I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at The Bygone. We were lucky to have made last-minute reservations while visiting family in Baltimore. As you enter The Four Seasons, you are escorted to the rooftop, The Bygone. The elevator opens up to panoramic view of the Harbor and lively nightlife. Our reservation was for cocktails, only, so we were escorted to a cocktail table across from the bar. There was a DJ for the evening, it wad the perfect mixture of people watching and provided entertainment. My date and I ordered old fashions, which were perfectly made. So much so, I was quite tipsy by my 2nd. All in all, The Bygone is the perfect atmosphere for a late night elevated experience. The only caveat is coming down at the end of the night, which you have to wait for the elevator for. read more

My brunch experience was amazing. As you walk in, you are treated to some amazing art work, ultra modern decor and spectacular views of the inner harbor and Baltimore in all directions. Our server was a delight and offered light conversations as we enjoyed our time there. It's so nice to be reminded why we love this place. They first provided a complimentray white wine because there was longer than average wait of about 25 minutes. Then our waitress Blair and her co-worker Shanika were so great to go out of there way to serve our every desire as its always best to try to get near a window. I choose this restaurant for an elegant brunch experience with family for my mom's birthday. The views are spectacular of the Baltimore sky line weather sunny or cloudy. This restaurant is located on the 29th floor housed inside the Four Season Hotel. There is a special elevator to get up to the restaurant. Parking is definitely tight in the area however, they have expensive garages near by. I made reservations however, I recommend the early seating instead of the later seating. My first experience was not the best however, the management staff definitely made up for it with a return invite back. The food selection includes a craving station, omelettes, waffles, raw bar and the cheesy grits were delicious. Also, the meat on the craving station was a bit rare however, you can ask your server to take it to the kitchen to be cooked to your liking. The food selection is limited for the cost. There is a dessert bar with assorted sweet treats. The staff wished and provided a complimentary ice cream sundae for the birthday celebration. The bathrooms were clean and ready for bathroom selfies. The outdoor patio have some seating outside to enjoy the view after a great meal. Out of all the years I've worked and lived in Baltimore, I never had made my way to Bygone, until now. We entered the Four Seasons and there were many signs that indicated where the rooftop bar was located. Luckily since we had a reservation, we were able to skip the line. We got upstairs and I exited Baltimore and entered NYC or Toronto. The vibe was immaculate. We had a table reserved luckily, so got a view as well. We started off with two drinks which were pretty good. I enjoyed that they had pictures of the drinks on the menu; was a nice small, but helpful touch. Even though we came from dinner, the sides and desserts looked appetizing. We ordered the: 5 cheese Mac n Cheese 5/5 - it was ooey gooey and melty. The cheese pull game was so strong! I was so full, but I couldn't stop eating! Crème brûlée 5/5 - honestly the ice cream made this dessert. It was the perfect amount of crispiness on the top, to creamy on the inside, to cold ice cream. The music was very much old school rap and hip hop and pop. It didn't really seem to match the vibes of the place, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it. I can't begin to talk about the service though. Seriously 100/10. Our waitress was so attentive and answered all and any questions we had about the food or drinks. We even wanted to walk around/go outside that she was kind enough to make sure no one sat at our table. There was a mishap with the bill and the sweet girl would not even accept the tip we wanted to give her, but I still made sure she got it! She also did a small little celebration for my friend's birthday with sparklers and an ice cream dessert. You might even lose all sense of time and space like we did from intoxicating views and libations one after another.service was unerring, which made it hard to depart, so we didn't we mingled among the city views until the lights came on...SMH ..LOL! The Bygone is the perfect place to watch the sunset and Baltimore's night skyline. Entering through the Four Seasons hotel sets the expectation for elegance and indulgence. The decor leans towards a masculine feels with the dark and earthy tones interior decor. Loved the velvet padded elevator walls. Exiting the elevator, you're met with an inviting wine cellar. It's a beautiful display. I ordered drinks at the bar. I asked the bartender to make me a twist on the French 75. She made it with Chareau Aloe liqueur. It was delicious. The bar area wasn't crowded. There were couches available by the windows. The outside patio area is nice to enjoy the cool summer breeze. Because of the recent poor air quality, I couldn't sit outside. Truly, it was just ok. Far too expensive for what you get. The best summation: very cool atmosphere and a great view with excellent cocktails, other than that it leaves a lot to be desired for a "high end" dining experience. The food was nothing special, nothing abundant in flavor or stand out presentation wise. Steak was cooked well, just not very flavorful. Positively though, the crab cake did have a lot of meat and the brussel sprouts were good. Good cocktails and an expansive selection of liquor and wine Service was very nice and attentive. Gave a handwritten birthday card and a small gratuity desert at the end. Dress code doesn't make much sense, woman can wear whatever but not men. They'll give the man a too small cheap jacket and not let you take it off if you don't have a collar, so no just wearing sweaters. I will say, they pretty obviously pass judgment when you walk in the door and seat you accordingly. Young couples, pocs, first timers. General "we're not positive you'll order or tip well", they'll try to sit you kind of aside of the main area. Or, maybe they were trying to fill the not so good tables first. Though, it was hard to ignore the pattern in which they tried to fill these tables. Regardless of the motive, don't let them sit you at the first table unless you're happy with it. Me and my friends came to the Bygone for a rich experienced but was left EXTREMELY unsatisfied. It took 30 minutes for someone to take our order and we had to ask for the bare minimum of bread. The menu doesn't have many options at all and the staff weren't very attentive. It took a long time for food to come out and a long time for us to receive a bill. We had to go and find someone to take our card! It's not worth it at all and I've gotten better service at McDonald's. Gas prices are too high to be spending all this money at a restaurant and not even get good service! In the elevator a couple was talking about hoe their food ALSO took like 35 minutes to come out. I've gone to The Bygone a few times recently for drinks and for their Sunday brunch for the first time. The city views are amazing and it's great to see them at night as well as during the day. Everything at the Bygone is pricey but quite worth it and Sunday brunch was no exception at $75 per person. You do get a good spread of your basic brunch selections like eggs, bacon, fruit, bagels and pastries. But also included are cocktail shrimp, raw oysters, charcuterie spread along with a prime rib, make your own omelette and waffle station. To end the already large selection of brunch items is the dessert table with baked goods such as slices of cake, cookies, macarons, and cupcakes. Everything was really great for a brunch buffet and my dining partner and I definitely ate our fill. The ambience is great and service is quite on point here. We've come here for drinks before, which is perfect - the cocktails are good, the views are better, you get to feel like you're somewhere fancy and plush but it doesn't honestly break the bank (cocktails are expensive everywhere these days). If you eat here, obviously you have to be aware it's a "BPSP" restaurant (that stands for big prices small portions... I made up the acronym but feel free to use it), and you generally need a reservation to even get seated. Having said that, the food was pretty good, it's hard to say if it's good enough to warrant the prices but I felt satisfied with everything we ate and ordered. The wait staff was really nice, and if you ask for a window table they will apparently honor your request (at least that's what I heard), so overall it's a nice experience! read more

TLDR: I seriously don't know why this restaurant doesn't have a higher rating. This place is stunning, the food was SO GOOD, and I found the service to be excellent and attentive. GET the gnocchi and mac and cheese, you won't regret it. This was the perfect venue for a birthday we were celebrating, and they made it so special for us. Coming back here for sure. FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] GNOCCHI (5/5): Top dishes I've had in all of 2023.... Seriously, this was just incredible. The black truffle aioli was to die for. GET THIS. 2. [MUST TRY] MAC AND CHEESE (5/5): VERY GOOD mac and cheese, and I have had a lot of mac and cheese sides in my life. 3. CHICKEN 3 WAYS (4.5/5): Really cool idea and overall delicious, the only thing was that the chicken breast was a tiny bit dry. 4. LOUIE THE CRAB (4/5): Fantastic dressing, fresh crab (though for me, I think fresh seafood isn't my absolute favorite since the crab meat just wasn't very flavorful without the dressing), and HUGE portion. I could have split this with someone else as my main and that still would have been enough food. Very generous amount of crab meat. 5. KEY LIME PIE (4/5): Got a deconstructed key lime pie dessert that was one of the most unique desserts I've ever had. I really enjoyed eating this, and it was plated beautifully, though by the end I wish it was half deconstructed and half a slice of normal key lime pie :) Still, tangy, the graham pieces were delicious, and the meringue was slightly sweet. Overall very cool dessert. 6. [EXTRA SHOUTOUT] They gave us an ADDITIONAL dessert (cake with ice cream and whipped cream on top) with this beautiful sparkler for the birthday. This dessert was simple yet delicious and I've never been to a high end place that has given a whole extra dessert just for a birthday. What a great touch. ----- ENVIRONMENT (5/5): - What can I say, come here for some of the best dinner views of Baltimore. We were sat at a beautiful table overlooking the inner harbor and got to watch the sub set over Baltimore. - Inside, the atmosphere was posh, elevated, and calm. I loved it - Everyone was dressed up for dinner, though I will say that we also came on East Sunday (we had no problem getting a reservation) ----- SERVICE (5/5): - I really loved our server. He was sweet, accommodating, and very attentive. - We wanted to sit by the windows in our area but those tables were all already taken but by the time dessert was served, they were empty. The food is too expensive for my blood (good thing I wasn't paying the one visit when I actually ate!) and the portions on some of the food items my companions got were TINY given the price of them! I ordered the prime rib, which was actually pretty good, but the au jus was lacking in flavor. My side of asparagus was also good, but there were only like 5 or 6 of them. Those 2 items alone cost $75. Decent beer selection, and all the cocktails are very pretty. I definitely enjoy hanging out at the bar more than sitting at a table to dine. Much like other reviews I've read, I suggest eating elsewhere and having a nightcap at The Bygone. It'll make you feel all grown and sexy! read more

But either it was nearly impossible to eat certain items without utensils or they were otherwise just mediocre. Service was friendly but slow. I had a great time at the Bygone! They have a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. Some nights they have a DJ and they do serve food. I usually get their Fine & Dandy ($20) cocktail, which is light and refreshing with notes of pear and elderflower. This time I tried something a little out of my comfort zone. Our bartender, B. Will (Britt), knows her stuff. She made our cocktails at ease and definitely contributed to the fun atmosphere and that really elevated our experience. I decided to try the Blind Tiger ($17), which has rye whiskey, rum, blackberry, lemon, rosemary and benedictine. I have had a few cocktails with benedictine in it so I knew what I was in for. B. Will lightly lit the rosemary sprig on and the aroma was heavenly! Every sip immediately smelled like incense and I truly enjoyed it. Bygone can be a nice elegant restaurant to go out for a nice meal or it can be the rowdiest hang out spot for people who have finished their event and looking to keep the good times rolling. I can't deal with it late night in a Fri or Sat, too many people packed in like sardines and its a minor miracle to get a drink. The rooftop views are always spectacular and its nice to go to a place that actually demands you wear more than jeans and a tshirt. I think the all you can eat was $75, it was well worth it, they had a wonderful selection, from oysters, gulf shrimp, made to order omeletes, waffles, u get the picture. All I can say is Wow! I don't know why it has taken me so long to try out The Bygone. The overall experience checked off all my boxes. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with an amazing view of Baltimore. We had a reservation on Sunday night for 6:30, which was perfect time, as the restaurant wasn't overly busy. Our waitress took great care of us offering her recommendations while also answering our questions about the menu. Top items for me were...the crab dip served with these delicious warm pretzel bites, the Rack of lamb which was perfectly cooked served with this delicious sauce, and the Holland Dover Sole (out of control) the sauce this fish is served with is packed with so many amazing flavors. I was staying at the hotel for my birthday and decided to venture upstairs. They used to have a dj so you could dance and now they just play elevator music which is boring considering the price you pay for drinks and food. While it looks great with great views, once you get your photo op its about all you can do. The drinks are a bit weak for the price and overall I had more fun listening to music in my room with my friend. There is a way to keep a classy grown and sexy vibe while not making it boring. The Bygone can be difficult to locate, but it is on the top of the four seasons hotel. The views of downtown Baltimore are absolutely stunning, though I wish the space were larger. I came with a large party, and felt like we were not welcome, despite having ordered bottle service and having a table reserved. The drinks at the bar are relatively standard, nothing special, and my gin and tonic was nothing to write home about. I think my experience would've been better if I had gone with a smaller party on a less busy night. read more
