They were at Oktoberfest in Fremont so we stopped for snacks. We all got the Cheese Luuvas except for one person who got the Meat Luuvas. They were pretty speedy with getting the food out and were friendly. It was a bummer that they didn't have the vegan one available. I ate at The Cheese Pit during a trip to the Fremont Sunday Market. The staff were welcoming and pleasant to interact with. Luckily I didn't have to wait too long to receive my order, as it was raining with no available covered areas. I ordered the Turkey Bliss, which was good overall, but the quantity of ingredients in it made it very messy to eat. My hand was covered in oil and sauce by the end of it. The cheese pull was not as exciting as I've seen, but the taste was mouthwatering. We got The Old Skool and Meat Luvva's. The Old Skool - a fantastic, basic grilled cheese on sourdough which is key. Cheese pull was weak here but loved each bite. Meat Luvva's - this was surprisingly filling, but I should've expected that with all the meat. A sweetness accompanied each bite due to the honey mustard which could be disguised as maple syrup if I was blind folded and only had one bite. It was pretty sweet. Have a back up Plan! I would give Brian and the Cheese Pit a zero rating if I could. Booked Brian and the Cheese Pit Food Truck for my son's graduation party. He was a no-show. Left 60 people hanging. No text, no phone call, no email. The only way I found out was calling after he was supposed to have started serving. He claimed his truck broke down, didn't have my contact information (although we had communicated to each other multiple times), and said it was too difficult to organize contact information so he didn't call/text/mail. I have been so looking forward to trying out this food truck. They update their locations on FB page. This time around it was a place that was near to me and I couldn't miss. We reached them at South Lake Union Saturday market with many other good eats food truck. Reached their as early as we could to avoid traffic. Got parking after a while and rushed to the truck. We ordered their:- The pepper bomb - OMG! It was bomb be it in flavor and spiciness. The sauce that they apply to the sandwich pairs so beautifully with the hotness from the jalapenos. Soft sourdough bread with melted cheese sweet tangy sauce and spicy jalapenos. I was in heaven. My husband who is not a cheese person, (I know, how could he not, hehe) loved grilled cheese for the first time ever. It was that good. I'm going to start with how incredibly excited I was to finally try the Cheese Pit. I am a cheese fanatic and I would constantly see their food truck parked in Woodinville but never open. The moment I realized they were actually open in down town I cleared my calendar and made some lunch plans. I had the Turkey Bliss, with extra cheese of course - which includes turkey breast, bacon, swiss cheese and a honey-garlic mustard sauce. It was pricey, but I was willing to pay. At first glance I was satisfied with the amount of cheese and at first bite I was impressed with how they seemed to grill the turkey along with the cheese. It immediately went downhill from there. There was SO MUCH honey-garlic mustard sauce I couldn't even hold the sandwich to eat it, sauce was dripping out from every side. It was a mess. And it completely overpowered the turkey and the cheese. I ended up having to eat it with a knife and a fork. I'm not sure what type of cheese-lover would ever consider drowning out the taste of the cheese with garlic and mustard....but the fact that they did when their name implies they are a cheese pit makes me sad. It felt a little deceiving. I was so disappointed with my experience, especially after anxiously waiting to give these guys a shot. I'll give them another chance again, and try something different or perhaps ask for light sauce next time, simply because I refuse to accept that a food truck with the name "Cheese Pit" could be this underwhelming. read more

The customer service was appalling. The staff were unbelievably rude and displayed clear racist behavior. At a family-friendly trunk and treat event on 10/26, a child asked a simple question about whether the bread they serve contains egg. The woman didn't even bother to check and dismissed the child outright. If they choose to participate in family-friendly events, they must know the ingredients of the food they serve and treat everyone equally, regardless of age. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately. **Please do not bring this truck to any future events. read more

I can't review the food because they didn't show up to our event. They canceled 15 minutes prior to the time they were supposed to be serving food to 200+ people. Who does that! Their food is probably good but think twice before hiring them to cater your event. One star is way to generous so they get a negative 1 star for all the stress they caused. I attended a corporate event yesterday and Cheese Pit was one of 2 trucks that was scheduled to be there. Employees arrived on site, but owner had the keys to the truck and couldn't be bothered to bring the keys or truck because they had to watch the Seahawks get clocked by the Rams 30-13. I'm sure this was incredibly embarrassing for the employees, but if this experience is any indication, they're probably used to their boss screwing them over. Because there was only 1 food truck as opposed to 2, there was a massive line of people and it took individuals up to 45 minutes to get food. The other food truck (Now Make Me a Sandwich) was great and had the work ethic, integrity, and gumption that the owner of Cheese Pit obviously doesn't. Fortunately this inability to follow through on a commitment couldn't ruin our picnic. However, I will attribute the Seahawk's poor performance to being in the same building as this individual and their contagious apathy. read more

Not reliable. Attempted to have these guys out for a major event. We double checked, in writing, that they would be there and on time. They confirmed that yes, they would be. We offered them $100 to be on time. The day of the event, right as we were expecting them to arrive, they called and said they'd be an hour late. Then, later, they said they would be four hours late. We told them to not show up at all. My personal opinion, but the owner sounded stoned on the phone. I also suspect they double booked another event to start at the same time they were supposed to be leaving our event, and were going to try and bail on us early to get there. I'm dairy free and gluten free. I figured a grilled cheese food truck wouldn't be able to accommodate my dietary needs, but I was fully ready to indulge and suffer the consequences because the smells coming from their truck were absolutely intoxicating. To my surprise they offer the "Goodie 2 Shoes" sandwich on gluten free bread and vegan cheese.. I was BLOWN AWAY by the flavor and even more so by the customer service.. It can be awkward ordering when you have food sensitivities.. You get the occasional eye roll or sigh that something has to be taken off or swapped out but these folks were super understanding and great to conversate with. 5 stars for flavor and friendliness!!!! I had the privilege of trying nearly EVERY sandwich on the menu over the weekend. Everything was so delicious and such a treat!

We had the Cheese Pit out for a private event last weekend, and it was fantastic! Brian, the owner, was very responsive to my inquiries leading up to the event, he arrived to the event 30 minutes early, he and his staff made delicious grilled cheese sandwiches that pleased our whole crowd of children and adults alike, and their service was fast and friendly. Brian checked in with me at the end of the evening to make sure everything went well. Additionally, despite the estimated guest count I initially communicated to Brian, he charged me for the minimum amount based on the number of sandwiches ordered, and I appreciated his honesty. We would gladly have The Cheese Pit back for events in the future, and we will likely visit them wherever they may be setup for pop-ups. Highly recommend! read more
