This is my go to Sushi place in the Valley, as well as their sister location in Eagle River. I see them as Asian Fusion, Thai and Sushi with several classic and well recognized pan-Asian dishes. The service is fast and friendly making this an ideal lunch spot if you're on a tight schedule or a leisurely meal as you will it be pushed out the door. Clean! It's always clean The Sushi and Sashimi is fresh and well prepared and served beautifully. Pro Tips: I'm not a fan of the Pad Thai And Monkey Brains are delicious but feel free to order with just the spicy tuna and hold the imitation crab FYI their new location, just 100 yards from their current location, should be open next year.

Monkey Brain. Don't let the name turn you off. It's an avocado bomb of deeelish.

I've been here multiple times, enough to have tried at least 50 percent of the menu, which is relatively unchanging (and glad for that, because it's good!). I have whittled my preferences down to a couple of servings of maguro, with hot green tea. Then a Monkey Brain, sometimes with a house roll. They are proud of what they serve (as they should be) so be prepared to spend a bit of green. Reservations are not required but the wait is usually short. While the faces of the service team change frequently, they are always polite and attentive. Looking forward to enjoying dining in their tripled-in-size new location, just a few steps away.....still under construction at the time of this review.

Came here with my husband after passing it many times. The inside was pretty and welcoming with gorgeous paintings of Asia! We were seated immediately and serviced super fast. Everything came out insanely fast and the food was pipping hot! It was great! We ordered egg rolls, sesame chicken and teriyaki chicken. All of it tasted great and well made. The portions were also much larger than we expected so I'm glad I didn't order a side of soup or salad. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Although, there was a young girl who looked like Wednesday Adam's that was running food; she was stomping around so loudly you could hear her moving around in the kitchen area from the front sitting room and feel the whole floor bouncing around. It was incredibly distracting. She also was throwing the plates of food and on the tables very abruptly. I'm sure she was just super busy but it was wild. Overall, I highly recommend this place! Great Asian food, especially on a cold windy day! Will absolutely return!

Very nice ambiance, and attentive staff. I was eating alone following an appointment, and was offered a seat at the sushi bar, or booth. I sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed a Thai tea. Loved the tall glass and the cute straw that had a swirl in the top, and it was delicious! I went with a side order of dumplings, and the crunch roll as my main entree. Was all very yummy and really hit the spot.

Disgusting practices from top to bottom, I have wondered about the cleanliness of the silverware a few times and now there is an inspection that says the dishwasher wasn't even hooked up to the detergent...disgusting. Also, the owner admitted publicly to smoking on the premises, and his private comments to underage girls have been made available by several whistleblowers.

Service is very attentive and the establishment is super clean and well appointed. The food is extremely consistent but prices are higher than other places in town like Zushi. I don't think their Thai dishes are that flavorful but their sushi and other Asian dishes tend to be very good. Their calamari appetizer is the best ever. I really like their crab dip too.

This is a really beautiful restaurant with very attentive staff. We ordered from the lunch menu and the dinner menu. From the lunch menu we ordered the Panang Curry with Chicken ( includes 4 pieces of a California Roll) and a Fire Toll from the dinner menu. The lunch menu comes with your choice of soup. We chose the Hot and Sour Soup. The soup was excellent. I could have used a straw and a bigger bowl of this deliciousness!! We received the lunch order of curry fairly quickly. This would be very convenient for folks who have a limited time to eat during the work day. The roll came shortly after and was fully loaded! No skimping on this one! Now, down to the food. The soup was exceptional, the roll was great ( it was a fried roll) and the curry was decent. Not sure if they always add a heap of Thai basil stems on top.... But they did in this situation. I did not care for that. Unfortunately, there was a lack of depth of flavor in the curry. It just felt underdeveloped. However, the portions are very generous and the price is right.

Nice lunch at Basil Ginger. The lunch specials are just the right size and price is right. Nicely flavored lo mien, the shrimp are massive and crispy. Nice find. Highly recommend.

Second time going here, first time for my boyfriend though and he said it's in his top #3 places to go in Wasilla/the valley to eat now!! The atmosphere is always immaculate here, even when they're busy it's comforting and professional. I think the carpet helps dull the louder noises. The staff were very sweet and professional, as soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles and seated immediately. The food was amazing! They give you the perfect amount and I've yet to be unsatisfied with their menu. Pics below show what we got. Will be coming back!

We went in the evening time for dinner, and there was calming music. The food was delicious, and when we left my tummy felt GOOD. What we ordered seemed like authentic Japanese food (I'm not an expert though). We ordered spring rolls, Sushi with different kinds of sashimi that came with DELICIOUS miso soup and salad. The miso soup and salad were appetizer sized so not super big but prepared the belly for the rest of the food. We also ordered the baked mussels and jasmine tea. Homemade soy sauce was delicious! Prices affordable and reasonable for the meal. Spent less than $30 for two. But we only ordered one main, the rest were sides/drinks. Truly fantastic. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

The food is consistently a 9/10--perfect vegetable tempura, incredible house-made ginger dressing, and generous bento boxes that come with miso soup and salad (and still leave you with leftovers). Favorites: teriyaki chicken, beef & broccoli, and the tempura shrimp--highly recommend. I was really disappointed to recently see a "For Sale" sign. This place is a gem, and it would be a loss to see the quality change. Service is polite but a bit disengaged, and the atmosphere is simple and sometimes noisy--but honestly, you come here for the food. If you're a foodie, go while you can. This place is absolutely worth it. It's a hidden gem!

The menu has a good selection of items but isn't overwhelming like some places. The food is good but if you like spice I would recommend a spice level of 7+ otherwise it is pretty mild. All of the dishes are good, especially the curries and stir fry options. The seafood options are cooked perfectly with tender shrimp and scallops. The crispy wings are really good while the crab Rangoons are average.

I didn't see my old friend(the man that always loved how spicy I could eat his food) but there was a young man, quieter, but very polite! They have done some nice updating in the last years, and it was a clean and very pleasant atmosphere. Service was fast(very quiet night), only a few patrons & a couple takeout people in/out. Food was very good, pictured is the Kim Himaparn(sp?) & trad Pad Thai. Not pictured, the fresh spring rolls- not to be skipped!! The only thing I will say, is I told him "very spicy" for the Pad Thai(I LOVE spices, handle them way too well) and it was not spicy(for me). Maybe he took a look at my average middle age white woman self and thought I couldn't handle it, but I would have loved it to be a bit "more"! Def will be back again, I didn't have enough people to order "extra" things to taste, and now I'm craving some curry and peanut chicken! and MORE spring rolls, always get the fresh spring rolls!
