

The Pad Thai is mediocre, needs more sauce & bit more vegetation, shrimp is spot on, chicken over cooked.. Crab Rangoon is delish... the little boy at the drive thru window had a smile while he ate is kids meal from McDonald's. I had to tip that little guy. the server was quick & polite. Overall as a whole this place is a 5. I need more sauce w my Crab Rangoon, soy sauce isn't going to cut it. read more

First time here and the reviews looked good. It's in the clock tower and the building is really cool but they are moving as of today. Walking in I had doubts...seemed dingy and uninviting and the welcome was right there with it. The food however was excellent. We had a bit of everything...sushi, yakisoba, tempura, gyoza, fresh rolls, and terryaki. Everything was great, really great. I'm only giving this a 4 star because the staff acted like we were aliens and the environment itself was meh...maybe moving had to do with it but "to go" may be a good option next time. I didn't take pics like I usually do because the lighting was horrendous (Hence, describes as dingy above) so the food didn't look as good as it actually was. Next time! read more

Came here with my aunt, it was delicious. The server/cashier introduced herself as Veronica and chatted with us our whole visit, it was refreshing and I felt warmly welcomed. She was very nice. As an appetizer we ordered the fried spring rolls. They were hot and tasty. Very good. I ordered the Paneng curry with chicken. Iam a Paneng curry fanatic. It's what I look for at Thai places. It was sooo good!! I could not stop thinking about it after I left. It was in a delicious curry sauce, had lots of vegetables, and delicious thin cuts of white chicken. Just how I like it! With white rice on the side. The chef came out and asked how our food was. She was also very nice! After we ate, we stayed and chatted with the front of house worker. Time flies. Another year has gone by, another birthday lunch for my girlfriend has been eaten at Pataya Sushi. I'm really sorry to say I didn't get back there sooner! I had forgotten it was so good! The atmosphere is cozy, and the food is freshly made and delicious. I tried a Thai iced tea this time, along with a plate of Pad Thai. Both were delicious. The waitress was attentive and friendly. We were there right at noon, and while they weren't busy when we arrived, they were busy toward 1:00. Definitely a good place. I am going again before another year passes! read more

The pictures are Pad Thai, Alaska roll (the one with tobiko), a Spicy Tuna roll (best in the valley!), and a large Sashami Combination. This is all prepared as a take out order. What you see in the pictures is what I found at home. You will not be disappointed with the quality or taste. The fish is fresh and so good. My favorite Thai place in the Valley! We have never eaten here, but have had take out numerous times and even a delivery once. Keep going back here. We have never had anything we haven't liked here. The portion sizes are good and service is fairly quick. When we tried delivery, it was a 45 minute wait and only $3 delivery charge. Very reasonable, especially since in this area it's mostly just pizza places that deliver. Never eaten in the actual restaurant so can't say much for customer service etc. read more

Ate here again for the first time in a few years! Used to come here growing up fairly frequently. This is the first place where I ever tried fresh spring rolls and pad thai. Tonight, we ordered both of those things and they were just as good as I remember! The spring roll sauce is more on the tangy side which I prefer compared to some other places whose spring roll sauce is too peanuty and is basically peanut butter. The sauce here still has crushed peanuts on top though which goes super well with the tangy flavor. The rolls themselves are fresh and tasty. The pad thai was fantastic--thinly cut chicken (which I think tastes better than big chunks of chicken I've had at other places) and really good shrimp pieces. There's something about the pad thai here, I don't know...it's just good. I like that they include cucumbers on the side too. It adds some freshness. The lemon on the side too was great. The other thing we ordered which I hadn't tried here before is a rainbow sushi roll. It was good, but not worth the $15.95. It's advertised as having yellowtail but there was only tuna, salmon, and shrimp. The fish was good, but quite thin slices and small. The roll wasn't bad at all, it was quite good, just not worth the price tag for what it is in my opinion. The crab and avocado on the inside was good, and so was the rice. I probably wouldn't order the rainbow roll again but would try something simple like a California roll. Overall the meal was great and we will be back. They definitely have the best pad Thai in the valley! & honestly the best spring rolls too. read more

We were craving some Thai food in The Valley, and had yet to try this restaurant until last night. The restaurant itself is small but comfortable, and a nice place for couples or small groups. The menu isn't huge, but there's plenty of variety. Although their menu contains all sorts of Asian cuisine, we stuck to what we were craving and just ordered some yellow vegetable curry and a glass noodle dish. Both of these ended up being fantastic. If all their other Thai food is on par with the meal we had, this is the best Thai food in The Valley. Why does it seem like the more that someone tells me how good a restaurant is the worse it turns out to be? I went to Pataya on a Friday night. It was fairly busy. I sat at a small table & had a Thai ice tea that was very good. A waitress handed me a menu. The first clue that the evening was going to be difficult was that there was no separate sushi menu with a pencil to check off how many pieces of sushi you wanted to order. The second problem that arose was that my waitress had no idea what was on the menu & ordering in English & Japanese left her stumped. I ordered a lot of sushi. At least I thought I did. The waitress brought over food that I didn't order & even double helpings of dishes that bore no resemblance to sushi. After I had eaten six pieces of delicious salmon I was presented with the bill. I just looked at her and asked her where the rest of my sushi was? She didn't seem to understand and fled to the kitchen returning with an older woman who told me that every other item I ordered they didn't have! I thought about trying to re-order but sensed that it wouldn't be a good idea. So I paid the bill and left. Cliff Notes: Good sushi, terrible service. read more
